It's helpful at it allows project management to program efficiently. Communication with customers without being on-site, selections is product, choices in paint color, when a sub contractor is going to be on site. So fine without needing to be physically with the customer. **What do you dislike about CoConstruct?** There a bit of a learning curve to it. There is training which is seeding. But there is multiple ways to do the same things, not not always shown in a report if not done the particular way it needed. **What problems is CoConstruct solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's solving particularly the need to be on site with a customer to deal with any issues that might arise any questions that might arise. Or anything else that might come along. Save the person from having to go to a physical job site which is efficient when you need to deal with five or six at a time. ### 2. The software is very thoughtfully designed. The Budgets, Purchase Orders and Change Orders are all relatively smooth and easy to use. **What do you dislike about CoConstruct?** Unfortunately, once you start using CoConstruct, you are essentially locked in, as it is hard to export data. Our small business used CoConstruct with no complaints until last year, when they jacked up our rates exponentially (by about $5,000). We were blindsided by the outrageous increase in price. Because of how software-centric CoConstruct is, it is not easy to take your data and go to another company. You are pretty much stuck with them if you aren't willing to walk away from your project data. I would avoid CoConstruct entirely unless you are in a position to walk away from your project data. Our company cannot, so we are stuck paying outrageous prices to continue using this software. **What problems is CoConstruct solving and how is that benefiting you?** CoConstruct is good at connecting all aspects of construction (budgets, purchase orders, change orders). ### 3. I now track all jobs and do billing based on hours entered in the timesheet function. I used to enter this information into Quickbooks manually but now I simply review and edit time entries and push them to Quickbooks and it's available for client billing and payroll. ### 7. Mobile app is very helpful in making sure everything is fed back into the system while on site. **What do you dislike about CoConstruct?** The estimating tool is very clunky. It doesn't allow you to load all the various estimates received from subs into the system and choose which options to select and automatically update the budget. That is challenging when considering different approaches to roofing, siding, kitchens etc. Estimating is positioned as one of its primary differentiators and it wasn't very flexible in aligning of how you might cost out a project. **Recommendations to others considering CoConstruct:** CoConstruct is a great initial tool particularly for smaller shops like ours. The ease of use on the estimating could be improved and so larger organizations may want to consider other higher cost options that allows for more flexibility. Good at the price point but definitely has some limitations. **What problems is CoConstruct solving and how is that benefiting you?** The primary issue we were trying to solve is keeping consistent communication and planning across the project lifecycle. A web based tool is ideal in that way particularly since some of our team are in different locations. Having a single platform means we can easily access all the documentation we need for managing the project. ### 9. It is a bit expensive than its competition softwares, but it comes with project/task management, sales, accounting, collaboration, and CRM features in the very same package, therefore making it worth the money **Recommendations to others considering CoConstruct:** Careful planning on building selection templates is a must. You cannot spend too much time with this. It is also really important, if you want selections to be the best time-saving tool in the program, that you update your selection templates as you make modifications in specific items in projects. Also, a good plan for numbering selection items is necessary for keep items in a logical sequence and grouping in categories that make sense **What problems is CoConstruct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Earlier, we were running around like crazy looking at printouts of Microsoft project and having to update the schedules at night. It was very time-consuming. The scheduling is hands down the best feature of this service. It allows us to schedule our subs without spending as much time on the phone, calling everyone to inform them of what we need to be done. It also eliminates the need for me to adjust the schedule manually at night and having to call everyone in the morning while driving to work every day. Another great feature is the selections page!! No more tedious questions on paint, tile siding, doors, hardware, etc. ### 17. Always great to discuss security of information and information storage prior to signing up in order to further feel at ease in what program you're stepping into.
