"Hex is a great tool that I use every day for work!"

What do you like best about Hex?

Hex is so helpful for visualizing data and translating complex data insights into easy to digest insights for non-technical stakeholders. I compare Hex to Looker a lot and I love the ability to dynamically construct queries to create visualizations that improve performance and run times.

I use Hex every single day and create 3-4 dashboards every 2 weeks for stakeholders. The Hex apps have been widely accepted by stakeholdes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hex?

Hex does have some limitations. I recently came across a need to separate permissions for different users within a single app between tabs. I believe the current workaround is to embed individual cells into a separate application for visualization but if Hex could allow for different user access within a single app, that would be really great! It is kind of a niche use case but would definitely be appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hex solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am a data analyst that supports the business side of our company and Hex helps me create effective and dynamic dashboards for stakeholders based on their needs. I enjoy using Hex because it is very flexible when it comes to manipulating data and presenting insights and visualizations. The latter effect is also valued by our stakeholders who have started to request Hex apps as ways to track team-level, department-level, and company-wide metrics. "Game changer for our company, but need some more "boring" features"

What do you like best about Hex?

The notebook-app split is great. As a developer, I like working in the notebook and then being able to drag and drop. Being able to use Python plotting libraries to make plots for dashboards has been a welcome improvement compared to the previous dashboards we've been using. What do you dislike about Hex?

For developers, Magic has not been useful at all. It is easier and more efficient for me to copy my problem into chatGPT.

That said, I would rather see more basic features get improved on in Hex rather than fixing Magic. This would include:

- Ability to add totals to pivot tables. This one is also a huge downside for our stake holders

- More advanced conditional formatting in tables. I should be able to color a column based on the value in another column. This one is also a huge downside for our stake holders

- Two way sliders, for users to input a maximum and minimum value more straightforwardly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
