## About Hardbook
Hardbook is booking and contract software for day-rate freelance artists and professionals — anyone who gets hired by the day rather than by the project. It solves a specific problem: the gap between a client agreeing to dates and a signed, paid booking. Freelancers lose jobs in that gap — a client goes quiet after "sounds good," or the work happens and payment is late because nothing was ever signed. With Hardbook, a freelancer shares a branded booking link. The client picks open dates on a calendar, reviews the contract, and signs on screen. A booking fee — an authorized hold, not an upfront charge — can lock the date before the client walks away. Funds settle directly to the freelancer's own Stripe account; Hardbook takes no cut. Other features: Two-way Google Calendar sync, so booked dates and existing commitments live in one place. AI-assisted drafting for MSA and SOW contract templates, so freelancers don't start from a blank page. A dashboard with income forecasting, utilization tracking, and client history. A branded, no-signup portal for clients — no app to install, no account to create. Hardbook is built for solo freelancer who lost paid work to unsigned contracts and slow client replies, and built the tool he wished existed. **What do you like best about Hardbook?**

As an artist, it helps me to have my client sign a contract at the same time they book a date in my calendar and set a payment day for me. They sign the contract with me, and they book the appointment date.

**What do you dislike about Hardbook?**

The CRM isn’t as advanced as some other tools, although it’s still nice to have a built-in CRM included.

**What problems is Hardbook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to send four separate emails for every booking: the proposal, the contract, the invoice, and then a follow-up because nobody ever signs the first time you ask. Now it’s just one link. They choose the date, sign, pay the deposit, and it’s done. It’s saved me a ton of back-and-forth, especially during busy season when I’m juggling ten inquiries at once.
