this product has been a leader in ECM for many years now as shown in the magic quadrant and as a user I see how good this product is. its ability to scale, and always provide new features is amazing. the IBM support team is always a call away ready to assist with any demo, issues or questions. one pain point is IBM's ability to sometimes change direction towards their vision for the future, without taking into considerations the heavy customizations customers have done. although these directions are always logical and great, as a customer your left figuring out and putting in cost to stay up to date somehow. IBM FileNet is a behemoth of a product that, while complex on the outside, provides a wealth of critical business functions including document storage, lifecycle management, and workflow functionality. Similar in style to the addage "20 ways to shoot yourself in the foot", FileNet provides both administrators and end users with a wide arrange of tools that is compatible with a large array of platforms (including WIndows and Linux flavors) that allows for business processes to be overhauled and greatly enhanced Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

IBM FileNet has its quirks in terms of administration and, to be frank, is not cheap. This is a universal dislike within the ECM and EDM space, however, as there is no easy to use and easy to afford product out there that fills the niche that FileNet fills.
