These aspects allow for the ease in the way of having a structured risk management and compliance procedure. **What do you dislike about Diligent One Platform?** Some issue we has encounter with Diligent One Platform is that its is highly dependent on internet connection. Data availability is always a concern when networks are unavailable or unstable since getting to material, data and information required for daily processes becomes a challenge. Further, the risk templates though effective do not necessarily cover certain specialties of specific industries that might require integrating policies from different templates so we end up having to engage extra time in the modification. **What problems is Diligent One Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The work of Diligent One Platform had been very helpful in raising risk awareness up and down our organization. We’ve also greatly reduced non compliance incidents because of its automated alerts and reminders to make sure no task gets missed. Finally, the data visualization tools have made us all better at identifying and prioritizing risks so that we can allocate resources better. This has become a proactive culture in the team, where we’re constantly looking to understand the risks and then managing them before they congeal. ### 12. It has an easy to use interface and helps you to manage your audits, risks and compliance tasks very easily. Data sharing can be done seamlessly by integration with Microsoft Excel and cloud storage. Our customizable dashboards and reporting features have greatly improved how we track all of our key metrics and performance across our organization. **What do you dislike about Diligent One Platform?** Diligent One Platform’s steep learning curve is one of its downsides for the uninitiated. Though the platform is packed with power like risk assessment tools and custom reporting, it's not great for beginners to get started with. Users, most in particular the new ones, find the onboarding process too long. Also, the collaboration feature is more seamless in the real time perspective and you can also update it in real time mode, however sometimes due to multiple users typing on the same report, there is a delay. **What problems is Diligent One Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The GRC processes are now greatly streamlined by Diligent One Platform. This helps us collect everything to risk, audit, and compliance into one place, all without the need for additional tools. Automation features save us time for activities like reminders and follow ups, which are recurrent. We consolidate everything, which has greatly improved our teams collaboration, accountability, and accuracy. We have appreciably improved our decision making and made our operations better. ### 15. I do like how I’m able to customize the workflow and the way the data flows well with our document management system and ERP. The platform’s features are powerful, but if a company doesn’t need all those advanced features, the cost will probably be too high. The ability to automate audit tests of controls and create continuous monitoring over key risks has created significant gains in efficiency and allows me to know that I am auditing the right things at the right time. The agility of the plaform has also allowed me to seamlessly integrate the first and second line into our risk/complaince program, creating an end to end solution that provides value and insight across the organziation. Diligent has also been an excellent partner in adopting new features and driving innovation. There is no two linking between the work paper and record of work performed. The ability to take large datasets and analyze them quickly with repeatable scripting and an easy-to-understand language is an amazing value. Utilizing output from those analyses into an end-to-end process for documenting project objectives and risks adds tremendous value. **What do you dislike about Diligent One Platform?** I wish it was clearer how Galvanize's toolsets work together, and I would like to see more intuitive interfaces for the user. Also, performance on relatively simple operations in Results and other HighBond modules needs to improve. More clarity about how the tools work technologically would be incredibly helpful, as would more robust documentation and help on integrating Galvanize's toolsets with other powerful tools for analysis and visualization. I would like the ability to more effectively use the tools without having to rely on expertise from Galvanize. Training and other resources on how such tools as Python and R can be used alongside Analytics/HighBond/etc. would be a great area to build out, as I don't currently see a lot of information out there about those areas. I would also like to hear more about how Galvanize's products can integrate with Power BI and Tableau. We also have noted, however, that the tools can be unstable and take too long to complete operations, sometimes crashing. Edit: Diligent has acquired Galvanize. Other tools, like Arbutus and Alteryx are gaining traction as alternatives, mainly due to a lack of feature growth with Analytics/HighBond and some uncertainty about the corporate/technical direction with Diligent's products (Analytics, HighBond, etc.) after they acquired Galvanize. The likely direction is for Diligent to go away from the proprietary Analytics scripting language toward the use of Python within an "HCL" (HighBond Command Language) product; once that happens completely, this review score will decrease further, as technical users could simply create Python code and have better collaborative/interactive/robust reporting much cheaper, and non-technical users will be unable to develop with the tool or easily gain insight through analysis of the data via front-end. The powerful value this productset still contains is directly tied to the ACLScript programming language and its ability to process large amounts of data with quick insights for non-technical users...features that are accessible more and more by other products. So, once Diligent loses ACLScript, the remaining products, such as HighBond Results and Robots, will still be decent, but will lack in value significantly compared with other data analytics toolsets. If you're building a new data analytics solution, I wouldn't use Diligent's products unless something changes in perceived corporate direction with their analytics tools. I would suggest considering Alteryx if you have the budget or Arbutus Analyzer if you need to be very cost-conscious. If you have Analytics/HighBond solutions now, I would recommend looking into converting to another product within the next 6 to 12 months, as many of our Customers have done or are doing now. This review saddens me greatly, but it is my honest assessment. We have also developed additional invoice tests not performed by management and defined data sets from the Mainframe system for the accounts payable department. Using HighBond, we have enhanced manual reviews performed by IT risk management through automation and developed the ability to quickly provide feedback and allow timely remediation of identified issues. Assisting corporate security with investigations by analyzing data is another area where we have been able to add value. Two main challenges we overcame (and our solutions) were creating data analytics programs that were repeatable and output results in a measurable or auditable way. We created ACL script libraries to automate everything from importing data exports (Excel and PDF files) from the many different systems to sending notification emails once the analytics complete execution with a link to the shared folder containing the results. We built a graphical user interface out of the dialog function with options so anyone in the department could run the analytics without having to run individual scripts. For audit purposes, we created a risk rating method for transactions flagged by the analytics. This assigns a high, medium, or low risk rating to every flagged transaction using the average, standard deviation, and statistics functions. We added methods in the scripts to allow us to trend our analytics results over time giving management insight into performance indicators that they did not previously have. **What problems is Diligent One Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Highbond technology improved efficiency and coverage by combining decentralized datasets related to employee expenses into a single source for analysis. A library of 74 scripts with over 40 test cases was developed in ACL to identify issues ranging from fraud to policy gaps. We have been able to successfully implement continuous monitoring for all employee expense activity over the last 18 months. As a result, audit rules within the employee expense application have been improved to prevent exceptions that were not previously flagged and broadly defined expense guidelines are in the process of being transformed into updated policies and procedures. The employee expense analytics performed with ACL resulted in over 4,000 transactions being reviewed during 2018, totaling upwards of $2M. We identified over 800 exceptions of which 20 percent were related to policy non-compliance, 4 percent were related to policy enhancements, and 2 percent required additional review for potential fraud or other reasons.
