**What do you like best about Components Engine?**

Components Engine has saved us a lot of hassle when it comes to managing spare parts. The integration with 3D CAD is lightning-fast: you just import the model and you’re ready to go, with everything you need to create interactive exploded views without wasting time on odd conversions. It also works very well with our PDM; files stay synchronised, and you don’t have to chase down manual updates. On top of that, the data automation with our management system via REST API works like a charm: codes, prices, stock—everything is updated automatically, with no more double entry or errors caused by distraction. Overall, it’s a real time-saver both for the technical office and for the people who manage orders.

**What do you dislike about Components Engine?**

None—there’s really nothing to complain about. In fact, the setup was surprisingly quick: we were up and running within a few weeks. Technical support is also top-notch; they respond fast, understand the issue right away, and fix it without beating around the bush.

**What do you like best about Components Engine?**

After nearly a year of using Components Engine every day in our company, I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made for after-sales service.

The 3D catalog management is genuinely excellent. We import models directly from our PLM (we use Windchill), and within just a few hours the catalog is online, complete with exploded views, bills of materials, and technical metadata. We no longer have to redo drawings by hand: the software pulls the data from the PLM and automatically generates the 3D viewer.

The viewer is what impressed me the most. It’s incredibly fast, even with complex machinery—agricultural and industrial equipment with hundreds of parts. It loads in seconds, rotates smoothly, lets you explode views, hide components, and locate spare parts by searching by part number or name. It works flawlessly both on a desktop and on a tablet out in the field. Our technicians and end customers love it because they can finally see exactly which part they need and how it fits together, which has significantly reduced incorrect orders.

Integration with our PLM was also easier than I expected. Once the workflow was configured, each revision update in the PLM is reflected in the catalog almost automatically. That has saved us a lot of time and helped eliminate version-related errors.

**What do you dislike about Components Engine?**

Honestly, I don’t have any major weaknesses to point out. At first I was concerned the 3D viewer might feel heavy or run slowly on less-than-ideal connections, but that hasn’t been the case. Even with large files, it still performs well.

Technical support has been genuinely responsive and knowledgeable. Whenever we’ve had a question or needed some customization, they’ve replied quickly—often within the same day—and addressed the issue accurately. It’s clear they understand both the software and what people working with CAD and PLM actually need.

**What do you like best about Components Engine?**

Components Engine has proven to be a valuable ally for spare parts management in our company. Integration with Zendesk is lightning fast: support tickets link directly to interactive catalogues, so when a customer opens a ticket, the operator immediately sees the 3D exploded view and the exact part without having to dig through a thousand files. The same fluidity applies to 3D CAD – import the model and in a few minutes you have everything ready, navigable and clickable.
Then there is the automation of spare parts data with the management system via REST API: stock and pricing are synchronised automatically, no more manual updates that end up creating messes. It's a simple thing, but it saves a lot of time and eliminates silly mistakes in orders.

**What do you like best about Components Engine?**

I started using Components Engine about eight months ago to manage our spare parts catalogues, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best choices we’ve made in recent years for our after-sales service.

The integration between the 3D model, bill of materials, and exploded view is genuinely smart and well executed. Once the files are imported (even from SolidWorks or other CAD programmes), the software links almost everything automatically, which greatly reduces manual work and, above all, the risk of errors.

The editor is intuitive and fast, and it lets you work with real precision on exploded views without going crazy.

Online publishing works very well, and the online catalogue is highly appreciated by both customers and technicians in the field. They can order parts in just a few clicks, zoom in, rotate the 3D model, and immediately check availability and prices.

As a result, we’ve drastically reduced calls and emails asking for clarification about spare parts, and incorrect requests have dropped significantly.

Support is responsive (we almost always get a reply within five hours), and updates are released regularly, adding genuinely useful features, such as integrated claims management, which we’re now starting to use.

Overall, it’s clear that the developers really understand the needs of anyone dealing with after-sales spare parts.

One of the most obvious strengths of Components Engine is its ability to retrieve and enhance historical PDF catalogs, even rasterized ones, transforming them into truly usable digital tools. 
The software allows you to quickly index even very old documentation, maintaining high loading and navigation performance.
A particularly valuable feature is the ability to apply different configurations based on the structure of each individual PDF. 
Catalogue with different layouts, not uniform explosion logic, or heterogeneous graphic styles can be managed without any constraints. 
This approach allows you to preserve your existing information assets, avoiding costly and time-consuming content re-engineering activities.

The initial phase of defining recognition and navigation rules requires a minimum of preliminary analysis of the available PDFs. 
However, this step translates into a medium-term advantage, as it guarantees a stable, reusable, and highly efficient configuration.

I have been using Components Engine for some time now, and one of the aspects that has impressed me most is the fluidity of the 3D "model". 
Navigation between models is extremely natural: I can rotate, zoom, and explode even complex assemblies without any slowdowns, which makes work much faster and more enjoyable.

The graphic interface is modern and well designed and very intuitive. There's no need to waste time searching for functions: everything is clear, which is also very helpful for those without a strong technical background.

At first, it may take a little time to become familiar with all the available features: there are many functions, and it is not always possible to make full use of them from the very first time you use the software.

I participated as a consultant in an integration between the company management software, the PLM, and Components Engine. The integration was successful without any issues: the PLM directed the design bill of materials to Components Engine along with the CAD models, while the management software provided pricing and availability rules within the web portal intended for customers. The technical support from Components Engine proved to be highly competent and efficient.

Nothing to complain about. The implementation times were quick, the roadmap was followed, and, as already mentioned, the technical support was excellent.

The introduction of Components Engine has represented a step change in the management of our parts catalogues, mainly due to the seamless integration of 3D models with BOM data. In just a few clicks, codes, descriptions and quantities are automatically and accurately associated, ensuring consistency of information and drastically reducing the need for manual checks. The exploded 3D representation is not only aesthetically effective, but strictly follows the design structure. This allows for simple and immediate navigation, even for users not familiar with CAD environments, significantly improving the understanding of assemblies and the identification of individual parts. A tangible advantage that optimises collaboration between the technical department, service and customers, simplifying the entire component search process.

So far, the user experience has been decidedly straightforward. The tools offered have fully met expectations, without creating any particular difficulties. Of course, each system can be improved over time, but we have not encountered any technical obstacles or significant criticalities worth mentioning.

We have been using it for almost a year for spare parts catalogs and we wouldn't go back. Before, it was chaos between PDFs and Excel; now, however, we manage to create interactive exploded views (even in 3D) in no time. Customers click on the part, immediately see the code, and order without making mistakes, with much faster assistance.

The editor is intuitive, online publishing is really convenient, and the Italian support responds quickly. For those who produce machines or equipment with many spare parts, I sincerely recommend it: it simplifies life a lot.
