For Example when a patient scheduled for surgery, I can pull up the case, check the patient information and documentation and follow up workflow without switching to several different systems. It makes easier to keep track of where each case stands and saves me time during busy day. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** The only thing I dislike is that some tasks take a few too many clicks. For example, when I’m working through a bunch of cases, switching between different sections or updating information can feel a little slow. It’s not a huge problem, but it can get annoying when you’re busy. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem it solves for us is keeping the surgery workflow organized, instead of having everything spread across different systems or spreadsheets. For example, when a patient is scheduled for a procedure, we can use HST to check the case, review the patient information and documentation, and keep track of where everything stands. That makes it much easier to see what still needs to be done, helps us stay on top of the process, and saves time. ### 2. As someone that is a Super User at our facility, the EMR is simple and easy to use. We went from charting on paper to HST Echart. We can send out a patient health summary to the patient, have them fill it out and bring all their answers over into the Echart chart. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** I with the HST created BLOC's in Echart were able to be modified for your specific needs. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** HST Pathways is saving time, saving paper and helping to reduce time spend on filling out patients information and health history. ### 3. I especially like the preference card feature, as it lets you create lists of supplies that a physician prefers, making it easier to be consistently prepared for cases. We use it daily for everything! **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** I find it frustrating that I have to log in twice before I can start using HST. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** helping me see supplies needed for every physician. ### 4. We are a little over a month post go live and staff are doing great after being on paper for years **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** I unfortunately came to ASC with only 3 months till go live so I felt that the training was rushed and monitors/ devices were not all working when we went live. Need more than 1 trainer onsite for go live. Dislike that pt engagement does not automatically flow into Echart **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** Less paper documentation and streamlined reports for operations ### 5. We like that we can customize the eChart side to fit our facility and our needs for each doctor/procedure as needed. It is user friendly and we have been able to call and get customer support help very quickly. I would definitely recommend this software to others. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** One of the only things that I don't love about HST Pathways is that there isn't an area where you can easily maneuver between a patient's previous charts. You can search them and look through them that way. It isn't quite as convenient as others I have used. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** All of our staff have worked in different charting systems and we hear over and over how helpful HST is compared to the other ones they have used. I mostly work on the practice management side and I appreciate how easy to maneuver the billing side is. ### 7. The integration between products is good. One of the best parts about HST eChart is the ability to customize your charting experience. Also, the ability for each area to have their own area for charting is a huge plus (ie. preop, intraop, anesthesia). Information that those areas need to see (ie. allergies, vital signs, etc) flow into each section. That way when you are teaching a new person how to use the chart, you just have to teach them their specific area. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** HST has different products for different purposes. This can lead to fractured processes and missing information. For example, there is not currently a good preop call tool that the patient can fill their information in beforehand. There is a tool in HST CaseCoordination, but this information does not flow into HST eChart. Having a fully capable suite of products that fully integrate with each other would be a huge success, which is what HST is working toward, just not there yet. I think when all of these issues are ironed out, HST will be a premier product. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** The greatest solution that HST provides is the ability to use one product in many modalities. The ability for a doctor's office to use Case Coordination to post a case, the ASC to approve the case in Case Coordination, the ASC to be able to utilize Practice Management for its multiple features (case preference cards and inventory management, billing and claims management), and the ability for the ASC to utilize eChart is a huge plus. ### 8. There are several things we love about it: The ease of having it web-based so it can be accessed from anywhere, the ability to make real-time changes to the E-chart, and the reports from Practice Management are easy to find and customize to help us make improvements and see deficiencies. We currently have Practice Management, E-charting, Clarity and Patient Engagement. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** It would be helpful if the E-charting patient status connected with the Patient Engagement patient status/family texting. This would save time from needing to click in two different screens to relay the same information. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems being addressed: Communication between staff members, administration, billing, physicians. We are able to be more productive when not having to track down a paper chart which the only source of some information. We are saving money on paper, man-hours working charts and time literally spent just finding charts. We also are saving time/money by not scanning charts. It has also increased our communication with patient family members by using Patient Engagement using the texting feature for rides. We have had very good feedback on this. Clarity has helped make our billing process more efficient. and we are actually getting paid faster by the patient's having a better understanding of what is owed and to whom. ### 9. Organized and customizable. Open availability to meet for planning and progress reporting. IT/interface team was responsible and held accountable to the timeline. The product is as advertised and as we perfect the workflows, will bring efficiency and accuracy that was lacking. I am hopeful that it will save me a FTE while bringing in more upfront payments. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** It would be helpful if they had a coder on the team to be able to validate some of the setup. **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** Accuracy and Timeliness of benefits verification ### 10. We also use some of their other products, which are wonderful! We are excited to use their EMR as well. **What do you dislike about HST Pathways?** The only thing I'd like to see different, is I'd like the patient pre-admission to "talk" to the PM/EMR. It would definitely make things easier. Everything else is great! **What problems is HST Pathways solving and how is that benefiting you?** Moving to the Practice management side of HST has made our billing and collecting process much easier.
