# Which enterprise content delivery network (eCDN) tools are proven to achieve ultra-low latency globally for real-time streaming?

The dislikes I saw were more about feature complexity than raw speed.</li>

<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/varnish-software/reviews"><strong>Varnish Software</strong></a> (4.6★, 100 reviews): this one has a data point I found genuinely striking, one reviewer reported improving video buffering speed by 60-90% after implementation, and another said it kept video "smooth even for large audiences." The tradeoff I'd weigh is upfront effort; more than one reviewer described setup and tuning as demanding real technical involvement to get that performance.</li>

Slight myth-buster: peer-to-peer and caching eCDN approaches usually add a little buffer latency, they trade a few seconds of delay for not crushing your bandwidth. So &quot;ultra-low latency&quot; and &quot;eCDN&quot; are a bit in tension by design. If you truly need real-time in the sub-second sense (think interactive or trading-floor use), that&#39;s a specialized low-latency protocol conversation, not a classic eCDN one. How low is low for you, a couple seconds behind live is fine, or do you literally need real-time interaction? Because those need different architectures.
