The simplicity of the platform allows me to do my accounting remotely, which is a big plus for me. I can start my accounting tasks at the office and finish them at home in the evening. I also appreciate that the integration aspects are well done, even though there are not as many as I would like. The initial setup was very easy, which made getting started a breeze. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** The mobile app is really limited, it didn't work with accounts that have multiple currencies, it's really slow to start, and doesn't support Face ID logins. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kashoo is online and easy to use, allowing me to do my accounting remotely. I can start accounting at the office and finish it at home, making the process fast and simple. ### 2. They also didn’t stick to their commitment to include all the features in the package I chose. It took little time to setup (from an accounting standpoint) and works on all platforms (mobile, windows & mac). Since it's cloud-based, works from everywhere I go. Very stable platform, I haven't experienced downtime for more than a couple minutes and rearely more than once per year (probably due to maintenance). **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** The mobile app doesn't yet support businesses which have multiple currency transactions. This is something they're aware of and are working on. I've been using this for 9 years, new features are far between. I wish there were more external integrations, as well as a visual editor to produce custom styled invoices. **Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:** Try it, you'll love it. Even if you're not well versed in accounting, the layout makes for easy management of your business accounting. For more complicated entries, I've simply relied on a quick call to an accounting firm and took care of the entry. So even more complex entries are well handled. Use the mobile application to understand the full potential of Kashoo. There's a new revamped version soon to be released that will include better dashboards and automated data entry, so look forward to this. Their online webinars are totally worth checking out. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a small business owner, I need to be able to take care of my accounting whenever and wherever. Kashoo allows this. I don't have any formal accounting training, so I needed a software I could easily learn. ### 4. It was (and remains) clearly more affordable than any of the others that offered all the particular requirements I needed. Even though i am a small business, I need to handle a range of international currencies, and apply the correct sales tax for the country I am operating from. I am also not an accountant, so needed a programme that was highly intuitive. What was a massive bonus was that I also found really useful and responsive service. And always prompt responses to my queries. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** While it doesn't meet all my exact accounting needs, there is little I really dislike. It meets 90% of my needs directly, and the team have helped me with practical work-arounds for the rest! I find it's treatment of project disbursements a little clunky, but cope with it. **Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:** Try it out. Its very flexible for the price, and their service and support is amazing **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can do most of my accounting, on the run, wherever I am. As I travel a fair bit it doesn't mean I have to be at home base to catch up on my finances. It also works well with me across various international currencies (which usually requires much more expensive solutions). ### 8. While not an official part of the platform, I have created invoices on Kashoo, then they can just not be paid or marked as a quotation for work. This would make a great platform even better, in my humble opinion! **Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:** I think the ease of use is fantastic, and support is a chat or email away, and I've found the Kashoo team VERY responsive to questions, concerns or even product suggestions. Again, the ability to create and email an invoice in minutes from anywhere is a complete time saver! **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** A professional invoicing system, i.e. not a spreadsheet or word doc, imputes value and attention to detail. The ability to copy myself on the invoice ensures the invoice was sent out to the client. Also, at tax time, it's SO EASY to calculate what my billable hours were by client or calendar year, then export that for my bookkeeper. ### 9. Collecting expense invoice is the probably all I did in the past. The concept of reconciling account was new to me so I reached out to Kashoo support via online chat and email. Not being able to manage my WSIB account, for example, when I enter subcontractor bills, it would be nice to be able to allocate all or part of any given bill towards insurable which I have to put a percentage towards WSIB, including my own income as a sole propriator. I can’t seem to figure out how to view projects on my mobile app. It would be great if I could split up an income Amount Into progress payments which come due at different times. It would also be nice if you had a logo cropping, sizing and placement option built into the software like quick books does. It would be great if there was an estimate option as part of the app. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kashoo allows me to manage and track bills and invoices well, for the most part I use the online version. ### 12. Most other apps at this price point are purely a cash basis of accounting. It also allows for a detailed audit trail of journal entries, which is great. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** It's buggy - the IOS app doesn't even work. The banking downloads are unreliable. I am a person on the go so it'd be nice to be able to access my accounting records on the go. The user capabilities are a bit limited. It'd be nice if I could give a user access only to our invoicing module and not all of our financial information. **Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:** If you're background is in Accounting this product is perfect for you. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's a way to track and store all of our revenue and expenses (as designed). The customer service staff are great to deal with as they're always available to answer my questions. I also like that you can easily export data into csv and xls without waiting a long time for the reports to generate. ### 13. Having the opportunity bill and convert currency was very important to me in my line of work. I was pleased when Kashoo added that feature. I have many clients that don’t have an advanced accounting background but yet can easily maneuver through their income and expenses in kashoo. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** At times the bank import feature well very useful has duplicated some transactions. The bank reconciliation is made very easy and quick through the precise importing of bank statements from an online banking account ### 19. I have the mobile app on my phone and table but don't use it as much as I thought I would; I mainly use the desktop version. But I'm able to use it at home and at the office and I take full advantage of this. The user interface is very intuitive and I can always find what I'm looking for. It is good design. Reporting for my accountant is very easy. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** The downside of cloud-based/subscription based software is that you are at their mercy if they hike their rates. My rates went up more than 80% last year, notwithstanding that I was an early adopter and I don't use a lot of the features available. I struggle with some features as a lay person / non-accountant / non-bookkeeper but the knowledge base / support pages are very useful as is customer service when I need them. Set-up advice would have been useful as far as tax categories etc. I have participated in more than one webinar and found them hit and miss. **Recommendations to others considering Kashoo:** Take advantage of their free trial (assuming there is one) before committing. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've never really used any other accounting/bookkeeping software, but it's a big step up from Excel which I was using before :) I am a sole-practitioner and use Kashoo alongside other software and it fits well with my needs (may be more than I need). I use the bank reconciliation feature which is seamless. The software makes bookkeeping seamless and reporting to my accountant is similarly very easy. ### 20. Sale tax management is weird. Also when downloading transactions a filter would be nice - currently I have years and I get everything when downloading XLS or CSV of my invoices. **What problems is Kashoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy, fast, anywhere access. It's functional, friendly, easy to use. **What do you dislike about Kashoo?** The only issue with Kashoo is that it's not as popular as other accounting software, so while it does plug into some other services, there aren't as many connections available as the leading brand would have. I was soon advised they didn't have one. However about two days later Nikki the support rep emailed me to say they created one for me in Excel. Wow!
