"Clean, Intuitive Docs That Sync Smoothly with Our Git Workflow"

4/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook has made maintaining our technical documentation much cleaner and more organized compared to scattered files or wikis. The editing interface is clean and intuitive for both technical and non-technical team members to contribute without a learning curve, and structuring content into organized sections has kept documentation navigable as it's grown. Integration with our Git-based workflow lets documentation updates sync naturally alongside code changes, which fits well into how our team already works. Performance is fast, with search returning relevant results instantly even across a growing set of pages, and publishing changes happens without noticeable delay. Pricing has offered solid ROI given how much time it's saved compared to maintaining documentation manually across scattered files, and onboarding new contributors took very little effort since the interface is self-explanatory. While GitBook doesn't have deep native AI features, the built-in AI-assisted search has occasionally helped surface relevant documentation faster than manual browsing would have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Some of the more advanced formatting or custom layout options feel limited compared to more flexible documentation tools, which occasionally requires workarounds for specific formatting needs. Managing permissions across different teams took some initial configuration to get right, especially when balancing internal versus externally shared documentation. Pricing for higher-tier plans with more advanced collaboration features can add up as the team and documentation needs grow. The AI-assisted search, while helpful, doesn't always surface the most relevant page for more nuanced or ambiguous queries, occasionally requiring a manual scan through search results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

GitBook has solved the problem of scattered, hard-to-maintain documentation by giving us a single, organized place for technical specs, integration notes, and process documentation. This has made onboarding new team members faster and kept documentation in sync with our actual codebase, since updates fit naturally into our existing Git-based workflow instead of living disconnected from the code they describe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Intuitive Documentation with Smooth Collaboration"

4/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook has a clean and intuitive interface that makes creating and organizing documentation straightforward. I like how easy it is to structure pages, manage content, and publish documentation from a single place. Navigation is simple, the editor is responsive, and collaboration features make it convenient to keep documentation organized and accessible for the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

GitBook is easy to use overall, but some advanced customization and collaboration features are only available in the paid plans. It can also take some time to learn how to organize larger documentation projects efficiently. I'd also like to see more flexibility in page layouts and formatting options without relying on additional integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

GitBook helps keep documentation organized in one place instead of having information scattered across different documents or chats. It makes it easier to create, update, and share documentation with team members, so everyone can access the latest information. This has improved collaboration, reduced time spent searching for documentation, and made knowledge sharing more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Easy-to-Update Documentation with GitBook"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

I started using GitBook to keep project documentation and design notes in one place instead of having them scattered across different files. The page structure is easy to understand, and the editor stays clean even when adding images, code snippets, or step-by-step instructions. I also like that updating existing pages is quick, so it's easy to keep information current without reorganizing everything again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The overall experience has been good, but some advanced formatting and workspace settings took me a little time to understand. I also feel that a few useful features are only available on the paid plans, which can be limiting if you're using it for smaller projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

GitBook helped me replace scattered notes and documents with one organized knowledge base. Now I can keep project instructions, references, and updates together, which makes information easier to find later and reduces the chance of using outdated files. It has made my documentation process more organized and saves time whenever I revisit older projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Finally, docs that match a real product"

5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

Git Sync. The MemoryString docs live in GitHub like the rest of the product, and the public site stays in sync. It looks like real documentation, not a leftover README, which matters for a free app with no upsells. Works amazingly well, integration in gitbook is easy and seamless, they really did a good job Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Nothing really, it is a great platform for online docs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

I needed public, serious documentation for a free Mac app without standing up my own docs stack. GitBook gives MemoryString a real help site from a GitHub repo, so I can ship product and docs in the same workflow. Users get clear guides instead of a README. The community license means that site can stay complete without turning docs into a paid extra. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best tool to document college major/minor projects and code blocks without any mess"

4.5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

The markdown editor is super clean and minimal. When we are working on our college hardware prototypes and robotics projects involving microcontrollers, sensors, and tons of jumper wires, keeping track of the exact pin configurations and code snippets in normal text files or WhatsApp groups becomes a total nightmare. GitBook completely sorts this out. We can create separate neatly structured pages for component lists, circuit logic, and C++ code blocks. Plus, the seamless integration with GitHub is amazing; every time we push a fresh code commit to our repository, the documentation syncs up automatically. It makes our final project report look highly professional in front of the external lab evaluators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The free tier has become quite limited for student groups lately. A lot of good features, like advanced visual customization, private spaces, and mapping custom domains, are completely locked behind their expensive premium plans which a college student obviously cannot afford. Also, when multiple team members are trying to edit the same page simultaneously right before the final submission deadline, the real-time syncing tends to lag a bit, occasionally creating duplicate text blocks that we have to sit and clean up manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solved the massive headache of managing scattered Word files and outdated PDFs during our semester evaluations. Earlier, someone from the team would always end up using an older version of the circuit diagram or code, leading to burnt components or compilation errors. Now, our entire project group has one single, updated link to check the latest project status and wiring setup. During final presentations, we just share the public GitBook link with our professors, and they can easily review our entire system architecture in one glance. "Lightning-Fast, Beautiful Documentation with Seamless GitHub Sync"

5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

What I love. most about GitBook is how it perfectly bridges the gap between technical documentation and a beautiful, user-friendly writing space. The UI/UX is incredibly clean, making the Markdown editor feel effortless to use. Its seamless integrations - especially with GitHub - are an absolute lifesaver for syncing our developer docs automatically without manual hassle.

From a performance standpoint, the platform is lightning-fast, and the onboarding process was so straightforward that our entire team was set up and contributing on day one. I love that it gives us the power of a technical wiki without the clunky overhead of older documentation tools. It saves our team hours of formatting time every week, making it an incredible value for our workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

While the platform is excellent overall, I occasionally find the advanced custom formatting options a bit limited when I want to break away from standard Markdown layouts. Additionally, while the GitHub sync works incredibly well, the initial repository mapping logic has a slight learning curve if you have a highly complex project structure. However, these are minor details, and the GitBook team actively pushes updates that consistently improve these workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

We struggled with scattered documentation and outdated guides buried across different tools, which wasted a lot of team time. GitBook solved this by providing a single centralized source of truth that keeps our internal wikis and developer docs perfectly aligned. Thanks to the automatic GitHub sync, our documentation now updates effortlessly alongside our code, eliminating internal silos and saving us hours of manual maintenance every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Organized, and Easy Documentation"

4/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

I like how easy GitBook is to use for creating and organizing documentation. The interface feels clean and intuitive, the search works well, and sharing documentation with teammates is straightforward. It also supports Markdown, which makes writing, editing, and keeping content up to date quick and convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

One thing I dislike about GitBook is that some of the more advanced settings and customization options aren’t very intuitive at first. It took me a bit of time to get familiar with where everything is and how it works, but once I did, the overall experience felt smooth and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

GitBook helps me keep documentation organized in one place, which makes it much easier to find and update information. It cuts down the time I spend searching through different files, and it also improves collaboration by ensuring everyone has access to the most up-to-date documentation. "GitBook: Clean UI, Fast Performance, and Spot-On GitHub Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

What I loved most about GitBook was how easy it is to build a clean UI. The integration with GitHub is also spot-on.

It’s super fast, and I haven’t had any issues even with heavier workloads. The pricing was even better for me since I was able to get their community plan. It’s also a really nice touch that their AI helps people understand your project.

The fact that they were willing to support my project, even though I’m just starting out, was truly amazing. Thank you so much— as an independent researcher with limited funding, this means the world to me.

Alice Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

So far, I feel it could use better integration with other products—Antigravity, for example—but there’s nothing about it that makes me dislike it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was struggling a lot to visualize my docs and figure out how to create a clear interface for anyone trying to understand what my project is about. When I tried GitBook, I was like, “That’s it!” Now I can focus my efforts on the engine of my project itself, without worrying about how the interface is going to look. "Great tool for building and managing product documentation"

5/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

What I like best about Gitbook is how easy it is to create and organize documentation without needing any technical skills. The editor is clean and intutive, almost like writing in a regular document, but it still lets you add code blocks, images and links smothly. It's also great for keeping our product docs organized and easy for our team to update. The way it publishes changes live instantly is a huge time-saver for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

There isn't much I dislike, but if I had point something out, the customization options for design and branding feel a bit limited compared to other tools. Sometimes it also takes a little time to figure out more advanced formatting options. That said, none of this really affects the overall experience Its still simple to use day to day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

Gitbook helps us keep all our documentation in one organized place instead of scattered across different files and folders. It makes it easy for our team to update guides quickly and for users to find answer on their own without asking us directly. This saves us a lot of time on support and keeps everything consistent. Overall, its made our documentation process much smoother and more professional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Git Book Makes Creating and Finding Information Fast and Easy"

4/5

What do you like best about GitBook?

What I dislike about GitBook is that some of the advanced features take a little time to get used to. Also, managing larger documentation becomes slightly harder as the number of pages grows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a QE engineer, I often need to create and maintain documentation, whether it’s test cases, troubleshooting steps, or other project-related information.
