**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2018

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Most important thing for RQM is it can connect to automation test system,, and run automatic test scripts, produce automation test report.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

When you open a defect link in a test case, it will jump to RTC web page, and close current test case web page, which is quite bad for you to analyse the defect related with the corresponding test case.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It records all the details of test process, the status of test cases, such as no run, failed, blocked, pass. Also it provides linking to requirement and defect which is quite good for tracking issues.

  ### 18. IBM RQM is very powerfull product for automation testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2017

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

It's very powerfull and flexible product. IBM RQM can be used in different projects using different methodologies. I like using a combined solution with IBM RQM, DOORS NG and Team Concert.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Many users taking a problem with interface. Users consider it rather complicated.
Sometimes I have problems with Russian localization.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With IBM RQM, I completely control the quality of our product. I can automate much of the testing process.

  ### 19. Incredible Power and features with complexity to match

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2016

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

There is a lot of features to make sure you can get the data and reporting you need for your project. It has many options out of the box for a person to use and with configuration there is even more available.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Too complex for a normal team to use. There would need to be a person dedicated to its use and get training on it to get everything out of it. Installing the system is not easy and user reporting is not a mandatory feature.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM Engineering Test Management:**

Make sure you try to install it yourself. We have to depend on a 3rd party to keep it working for us. Be clear on what you want from them like the user reporting was not there for us. This also has a bunch of extra parts and so much can go wrong. the jazz server has been a problem and the use of java too.

We've had it running for 6 months with problems here and there. Without support from an expert we've would have many problems. It also took us a month to get it implemented with the help of another company.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure we have defects identified and fixed. Tracking the progress of the fixes.

  ### 20. Functional Test Analyst - worked as a contractor for Highmark Insurance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seemi J. | Adjunct Faculty, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Very neat layout. Allows for a well-organized work. It was always convenient to use it. User-friendly. Was an employee of CIBER (a IT service company), and we used to sit at a different location than Highmark. For every new project we used to receive requirements and it was very clear what the Highmark needs. The entire testing process was made easier. Made a good installation choice.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Actually I didn't dislike this tool as it was very user-friendly. Used this tool for two years on multiple projects and felt the most comfortable receiving requirements, perform testing, and submitting back the work.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM Engineering Test Management:**

Great product - go for it!

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving the quality of products. This tool made it easier and accurate.

  ### 21. Four year user of manual testing in RQM & Rational Tools

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

I like the link to the requirements tool. We used to use RequisitePro and now we use RDNG.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

The interface is frustrating: it bounces around as one makes entries, there are side panes that slide around until you figure out how to pin them, if you can. Navigation can be idiosyncratic from screen to screen, sometimes requiring one to place one's cursor in a field and tab to see the fields that extend off the screen.

The interface for reports is horrible.

The underlying structure that supposedly allows re-use of test cases is apparently flawed in that you can re-use a test case but you can't update it without overwriting the originally recorded results.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only benefit is a standard test documentation tool.

  ### 22. Extremely great experience using Rational Quality Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve W. | Rational Tools Administration Lead, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

What I liked the best is that you can manage your entire testing process directly within the tool. It gives you the capability to write your entire test plan, test cases, test scripts and import requirements from ReqPro all within the tool.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

The reporting mechanism. The reporting needs a lot of work to be able to view the data within the tool much better. It's kind of frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM Engineering Test Management:**

Highly recommend RQM...especially if you are a "Rational" shop. It integrates extremely well with ReqPro with ease. This tool will improve the way you manage your test artifacts and processes. It's easy to use and highly customizable.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed our team to have both System Test and User Acceptance Test teams to manage their testing processes. That is something Excel is not built to handle. We went from Excel to RQM and it improved our entire test process.

  ### 23. RQM Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

The feature to mange test in hierarchy.
The feature to integrate with task tracking system and requirement management system
The feature to execute test in place

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

nothing I really dislike. There are some complex concept which I never used.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM Engineering Test Management:**

I want RQM to make more automatic tests

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We create and manage test for our web based applications.

  ### 24. Modern TestManager replacement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

Intuitive UI, very modern and web-based. A huge improvement from it's predecessor (Rational TestManager).

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

API has a steep learning curve. Integration not always straightforward.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RQM works great for "tying together" all of your automated and manual testing, and providing cross-linking to requirements, defect tracking, etc.

  ### 25. Rational Quality Manager Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tega E. | Application Life Cycle Management SME, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2015

**What do you like best about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

RQM integrates well with tools that support other disciplines such as requirements management and configuration/change management. For example, Rational Requirements composer (RRC), Reqpro, Rational Team Concert (RTC) and ClearQuest.

**What do you dislike about IBM Engineering Test Management?**

RQM is slow to load on web browsers which could be due to poor scalability. RQM's performance also tends to become slower with more users. Furthermore, RQM is relatively expensive to purchase. The pricing appears to limit the adoption of RQM by smaller teams that don't have a robust budget.

**What problems is IBM Engineering Test Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Full life cycle traceability accross SDLC disciplines,
Reliable metrics of test assets.
Adequate tracking of test assets.
Reliable Impact analysis.
