"All-in-One Security Dashboard, but Cisco Hardware Costs Add Up"

3/5

What do you like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

Single platform: Combines video surveillance, access control, and emergency communications into one dashboard.IP synergy: Utilizes your existing corporate IP network, eliminating the need for separate, costly cabling. The Cisco Physical Security Solution works exceptionally well with other enterprise tools, largely because Cisco built it around a REST API-first architecture and webhooks. Instead of acting as an isolated security system, it treats physical security telemetry (video, motion, door access, and sensor data) as standard IT network dat Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

Premium pricing: The upfront cost for Cisco hardware is significantly higher than that of traditional CCTV or competitors like Ubiquiti.

Mandatory licensing: Systems rely on ongoing cloud subscription licenses. If a license expires, the hardware effectively stops functioning or cloud management is lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

Traditional security relies on separate, disconnected systems for video recording (DVRs), access control, and IT networks, leading to slow incident response times.

Cisco's Solution: Consolidates video surveillance, physical access control, environmental sensors, and network management into a single cloud dashboard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enterprise-Grade Surveillance Made Simple with Cloud Management and AI Analytics"

5/5

What do you like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

The Cisco Physical Security Solution stands out because it blends robust enterprise surveillance with the simplicity of cloud management. By integrating smart cameras directly into the existing Cisco or Meraki network infrastructure, it eliminates the need for complex on-site servers and dedicated video recorders. Security teams benefit from a single, centralized dashboard that offers real-time visibility, fast video search capabilities, and built-in AI analytics like object detection. Ultimately, it transforms physical security from a siloed, high-maintenance system into an intelligent, easily scalable extension of your standard IT network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

The primary drawbacks of the Cisco Physical Security Solution center around its high total cost of ownership and rigid ecosystem lock-in. Because platforms like Cisco Meraki rely entirely on a cloud-managed architecture, users face expensive upfront hardware costs coupled with mandatory recurring subscription licenses. If these licenses expire, the cameras stop functioning entirely, creating a long-term financial commitment that some organizations find prohibitive. Additionally, the proprietary nature of the system means it lacks flexibility, making it highly difficult to integrate existing third-party cameras or reuse old infrastructure. Finally, because it is cloud-centric, the system demands significant outbound internet bandwidth, which can strain networks or fail during local connectivity outages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Cisco Physical Security Solution solves the problem of siloed, high-maintenance security infrastructure by centralizing operations into a single, cloud-managed network dashboard. By eliminating traditional, failure-prone on-site storage servers and complex wiring setups, it reduces physical footprints and minimizes IT troubleshooting hours. Organizations benefit from automated AI analytics—such as instant motion alerts, object detection, and rapid video search—which replace hours of manual footage review with immediate, actionable insights during incidents. "Centralized Physical Security with Faster Incident Response"

5/5

What do you like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

What I like most about Cisco Physical Security Solution is its centralized management platform, which allows us to monitor and manage multiple sites from a single dashboard. This has significantly reduced the time required to oversee our surveillance and access control systems across different locations. The platform is highly scalable, making it easy to add new cameras, devices, and sites as our organization grows without major infrastructure changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

The main drawbacks are the relatively high cost, the complexity of the initial deployment, and the learning curve required to fully utilize advanced features. Integration with some third-party applications and legacy systems can also require additional customization and time, which may delay implementation and increase project costs. These challenges can slow user adoption, extend deployment timelines, and require more training and technical support. Improving the onboarding process, simplifying configuration, providing more intuitive documentation and training resources, and expanding compatibility with third-party and legacy systems would help organizations deploy the solution more efficiently and maximize its value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before implementing Cisco Physical Security Solution, we relied on multiple standalone security systems with limited centralized visibility. Monitoring and managing access control, surveillance, and security events required significant manual effort, making it difficult to respond quickly to incidents and maintain consistent security across locations.

We struggled with managing physical security through separate systems, but now we can centrally monitor cameras, control access, and respond to security incidents from a single platform. This has significantly improved visibility into security events, streamlined daily operations, and enabled faster decision-making during critical situations.

As a result, we have reduced manual monitoring effort, improved incident response times, strengthened overall security, and increased operational efficiency. The centralized management approach has also simplified administration, reduced the risk of human error, and provided better control over physical security across the organization. "Cisco Physical Security: Unified Cloud Dashboard with Smart Cameras and Built-In AI Insights"

5/5

What do you like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

What makes Cisco’s physical security solution stand out most is how it brings everything under one roof.

Instead of managing separate servers and video recorders, you get smart cameras and sensors managed through a single cloud dashboard. The onboard camera storage saves network bandwidth, and the built-in AI analytics give you instant insights—like foot traffic heatmaps and motion alerts—without making setup or maintenance a headache.

Essentially, it turns physical security into an easy-to-manage extension of your existing IT network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

Pricey Subscriptions: Hardware is expensive upfront, and you’re forced to pay ongoing licensing fees per device. If the subscription lapses, your cameras literally stop working.

• Vendor Lock-In: It doesn't play well with third-party hardware. You can't easily hook up cheaper non-Cisco cameras or switch to a different video system.

• Cloud Dependence: Management relies on an internet connection, so if your connection is spotty or down, accessing live feeds and settings remotely becomes a headache. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cisco’s physical security solution solves the headache of managing disconnected, legacy hardware. It fixes three big problems:

• Eliminates Clunky On-Site Hardware: By replacing bulky local video recorders (NVRs) with cloud-managed, edge-storage cameras, it saves you server room space, maintenance time, and bandwidth.

• Breaks Down System Silos: Instead of using separate software for cameras, door access, and environmental sensors, everything runs through one single dashboard.

• Cuts Through Endless Footage: Built-in AI analytics automatically track motion, count people, and generate heatmaps, so you don't have to manually scrub through hours of video during an incident. It benefits me by saving time and facilitating everything Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Multi Site Security Management in One Platform"

4/5

What do you like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

What I like best about Cisco Physical Security Solution is how much easier it makes managing security across multiple sites. Having everything in one place means I can quickly review footage, investigate incidents, and monitor cameras without jumping between different systems.

The video search and analytics features are a big help as they make it much quicker to find specific events instead of spending time manually reviewing recordings. We have also found the intelligent alerts useful for highlighting activity that actually needs attention rather than generating constant noise.

From a support standpoint, the documentation and support from Cisco has been very good. Its one of the reasons we went for the product in my last company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Physical Security Solution?

If I could improve one thing, it would be the AI alerting. The functionality is there, but I'd like to see more flexibility in creating customised alert rules for different security scenarios without needing extra configuration. That would make it easier to tailor the solution to specific operational needs and get value from the analytics straight away. Cost is also a factor that i wish was improved to be more inline with the competition. I can see smaller companies being put off with this aspect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

In my previous role at my last company it helped address unauthorised access and improve overall physical security by bringing video surveillance and access control into a single platform. Having everything centrally managed gives us better visibility across sites and makes it much quicker to investigate incidents. As our environment has grown, the solution has scaled with us without adding significant administrative overhead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Integrating cameras, access-control components, network policies, and existing third-party systems may require considerable planning and technical expertise.

The interface can also feel less intuitive in some advanced administrative areas, so new users may need additional training before they can manage the system confidently. Licensing and deployment costs may be another concern for smaller organizations, particularly when specialized hardware, support, or professional services are required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cisco Physical Security Solution solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cisco Physical Security Solution helps address the challenge of managing physical-security systems across multiple devices and locations. Instead of monitoring cameras, access events, alarms, and network infrastructure through separate tools, it provides a more centralized way to manage security operations and investigate incidents.

This benefits us by improving visibility and reducing the time required to identify and respond to potential security issues. Security events can be reviewed more efficiently, and administrators have better control over connected devices and access policies. The integration with the Cisco network environment also helps improve system reliability and simplifies coordination between the physical-security and IT teams.
