# Is Components Engine actually worth it for industrial manufacturers based on user reviews?

Hey G2 users, I've been trying to work out whether Components Engine is actually worth it for industrial manufacturers based on user reviews in the 3D parts catalog category, since it has both the largest review base and some of the most detailed reviewer accounts in this space.

PLM and CAD integration depth: Reviewers describe importing models directly from systems like Windchill and SolidWorks, with revision updates reflected in the catalog automatically rather than requiring manual rework each time. Does that integration hold up as smoothly with less common PLM systems, or is the automatic sync strongest specifically with the major platforms?

Performance with complex machinery: Multiple reviewers specifically describe agricultural and industrial equipment models with hundreds of parts loading in seconds and performing well even on tablets in the field.

Reduction in incorrect orders: Customers and technicians being able to see exactly which part they need and how it fits together is repeatedly credited with reducing incorrect orders significantly compared to static PDF catalogs.

For industrial manufacturers who have used Components Engine specifically: did the investment pay for itself primarily through reduced support tickets, fewer incorrect orders, or somewhere else you didn't initially expect?

The strongest ROI case seems to be where catalog accuracy directly reduces downstream work, not just where 3D visualization looks better. I’d track incorrect-order rates, support volume, and time spent updating revisions to see which benefit actually offsets the implementation cost.
