Then I get frustrated and close the case and create a new different one, and the automatted feedback message gives a link to give 5 stars on everything and submits it with no input. The absolute worst and then they pad the numbers with the false 5 star reviews. Its dashboard is straightforward to navigate, and the compatibility between Commvault and AWS and Azure was done me most smoothly and efficiently, I also loved it. My main activity in it was to create the backup jobs that were set to be executed automatically for the virtual machines and the databases, which in turn freed us up for some other activities. The restore process was speedy and reliable, which I found really comforting when we had to do disaster recovery scenarios. Commvault served as a bridge that interconnected the on-prem and cloud environments, and thus it could be sure that backups are consistent without changing the manual part of the process a lot. At the same time, it made our team feel more confident about data safety. Additionally, the deduplication feature helped us save a good amount of storage space. **What do you dislike about Commvault Cloud?** The initial setup might be a little too much for new users to handle. A few high-level settings were not very clear, and one had to look into the documentation to get the information, which could have been more nicely arranged. Our ticket is as below: As of Dec 2022, we upgraded the NetApp OnTap from 9.7P6 to the current version OnTap 9.10.1P8 According to NetApp SnapDiff v1 and v2 are deprecated and will not function in ONTAP 9.10.1 and later. Only SnapDiff v3 is supported in ONTAP 9.10.1 and later. It is great at just doing the simple things like File server or VM backups but allows you to also solve complex backup issues with workflows. **What do you dislike about Commvault Cloud?** It is fairly complex, so it is a steep learning curve if you want to use the more advanced features that it offers. The new HTML console helps to reduce the complexity but it would be great if there were even more wizards to help with the process. **What problems is Commvault Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are backing up M365 cloud workloads such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Exchange Online and looking at Azure workloads at present. We moved from using on-premises backups to Commvault Cloud and the biggest benefit has been the consistency of speed compared to the throttling that MS was applying to our on-premises backups. The aging of backups, if you misconfigure or walk into a pre-set CV can be extremely difficult to recover space or get rid of backups that are not needed. It manages all of our Prod, QA, Dev, Test and SBX environment backups. The scalability is top notch as mentioned previously it is managing a huge landscape of 500+ systems with around 3000+ servers. It is easy to use and the UI is friendly. It also provides insights on the backups for different servers. The best part is PIT(Point in time recovery for HANA systems where it restores the target system with combination of Full& Incremental backups to the same time as Prod Environments). I love this feature in commvault. It has some best features in the industry like: 1. Multi Cloud support if we want to use any other cloud to upload the data. 2. Scalability for huge landscapes. 3. Data Deduplication for saving the space hence reducing the cost. 4. Provides the encryption and limited access for security. 5. Last but not the least, the Automation of the backups which reduces a lot of manual work. **What do you dislike about Commvault Cloud?** Nothing to dislike they provide best services in the industry compared to the competition. Except for the maintenance, it takes some effort to do it but any service will need it so I ignored it. The majority of support analysts are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful so most tickets are resolved quickly. **What do you dislike about Commvault Cloud?** CommVault is an incredibly complicated system and the company has a bad habit of deprecating features with little notice so that long time clients end up with an installation that no longer matches the "standard" configuration of a new client. The support team is responsive and friendly but you'll need them a lot. In the past year I've opened 57 support tickets - more than one every week - and there are still features that don't work properly. CommVault is not a system you will implement on your own.
