Websites hosted on Closte load quickly, providing a better user experience. In addition, our sites perform better on Google Core Web Vitals metrics when hosted on Closte than several other web hosts, such as Cloudways, KnownHost, and Nexcess. By improving page speed and user experience measurements, Closte has helped our sites rank higher on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), attracting more significant traffic.
One feature unique to Closte is its pay-as-you-go pricing model. Paying only for the resources we use instead of a monthly fee allows a lot of flexibility and saves money. For example, we used Closte to host two membership sites, the content of which was accessible to staff of our client organizations for only a limited time while we conducted online training. Closte’s pricing meant that we paid less for web hosting compared to a situation in which we purchased a monthly or fixed-term plan from another web host.
We also appreciate the simple yet effective user interface of the Closte platform. Everything works without fuss, including WordPress site deployment, automatic backups and restoring a site from backup, SSL certificate installation, and the Google Cloud Content Delivery Network (CDN) integration. I refer to the support docs sometimes, e.g., for guidance on using the Google Cloud CDN. Still, I have not needed to contact technical support for help since signing up 18 months ago and deploying over 20 websites on the Closte platform.
Because Closte uses the LiteSpeed web server, we can use the LiteSpeed Cache for WordPress (LSCWP) plugin, one of the best cache plugins available. There is no monetary cost to using the LSCWP plugin, saving money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest gripe with Closte is that it works with only one Content Delivery Network (CDN), i.e., the built-in Google Cloud CDN. The Closte platform is not compatible with any other CDN provider, e.g., Cloudflare, Bunny CDN, or QUIC.cloud CDN. As a result, we cannot use Cloudflare’s Automatic Platform Optimization (APO) or Argo services for our sites hosted on Closte.
Although Closte accepts all major credit cards for payment, it does not accept PayPal payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
