## About Filio
Filio is an AI-powered visual documentation and field reporting platform for site-based teams that need organized, defensible project records across construction, engineering, infrastructure, environmental consulting, inspections, and post-disaster fieldwork. Filio helps teams capture photos, videos, 360 imagery, notes, measurements, and annotated observations in the field, then automatically connect each record to maps, plan sheets, GPS, elevation, direction, timestamps, weather, and project metadata. The result is a searchable visual record that turns everyday field capture into audit-ready documentation and professional reports. Filio is best for project managers, superintendents, inspectors, engineers, environmental consultants, owners’ representatives, and field crews who need more than a phone camera roll or manual photo log. Teams use Filio to document site progress, inspections, QA/QC, environmental observations, claims evidence, condition surveys, and closeout records when both the field team and the office need the same source of truth. Filio solves common pain points such as missing photo context, scattered visuals across devices and folders, slow photo-log creation, inconsistent reporting between teams, weak documentation during disputes, and the inability to quickly find the right field image months later. With AI-generated captions, advanced search, voice-to-text notes, plan-sheet and GIS context, templates, and exportable PDF and Word reporting, Filio helps organizations standardize field documentation without creating more admin work for crews. That has translated into faster reporting, clearer client communication, stronger support for inspections and claims, and less rework. Public customer stories highlight teams using Filio to reduce time spent assembling photo logs, replace multi-tool workflows with one system, and retrieve visual history in minutes when questions arise. Public customer examples and logos associated with Filio include HNTB, Geosyntec Consultants, HADCO Construction, Georgia Tech, ANS Geo, Matrix Engineering Group, Ram Pro Construction, and WRA Engineering. Filio supports modern field documentation workflows with maps, plan sheets, drawings, KML, KMZ, and GeoJSON GIS layers, as well as 360 capture workflows with Ricoh and Insta360 cameras. By combining mobile capture, AI organization, spatial context, search, reporting, and secure sharing in one platform, Filio helps site-based teams turn field visuals into searchable project intelligence that is easier to trust, faster to share, and more useful throughout the life of a project.

## Filio Reviews
  ### 1. Unreliable in the Field: Crashes, Sign-In Issues, and a Cumbersome Photo Log

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Geotechnical Geologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like how it creates a page for each project, uses tags, and can create a visual map for all of our current projects

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

How it depends on service/ internet. Half the time we do not have good service out in the field, and taking pictures on the filio app for project documentation seems risky because if service is lost, then the data/ picture can be lost too. That being said, I usually take pictures on my actual phone camera to avoid losing anything. It just is not that reliable of an app. Also, the app crashes a lot. Then, it would ask you to resign in, and not allow you to sign in, over complicating the entire process. Creating a photo log is also a bit more complicated then it has to be. When dealing with large projects, the pictures are too small to see so you have to click on each one to see what it is when re ordering for photo log. This could be improved.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I dont think it is solving any problems per se. It is beneficial for certain things like finding info on projects, but really that could be done via sharepoint. Having both sharepoint and filio I feel overcomplicates things; but I do understand the benefit of having filio for clients to view

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Michael, thank you for your feedback. We truly value your transparency, as it directly helps us refine the Filio experience for field teams. We are glad the project tags and visual maps are helpful, but our goal is to ensure Filio simplifies your fieldwork rather than complicating it.

Regarding your concerns about connectivity: Filio is built to work offline. Once you are signed in, you can capture photos without any cell service. Your media is stored securely on your device and will automatically sync once you’re back in range. We highly recommend using the app over your phone's camera to ensure all vital GPS metadata is preserved and organized.

To resolve the crashes and sign-in issues, please update to version 4.5.2. You can also optimize app performance by ‘Remove synced media’ to one or two weeks; this prevents local storage from slowing down your hardware.

Finally, we have improved the photo log process. Our new Gallery tab now lets you view images at full size before you select them, making it much easier to manage documentation for large projects.

We would love for you to give the updated version a try. Please reach out to us if we can help you navigate these new features.

  ### 2. Professional Final Reports and Versatile Real-Time Editing with Filio

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric T. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

The final report is excellent and adds a professional touch to our reports that our competitors are missing. Filio also makes it extremely easy to edit images and create figures in real time on whatever device you're using. It has been very easy to integrate into our company. All of our staff, including those who are not tech-savvy, find it very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

There have been no downsides to using Filio. The few times we have had an issue, the issue has been addressed immediately. The customer service is outstanding.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio allows our staff to collaborate with one another from multiple locations simultaneously. If any of our staff have a question regarding something that they are seeing in the field, we can immediately review their photographs with them in real time and resolve any issues or concerns. Filio's versatility allows us to use it for report attachments, vehicle maintenance, equipment calibrations, and general site observations.

  ### 3. Effective Tool for Structured and Visual Disaster Field Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashanth V. | Associate Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

What I like most about Filio is how easy it makes it to document field observations in a structured, visual way. During disaster fieldwork, the app let me capture photos, videos, and site conditions along with the surrounding context, which helped preserve details that often get lost with handwritten notes. The interface feels intuitive, and it was straightforward to organize observations in real time, even while moving between different affected locations.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

One limitation I noticed is that managing large media files requires careful planning during fieldwork. In areas with poor network connectivity, syncing data was sometimes slow, so uploads often had to be completed later. A more robust offline workflow and improved storage management options would make the field experience smoother.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio helps address the challenge of systematically capturing and revisiting disaster-affected sites after fieldwork is completed. Rather than relying solely on memory or scattered, fragmented notes, I can digitally return to the recorded locations and observations, which is extremely useful for analysis, reporting, and teaching. It also makes it much easier to communicate field conditions to people who were not physically present at the site, supporting clearer shared understanding, better collaboration, and improved learning outcomes.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Filio. We are glad it helped you document and communicate field conditions more clearly.

  ### 4. Seamless Data Collection and Reporting Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I love the ease of use with Filio. It's really easy to get in and start using it without a steep learning curve since it functions much like a phone camera, so there's no special learning needed. I also find the tags extremely helpful, being able to create pretty much endless tags and organize photographs in the field. This makes it easy to go back and find the information when needed. Filio syncing to the cloud ensures I don't have to worry about losing photographs and it makes report writing much faster. By using Filio to take pictures, add notes, and comments in the field, it really shortens up the report writing process, effectively saving time and of course money.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Filio is heavy on the battery, so sometimes we have to stop and charge our phone. The GPS tags aren't always as accurate as I would like, and it'd be nice to incorporate some sort of external hardware for more precise GPS locations. The initial setup process could be improved; it would be easier if the company could control the setup and send invitations via email.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio makes data collection easy and secures photographs by syncing to the cloud, preventing data loss from damaged devices or forgotten downloads. It speeds up report writing by enabling picture taking and note adding in the field, saving time and money.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Matthew, thank you so much for the wonderful review and for your continued support! It is always a pleasure working with you and your team, and we truly appreciate the constant feedback you provide to help us improve. We are thrilled to hear that the tags and cloud syncing are saving you so much time and money during report writing, that’s exactly the kind of impact we aim for. Regarding your feedback on battery life, GPS precision, and the invitation process: we are actually working on these areas right now. Thank you again for your valuable insights.

  ### 5. Effortless Collaboration, But Needs UI Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anuj P. | Associate Director of Fund, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I use Filio mainly for a class reconnaissance trip, and it's extremely effective. I find the ability to compile photos from almost 30 to 40 people in one location all synchronized very cool. The low barrier to entry is something I really like; all you need is a phone. It's easy to just download the app and use it anywhere without needing any extra equipment or a laptop.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

The app does have some glitches and bugs. I think if the user interface was a little bit more natural and smoother, that would be a lot nicer. I personally had some issues with the verification with the OTP code. I think there should be a way to do this in a better way in terms of just verifying with the code. That was pretty annoying.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio lets us compile photos from 30 to 40 people at one location in sync, making it very cool for class reconnaissance trips.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Anuj, thank you for your great feedback. I know how frustrating it is to deal with login loops when you are out in the field. I wanted to let you know that we are currently working on a smoother interface and a more reliable verification process. We really appreciate you helping us spot these. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to reach out at contact@filio.io anytime.

  ### 6. Effortless Photo Management but Needs Stability Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like that I can add notes and keep locations with Filio. I don't have to worry about adding storage space to my phone because I can upload everything that I need straight to Filio with no problem. I can then create organized reports from that. It's really important to have details about what you're taking a photo of, so being able to do that all in one spot is really helpful. It's a lot easier to do it right then and there when taking the photo, as opposed to writing it in a note somewhere else and correlating it later.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Sometimes the app crashes, which can be frustrating. Also, it can take a really long time to sync photos, and if you're taking a lot of photos on a site, it can only sync maybe five to ten at a time, or else the app will crash. So I think those are things that have caused some issues before.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio helps keep my photos organized and geotagged, which is crucial for my fieldwork. I can easily add notes and verify locations, and avoid storage issues by uploading photos. It's convenient to create organized reports directly from the app.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Jordan, thank you for the detailed feedback! We are thrilled that Filio is helping you stay organized with geotagged photos and instant reporting without cluttering your phone’s storage.

Regarding the crashes and syncing speed you mentioned, we have a few tips to help you:

1. Release Device Memory: If your phone is holding onto too much data, it can cause the app to lag or crash. We recommend going to the Data Collector app Settings > Data and Storage and setting the 'Remove synced media' option to one or two weeks. This automatically clears local storage, allowing your phone’s hardware to run the app much faster.

2. Background Syncing (iOS vs. Android): If you are using an iPhone or iPad, iOS often restricts apps from syncing in the background once they are closed. This is a behavior for Apple devices. Android devices are typically less restricted.

3. Pro-Tip for Fast Syncing: We recommend leaving the Filio Data Collector app open for a few minutes after you finish taking photos. This gives the system time to push those media to the cloud. And also once you are back on a stable internet connection, the process will speed up significantly.

Please let our team know if you run into any issues, and feel free to reach out to us at contact@filio.io anytime.

  ### 7. Streamlines Geotechnical Photo Management, Needs Better Organization for Large Reports

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like the built-in coordinate system and map that shows all previously completed projects. It's useful when I'm looking for something spatially. I also like being able to search by photo recognition key words. These features provide photo organization that, as a geotechnical team, are very useful to us and are not readily available when we store photos in simpler software. Filio helps streamline getting photo data from the field and prevents loss of information like missing photos or missing coordinates.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Organizing photos in photo reports, especially reports of a few hundred photos, could be improved. Maybe including the ability to assign each photo an index number rather than making drag/drop the primary organization method, or letting the user drag/drop with a photo label view instead of photo grid view. As of now, it takes a long time to move each photo through, and it can crash the program.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio streamlines getting photo data from the field and prevents information loss like missing photos or coordinates. It's essential for organizing field photos and gives our geotechnical team a useful coordinate system and map for locating completed projects.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi there! Thank you for the detailed feedback. We are glad the coordinate system and AI keyword search are helping your geotechnical team keep everything organized and spatially tracked.

Regarding those large reports: we hear you. Managing hundreds of photos via drag-and-drop can definitely be a chore. We actually have a major update specifically for large-scale reporting in the testing phase right now. It focuses on speed and stability for high-volume data, and we’ll definitely keep you updated as soon as it's ready for you to use.

Your ideas about index numbering and a list-style label view are fantastic suggestions that we'll share with our dev team. In the meantime, if the program ever hangs up while you are working on a report. Rest assured, every report you created/working on is saved in Report History. So you can easily jump back in and pick up exactly where you left off without losing any of your work.

  ### 8. User-Friendly with Effective AI Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amelia R. | Geologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like that Filio is, for the most part, user-friendly. It's very easy to upload pictures when in the field, and it's also easy to pull up said pictures and your projects. I also like the AI feature that it has when it comes to labeling different pictures. I found that helpful. With Filio being user-friendly, it's very easy to find the projects. Unlike with different platforms where you spend a lot of time just trying to find the project or the folder or the file that you're looking for, with Filio, it's much easier to track down all these different files because they're in a straightforward and simple location that's easy to find. The AI labeling is helpful because it saves me time since I don't have to take that time to label everything myself, and if I do need to change the AI labels, it's much easier to just change or edit those labels rather than having to rewrite my own entirely.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

One thing that I find frustrating is I can't really work in Filio and have the screen split on my laptop. When I try to split my screen, I don't have all the information there, which can be really frustrating when I'm trying to copy information from Filio into a different platform like Excel. So I find that to be frustrating that when I then tried to split my screen, the entire Filio screen changes. And it doesn't show all the information anymore.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio helps convey accurate coordinates and locations, mitigating communication issues between field staff and office team members. It allows us to access field logs online, eliminating the need to track them down manually.

  ### 9. Streamlines Photo Management for Remote Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Panchajanya G. | Senior Project Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I really like the AI tagging feature in Filio because it's incredibly useful for organizing and filtering photos. It's great to be able to just type a tag and automatically filter out relevant images, which makes the whole process faster. Additionally, the plan view feature is really useful. It allows me to know exactly where a photo was taken and in what direction, which is crucial when working remotely. Filio also helps us organize photos based on project numbers, which is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

We work from a different country, not the US, and it's really helpful if we can access the Filio website from other countries as well. Each time, we have to log in using a VPN, and for some reason, it slows down the browsing experience a bit. Another thing that could be improved is the preview feature of photos. Sometimes there will be thousands of photos, and we won't have time to go through all of them one by one as a large image. If there's a way to make thumbnails bigger or review multiple photos at once by scrolling through all of them, that would be very useful. Initially, there was no way for the team to give access to all folders to my email address. They had to do it individually, which could be improved by allowing access to all folders at once to a particular email address.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio enables me to access site photos remotely and understand existing conditions accurately. The plan view and AI tags are really useful, making it faster to filter photos, like isolating specific project images such as doors.

  ### 10. Great for jobsite documentation and fast reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reza M. | CEO/owner , Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

Filio gives us a reliable way to capture and organize jobsite photos/videos with clear timestamps and context, and then turn that into shareable reports. It feels built for construction workflows, not just general file storage.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

So far, I have not encountered any significant drawbacks. While occasional connectivity issues in the field are to be expected on job sites, Filio manages offline data capture effectively and synchronizes everything once a connection is restored

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio solves our biggest documentation and communication gaps between the field and the office. Instead of photos being scattered across phones and text threads, everything is captured consistently and stored with time/context so we can quickly find what happened on a specific day. That visibility reduces unnecessary site visits and speeds up decisions. It is also been a major risk-management tool for us, when disputes or false claims come up, we can pull the exact visuals and generate a report fast. We also use Filio reporting to support change orders by adding clear photos with descriptions and pricing, which reduces back-and-forth and helps approvals move faster.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share this. You made a really important point about generating reports quickly when it matters, especially for risk management and change orders, and that’s exactly the kind of outcome we aim to deliver.

  ### 11. Effortless Photo Documentation with Filio

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 14. Active Photo Logging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

Being able to actively upload pictures and have them immediately pop up for others on the website. How it uploads without having to be on the app.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

It is a little hard to edit the name of pictures once you add them, and potentially the organization of large quantities of pictures all at once when using the website. Another feature that would be nice to add is an option to save the selections on the pictures in a project, so that if another report with some changes need to me made, than someone doesn't need to go back and remake the selections they did before in a project.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The immediate and orderly way to upload pictures and track progress when in the field. To also produce reports with pictures we put in the app.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi! Thank you for your feedback! We are thrilled that you are enjoying the real-time photo logging and the convenience of background uploads for your project progress tracking.

Regarding your suggestions, we actually have a few features designed to solve those exact challenges:

1. Edit the name of pictures: To avoid the hassle of editing names manually, you can use our Media Naming Rule feature. This allows you to customize a naming pattern for the entire project so every photo captured follows the same format automatically. Link here: https://www.filio.io/academy/how-to-change-image-naming-rules-in-a-filio-project/

2. Saving Report Selections: You don't have to start from scratch. With our Report History feature, Filio saves a copy of every report created for a project. You can easily edit or make a copy of a previous report to make changes without re-selecting all your photos. Link here: https://www.filio.io/academy/what-is-report-history-and-how-to-access-it-in-the-filio-web-app/

Let us know if you have any other questions. Feel free to reach out to us at contact@filio.io if you would like a quick walkthrough of these features to help optimize your workflow.

  ### 15. Helpful for Tracking Jobsite Progress and Photo Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 19. Intuitive Interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arya D. | Estimating Assistant/Field Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I used Filio for documenting our journey through Sikkim, and it was great with helping document photo locations, which was really helpful when analyzing photos for our final presentation. I like its interactive user interface, which is relatively simple to use. I really liked how you could speak to the app, and it would document what you had to say for each of your photos. This feature makes things quicker, especially in fast-paced environments or while traveling.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

It was a bit laggy at times, but that may have had more to do with our remote location than the app itself. I think if it were able to sync quicker, that would be nice, but nothing's ever going to be truly instant.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio helps me document photo locations, making it easier to analyze photos later. The voice feature speeds up documentation, especially useful in fast-paced or travel situations.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> We are thrilled Filio helped streamline your documentation and final presentation! It’s great to hear the voice-to-text feature saved you time in the field. We have improved our sync speeds and offline experience to ensure seamless performance in remote areas. Thank you for the feedback!

I like that Filio shows the location the picture was taken as well as the direction in which the picture was taken. This helps me understand the location and what I’m looking at or how to find it. I also found the initial setup of Filio very easy.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Adding photos taken from your phone normally (not through the Filio app) doesn’t include the same location data. I often forgot to open the Filio app when I needed to take a picture quickly due to a lack of time.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio allowed my classmates and me to take and share pictures of disaster sites with location data attached, helping us understand the location and how to find it.

  ### 21. User-Friendly for Image Uploads, Needs Date Edit Feature

  ### 22. Effortless Photo Management for Field Projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** eshu p. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like using Filio because I can directly upload pictures for projects like field photos without saving them on my phone. I appreciate the edit option that allows me to edit location names and directly upload them into the project folder. As a field engineer with lots of pictures from different sites, Filio makes my job easier by organizing them into different projects. I also find Filio easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

It makes my phone slow. I guess they should make the storage of the app less.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Filio to upload data like field pictures without saving them on my phone. It lets me edit location names and uploads directly into the project folder, making it easier to manage multiple site images.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Eshu, thank you so much for your feedback. It’s awesome to hear that Filio is helping you manage all those site photos without cluttering up your personal gallery.

I noticed you mentioned the app has been slowing down your phone. Even though the photos aren't in your camera roll, the app sometimes holds onto a "cache" of synced data that can get a bit heavy over time.

To speed things up immediately, try this:

1. Open the Filio data collector app and go to Settings.

2. Tap on Data and Storage.

3. Set the "Remove synced media" option to one or two weeks.

This will automatically clear out the local storage for photos that are already safely backed up in our cloud, which should make your phone feel much faster.

  ### 23. Enhances Photo Management with Accurate Geo-Tagging

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debjit D.

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I use Filio for capturing photos and videos with location tags, which helps me remember places easily. A feature I really like is how it tags areas with geo-tags, making it easy for me to find those places later. It also aids my work by allowing me to add the address directly in the picture instead of manually typing it as a caption. Additionally, Filio lets me create or edit PDF or Word reports and back them up or save them in OneDrive or Google Drive. The initial setup was good, and overall, my team likes the Filio app.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

While it integrates with big names like Procore and Autodesk, it may not sync perfectly with smaller construction software. And subscription cost is also a bit more high according to me.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Filio to capture photos and videos with location tags, making it easy to remember and find places. It also helps me create and edit PDFs or Word reports, saving them to OneDrive or Google Drive.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to leave a review. On pricing, we hear you - budgets matter. We have worked hard to keep Filio budget-friendly compared to other platforms while still offering strong features for jobsite photo documentation and reporting.

  ### 24. Cooperative Methods for Data Collection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I have enjoyed being able to see data from our field staff in real time from anywhere I might be. I also enjoy the ability to view all of the coordinates or locations where each photo was taken.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Sometimes, the photo locations/coordinates are not syncing with where they were actually taken. I have also noticed that the photos I take will delete if I close out of the app or lose connection with the app due to poor connection.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio is solving the issue of being able to process real-time data in the field from a remote location. It brings the fieldwork directly to the office so that I can review procedures, photos, and field tests in real time.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi! It’s great to hear that Filio is successfully bringing your fieldwork into the office in real-time. That "bridge" is exactly why we built the platform!

Regarding your concerns, we want to clear a few things up because your data is much safer than it might seem. Here is what is likely happening under the hood:

1. On GPS Accuracy: Filio records your coordinates using your phone’s GPS hardware the exact second you take the photo, it doesn’t wait for a cell signal to "tag" it. If the location seems off, it’s often because photos were imported from the phone’s gallery (where metadata can get stripped) rather than taken directly inside the Filio data collector app. We highly recommend users to use the Filio data collector app to capture photos.

2. On "Disappearing" Photos: Rest assured, Filio never deletes your photos. If you lose connection or the app closes, your photos are stored securely in the device’s local memory. They might "hide" for a moment if a sync is interrupted, but as soon as you have a stable connection and open the app, they will finish their journey to the cloud.

We’d love to help you get this running perfectly. If you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at contact@filio.io.

  ### 25. Filio: Fragmented information to actionable insight

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** F. Albert L. | Associate Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I’ve been using Filio for many years since its very first version, and it’s one of the most thoughtful and well-designed productivity tools in my digital toolkit. What sets Filio apart is its combination of intuitive usability, intelligent organization, and a clean, distraction-free interface that genuinely helps you focus on what matters. From the moment you open the app, it’s clear that a user-centric design philosophy guided every decision. Filio offers powerful functionality without feeling overwhelming, and it strikes an excellent balance between simplicity and capability. Tasks, notes, reminders, and project workflows are presented in a natural, fluid way, reducing friction and making it easier to stay on top of your day.

Performance is smooth and reliable across devices, and synchronization is seamless, which makes Filio ideal for users who work across multiple platforms. What I value most about Filio is how it respects your workflow; it doesn’t force rigid structures or unnecessary complexity. Instead, it adapts to you, empowering you to organize your life in a flexible yet coherent way. Whether you’re managing personal goals, professional deadlines, or collaborative projects, Filio feels like an app built by someone who actually understands what it means to stay organized in a busy world.

If you’re looking for a productivity app that is both powerful and pleasant to use, Filio deserves a serious look. It’s one of the most polished, purposeful, and genuinely useful apps I’ve encountered, and it continues to evolve in ways that make everyday work and life smoother.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

In terms of the required 'dislike': Filio’s design philosophy prioritizes simplicity and focus, which means some features common in mature productivity ecosystems, such as extensive third-party integrations, advanced analytics, or highly customizable dashboards may be absent or still evolving. Users who rely heavily on tool-to-tool automation may need to supplement Filio with other applications.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio addresses a core problem I face in my professional work: the fragmentation of complex information across tools, formats, and timelines. In civil engineering, particularly in geohazards and post-disaster response, workflows are inherently multidisciplinary and fast-moving. Data, observations, interpretations, decisions, and follow-up actions are often scattered across emails, reports, notes, maps, and ad-hoc documents. Filio provides a coherent structure for organizing this complexity without imposing an artificial or rigid workflow. In my work, Filio functions as a central cognitive workspace in which technical notes, evolving hypotheses, field observations, insights from the literature, and action items coexist and evolve. This is particularly valuable in disaster response and geohazard assessment, where decisions must be made under uncertainty, information arrives incrementally, and priorities shift rapidly. Filio allows me to track what is known, what is uncertain, and what needs to be revisited - without losing context.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and for being with Filio since the early versions. We are thrilled to hear the app’s intuitive workflow, clean interface, and reliable cross-device sync have helped you stay organized. We also appreciate the feedback on integrations, analytics, and dashboard customization. Those are areas we are actively evolving, and your input helps us prioritize what to build next.

Thanks again for your support, and for sharing how Filio fits into your real-world workflows.

  ### 26. Precision and Collaboration Combined for Field Inspections

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Longde J.

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like Filio for its higher precision compared to the default Apple photo app, and the orientation features really help. The easy collaboration with colleagues on the same project is a great advantage. I find the custom format photo log generation for field inspections incredibly useful. It helps in identifying and visualizing issues in the office, which is beneficial for technical leaders to pinpoint problems and assess risks. The initial setup was super easy, and given these features, I'm likely to use it again for projects requiring photo documentation.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

If the web app directly saves data to corporate databases like OneDrive, it opens access to a lot of confidential projects.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio provides easy generation of photo logs in custom formats for field inspections. It offers higher precision, good orientation, and facilitates easy collaboration with colleagues, helping in identifying issues, visualizing problems, and assessing risks effectively.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thanks so much for the thoughtful review. We are really happy to see that Filio’s precision/orientation tools and the custom photo log reports are helping your team collaborate and spot issues faster. And we hear you on the confidentiality concern, data security is a top priority for us.

  ### 27. Geolocated Photos Make Test Locations Easy to Identify

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna C. | Geologist II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I think that photos are geolocated, it help identify what test locations pictures belong to if it was tagged incorrectly

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

I’d prefer that photos geolocate to where they were actually taken, not where they were uploaded. When cell service is poor, the location data can end up being misleading.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with reducing pictures taken on personal cell phones which can be lost or not accessible by everyone if they dont get uploaded in a timely manner

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Brianna, thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear that geolocated photos are helping you accurately identify your test locations and maintain organized project records.

Regarding your concern about location data: rest assured that Filio records the GPS coordinates at the exact moment the photo is taken, not when it is uploaded. Even in areas with poor or no cell service, the data is stored securely and will automatically sync to the cloud once you are back in range.

If you find the location is misleading, we highly recommend capturing media directly through the Filio Data Collector app rather than importing from your phone’s gallery, as mobile operating systems often remove metadata during the import process.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly at contact@filio.io if you’d like us to take a closer look at a specific project’s coordinates.

  ### 28. Reliable Project Reporting with GPS Precision

I am very happy with Filio because it is GPS location oriented, making it easy and friendly to use. I especially like how the location of the picture is linked with the project location, which is useful whether it's in the north or south of the buildings. This feature is great because it allows my manager to check exactly where a picture was taken without me having to explain. I think the setup process is user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

I want the video to be more like I can't just make some sketch map on the map if that's possible.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Filio solves manual updating issues by attaching pictures easily. It links picture location with project sites, which helps my manager verify locations without needing explanations.

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like that Filio is simple, fast, and accurate. I use it for work to take pictures of issues on building exteriors and mark their location, and the location feature is great because someone else on the team can go back and know exactly where the photo was taken. The initial setup was also very easy!

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Nothing at all!

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Filio to take and mark pictures of building exteriors quickly and accurately. Its simplicity and fast, accurate photo locations are great for showing exact spots, enabling team members to easily find them later.

  ### 39. Filio Makes Geolocation and Data Sharing Quick and Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed B. | Geologist I - Geotechnical, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

Filio makes geolocation and data sharing quick and easy.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Filio is very helpful. I once lost my data due to poor internet connection.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio is boosting condifence in data by showing location, and time of data collection. I don't have to carry a bunch of papers with me after I collect data.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Mohammed, thanks so much for your feedback. We love hearing that Filio is giving you more confidence in your data and, maybe more importantly, saving you from carrying around all that paperwork. That’s exactly what we are here for.

If you ever have ideas on how we can make your field days even easier, feel free to hit us up at contact@filio.io anytime.

  ### 40. Incredible Design and Exceptionally Helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parisa B. | Graduate Research Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Filio?**

Filio is a clear and easy-to-use. The design is clean and navigation feels natural. As a new users, I could understand it quickly. The main features work well and do not feel complicated. Overall I think it’s a solid and dependable product that is built with care.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

So far not much, although in the sign up it would’ve been nice to have the option of signing up with google account or apple.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unmanaged, disorganized project photos and videos. Anyone in the field knows the struggle of having a cluttered media app that’s filled up with random pics of walls and dirt.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thank you for the review! We are really glad your onboarding experience has been smooth and that Filio feels intuitive from day one. Appreciate the suggestion on Google/Apple sign-in as well. It’s great feedback and something we are actively considering to make signup even faster. If you ever want to share more input, we would love to hear it.

  ### 41. Easy Photo Logs and Tagged Field Docs That Keep Everything Organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I can create photo logs and organize field documents using tags, which makes it easier to keep everything sorted and find what I need later.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

It doesn’t import the time or location metadata from photos I import from my phone’s photo album. The website causes my browser to crash sometimes.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to maintain project photo storage without cluttering up folders in SharePoint. It keeps things simple when I’m naming and tagging photos, and it’s also helpful for geolocating photos from the field.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi! Thank you for your feedback! Regarding the missing time and location data: the reason this metadata isn't imported is that both Android and iOS devices often remove this information as part of their privacy settings during the import process. Once those files are uploaded from your gallery, the metadata is unfortunately no longer available for us to read. To ensure every image is accurately geolocated with its original timestamp, we highly recommend capturing media directly through the Filio Data Collector app. This ensures all your data remains intact and organized.

  ### 42. Real-Time Data Capture with Accurate Coordinates and Tags

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahsan J. | Geotech Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

It captures real-time data and, most importantly, records the coordinates and tags.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Sometimes the app hangs a little bit. It might be due to network issues, but I’m not sure.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me time and reduces the repetition of typing the same things over and over.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Ahsan, thank you for the great feedback! Regarding the app 'hanging': while this can sometimes be related to network issues, rest assured that Filio works even without cell service. Your media is completely safe; it is stored securely on your device and will automatically sync once you are back in an area with internet.

If the lag persists, it may be due to the device holding onto too much data. You can easily fix this by going to Settings > Data and Storage and setting the 'Remove synced media' option to one or two weeks. This releases storage and allows your phone's hardware to run the app much faster.

  ### 43. Fantastic Tool for Mapping Location-Based Changes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riley J. | Nuclear Structural Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I find Filio makes it very easy to take a series of photos and relate them to each other within folders. This is especially handy for comparing over time and space. It's also great because Filio was easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

I suppose Filio could be incorporated with more different applications, and the AI tool is improving, but it's not quite there yet.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Filio to document changes using location data and camera shots on a map, making it easy to get a comprehensive idea of shooting locations. It simplifies taking a series of photos, relating them within folders, and comparing over time and space.

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Thanks for sharing this. It’s great to hear Filio is making map-based field documentation easier, from quick setup to organizing related photos and comparing location-based changes over time. We also appreciate the feedback on integrations and AI as we continue improving Filio.

  ### 44. Easy to Use with Great Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak Kumar G. | Engineer 1 Geotechnical, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

It’s easy to use, and I love that I can add photos for each location so I can go back later and retrieve them.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

Sometimes it’s slow, and it also logs me out automatically pretty often.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

changing the user interface and making it little more defined

**Official Response from June Zheng:**

> Hi Deepak, thank you for your feedback! We are so glad that our location-based photo organization and easy retrieval features are helping you stay organized in the field.

Regarding the app feeling slow: since you are already on the latest version, the lag is likely because your device is holding onto too much local data. You can solve this by going to Settings > ‘Remove synced media’ option to one or two weeks. This will automatically release storage and allow your phone's hardware to run the app much faster.

Please reach out if you have any other questions!

  ### 46. Great for Field Uploads, But Photo Sync Depends on Service

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I like that I can use it out in the field and upload things right away, so other team members can access them while I’m still working.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

I don’t like that if I don’t have service, my photos won’t sync or upload.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filio solves the problem of scattered field data by keeping all logs, photos, and updates in one organized place. It helps me work faster and stay accurate by making everything easy to access and share in real time.

**Official Response from Max Roozbahani:**

> Hi there,

Thanks so much for the review and for using Filio in the field!

It sounds like your app might not be syncing in the background properly. Please email us ASAP at contact@filio.io so we can help you get this working right away!

In the meantime, here are three quick things to check:

Update the app: Older versions can sometimes have syncing issues.

Leave the app open: Please do not swipe up to close the app. It needs to remain open in the background to sync your media.

Check your data settings: Make sure Filio has permission to use both Wi-Fi and Cellular Data in your phone's settings.

Please shoot us an email so we can look into this for you right away!

Best,
The Filio Team

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I really appreciate how easy it is to take photos in the field, add descriptions and tags, and then port everything into a clean, well-organized report.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

I would like to be able to adjust a report I created and the edits reflect that in the medias section as well. There is a button to port it but it does not seem to work. Also the app does take a good bit to load up.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency with photos to report.

  ### 48. Filio Makes Field Photo Notes Fast and Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabby R. | superintendent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I am the one walking the job everyday taking construction site photos, and Filio makes it simple. I open the data collector app, snap photos, talk my notes, and move on. I don't have to type long reports at night. It feels like real construction management software that understands how busy the field is.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

took me a couple days to get used to tagging properly. But overall, it's great tool

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I spend less time explaining where a photo was taken because Filio tracks it. It helps our workflow stay organized without extra effort from me.

  ### 49. Filio Captions Are Very Helpful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Filio?**

I enjoy that it can give general coordinates and weather conditions with the photos in a photo log.

**What do you dislike about Filio?**

This might just be a software thing, but when I save multiple images it does not save them with their captions/titles so I have to go back and figure that out. Honestly, not a huge issue just a minor inconvenience.

**What problems is Filio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates a photo log very fast and that helps with organizing images for my work.
