Very easy to use, all my individual data is there and I know exactly how to work my away around the org

Very easy to get time off, and understand how many days are left. 

We also have full visibility into benefits and how teams are structured across the org.

The best thing about charlie HR is that you get to visualize the info about colleagues that will whom is working today and whom is not

As far as the application is concerned it is very much helpful one thing i would like to add up that the discounts that charlie hr provide should be worldwide nof region specific

The thing you have to do manually you can do that just by sitting on your machine like if you want to book time off or compassionate leave or anything like that its just few click away

What i love about CHR is how easy it is to set up and operate. Its the second time, Ive had CHR installed at a company Ive worked at, and cant reccomend it highly enough. The support team are always on hand and keen to solve any issues.

Really tough question! Nothing significant stands out.

managing a remote team specifically onboarding, and holiday and sick leave.

Really easy to track holidays and incentives that we have as a company. Clear and accessible user interface.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

Somewhat unstable, it crashed a few times and was out of service for a few days, however aside from that it was very reliable and easily implemented.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CharlieHR was a great way of managing company information, having it all in one place. It was very usable for every member of the team to be able to book time off, see their accumulated hours and view the benefits that they had available to them.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

In a previous job, I struggled with all the details of HR management for 5 years before I discovered CharlieHR. I calculated that it saved my 214 hours per year in admin time. 

When I joined my new company recently, it was the first platform that I implemented. I can't recommend Charlie enough to any new businesses/startups reading this review: it is the one thing I so wish I'd done before. 

There are just too many things you have to remember to do to be legally compliant with HR, contracts, policies etc, letalone trying to be a morally decent and supportive company. 

I've attended their free webinars on culture, people and policies and found them so helpful and insightful. The chat on the site has a speedy response and even when I've asked a dozen questions in one day (yes, I really have), I've got a lovely detailed response each time.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

The only thing I could possibly dislike about CharlieHR is that I didn't use it sooner. The development team really take on feedback and keep us up-to-date with new features, for example, recently they brought in an hourly tracker for staff that don't work full time which is really useful.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small business startup, you don't have the time or training to often stay compliant and up-to-date with all the new laws. CharlieHR has everything in one place and a responsive team who give personalised advice if you need it. It's also so much cheaper than having to go to a lawyer each time to review contracts and policies.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

Whenever we have had an HR problem to solve Charlie have been ultra efficient in helping us deal with it. They are very fast to come back to us and their advice has been invaluable.
It is a very easy system to use and implement.
We use it daily to update information on our employees and the many additional features make it very easy to integrate with our accounting system.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

It is very difficult to find one thing to dislike about Charlie HR. We started using it in january 2019 and have not looked back since.

CharlieHR, as an online portal, is useful for TickX but what we have found most helpful is the advice service. We used this recently and were able to get specific advice within a rapid turnaround. Alisa was exceptional in not only her quality of response but also her timely manner. The speed meant that there was no disruption to the business.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

Having used CharlieHR for the last year, I have not found anything I disliked. I would highly recommend the service to those without dedicated HR functions within their business. Thanks.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TickX is within a growth stage at the moment and is rapidly hiring. We sometimes require additional support, but this isn't frequent enough to warrant a dedicated HR professional within the business. By using the advice line, we still get the support benefits but at a cost that suits the business.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

The whole system looks really good and is generally easy to navigate. I found it pretty simple to get everybody set up initially. There are some super helpful tools to use, especially checklists. The fact that Perks at Work are included in the price is excellent value for money.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

I would like access to the diversity tools, but we don't want or need to pay for the HR Advice. It would be great if it were available as an add-on.

CharlieHR has helped us get our onboarding process in one place with the checklists, enabling all parties to ensure that their part in the process has been completed.

The Charlie team are always really quick to respond to emails and very flexible with call requests. When someone isn't in or on holiday, another team member always replies on their behalf - i really appreciate this fantastic level of service. All the team members are also very friendly and professional.

There have been no issues so far, i'm very happy with the service.

As a small business with no HR professional internally it's so helpful to have a professional HR person to ask for guidance so we know we're doing everything correctly.
It's been brilliant to get new staff contracts created and know they are correct and compliant.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

The central system for holiday booking, reviews and managing team is really helpful for our business. We just went through our first formal review process with the team and the in-built tools were super helpful for ensuring everyone went through the same process and most importantly that we completed it in a set amount of time.   The calender is also excellent for keeping track of holidays and WFH. 

The ability to speak to an HR specialist within hours when dealing with challenging issues has been a tremendous support and has more than paid for itself.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

Some elements on the platform can be a bit clunky, the ability to download things as CSV or for the Charlie to create an Org chart would be really helpful.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Challenging team issues and things that only HR trained professionals have expert knowledge about - maternity policies, mental health and redundancies to name a few.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

The CharlieHR advisory service - my Advisor, Alisa, is always extremely quick to respond to queries and always provides thoughtful and strategic advice. I also find the webinars they organise really informative and helpful in providing current market changes and case studies - it's also a great learning opportunity for the junior HR members in our team.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

There are still a few minor tweaks that could be made to the HRIS to improve effectiveness, such as alerts when someone has used up their sick day allowance etc. but besides small items like that, there are very few down sides :)

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a really easy way to onboard people effectively, and creates all company information we could ever need such as org charts, the company handbook, performance reviews etc.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

Charlie HR Advice service: This has been extremely helpful. They're friendly, super knowledgable and quick to jump on a call should you need it. Would for sure recommend to others.

Charlie HR software platform: For straightforward use cases (full-time workers etc) it's fairly solid. The workflow of booking holidays etc is simple and the team don't have many issues using it.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

Charlie HR Advice service: Not sure there's anything to dislike here. If you need advice on HR issues, this is your service.

Charlie HR software platform: 

- The design / UX / UI could do with some love. Things are a little clunky / hard to navigate around and I'm forever confused as to where to look for things.

- There are a few workflows that the product doesn't support (EG: calculating holidays for team members with variable working hours or recording time where team members are working abroad) and so you're forced to manage that separately outside the product

- The Slack integration isn't very well thought through and there isn't enough granular control over what messages get posted where, so you end up not being able to meaningfully use it. (EG: we'd love to be able to automatically tell the team who is off on a particular day, but we can't because along with that comes all sorts of other messages that aren't relevant)—needs to be reworked with more flexibility in mind.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Charlie HR Advice service: Allows you to navigate HR issues in your business with the confidence you're doing things correctly.

Charlie HR software platform:

- Allows us to (mostly) keep track of people's holidays

- Helps a little with payroll details (though that could be way more seamless with some sort of slick Xero integration)

- Helps a little with onboarding people (though we do most of it outside the Charlie HR platform)

- Helps us with probation and annual reviews

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

CharlieHR have been very helpful with HR advice, their platform is very user-friendly and have made people operations much easier to scale at our quickly growing start up. The Charlie Team are incredibly responsive to my questions and queries and has been an invaluable source of People Advice.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

CharlieHR's 1-1s and Reviews sometimes feel a bit clunky so we do use an alternative provider for that. Likewise we have stopped using the Handbook function although the CharlieHR Policies are a great starting point. The most gritting feature is that custom data at CharlieHR isn't easy to bulk-upload - this means we're probably at the edge of how scalable charliehr is for us.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Charlie HR makes People Mangement and particularly people operations really easy to manage. We are particularly cautious about data & privacy and we are currently assured with CharlieHR, especially with their Diversity & Inclusion support. CharlieHR pulse surveying has worked well for our business.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

I really like the dashboard and I find it really easy to use. I like that theire are a lot of customisable features without being overcomplicated. The calendar is easy to view, so you can see who is off, performance reviews coming up and upcoming birthdays. It has all you could need for a small business in terms of helping with HR.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

The one thing that i find really annoying with Charlie HR is not being able to extend the submission or end date when you are doing reviews. We has a situation where we had to start the review process all over again because we couldn't extend the date and it was really frustrating.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What is really helping with our problems is the ability to schedule Performance Reviews, annual leave , company policy documents and much much more all in one place.

Luula and the team are super helpful, approachable and quick to respond. I signed up to CharlieHR to support us with completing an employee handbook. Which was incredible support. We had our first HR issue which Alisa jumped straight on in Luula's absence. When Luula returned her support was amazing she would have daily calls with me. Check and amend documents for me. She taught me so much! Thank you Luula!!

The fact that you don't offer the service to support with grievances.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

Even though we're a small company, the time saved using this platform runs to over 200 hours per year. We've had several HR meetings with Charlie for support and they've always been so quick to get back to us with clear advice which is tailored to us. 

I so wish we'd joined years ago, especially at the cost of just £4/pp. Every startup should do this! It's so much better to get things (policies, handbook, processes) in places when you're still small before you scale.

The team are always quick (within a few working hours) to get back to questions on the chat bot and they have article suggestions that are actually useful.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

Nothing - whenever we have small suggestions about improvements that could be made on the UX, we're listened to and ideas are sent to their development team.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time is the key element saved for us here with our contracts, annual leave and sickness tracking, policy updates and handbooks. We also use the add HR legal service which has already helped us no end.

We couldn't have asked for better HR partners than CharlieHR. Their portal has everything you need to manage HR in a small company and more, and their advice line has been invaluable to us when managing tricky situations.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

There are very few downsides to CharlieHR - when I do think of functionality that the platform doesn't have, the team are always happy to take my ideas back to their developers.

For a very reasonable price, CharlieHR offers top quality and up-to-date advice. We've also been able to jettison the many, many spreadsheets we used to use, in favour of a secure, easy-to-use platform, that saves on admin time.

We are not software customers at present, so I can only comment on the advice service. My contact Alisa is always so quick to respond to my queries and will always find time for a Zoom call if something is urgent (even if her calendar is full!). It makes me feel so much more relaxed knowing I can speak to someone who's qualified and can help me with the legal side of things. Especially as our business grows and we have more and more questions! Love the new DEI survey and follow-up call (thank you Karen) and am excited to use the new library. Keep up the good work!

Nothing to say on the advice service here - its fab.

We find the policies really helpful and, as Charlie is a similar size to us (but a bit bigger), it's really good to be able to ask 'how did you approach this?'.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

The response time on CharlieHR Advise is very fast, which is great when I am trying to work through tasks at pace. They are a friendly bunch and no questions ever seems too much for them, which is great, as we have  A LOT of questions! Sometimes HR is tricky to get your head around so I appreciate the simple way in which the team explain things.  And if the topic is fairly complex, they will give you a call to talk it through, which is very helpful, always nice to speak to a real person and not a bot.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

The only downside I can think of is that the cut-off time each day is 5 pm. We are open till 6 pm so sometimes I have missed the time to ask for advice. However, If I send a question after 5 pm, it is often picked up first thing and a response is sent to me the next morning. Other than that I can't think of anything else!

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small company without an HR department. There are only 15 of us in the team, so we can't justify employing full-time or even part-time HR personnel. So this support from CharlieHR perfectly fills that gap. I am the Operations Manager and I have been tasked with wearing the HR hat, but it isn't my area of expertise so having CharlieHR to check in with and help advise on HR topics is great. I appreciate having them there.

CharlieHR is so easy to navigate and has been a huge helping hand in our day to day. We've been using the advice service more frequently and it's been incredibly helpful.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

CharlieHR is a great and easy-to-use HR System which offers all of the necessary features for an SME to do everything they need in the People Operations space. Can't forget to mention that they are always coming out with useful new features and integrations.
Their helpdesk and specialist HR support are amazing too!

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

There are only two things I think they could do better (and I'm being very picky here). It would be great to see better reporting/analytics as well as more speed integrating with other service providers (e.g., ATS).

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CharlieHR allows us to securely carry out all Human Resources functions from one centralised platform. From safely storing employee information, allowing employees to book time off and find all company policies, to employee development and HR reporting, you can do pretty much everything. Their specialist (CIPD qualified) HR support service is also phenomenal when we need extra help!

CharlieHR has been extremely useful for our business and HR advice and for providing policies and handbooks for our employees. The review process feature has been beneficial in conducting detailed staff reviews.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

The only slight downside is that there is not a function to send policies to employees for them to sign that they have read and understood individual policies.

CharlieHR have assisted us in handling matters with employees that are sensitive, and they have provided in-depth advice to support us with these matters.

Their communication is excellent. Each person I have spoken to has been extremely friendly and knowledgable and they make great efforts to understand our specific needs and tailor their advice to our situation.

Haven't found any yet. We are very happy with the service they are providing.

Some of our documents were outdated and impersonal. They have helped to modernise key documents and have made them easily understood. They have also made some great suggestions for policies we might want to introduce, such as menstruation and mental health policies, which have gone down very well with staff and helped to make us a more inclusive company.

As a generalist within the People Ops space for a start-up, I'm often required to be an all-rounder. Having the HR advice service with CharlieHR gives me the perfect level of support and confidence in our HR practices. Since we started using CharlieHR back in 2019 we have found it invaluable in helping us to look after our employees. We have used the advisory service several times to help with problems and can highly recommend it.
The system is very easy to use and track all aspects of HR.

Can't think of a thing! Always fast and efficient responses so what is not to like?

Some major but mostly minor problems with employee issues such as roles and time spent on certain aspects of the job.

We're very impressed with the advice service and the process for creating and agreeing the company handbook - both were personal, responsive and oriented to our business needs

Charlie HR's new diversity, inclusion and equality survey has 14 categories but oddly does not include all 9 protected characteristics and despite requests to give individual companies choice to include the full 9 as well as the additional characteristics they have included there is no flexibility allowed by Charlie.  This means it feels like their internal political position is being imposed on their customers, which is disappointing.

Clear, consistent communication and record keeping regarding HR issues.  Able to access good HR advice and support despite not being able to afford an in house function currently

One place to monitor holiday and sickness, plus HR advice readily available when we need it, with quick and helpful advice.

More flexibility with allocating holiday to staff. Some of our staff work odd hours; it would be useful to be able to allocate holiday on a hourly basis.

HR advice with tricky situations.  We're not big enough for an in-house HR function so this is the perfect solution.  The advisors are knowledgeable and helpful.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

With 30 employees, we are big enough to need a proper review process but still do not have the critical mass for a dedicated HR person to co-ordinate and drive quarterly and annual performance review. CharlieHR does this really, really well.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

We run our payroll in Xero. There is no integration from CharlieHR to what I guess is the biggest accounting program in the UK which means we have to update the two manually. The manual update has caused numerous issues:- we accidentally paid an employee after they left as the manager had raised this in CharlieHR, but the accounts had not picked it up.

**What problems is CharlieHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance reviews: CharlieHR helps the scheduling, helps identify managers that need chasing up, and keeps the resulting information neatly together so we can easily review over an employee's tenure. 

Managing time and attendance (sick leave requests, holiday requests, and so on). While we can do this through Xero, CharlieHR has a much more complete implementation and efficiently works out leave to carry forward, etc.

Charlie makes HR admin very straightforward, e.g. performance reviews, time off etc. The HR advice service is ever so valuable for us as a small business.

Nothing that I dislike as such but I would love to be able to assign two line managers to certain employees and have both line managers able to edit review notes.

If you are a growing company and looking for a product that is cost-effective but have all the functionality of a HR system, look no further.

The reporting was incredibly basic
The talent section didn't work 
They basically restructure the homepage every few months, which is super annoying as just when you get used to it again, it all gets moved about!

As mentioned in the title it's a simple and easy system for the basics, e.g tracking holiday, sickness and storing personal details.

Not a great deal - everything so far has been really good. The only minor issue is having to update my own details can take longer because of the verification process it goes through.

**What do you like best about CharlieHR?**

CharlieHR is a user friendly HRMS system which takes care of all the essentials of staff management. It takes no instructions to learn as it's easy to self-navigate your way through all the features and functions of the platform and find what you need without hassle. I've used many different HRMS systems and this is one of the best ones I've come across in terms of UI and UX. We have a fairly small but global team and so don't need the huge overly convoluted systems for our company. Additionally, it also shows you all the updates it's made to the platform which I have found helpful and informative.

**What do you dislike about CharlieHR?**

I've not come across too many negatives with using this platform, it's been able to execute everything I've needed with ease and is fairly efficient. They could potentially look to incorporate more gamification features to help support engagement, or add features to help measure employee satisfaction/suggestions etc.

**Recommendations to others considering CharlieHR:**

If you have a small to medium sized business and need a simple and effective HR management system for your staff, CharlieHR should be able to meet your needs and additionally be an enjoyable platform for your staff to use.

We have a global team and are continuing to expand our offices, and CharlieHR is able to accommodate for the different time zones, offices, and employee policies within each respective jurisdiction. It allows us to manage all staff across all regions in one system and also provides an opportunity for staff to get to know fellow colleagues from other offices.

What i really love about charlie hr is it helps us to be connected even thou we are working remotely or from different contries -  all you have to do is plot your desired sched like filling  out the form without any hassle and then it'll be uplaoded right away and the upper management will be notified.

I love how you can easily book a time off and let your higher ups know that you're not going to be around ahead of time. You can also see who's in the office, who's working at home or who's away. It generally makes it easy for both the employee and employer.

I don't have any dislikes so far. For the short time that I have been using Charlie, everything seems okay.

I recommend other people to try it. You'll love the features and the "look and feel" of it.
