## Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) Reviews
 ### 1. Strong Technical Analysis, Needs Improved Competitor Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshada B. | Senior Specialist

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I find Lumar's technical analysis report to be really good and quite competitive in the market. It is especially helpful in identifying pages that are linked and unlinked through the crawl, which is great for getting to know any website. This feature was quite beneficial while analyzing a website, especially for our team, which was new to the organization, as it helped us to understand the purpose of each section. Additionally, the initial setup of Lumar was quite easy.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

We did not receive much in terms of competitor metrics. It mainly targets the technical part of SEO, so I feel the main downside is the lack of competitor data. Overcoming this could make it one of the best tools.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar provides a competitive technical analysis report and helps my team, especially being new, understand website structure by showing linked and unlinked pages.

 ### 2. Lumar has been a great addition to my SEO tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ash J. | Head of SEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar has been a valuable SEO tool for our team. Being a cloud-based solution means we can schedule crawls at times that work best for us, without tying up local resources. The ability to extract exactly the data we need is incredibly helpful, especially thanks to their powerful custom reporting and filtering features. It gives us the flexibility to analyse our site in the way that makes the most sense for our goals, its like having a personalised tool. The account support is also a huge benefit, Odette's support has been great.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It does feel like there is a lot of data and reports to get through but have a dedicated account manager you soon get the hang of it.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to see the impact our changes are making on a technical level and with this all being scheduled I can come in on a Monday knowing what tasks to action for the week.

 ### 3. Lumar as best friend to any business.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donika S. | Digital Marketing Manager / Web Designer / Content Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar is offering everything at one place. There is no need to use a lot of tools to get the result you are after within your business no matter if your website is just getting started or it's been there for a while. It provides AI optimization website monitoring, site migration, technical seo audit, SEO strategy. Such services are usually highly paid and not many companies would offer that for businesses as one platform. So with one shot every business would have all needed for its success.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I would say what I dislike about Lumar is that it is not available as a plugin on Wordpress.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe it solves ranking better than other website.

**Official Response from Katerina Hristova:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words and for highlighting the value you’ve found in Lumar, we’re thrilled to hear that having everything in one place is helping your business succeed.

We also really appreciate your feedback about WordPress. While we don’t currently offer a plugin, we love hearing user suggestions as they help us explore what we could potentially look at in the future.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it means a lot to us!

Best,
Kat

 ### 4. Extremely useful SEO tool that allows us to monitor more than just our main domain.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The out of the box views & data visualisations are brilliant. It really helps bring our SEO monitoring to life, in particular technical SEO.

The push for new features and AI integration have really helped develop the user experience, and ease of implementing SEO fixes when speaking to developers. This is a tool we now use on a daily basis.

The customer support, and in particular our success manager is brilliant at keeping the team in the know of new features, and never hesitates to jump on a call to talk through queries the team may have.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The only thing that would be beneficial is if you could crawl on a VPN, to better access staging environments etc.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing us to improve the relationship between tech and SEO, with the ability to look at other domains, and send fixes to those teams that manage the subdomains. The visuals in particular allow us to better communicate the value and benefits of making certain fixes. For examples subdomains that are indexed and taking away from our crawl budget.

 ### 5. Great insights and reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar is probably the most widely used tool within my team for technical SEO analysis. That’s due to the extensive range and depth of insights it’s able to provide.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The cost, although you do get what you pay for!

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s consistent useful for resolving routine technical hygiene issues, but the level of insight means it’s a go to for more complex technical challenges.

 ### 6. Great tool for Technical SEO, for large, complex websites.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orovic L. | SEO Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

From the technical point it covers everything I could think of.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Options for keyword research are limited

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can help you find NOINDEX pages, which is a number one thing I look on large websites. Site structure is where Lumar really shines.

**Official Response from Katerina Hristova:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback, we’re delighted to hear that Lumar covers everything you need from a technical perspective, especially for large and complex websites.

Best,
Kat

 ### 7. Lumar has become an indispensable tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

In addition to the enterprise level crawling and analysis (which comfortably handles millions of URLs, before providing effortless visualisation and exportable reports) what sets Lumar apart is the level of support. As an enterprise client, I'm constantly juggling multiple priorities, while also searching for the highest leverage opportunities. The support layer from Lumar on top of the technology stack gives me piece of mind. I trust and rely on the team.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I would love to see the service automatically vend more (AI driven) recommendation (post crawl) of changes/fixes, which could go into a 'task list' to review.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Lumar heavily for pre/post launch website monitoring, to identifying changes in our site architecture when we make large scale user changes, and to debug at a scale that human simply can't handle. We don't see Lumar as an SEO tool, it's a key partner of our Product Management toolbox.

 ### 8. Site crawl review in no time!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The platform does good job of uncovering issues that are often not spotted with other platforms such as Semrush.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The main downsize is that it can get a bit pricy.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a e-commerce client, Deepcrawl helped us identify thousands of duplicate product pages caused by URL parameter variations. Which ended up saving us a lot of time and resources on the project.

**Official Response from Katerina Hristova:**

> Hello, and thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We’re so glad to hear Lumar is helping you uncover issues that other platforms might miss, and that it saved significant time and resources on your e-commerce project. That’s exactly the kind of impact we love to see.

We also appreciate your feedback on pricing. We’re always working to ensure the value our platform delivers matches the investment, and insights like yours are very helpful for us.

Best,
Kat

 ### 9. Difficult to Navigate

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The information is accurate, and reliable. Updates are made frequently.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It is extremely technical and hard to navigate. There isn't a lot of ease of use. It would have been nice if the layout didn't look like it was from 1992.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was really helpful in assessing SEO success.

**Official Response from Katerina Hristova:**

> Hello and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we really appreciate it. We’re glad to hear you find our data reliable and helpful for assessing SEO success.

It’s surprising to hear your thoughts on our UI design, as we often receive praise in this area, but your perspective is very valuable to us. We’d love the opportunity to learn more about your experience and hear any specific suggestions you might have for making Lumar easier to use. Your input helps us continue to improve, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly at marketing@lumar.io - and I’ll make sure to personally pick up your email.

Best,
Kat

 ### 10. My experience with Lumar

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea L. | SEO Sr. Content Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I have only used it on a superficial level. My team use it more than I and have heard amazing things. They really enjoy the experience the platform brings to them

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There’s really nothing for me to dislike. I believe it’s pretty intuitive.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has help us a lot with tickets between the dev and the seo team

 ### 11. Lumar is a great tool to keep track & optimize the performance of your website

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I have been using Lumar for the past 3 years as a very effective tool to keep track and optimize several websites in the company.
We use Lumar with crawls on a weekly basis that we later use to implement changes. I love the fact that I can add people to be notified for each of the projects we crawl so they can perform the needed tasks. Also as our websites are quite similar, having a comparable SEO score allows us to match the progress done in different projects.
I like that hints are provided everywhere by hovering on certain labels so it is easy to learn what certain metric is about.

A very interesting feature is the Traffic Funnel which quickly helps notice where problems might lie.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Sometimes identifying where an error is coming from (eg: 404s can be from pages in sitemap, crawl, google, etc)

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having an overview of many websites at once and quickly seeing which changes took place that we need to address.

 ### 12. Fast Crawl, Detailed Analysis with User Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | SEO Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar stands out for me with its impressive speed. It offers a comprehensive suite of reports covering technical SEO, site speed, and accessibility, which provide valuable insights for improving website performance. The tailored analytics feature is particularly useful, allowing us to customise reports to fit our specific needs. The platform's user-friendly interface makes navigating through its various features straightforward, helping us quickly identify areas for improvement to enhance performance. A special shoutout to the experts looking after our account, Rachael and Joshua, who have been exceptional in providing us with all the support we need to use the platform effectively.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The extensive range of features can initially be a bit overwhelming, especially for new users. It takes some time to get accustomed to the platform and make the most of its capabilities. However, the support team was great at providing us with the training we needed for a great experience.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying areas of improvement for the technical and on-page parameters of our website

 ### 13. A useful SEO tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I have been a Lumar user for around 4 months and I must say, it is a great tool! It makes my everyday work fixing technical SEO issues super easy, the UI is user friendly, and you won't have to bother watching tutorials to figure out what's where. The customer support is great, they answer fast and follow up when needed.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I don't like the fact that they take backlinks into account for 404s but they don't say where the backlink is coming from. This way it'srather hard to decide if the backlink is even valuable enough for fixing.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great everyday tool for everyday technical SEO fixes,

 ### 14. Great Partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar does an excellent job from both a support and tool perspective. I have gained many valuable insights from both the tool and technical SEO that has helped to support our overall SEO strategy as a business.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The UI can be a bit overwhelming at first. After you familiarize yourself with the UI, it becomes less daunting.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical SEO crawling at scale via the cloud so I don't have to overload my local machine.

 ### 15. Great Experience From Start To Finish

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There are loads of things I love about Lumar - I used it originally back when it was Deepcrawl and what blows me away is the level of auditing it provides from a technical SEO perspective. In the different roles I've had, I'll always advocate to have a lumar account.

From a usability perspective it's easy to filter and find out the info that you need. You even have the ability to select important pieces of info that are relevent for your task at hand and to export that data so you can continue your dive in excel if you prefer.

The level of support you receive is also fantastic. The Lumar team are always willing to help when you have questions around data, what it means and will provide support too (Shout out to Lilla for all the regex formulas she's helped me with!)

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Sometimes, if you have a large website it can take quite a while to crawl but to be honest, that sort of thing is expected.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a technical SEO specialist, I tend to use Lumar daily to help ideintify, deepdive and solve technical issues. If you're looking for in depth auditing, then Lumar is definitely the tool for it

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

> Hi Jenny, thanks for your review, and great to hear about your experience of Lumar! Just on the time to complete a crawl, we made some improvements to our crawler so it's now able to crawl as fast as your infrastructure allows (up to 350 URLs/s for rendered URLs in testing). We obviously limit crawl speeds to make sure there is no negative impact to your site, but if you speak to your dev ops team to identify what crawl rate your infrastructure can handle, then let us know and we can look at increasing the crawl rate for your account. Thanks, Andrew.

 ### 16. Great support services and a comprehensive crawling tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Fantastic pro-services team is there for anything we need in the world of technical SEO, from ad-hoc asks about setup and hreflang, to more in depth projects around internal linking.

Lumar's cloud-based crawler is able to handle our massive site with millions of URL's which is super helpful for analysis.

The amount of features can be a bit overwhelming, but the pro-serv team does a great job at highlighting issues that they have found for us to pay attention to.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Features can be a bit overwhelming for a one-man-band SEO team.

Pro-serv team aren't always completely business driven due to the focus on tech SEO, I'd like to see more emphasis on tying the technical SEO wins to actual traffic numbers and revenue - e.g we found and fixed issue Y, which lead to X% increase in traffic to that site segment.

I'd also like to see more initiatives coming from the team - e.g we think implementing this would be a big win, or we've seen great success with this project for another client, what do you think to trying this on your site.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solution that was able to crawl large programmatic sites with millions of pages and give us insights based on that data, as well as services to support our overall technical SEO strategy and execution, Lumar has definitely helped us achieve this.

 ### 17. Excellent tool and Consistent Professional Services Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abby P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The tool is great BUT the largest benefit of working with Lumar is having exposure and access to their expert staff - and I mean that seriously, they are experts as it relates to SEO. I worked with Lumar on a challenging suite of websites that had both technical and legacy issues that are still being unraveled but would have not been identified and clearly outlined for improvement were it not for Anne and Natalie. They're always clear in their findings and include information that all interested parties can digest. It's not easy to break down SEO issues that go beyond upholding best practices, but they manage to do it. We used Lumar weekly and in some cases daily to review and plan for critical repair work that needed to be done.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I wish the login prompt was a drop down vs. the modal? opening - half the time I don't track that it's opened and wonder why I'm not able to login!

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performing in-depth crawls and audits to illuminate issues that can be challenging to chase given the size and depth or our website.

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

> Hi Abby, thanks for your review. We'd love to hear a bit more about the login issues you're having, so we can feed this into our product management team. If you could send us some more detail through the app (use the smiley face in the bottom left corner of the app to give us feedback), we'd be really grateful. Thanks, Andrew.

 ### 18. Best Crawler and Customer Support in the industry!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturs . | Technical SEO Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar is a super helpful tool for checking out your website and making sure everything's running smoothly behind the scenes. It's seriously easy to use - quick and painless. I actually use it every single day.

But you know what makes Lumar even better? It's the customer support and this awesome person named Odette. They're like the superheroes of Lumar. Whenever I'm stuck or have a question, they swoop in and save the day with super speedy help. It's the reason I fell in love with Lumar in the first place. So if you need a hand with your website stuff, Lumar and their amazing team have got your back.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Frequent UI changes....actually, ignore me, the UI is great! :p

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar shines a light on all the tech and on-page problems your site might have. You can easily zoom in to see the nitty-gritty details when you need to. No rocket science involved.
It's great for daily monitoring. You get alerted when there's an issue with your top pages, so you don't have to check pages manually.

 ### 19. A great tool and a better partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew G. | SEO Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The crawl assessments by the Lumar team gives real context to the findings from the tool. We work together to make actionable User Stories for our dev team that lead to measurable impact on the site. We use a lot of tools that identify issues and insights, but Deepcrawl one of the elite few that leads to huge results!

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Whenever we have a minor issue with the account or tool, Lumar is quick to work with us and fix the issue. The platform is constantly evolving and getting better.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Lumar to help troubleshoot our technical concerns, which is a big deal for sites as large as ours. The crawls help us understand how Google understands our sites. We have a ton of site sections and limited bandwidth to cover them all. Lumar is our shortcut to making that possible.

 ### 20. An extension of your Tech SEO team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I am a big fan of Lumar and have used the tool and professional services team in several companies.

The Lumar tool is truly exceptional. It simplifies the processes of scheduling, storing, and analysing extensive crawl data. This convenience allows for easy identification of trends over time and facilitates the sharing of crucial crawl insights with the relevant teams. Having recent site-wide crawl data readily accessible to the entire team is particularly advantageous. It ensures that everyone is examining the same data, streamlining the process, and saving valuable time that would otherwise be spent running numerous smaller crawls on individual PCs.

The professional services team at Lumar is nothing short of exceptional. I genuinely view them as an extension of our own team, expanding our technical SEO capabilities and preventing issues from going unnoticed. What sets this team apart is their flexibility and willingness to delve into various aspects within the allotted hours. They frequently come to meetings armed with insights gathered from a wide range of sources, not confining themselves solely to the reports generated by Lumar (which, by the way, are also outstanding). Moreover, the team is highly accessible beyond scheduled meetings. They have supported us during routine business operations and have been instrumental in analysing crawls during migration processes.

Lastly, it's worth noting the continuous evolution of the Lumar tool and services. They consistently listen to customer feedback and make substantial improvements to the platform and their offerings, demonstrating their commitment to delivering top-quality solutions.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I wouldn't go so far as to say "dislike." Rather, I would suggest expanding the avenues for collecting customer feedback, such as incorporating focus groups and surveys. This approach will help guarantee the ongoing enhancement and expansion of the platform.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar is helping us monitor our sites from a technical SEO perspective; identifying issues Googlebot and users may encounter on our site and helping us resolve them.

 ### 21. Excited to dive in

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Comprehensiveness and speed of crawl results

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Nothing as of yet, new user, need more time to utilize the tool fully

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comprehensive crawling for improving SEO and accessibility issues across our web properties

 ### 22. Excellent solution for E-commerce businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niels H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

What I like most is that the we are always getting excellent help by the team of Lumar. The solution is itself is perfect for spotting errors and optimizing technical SEO. With crawl on crawl comparisions, priority labels, segmentations, tasks, server logs analysis we can easily fix and improve our site.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The downside is that the costs are reasonably high. Also the monitor part could be further improved. Ideally we would like to get a trigger if any tech/dev changes are made in any part on our site. Robots, txt, hreflang, sitemap etc. Some parts are still missing and it takes still quite some manual work to set this up.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many problems. 404 pages, broken internal links, canonical issues, orphan pages etc.

 ### 23. Great SEO tool

 ### 25. A Game-Changer for SEO Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João Filipe P. | Senior SEO & Marketing Growth Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

As an SEO Senior Manager with eight years of experience, I've had the opportunity to work with various SEO tools, including Botify and Oncrawl, in the past. However, since switching to Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl), I couldn't be happier with the results.

One standout feature that I truly appreciate is the Monitor Report. This tool is a game-changer, especially for large corporations like ours. It empowers different squads and product managers to gain deep insights into the impact of their actions on various page types. The clarity and effectiveness of the Monitor Report's charts are remarkable. You can conduct a profound analysis and compare your website's evolution in seconds. This is crucial for making data-driven decisions and ensuring our SEO strategies are on the right track.

Furthermore, Lumar's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for team members with varying levels of technical expertise to navigate and extract valuable insights. The software's overall performance and reliability have exceeded my expectations.

While I am intrigued by the concept of the Protect feature, I have not had the opportunity to explore it fully at this time. Therefore, I can't provide a comprehensive review of this particular aspect of the tool.

Lumar has transformed how we manage, analyze SEO data, and communicate SEO. Its Monitor Report is a powerful asset, and the user-friendly interface is a definite plus. While it's already an exceptional tool, enhancing data manipulation options would take it to the next level.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

While Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) is undoubtedly a top-class SEO tool and, in my opinion, the best in the market, there are some areas where it could improve. One notable limitation is the inability of users to easily manipulate the data of each crawl to build their custom tables of analysis. Customization is critical in the world of SEO, and having the flexibility to tailor data presentation to specific needs would be a significant enhancement.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comprehensive Website Crawling and Monitoring: One of the primary challenges in SEO is ensuring that all pages on a website are crawled and indexed by search engines. Lumar automates this process, ensuring that all pages are discovered and monitored. This benefits us by providing confidence that our entire website is optimized for search, reducing the risk of essential pages being overlooked.

Effective Data Visualization: Lumar's Monitor Report is a game-changer regarding data visualization. It presents complex SEO data clearly, concisely, and visually appealingly. This benefits us by making it easy for different teams and product managers to understand the impact of their actions on various page types. It streamlines decision-making and helps us prioritize our SEO efforts effectively.

Timely Issue Detection: SEO issues can arise at times, and identifying and addressing them promptly is crucial. Lumar's monitoring capabilities enable us to detect issues like broken links, duplicate content, or other technical SEO problems early on. This early detection prevents potential drops in search rankings and helps maintain a positive user experience.

Performance Tracking Over Time: Understanding how our website's SEO performance evolves is essential for making data-driven decisions. Lumar allows us to track changes and improvements in our SEO metrics, ensuring that we can accurately measure our strategies and tactics' effectiveness.

User-Friendly Interface: Lumar's user-friendly interface benefits us by making it accessible to team members with varying levels of technical expertise. This ensures everyone on the team can navigate the tool and access the insights they need, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Competitive Advantage: Using Lumar, we gain a competitive advantage in the SEO landscape. It enables us to stay ahead of the competition by proactively addressing issues, optimizing our website for search engines, and making data-backed decisions that drive organic traffic and revenue growth.

Lumar can significantly improve communication and collaboration within a company when it comes to SEO.

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

> Hi João, thank you so much for your review! We'd love to hear a little more about the manipulation of data to build custom tables that you mentioned. If you could send us some more detail through the app (use the smiley face in the bottom left corner of the app to give us feedback), we'd be really grateful. Thanks, Andrew.

 ### 26. Lumar is THE best website intelligence tool that exists today

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AnnaLea C. | SEO Consultant & Writer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar is the premiere tool for website intelligence! As someone who has worked in SEO for 10+ years, I've never seen a tool encompassing technical SEO, staging QA, page speed, website performance, UX insights, content insights, AND accessibility. I've tried to bring Lumar to every company I've worked at. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get us across the line due to budget limits. But Lumar is well worth the costs!

Outside of the tool itself, the team at Lumar is incredibly smart and patient and truly engrains themselves into your company. Lumar acts as an extension of your internal SEO team. Lumar not only helped me understand how to use the tool, but they are also teaching me how to communicate to our Dev team to get technical SEO tickets into their sprint plans. I've never been more grateful and impressed with technical SEO services as I have been with Lumar. Every person at that company deserves a raise.

Lumar is paving the way for the future of website intelligence. If you're not using them yet, you should plan to include them in your budget next year. I know I am. :)

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

- Pricing: I wish there were a more affordable option. There's nothing like this on the market today. We need more SEOs using this tool.
- Tool access: I used Lumar when they first launched so I had access to the tool without needing to pay for the services. I wish that functionality was still available. While I see tremendous value in the services, there are many companies that just can't afford it but could benefit from using the tool.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Page speed: Lumar's team is actively helping us improve our page speed by identifying third party script issues, ways to improve our navigation, ensuring internal links are optimized and so much more.
- Agile sprint planning with dev: Lumar's team is helping me take the beautiful audit they provided and flipping it into a Jira ticket that can align with our dev teams sprint planning queue. This is a new process for our dev team and Lumar is helping guide that relationship.

 ### 27. Focusing on usable, actionable intelligence over raw data, Lumar is amazing.

**Reviewed by:** JP S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It's blazing fast, the reports are intutive to understand but easy to drill down into the details. From that high level "hmmm, that's weird" to the simplicity of building facets and filters to recognizing "ahhh now i understand why this is happening, let me create a Jira" is a smooth experience.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I have yet to discover a feature or product or service that I dislike

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is solving:
- technical platform issues
- identifying critical problems
- problems in our large scale content efforts
- technical issues in our localization
- UI/Ux accessibility issues
Lumar excells at telling me what is wrong and why it's important - their automatic priortitization allows me to focus on the aspectst that will deliver better results.

 ### 28. Lumar's Site Health Tool, Coupled with their Professional Services Hands Down Wins for Me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Like their simplicity to their site health score that can be run for the whole site, segments/markets of the site, and your competitors so you can quickly see where you line up, and what needs your focus. Love their feedback loop in product development and integration of that feedback loop. Access to their API enables for an easy plug and play of implementation into other systems, which enables you to build custom dashboards for the items that matter for your stakeholders. Their customer service is hands down on par with responsive, adaptive, and action oriented. My team and I are diving into the tool on a daily basis, frequently used by our data analytics and our tech seo practioners.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Waiting on baiting edge to get access to their custom site health tool. I think once they release this feature, they'll take their tool to the next level, and enable technical practioners to help the business focus on what matters the most to their business.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar helps us identify our site health issues and then helps us work through the solutions to prioritize and identify level of effort so we can go to our business owners and fix issues that hinder us from providing search engines and visitors with the best experience.

 ### 29. Highly Recommend Lumar for SEO Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I really like how simple the UI is to navigate. I find the top changes and top errors report very helpful, and scan them each week to identify any new issues. It helps us be more proactive in fixing things before they become larger problems. Our CSM Lilla is also super responsive and helpful whenever we have questions.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The only part of Lumar that could be improved is access to advanced settings and not having to click through multiple settings pages. But it's a small inconvenience compared the the value.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical SEO issues and technical SEO education

 ### 30. DeepCrawl - World Class SEO Crawler

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan I. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The best part of our relationship with DeepCrawl is the managed services team that regularly brings insights to our biweekly calls. Their team/platform help keep a watchful eye on any changes made on our site, allowing us to ensure that SEO best practices are maintained from week to week.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The only potential downside is losing focus through the sheer amount of data and discoveries made by the crawler. You always need to keep prioritization front of mind when deciding on which items to fix. Good problem to have!

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DeepCrawl is very helpful for managing technical eCommerce SEO. It has been beneficial in creating sitemaps, auditing title tags/descriptions, monitoring hreflang tags etc.

The ability for us to quckly identify technical SEO opportunties and allows us to reverse engineer issues to pinpoint the exact day (and often time) that defects are released into production if we don't spot them in our test environments. It also allows us to keep track of the impact that the various web perf enhancements have for customers.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

We need to do better at configuring the Protect product.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I'd like to see a bit more flexibility in terms of the set-up of reports so they can be more handy while presenting to non-technical stakeholders.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since Lumar allows for automatic crawl set up and keeps the data from old crawl I can easily look back at previous data, compare the change and use this in reporting on my objectives.

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The best thing in Lumar for me is filters. You can reach in very specific info without the use of an external excel sheet.

We have a huge amount of URLs so Lumar's dashboards help us separate them according to the issue that are affected from. So it is easier for us to deal with all the technical issues we face.

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

> Hey Lambrini, thanks for the review and great to hear how Lumar is helping you manage all your different domains. ### 48. Smart and always evolving tools to monitor SEO performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xavier Y. | SEO Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Lumar allows us to provide relevant feedback to customers regarding their site's overall SEO technical quality. Based on hundreds of SEO KPIs, we're able to determine which actions would have the most impact. By combining Analyze crawl data with Monitor reporting capabilities, we can focus on what will make a big difference and, step by step, improve the global SEO performance of the customer's site. Lumar's ability to handle different crawls for thousands of URLs is also crucial in the industrial aspect of our configuration, with dozens of sites to monitor within a short period.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Some indicators require running a new crawl as soon as the change is made when we need to process the results (like adding URL segments, while I think we could prevent a new crawl easily). I would also love the possibility to run crawls at different times, not the precise hour, due to the customer's server infrastructure.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar is helping me monitor many projects simultaneously, with simple-to-read dashboards for all types of users, being technical or marketing directors. It makes the analysis faster and smoother, with relevant data to use in custom dashboards.

The crawler is powerful, reliable and extremely flexible too, allowing you to plug in several data points, meaning you can crawl as far and as wide as your site requires.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It lacks insight into commercial KPIs and which optimisations can lead to additional conversations/revenue for businesses. The connection between their different products is also difficult to grasp; it's tricky to understand immediately what they do, how they differ and which products are included in your package and which are not.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Technical SEO analysis for all calibre of websites, from small to large-scale, enterprise sites
- JavaScript crawling
- Using Google Data Studio to feed DeepCrawl data into performance data
