For businesses built heavily on Google's platform, Google Voice is probably the most intuitive VOIP solution to get started with. It is straightforward to use and set up. There are plenty of features available for somebody just getting used to VOIP Business Phone systems. It is also incredibly reliable. We never experienced downtime or issues with call quality. **What do you dislike about Google Voice?** I would hesitate to call Google Voice a platform for "Power Users". In fact, some of the more advanced auto attendant and call routing features that we needed for our business were not feasible through Google Voice. That is what prompted our switch to another more comprehensive system. Google Voice just didn't have the tools available to create an in-depth routing plan for our business, which requires multiple layers of call answering, forwarding, backup queues, and etc. **What problems is Google Voice solving and how is that benefiting you?** Google Voice initially solved our primary issue of setting up phone lines and numbers as quickly and seamlessly as possible. I can have a second line without needing a second phone. When I miss a call or text, I get notified via email and am able to listen to voicemails through email and even respond to texts. This was a great option when I needed to text a client back but wasn't able to access my phone. **What do you dislike about Google Voice?** The "do not disturb" option doesn't really work. It will still send notifications to the phone about the google voice activity. This isn't the greatest when you're needing a break from work. It's also hard to save contacts to just the google voice app. I also haven't been able to send or receive pictures or videos even though it shows them as sent. **What problems is Google Voice solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was working as a counselor and needed a separate business line without getting a different phone. Another useful feature that I like, is the ability to forward messages to linked numbers and to your email. I like being able to hide my caller ID on outgoing calls or listen to a cller's name and voicemail message. You can also get email alerts for missed calls as well as turn on "Do Not Disturb" which will turn off message forwarding and send calls to voicemail. The voicemail setup is really nice as well. I love that I can check missed calls, I can take calls and I can receive and respond to text messages from any device. Google voice is actually the number I get out all the time. It is rare that I will give out a network provider number considering that it changes so often. Because of how Google voice integrates into your email address and the standalone Google voice webpage, it's really hard to miss a call. I love that I can also block numbers and phone numbers that maybe I don't want to block but would really like to distance from, I can market as spam. Google voice has been my business phone number solution for a long time. I would say since 2014. It really works. It also integrates into Google hangouts which is also really cool. **What do you dislike about Google Voice?** I dislike that some services won't accept my number when I try to verify. There are some apps or services that if I try to verify my number and they attempt to send me a verification code, I won't get it. Also with Wells Fargo when I attempt to verify my phone number through online banking I don't get the text message. Outside of that the service is really awesome. **Recommendations to others considering Google Voice:** Make sure that the phone number you choose is one that you're going to stick to. If you were to decide to try to change that number there is a fee involved. Also be sure that with your Google voice account you monitor what messages you are archiving and what you're deleting. Deletions are irreversible. But the number of archived messages can't really stack up. If it anytime you need to download all of your messages or attachments, your Google account has a feature that will provided you with all of that. **What problems is Google Voice solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving the problem of having no physical phone line in my office and with Google voice it gives me mobility to still receive calls and text messages. I use this as a business line and as a personal line and folks don't really know the difference. This to me is such an important feature because it has allowed me to cut costs on communications.
