IBM FileNet 5.5 is far better than it's older versions. It's easy to integrate and we've integrated with Kofax products. Also it's security is top level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You can't except more on other features like BPM or workflow. Also there are many restrictions on window based older versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a product that surprised me, it has a high performance, it is effective and its interface very intuitive, at the time I used it it totally fulfilled my expectations and I consider it a great option within this section of file management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Encompassing all the points regarding software this product does not have any negative aspect, I do not have something to say that I did not like, it is totally effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used IBM CM8 content manager software along with IBM Content Navigator and integrated with IBM BPM. CM8 provides functionality to the users to customise the data model based on the business requirement, handles all data format, can handle huge number of files with ease, provides security based on custom defined attributes to protect sensitive data. Specifically the ICN is a very powerful document viewer and comes with the product and handles almost every document format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integrating with external products like IBM BPM is bit complex and had difficulty with certain document formats in the ICN viewer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Robust features make this one of the best content management systems out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price on this product is not very competitive with newer offering that are out there. If IBM is not careful, it will lose significant business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used this software for past 10 years and implemented this solution to multiple clients who have stored documents from multiple business units like HR, Accounts payable, IT, Contracts, etc. I have designed applications to allow access to documents only to certain groups. I have designed multiple workflow applications for HR help desk. document approval process. FileNet provides both document management and business process management functionalities. FileNet provides robust out of the box tools for end users (IBM Content Navigator) and for admins(ACCE) to store and classify documents. It has a great set of connectors for data migration to and from Kofax, XML import/export, Emails, Sharepoint, scanners, file systems, etc. Perfectly works with Oracle, DB2, SQL, MSSQL databases, IBM WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss application servers, allows to configure data model and user permissions as detailed as you may need. It provides tools to design workflow with integration with core applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Collaborating documents with external users force you to send the document via email or requires the external users to have FileNet license. Other ECM products solve this problem easily like Box.com. Cloud deployment is not well practiced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
FileNet Content manager and Content Navigator... the best and most reliable ECM products. The content navigator is easy to use/implement/integrate/customize product. Both products are easy to implement and integrate with other business processes. We also use Content Manager onDemand and Content collector as welll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use Content collector for bulk uploading. It's good; but very limited in terms of features and functionality. We had write lot of custom scripts for simple things. Would like to see it getting more evolved. We also use Daeja viewer Virtual which is replacing Pro viewer. It's definitely helping us to remove JRE dependency but does not have all features which Pro has For example, providing detail image information etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Consistant is the main word I would use to describe FileNet. It just works. The amount of content that is ingested for my business is quite massive and to have Content Manager ingesting and classifying and storing that content never fails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only part of Content Manager that is incredibly difficult is its licencing. It is impossible to understand and once you do they change the model again. That is why you need a business partner to help navigate through the nonsence. Additionally the interaction with other applications especially those from Microsoft and that reside in the cloud isnt the best, however, its on the horizon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The data collection can be customizable to the user's needs; can manage all data formats and although the flow of these is large does not lose the quality.
its ease of use is very appreciable for all our ornamentation and easily integrated into our system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing negative to say about this software, we are pleased with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of setup for getting started with IBM's Enterprise Content Management software was impressive. The options for pulling the enterprise solution in pieces into our existing enterprise infrastructure made evaluation much more feasible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The settings within IBM's Enterprise Content Management software are vast and it takes a lot of digging in the documentation to figure out even some simple changes. When you start pulling multiple components into your system you really have to start developing processes for your situation to keep the workflow organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Platform's scalability. Everything is now an 'I' in front of it - 'I'BM Content Foundation, 'I'BM Case Foundation, 'I'BM Content Navigator, 'I'BM Enterprise Records, but the core engines, platforms dating all the way back to the early 2000s are still there, play well with each other and provide a composite platform for all things content. It would be nice to go back and deprecate some of the more ancient stuff and clean it up while you're there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It enables an organization to take full advantage of the customer information and company knowledge embedded in its content. ECM solutions capture, store, activate, analyze and automate business content, providing new value from data that was previously unstructured and unavailable. Its has really good features but needs to add more features that make Enterprise day to life simple Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Me and my team likes the direction goes to. It really looks that IBM lsiten to customers feedback, for example starting to support React instead of only DoJo framework. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are still some technologies that are still not yet supported, and WebSphere is somethign that is really heavy weight to use on local computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
FileNet Content Manager provides the services that the business needs, and stability that I need as an Operations Manager. Our organization has dozens of applications with thousands of users that connect to FileNet for content. It is critical that these applications have high availability and FileNet helps us deliver that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The stack of software in IBM's content management suite is very large, and the names keep changing. It can be difficult to keep everything straight unless you have years of experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a solutions archite t, working with many clients, I appreciate the power of FileNet Content Manager to organize, and manage the content behind our solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the features are hidden deep in administrator menus, but once you find them, the system can do more than other content repositories that I've worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having being integrated with Content Manager, our users have found it to be reliable and integrated well with other IBM products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every now and then we will find some bugs especially related to annotations. It also takes considerable time for IBM to include the fix in a release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
we are us'ng filenet for our document management. we have strict regulatory operation and filenet is on top of those. we collect the documents and manage with this product' the most important thing is the performance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fact you have multiple other enhancing features that are NOT included in the complete suite. i.e. IBM Records Manager, IBM Stored IQ, better analytics on the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
