The comprehensive solution enables you to manage storage systems, software-defined storage, storage-area network (SAN) fabrics and devices. With IBM, you can view storage from multiple perspectives including by department, application and server. The solution helps simplify provisioning, tier optimization, performance management and data replication processes. ## IBM Spectrum Control Reviews ### 1. Good monitoring software for IBM SAN devices **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025 **What do you like best about IBM Spectrum Control?** The easy way to manage all the devices that are being monitored, you can add any kind of Storage, Switches or Vms devices and is compatible with the latest version of firmware. Also, you can monitor VMs from Power devices by installing an agent in the server. **What do you dislike about IBM Spectrum Control?** The software is really good, but in the web GUI sometimes is terrible, it takes a lot of time to load some graphs or information from the storage devices. Also, if there is an error with the account used to monitor the storage device, you have to delete the device and add it again. **What problems is IBM Spectrum Control solving and how is that benefiting you?** Monitoring all the storage devices on the infraestructure, it´s an easy way to manage the hardware and performance alerts. With the software you can monitor the performance even at vdisks level, so you can see if a vm or datastore is having a performance issue during a certain period of time. ### 2. The primary and unique strength of IBM Spectrum Control is superior data control that helps us to classify, organize and safeguard valuable information. From this, there will be no need to search through heaps of folders or to even look for the updated version of the document. Preparing to the most frequently used functionalities which contain the capacities similar to automated data classification or data protection policies, which means that our information is well protected and always available when needed. **What do you dislike about IBM Spectrum Control?** So one minor drawback that can be noted is that relates to the initial setup of the probe. However, once everything is put in place for the storage of data, the general handling of this data is quite easy, which allows for more time on content creation by us. **What problems is IBM Spectrum Control solving and how is that benefiting you?** From my own experience, the thing that is most helpful is IBM Spectrum Control. This allows me to easily refer to the newest versions of the project, monitor modifications, and guarantee that other participants use the updated versions as well. ### 3.
