What do you like best about Hex?

Easy to share different levels of detail in a complete package - and the seamless integration between SQL and Python is so great. It makes exploring our database much easier for people less familiar with its structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hex?

It can be slower than a local python platform, where we still have to run some larger data analysis models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hex solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hex has solved a few things - sharing and collaborating on notebooks to execute consistent data analysis across multiple engineers on a team has been huge. Sharing results that are embedded with the method to get to them is also much better than just sharing a figure on a slide in a report. The figures we're making are also more standardized now and everything looks very clean. Additionally, the ability to work with python and sql in one IDE is fantastic. We were building an internal python package previously, but it was challenging for people less familiar with python to use and install. Hex has helped lower the barrier to entry for coding and data analysis on many teams at our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Tool with Integration Perks but Sluggish Performance"

What do you like best about Hex?

I like Hex mostly for its interface, which makes it easy to create queries using different codes like SQL and Python. This allows us to access data from different sources efficiently. It's helpful to have everything in one place, especially since we deal with multiple sources of information that need different processing and SQL languages. The integration with Google Forms and other tools is also very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hex?

Hex is very slow, which is a big downside. I also have issues with cache not refreshing as expected, especially with large projects, and it takes a long time to refresh. There are limitations on tables, particularly with conditional formatting, as it can only be applied based on the value of the specific column, rather than referencing a different column or using a formula for more dynamic functionality.
