# Which secure document storage solutions with advanced search are used by operations managers at legal practices?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi G2 community, which <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/legal-document-management">legal document management solutions</a> do operations managers at legal practices use when secure storage and advanced search are the priorities? I narrowed the supplied reviews to operations, office, business systems, and similar management roles at law firms and legal-services organizations.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Three patterns came through clearly.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><strong>For search and governance</strong></p><ul><li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/netdocuments/reviews"><strong>NetDocuments</strong></a><strong>:</strong> An office manager praises its search for quickly finding language and prior work, while other legal-practice managers highlight governance, security requirements, and reduced reliance on physical storage.</li></ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><strong>For secure, matter-centric storage</strong></p><ul><li>

Smokeball, Clio Manage, and MyCase add more practice-management functionality around the documents.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For legal operations teams, where does search matter most: finding precedent language, locating the latest matter file, or surfacing emails and documents across the whole client record?</p>

&lt;p&gt;For legal operations teams, the best search experience is the one that works across the whole matter context, not just filenames. I’d compare full-text search, email indexing, version history, permissions-aware results, and how quickly staff can surface precedent language without opening several systems.&lt;/p&gt;
