## Checkly Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI

Is Checkly free, or does it offer a free trial?

Yes. According to G2 data, Checkly offers a free plan with limited features. Users can upgrade to paid plans for additional capabilities. Visit the seller's official pricing page to compare plan options and features.

How much does Checkly cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, Checkly pricing in 2026 starts at $80.00. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the Checkly's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is Checkly pricing best suited for?

Checkly's pricing is best suited for developer-focused small and mid-market teams running CI/CD pipelines with Playwright-based synthetic monitoring. G2 reviewers from IT services, computer software, and marketing industries dominate the review base and consistently extract strong value from Checkly's Team plan. The Hobby tier suits solo developers and hobby projects, as confirmed by G2 reviewers who appreciate the free entry point. The Team plan fits agile dev teams needing multi-user access, private locations, and alerting integrations. G2 reviewers from enterprise segments in broadcast media, real estate, and HR highlight the Custom tier's monitoring-as-code capabilities and SLA guarantees as the primary draw at that scale.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Checkly?

Checkly's Hobby tier is free and supports a single user with 10k API and 1.5k browser check runs, email, Slack, and webhook alerts, and 30 days of aggregated data retention. Checkly's paid Team plan starts at $80.00/month and expands to 20 users, 50k API and 6k browser check runs, all alerting channels, 12 months of data retention, private locations, Prometheus endpoint, visual regression testing, and pro support. G2 reviewers specifically call out private locations and extended data retention as meaningful upgrades. The Custom enterprise tier adds SSO/SAML, client certificates, a 99.9% SLA, 25 months of retention, and fully custom check run volumes.

Is Checkly considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers give Checkly a strong overall rating, with most reviewers praising its reliability, Playwright integration, monitoring-as-code workflow, and ease of setup. The recurring pricing concern across G2 reviews is rigid tier limits rather than outright poor value — multiple reviewers note that usage quotas are hit quickly and that gaps between tiers force teams to overpay or under-provision. G2 reviewers from small businesses and startups flag Checkly's pricing as high relative to their scale, while mid-market and enterprise reviewers consistently rate it as worth the cost. The consensus across G2 reviews of Checkly is that it delivers premium value for developer-centric teams but can feel expensive for early-stage or solo users.

""Checkly: Test Smarter, Monitor Better""

What do you like best about Checkly?

What I like best about Checkly is its "monitoring-as-code" approach, which fits perfectly into modern CI/CD workflows. The ability to write API and browser checks in JavaScript/TypeScript using Playwright, commit them to Git, and run them globally is a game-changer. It feels like an extension of your development process—not a separate tool you have to babysit.

The integration with Playwright is especially powerful—it allows for deep browser-based testing with rich artifacts like screenshots, traces, and console logs. Checkly also makes alerting simple and flexible with Slack, email, and webhook support, so you always know when something breaks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkly?

While Checkly is powerful, there are a few areas where it could improve. The pricing tiers can feel a bit rigid—especially for growing teams that fall between the limits of Starter and Team plans. More flexible or usage-based billing would be helpful.

Also, while the Playwright integration is great, the learning curve can be steep for teams new to writing tests in code. Some advanced features could use more in-depth documentation or examples.

Lastly, data residency options are limited. For teams with strict compliance needs (especially in the EU), having more control over where monitoring data is stored would be a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Checkly solving and how is that benefiting you?

The result is faster issue detection, better visibility into production performance, and higher confidence in deploymentsall with less manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
