## Google Ad Manager Reviews
  ### 1. how i use the ad manager

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishesh K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

the details of the working hours and map and add provided on the pages

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

updation is slow and verification takes so much time

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to provide the details of our products so we can connect to our customers easily

  ### 2. Positive Experience Regarding ClickCease, But Not Always with Others

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

Integration with ClickCease is flawless! And within the actually Google Ads Manager User Interface, being able to see fairly customizable analytics with features that allow quick edits and approval status. Decent control over levels of automation compared to a few times I want to have manual adjustability. I can build detailed audiences and country-specific restrictions are identified clearly.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

Nothing to dislike about the flawless intergration with ClickCease. But within the Google Ads Manager User Interface itself (and from a company [Google] that demands a great user experience (no CLS [content layout shift], speed requirements of websites, etc.) the User Interface within Google Ads leaves me wanting most days. At least once an hour certain pages won't load, when I'm searching for targetted or excluded countries the actual countries won't show up in bulk search [French Guiana, Antarctica, Syria {for exclusions}, Greenland, Sudan, South Sudan etc.). Lastly, because we are an agency with a Manager Account we cannot choose how often we're called by account specialists (most of which are not specialists at all) ... and these specialists change every 90 days. So you can image how many Google Ads calls I receive with 25 ads accounts.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When integrating Google Ads with ClickCease it is providing a seamless connection that protects against fraudulent clicks in my ads campaigns. It allows my clients to show up in the most popular digital spaces without clicks from out-of-country, VPN, bots, etc. that waste budgets.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2017

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

I like that you can get analytics you need pretty much immediately. There is also real-time feedback on the status of your ad content.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I don't like that often I don't know why my ads are stuck in "ready" status. If I've set everything up correctly, then I shouldn't have to delete what I've done and start over only to do it the same way again.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

As with all of Google's products, you can get pretty advanced with this product. I suggest training for that. If you simply want to implement ads with valid statistics, as we do, you can do that as well without much training.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I dislike that if I have an issue with the platform that is way too technical or something that my colleagues can't help me with, I can't just reach out to Google directly for customer support. Instead, I'd have to reach out to a third party or spend too much time researching how to resolve my issues.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to traffic and serve my ads in one transparent platform instead of having publishers serve ads themselves. With Google Ad Manager, I can see my metrics without publishers having to report them to me.

  ### 26. Google Ad Manager Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

We sell advertising on multiple platforms and Google Ad Manager is a great way to organize campaigns and quickly edit them if need be. Reporting is also very straight forward and simple to understand, so it is nice when our advertisers request updates on their campaign we can provide those at any time.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

Sometimes the site itself can be very slow, or even crash. This has only happened a few times, but of course they were both times that we needed to be making updates so we were frustrated with the program at the time. It could also be better designed and a more user friendly. This has been a difficult aspect/pain point for us when we utilize sub-contractors or take on different clientele. Having different user permissions (or explaining how to implement it easily) would be a huge plus for us going forward.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

If you do not use other Google Software, this will probably not be the best product for your organization.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad Manager makes analyzing data seamless, they offer many different display types/charts and even allow us to run algorithms on the data. The reporting functionality is robust, allowing multiple query types that are even friendly to non-developers.

  ### 27. Google Ad Manager has had a UI facelift, but core elements of the UX are still confusing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan W. | UX Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

As part of a marketing team, I've been using Google Ad Manager for the better part of a year. We use the app to deliver house banner ads on our website for promotions. The app allows us to schedule when ads should display and rotate different creatives throughout the promotion. The analysis it provides and integration with Google Analytics is helpful to see the impact on the business. The creatives can be delivered for various screen sizes and resolutions.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

The delivery of ads are broken out into three elements we use:
• Orders
• Line items
• Creatives

When creating an order, you have to define a line item, and each line item needs creatives. I often find that when you schedule an ad to be delivered, Ad Manager tells you it's not ready and requires creatives, even when I've already attached creatives to the line item. It can take several minutes for the system to recognize this and confuses me as a user each time.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can deliver ads that are high-resolution images for high resolution displays and track the success rates of our promotions.

  ### 28. Google Ad Manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krupa P. | Krupa , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

I like how it displays information for the ad units and how you can change the columns to provide the information you want

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

The tool can be complicated to extract data from

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding more information about ad units

  ### 29. Detailed Ad Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

I like that you can measure ad performance easily and determine delivery status for ROS campaigns.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I do not like the recent update to GAM. I think that the new interface is tedious and slow, and the design doesn't help me with my work. I also do not understand why some ad campaigns deliver immediately (when set up to do so) and other ad campaigns need you to manually approve it.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to see what ad content our readers are the most open to and what they are more likely to engage with.

  ### 30. Great for managing several social media accounts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** bruce l. | Marketing Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

When managing ads from several social media accounts, Google ad Manager is very good setting prioritization to ads from groups to every social media account, keywords, type of content, etc. It allows integration with other 3rd party platforms in a hasty matter. You can report easily, by adding several types of queries.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

My biggest concern has to do with the customer support. Every time I try to call them: 1)They take too much time to pick up the phone, 2)When they finally pick up, they leave me waiting before they can solve my problem, 3)Finally, they are unable to solve it. It has happened to me several times, so many I prefer to let another one of my co-worker to make the call, and they get similar results.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

In general, I consider Google Ad Manager a nice tool but only to start. As your site starts to grow, you may realize the limitations from this tool and start looking for a more sophisticated one.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company manages the direct and programmatic ads with Google Ad Manager. We mainly use it for uploading creative content, such as texts, images and videos; and pull reports from the analytics obtained on the software.

Using complicated ad tags is not intuitive and there is a lot of room for error if you are not well-verses in display ads.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda P. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

We use this program to house all of our digital ads in one place. We are able to submit artwork/graphics, set the impressions goal, and a budget in this program.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I dislike that you cannot organize the ads by specific dates, For example, if I wanted to look at the performance of an ad on a specific day only, there is no option to do so. You must look at the performance for the dates you already set up when you first created the ad.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

I recommend that those who are deciding to use this program for digital ads, be sure to watch tutorials on the benefits on what the program can do for you,

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some business problems we are solving is helping our customers know whether or not their ad campaign is benefiting their business or if they should be doing more to reach their goals.

  ### 38. Very difficult to understand

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan C. | Graphic Design, Ads & Layout, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

That you can fill unsold spots with google ads, or sell your own specific ads to local clients. The data you get back on views and clicks.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

We found it very difficult to understand. The back end seems to be designed more for programmers than for writers or designers. We're a small newspaper and can't afford to outsource something like this. It took a long time to figure out how to add new clients, then their campaigns and then their specific ads, schedule them correctly and make sure they were getting the right amount of impressions. It seems like it could be a little easier for the layman to understand.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

Only if they have a lot of web experience. Or to get someone who does have a lot of web experience to implement it for them. We found it to be a real headache.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem solved is monetizing a newspaper website while keeping most of the content free for readers. The benefit is staying in business! We'd have used it a lot more if Doubleclick had been more intuitive to use.

the way to order the orders and upload the tags of each, besides being very easy and simple to generate reports

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

Always keep in mind the type of campaign and order that is going to be configured

Serving all kinds of ads on the website to our targeted audience. The benefit I realized was how cost effective it was to serve ads.

  ### 45. Using google ad managers across all of WB media.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

Google support is extremely useful. Easy to use UI.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

The load time is a bit wonky and can get stuck.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using it to mainly traffic ads.

  ### 46. Good For The Basics (Including Reporting/Targeting)

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

The robust reporting dimensions allow for extensive reporting and the ability to drill down on most of our KPIs through specific metrics. The key values is also a great way to target specific audiences on a basic level.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

The dashboard interface is a little outdated, and the way the ads are organized can be confusing (between line items, ad units, and placements), specifically how the left-side panel is broken up by Delivery and Inventory (both are similar and it's confusing).
Also we are unable to pull conversions directly from the reporting feature, so we need to compile the DFP reporting with our internal conversion reporting to get a holistic look at the performance.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

If you need a basic ad system, then this is the product for you. If you're looking for something where you can control personalization or multi-unit ad management on a large scale, then this might be limiting.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to serve our on-site ads, which includes measuring the performance of those ads as well.

  ### 47. DoubleClick for Publishers - Best Ad Server, Hands Down

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

DoubleClick for Publishers, or DFP, is simply the best ad server in the industry. It is robust and easily integrates with almost any publishers site. DFP is cutting edge in their targeting, reporting, and tagging functionalities. The ease in which one can upload creative tags and have delivery begin within 15 minutes is second to note.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

Ultimately, DFP's only real complaint is the long wait times to have a report complete.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

Highly, highly recommend

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DFP helps us to serve advertisements on our owned and operated properties.

  ### 48. Has its Pros & Cons

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

I like that the interface is user friendly for the most part. It is usually easy to naturally pick up on how to add/pull something.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

From a campaign setup side of things, not being able to flight campaigns is a huge issue. The system is often slow when you add too many lines - which you are forced to do since you can't easily flight. It would also be nice to receive notifications for when things are complete. Reporting is not always 100% accurate either (quartile reporting for example).

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

Push them to make campaign setup easier for Publishers. This would help solve many business issues and make work must easier for planners.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to forecast campaigns & track them both internally and using 3P reporting. This is the bulk of our business, so it is making things move. Additionally, a majority of our clients use Doubleclick for 3P tracking - making our partnership easier.

  ### 49. DFP Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

I think overall it has an easy user experience if you are familiar with digital terms/how ads work. I think that if you are an account manager / campaign manager it's the most universal program

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I don't like how many steps it takes to take 'screenshots' of ad units / placements

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

I would make it more user friendly

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are looking to solve issues of discrepancies between first and third party tracking

  ### 50. DoubleClick For Publishers is Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ad Manager?**

Once you know exactly how to set up each line and organize your orders, the rest is all quite simple. I schedule all of my ad placements for the websites I work with on DFP and I rarely have issues. I think what I like best is that you do not have to post an ad right away, you can schedule the start and end date on your own.

**What do you dislike about Google Ad Manager?**

I do not like that there is a bit of a delay when taking ads down and posting ads. Sometimes it can take 10 minutes. In the past I have mistakingly added the wrong artwork for an ad and I've had to wait a bit of time to see that it is no longer visible.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ad Manager:**

If you are managing multiple producers, websites and ad types, this program is excellent.

**What problems is Google Ad Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is probably the easiest way to keep all of our producers ads separate and be able to view their reports for each ad as well.
