## Elastic Path Reviews
  ### 1. Scalable and Developer-Friendly Commerce Platform for Complex Environments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murali M. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

Elastic Path’s API-first, composable architecture gives us complete flexibility to design and deliver digital commerce experiences exactly the way we want. It integrates smoothly with existing enterprise systems and enables a truly headless approach — which is great for teams that want to innovate rapidly without being limited by a monolithic platform. The developer-focused design, scalability, and responsiveness of their support team are also outstanding positives.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

The initial setup and learning curve can be steep, especially for teams new to composable or headless architectures. Some administrative tools and documentation could be more intuitive and consistent across releases. In addition, the out-of-the-box analytics and personalization features are limited compared to more traditional platforms, meaning a bit more effort is required to build those capabilities through integrations

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path helps us overcome the limitations of monolithic commerce platforms by offering a composable, API-first solution that fits neatly into our existing enterprise ecosystem. At Swisscom, this means we can integrate multiple digital products and services under a unified commerce layer while keeping front-end experiences independent and customizable. The platform’s flexibility has significantly reduced development time for new digital offerings, improved scalability, and allowed our teams to experiment and innovate faster without being constrained by legacy systems

  ### 2. Seamless Flexibility for Complex Marketplaces

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole L. | Head of Brand Partnerships, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

What I appreciate most about Elastic Path is how seamlessly their composable architecture supports the complexity of our marketplace. As a fast-moving platform with diverse brand partners, we need a system that is both flexible and highly customizable, and Elastic Path delivers. We can easily configure and add fields as our requirements evolve, which allows us to scale without compromising operational efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

At this stage, there are very few real downsides. As with any rapidly growing platform, there are occasionally small features or enhancements that would make certain workflows even more efficient. However, Elastic Path has been consistently receptive to feedback and proactive in incorporating customer input into their roadmap. Their responsiveness and willingness to evolve have minimized any challenges we’ve encountered.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path enables us to manage a multi-brand marketplace with flexibility and control, solving the challenges that typically come with operating a complex, evolving product catalog. Their composable approach allows us to tailor data structures, product attributes, and workflows to the specific needs of our business without relying on rigid templates or heavy development cycles. This really helps to improve operational efficiency, and allows us to scale our marketplace quickly and confidently as our requirements grow.

  ### 3. Easy to Use with Powerful Tracking and Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

What I like best about Elastic Path is how easy it is to use while still offering powerful tracking capabilities. The platform’s intuitive interface makes it simple to manage products, pricing, and integrations without unnecessary complexity. At the same time, its robust tracking and reporting features provide clear visibility into performance, making it easier to monitor changes, identify issues, and optimize workflows. This balance of usability and insight helps teams work more efficiently and make informed decisions quickly.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

What I dislike about Elastic Path is that some advanced features have a steep learning curve and require more technical knowledge to configure and maintain. Certain customizations and integrations can be time-consuming, and the documentation, while helpful, can sometimes feel fragmented, making it harder to find specific guidance quickly. As a result, onboarding new users or making complex changes may take longer than expected.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path helps us solve the challenge of efficiently creating and managing coupon codes for influencer campaigns. It lets us generate, track, and control unique discount codes from one centralized system, which makes it much easier to attribute results to specific influencers. Overall, this improves our campaign organization, cuts down on manual work, and gives us clearer insight into which partnerships are driving conversions and revenue.

  ### 4. Powerful Composer System for Flexible Customisation and Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atul G. | Senior Principal Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

The best for our use case was the composer system that can enable us to do any kind of customisation and integration with external systems. We just loved it

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Though it can support localisation and has a good support for multi currency setup but localisation is kind of limited and for multi currency there is no automatic currency conversion at run time. These feature lags the complete enterprise experience

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are struggling with our Shopify store and it's customisations due to our custom requirements. We composer it can provide us lots of flexibility to enable customisation and definitely the headless checkout that we wanted from long time.

  ### 5. Flexible Solutions with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh K.

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

I like that Elastic Path is headless commerce, making it easy to integrate with any content management system or platform. It's very flexible because it provides specific accelerators tailored to our application's needs. Their support team is great; they usually respond within a day and are very supportive. I also value the unique application-oriented accelerators they provide, which include solutions for pricing issues and login problems. The commerce manager LDAP accelerator, in particular, helps solve our login issues effectively.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Cortex server startup logging can be improved. From logs very difficult to find the server startup issues. Out of the box analytics tools can be improved further. They are using Eclipse RCP in commerce manager and it is very difficult to customize. Initial setup is very tough actually.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path's headless commerce fits our design, provides accelerators for unique application needs, and solves pricing and login issues. However, the initial setup is tough.

  ### 6. Reliable, Scalable Commerce Platform with Endless Customization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Principal Architect | API Strategist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

I have used the Elastic Path-hosted java commerce solution, which comes with source code and a good set of build tools and environments. We use AWS and MySQL on Aurora. The reliability is excellent and the customizations, while challenging at times, are endless. Over time, this part of the story has been improving with their extension framework design.

The system performance is really good, with no known bottlenecks on our international commerce site. We store 500k products and 11 price lists, all without any trouble. They have the ability to scale the system with more commerce API instances, but so far we have not had to do so.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

It does require a developer highly skilled in Java enterprise (Spring) development to perform customizations. The hosting team does expect some knowledge of the underlying deployment architecture, but they have been really good at supporting the solution over multiple years. Also, the upgrade process is slow and expensive. That has been improving, but still a large effort.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a large catalog with huge product descriptions. We also have pricing in 11 different currencies. EP can handle this amount of data well and includes integration to Bloomreach search for discovery and faceting. The web API is easy to use and we run our front end in Drupal, making API calls to Elastic Path during search, browse, carting and ordering.

  ### 7. Unparalleled Flexibility and Top-Notch Support with ElasticPath

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Surendra P. | Chief Architect and Sr. Backend Engineer (remote consultant), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

ElasticPath is an excellent eCommerce solution for those looking to create an e-commerce platform. Its headless architecture allows you to implement your business rules on the backend while giving you the freedom to select from various front-end technologies. Additionally, the licensing includes the extension source code out of the box, which we were able to modify as needed. This provided us with exceptional flexibility. The support team is outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

We found very little to dislike about the ElasticPath suite itself. However, the compute and memory requirements needed to host the solution are not particularly friendly for microservices environments. When we migrated from EP6 to EP8 in 2024, there was no support for K8s, though perhaps that has changed since then. Additionally, their reliance on EHCache, which is not distributed, limits scalability.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path's headless architecture turned out to be the perfect solution for our needs, as our storefronts are managed by various customers and hosted within Bloomreach CMS. This approach provided exactly what we were looking for, something we couldn't find with any other provider.

  ### 8. Elasticpath: Great Evolution, Excellent Support, and Easy Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sai Krishna Teja K. | ElasticPath Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

I have been using Elasticpath from 2017 and it has evolved a lot. The customer support is quite good and the Ease of integration and use is commendable and I love it.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

I don't like the cache mechanism where it can switch to centralized cache mechanism.

It has provided a complete e-commerce solution with many inbuilt capabilities, and it can be customized according to customer needs, such as the pricing policy concept for Swisscom.

As regards efficiency, we now have the potential to do 10x of what our old systems used to be able to do from a very wide Elastic Path competitor. And with the Commerce UI, our business executives will change the catalog and deals directly, instead of trying to open a ticket with the technical staff.

  ### 16. Best Next Generation Commerce Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam G. | Co-Founder/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

Their API is super lightweight and fast, allowing really rapid development cycles. The Flows concept is fantastic and let's you quickly extend and customize all core objects to fit your business as well as create new objects to store custom data. The Observables concept is really exciting to be able to create decoupled architectures for more modern software that notify each other of changes in the downstream system.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

The Customer Object not being Observable is a big miss and needs to be added ASAP!

**Recommendations to others considering Elastic Path:**

Moltin is going to be one of the key players shaping the future of ECommerce and provides a really solid foundation for microservices/next generation architectures.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've developed multiple innovative use cases around in-store customer experience, customer support and more using Moltin's product as the foundation.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

One of the best.

Their API is very fast, Lean and mean allowing developers to rapidly develop mobile and web apps. The Flows is Amazing. Moltin API follows a microservice architecture that enables you to plug commerce into any part of your application. The API is built on the JSON API specification, follows predictable REST URLs and supports cross-origin resource sharing. You can customize and modify the core objects and rapidly extend and customize all core objects to fit the business needs, as well as create new custom data. The Observables concept is really what I like. You can create decoupled architectures.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Well nothing so far that I found, but stay tuned. I am still feeling like a child in Toy Store.

**Recommendations to others considering Elastic Path:**

The Moltin API is the way to go if your building modern mobile or web app, for any commerce. It enables you to plug commerce into any part of your application. The API is built on the JSON API specification, follows predictable REST URLs and supports cross-origin resource sharing.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile and web apps for e-commerce

Elastic Path is an API-first commerce platform. The REST-Level 3 API is quite versatile that can be consumed from CMS, Mobile, IoT, Voice platforms. Projects implementing Elastic Path platform can integrate checkout experience on multiple devices providing seamless user experience.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

There are not many examples of consuming REST-Level 3 APIs although Elastic Path has recently come up with React PWA Reference Storefront https://github.com/elasticpath/react-pwa-reference-storefront which is quite helpful to get going.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because it is an API driven commerce platform, it is quite flexible to integrate with different CMS platforms from Drupal to AEM to Sitecore

  ### 21. The future is here!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

The support from the guys at Moltin is incredible. Also, the ease of use and flexibility is something else compared to other solutions like Magento.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Not much for now. Maybe more features in the backend to get near the functionalities that are usually in other platforms.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Development costs and server costs are slashed big time compared to Magento for example.

  ### 22. Modern DevOps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Senior Commerce Architect, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

Having been through the process of evaluating and kicking the tires on the CloudOps infrastructure Elastic Path provides, I can confidently say it surpasses what any other platform I've worked with provides, and I've used a lot of leading packages.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

The CloudOps package still isn't perfect, and requires some fumbling through the documentation to understand all of the bits and pieces, but once you work through it, the deployment is incredibly straight forward, single button type environment builds.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modern cloud infrastructure deployment, and fast time to market are two of the main benefits of the Elastic Path stack. Integrating with a best of breed CMS to deliver great experience, and then to be able to use hte cloud products to quickly make changes and test those changes, is wonderful

  ### 23. Best Headless Commerce Solution we could find

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

When we built a new digital commerce solution, we needed one that was extensible and flexible enough to meet the needs of the business. We also wanted a solution that was API first, rather than the traditional big iron monolithic solutions. Elastic Path gave us all this in spades, and continues to meet the performance and business needs. The core platform is solid, and the ease of adding modules that extend the core functionality were also big points that validates our decision to go with Elastic Path.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Upgrading the software needs to be planned well if you make a lot of customization. It's not daunting, but should be managed well.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our speed to react to changing business needs has improved quite a bit. What used to be a several months or even year+ project now typically gets done in a fraction of the time. In terms of performance, we now have the capability of handling 10x of what our old systems from a very large Elastic Path competitor used to be able to do. And with the Commerce UI, our business teams can make changes directly to the catalog and promotions rather than having to open a ticket with the technical teams.

  ### 24. They are so helpful and the product is the best in the field

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

The staff is so helpful. They provide a really good solutions to what we need. They are the best in the field

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Only the login page. It sometimes doesn't redirect you to the dashboard

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed users to add products to anonymous carts and we get what we need. We will integrate Moltin to our projects even more

  ### 25. Implementation of EP for a Telecom.

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

I like the idea of a change set, and being able to add multiple items to a change set.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

I dislike having to connect in via a remote Windows desktop since I'm on a Mac.

**Recommendations to others considering Elastic Path:**

It's vital to know that a name of a promotion can only be used once, and that it's a hassle to do all the work when there's already that existing name in the system.

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are integrating our marketing efforts with promotions we run on our ecommerce site.

  ### 27. API Enterprise eCommerce platform perfect for Digital Goods and Services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

Elastic Path is a great commerce solution for those promoting digital codes and services. I love EP's Coretex API technology. It allows you to deliver consistent, real-time transactional data to everyone of your customer channels beyond desktop/mobile from the largest digital billboards and kiosks to the tiniest wearables including Google Glass. EP seamlessly integrates into CMS / marketing platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager and OpenText CEM. I also enjoy the advanced bundling, live authoring personalized mechandising, and product information management features that come ready to use out of the box. EP's subscription billing option is second to none.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

EP is a great solution, although it's price point is not targeted toward SMB. There no SMB options.

**Recommendations to others considering Elastic Path:**

When selecting Elastic Path, I would consider:
- Do you sell digital goods or services?
- Are you looking for an Omni-Channel Solution that has the ability to connect above and beyond into digital magazines, mobile and web applications, advertisements, kiosks, wearable technology and more
- Do you have a need to service commerce customers with a recurring billing solution>
- Do you require personalization, advanced bundling?
- Do you require advanced product information management?

**What problems is Elastic Path solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Elastic Path's API Coretex solution allowed for the platform to embed commerce in spaces that a traditional "built-in" CMS would not allow for -- meaning access to newer and digital channels that have never been accessible. Definitely a future proofed model. EP's subscription engine has made reoccurring billing a breeze.

  ### 28. Difficult to customize and requires lots of it

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Elastic Path?**

Some of their consultants were superb.

**What do you dislike about Elastic Path?**

Almost all customers will have to customize the application but it really isn't built for extensions so everything is difficult and it takes much longer than expected to get everything done. You are always afraid that you are breaking some important portion of the system even with simple customizations.

Many of the out of the box features don't work when you have millions of page views or products.

**Recommendations to others considering Elastic Path:**

Think long and hard before going with this option. There are likely better choices.
