## OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management Reviews
  ### 1. Many promises, no delivery.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2025

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

It is a great idea for how to manage work and infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

We are currently two years into the "Professional Services" implementation, and not only do we have nothign to show for it, but OpenGov is putting the blame on our already-strained public works crew. We were sold a solution to a problem, but now we just have more problems and we're out almost $130k in taxpayer funds.

- Our account manager was unhelpful and coulnd't seem to find anyone who knows how the product works.
- When integrating with GIS, we lost data.
- There is no real integration with GIS systems, they simply ask for a username and password that they store in their database

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cartegraph Asset Management has simply caused gaps in reporting and a decrease in morale. There has been no benefit.

  ### 2. Track Work. Manage Assets. Spend Smarter

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard Mills O. | GIS Technician III, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Being able to efficiently manage infrastructure by the effective identification of asset conditions via task management, provides an ideal solution to knowing what you have, what state it's in, and how best to manage those infrastructures.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

It's not quite perfect yet. Although, it is continuously being updated based on user input and suggestions from community feedback. The advanced reporting aspect of Cartegraph needs to be more streamlined as this can prove difficult at times.
Unwanted data duplication and asset retirement do occasionally occur which can be frustrating to fix.
Scenario Builder could use more adjustments to better streamline user expected outcomes.
The mobile application display options can use more user adjustment selections.
Integration with third-party software can be rough at times.
It is, however, a great tool for municipalities requiring an edge in asset management of infrastructure.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

Like every software product out there, it has its downsides. Continuous updates are needed but it is a better option when considering municipal asset infrastructure management.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employees' work performance has increased due to efficient time management. In addition, having an insight into the budgetary analysis for each fiscal year provides an advantage in the proper management of allocated tax dollars.

  ### 3. Cartegraph Asset Management Software: An intuitive, modular solution for enhancing performance.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary M. | GIS Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Cartegraph is an intuitive, streamlined program, that offers a quick turnaround on efficiency while requiring relatively minimal experience from a new user. Managing assets, tasks, labor, etc. becomes second nature quickly, as the user interface for each aspect of the program is consistent. It makes it easy to review data against GIS records, and helps field crews ease into increasingly more detailed data collection and recording with increased use.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

While Cartegraph enables an organization to begin managing assets across multiple departments and boosting interdepartmental buy-in in a short time, many of the more granular reporting mechanisms which can be extremely useful may be more difficult for new administrators or require more time to master. It's a minor problem, as CG Support has yet to be unable to directly help me custom tailor a report to exacting requirements if I have been unable to do so myself when a standardized report is not sufficient.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As part of a City government charged not only with tracking infrastructure and assets, but also with being accountable for the use, maintenance, and efficiency of said assets, GIS offers the ability to detail every feature precisely. While this works well for my office, in a supportive role towards our actual Public Works departments, Cartegraph enables Superintendents and Department Heads to manage their areas of concern, delegate to the team leads, and reasonably expect timely data input from staff that improves the fidelity and usefulness of the GIS data, while reducing the strain of direct GIS proficiency solely to the GIS department. Useful information regarding assets, labor, materials, etc. is available easily to the Public Works staff, without the need for heavy technical experience, and the integration allows the near-real-time updating of GIS data for review and dissemination by my office, without personally field checking every asset, because the subject matter experts are using Cartegraph to make sure accurate data is being reflected.

  ### 4. Powerful Asset Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Cartegraph OMS is a powerful asset management software that allows an organization to manage a wide range of assets. They are always improving, adding features that their users request. Its tie-in to GIS is using the best practice of connecting to your live GIS layers using a GIS Server so everything is in sync and up-to-date.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

There is a learning curve for the average user to become proficient in it. I don't know how you could provide such a powerful program without it being a little complicated, but they try to make it as user-friendly as possible.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

I do think this is the best solution out there for asset management. If you don't have the budget, I could see using esri tools to do some of the same stuff, but it isn't going to be as cohesive, powerful, or as easy to manage as Cartegraph is.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us in knowing the condition of our assets, managing and documenting work done on those assets, and providing data at the tip of employees' fingertips.

  ### 5. COTS - Asset Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2023

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The mobile portion (android cell phone configuration), is simultaneously built-in to the desktop configuration but also allows customization of the mobile interface.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The more complex features like Scenario Builder and ROW Permitting needs more time to mature and back-end customization.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing numerous workflows with location-based ESRI tools

  ### 6. Cartegraph is your ticket to efficient, flexible, and user friendly asset management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

It is extremely customizable yet user-friendly. The Cartegraph model encourages customization and the platform is flexible enough to allow clients to build workflows that work for them while also providing enough limitations to ensure database and program integrity.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

When I'm limited by the current development. There are times I have envisioned a development plan for a particular workflow but the current state of development for the app is not where I need it to be to accomplish that. This is not a deal breaker however because there are always multitude other solutions to get to whatever end goal I'm reaching for.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cartegraph is helping us route our labor crews more efficiently. It is allowing us to improve the integrity of our utility asset databases and collect data real-time that is meaningful. It has improved the budgeting and reporting process for our utilities and it has helped us to identify areas of potential income. We are able to track our solid waste service more efficiently such that we can now tell when and why a cart may not have been picked up which results in greater accountability for our crews as well as our citizens. There are many ways in which Cartegraph has improved operations, possibly the greatest of which is customer communication and service.

  ### 7. Cartegraph is an amazing platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben Y. | GIS Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

I enjoy how responsive the staff is whether it be a support question or a customer service question. I always feel like a priority and never feel like a burden.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The only downside about Cartegraph is how it can feel unintuitive when you first are introduced to it. I have found that once you work with it for a while it becomes much more intuitive, however, you have to get over that first hurdle when starting with the program.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization hasn't reached full Cartegraph implementation yet so it might be too early to tell. Looking ahead, I can see it benefiting us in budgeting and increasing our knowledge of our city's assets.

  ### 8. Top Notch Company and Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Cartegraph OMS is a pleasure to work with as a company and a product. The product is very powerful, but not overwhelming for new users. They keep the interface consistent throughout the product, so once you learn one section of the software, it will seem familiar in other areas. The company supports its product directly. No third-party installers or foreign support groups to worry about, you work directly with the owner of the product. They are very responsive to their users and respond to user input. They take suggestions submitted by end-users to their customer Ideas portal and build new features and tweaks regularly. I wish other products I support were as easy to work with as Cartegraph OMS. They have become the benchmark that we use in our IT department to compare other products. Good stuff.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Not a real downside to Cartegraph itself, more of an issue with working with a complex system. If you are starting fresh, then be prepared to put in the work and have support from management to the field. These types of systems will make you reevaluate how you do work. More than likely, things will change. Be open to the change and look at it as an opportunity to fix your business practices. This will NOT be a one-man endeavor. You will need a team for this to be successful.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a reason the product is called Operational Management System (OMS). It's much more than a work order system. It will give everyone in your organization access to the same data. Your field crews will be able to see that same historical data as your management. No more outdated paper map books. No more paper anything. You can start capturing just about everything digitally. Set up automations in the system to help automate repetitive tasks, or use them to trigger tasks based on conditions you set. You can forecast the condition of your assets to help build your budgets, and help decide where to spend that new budget. The more data you collect into the system, the more you realize the power of all of that data. It is a powerful tool that gives you the freedom to think outside of the box. Do you have automated rain gauges at your organization? Our organization is building an integration to pull the daily rain totals into Cartegraph and then have Influx and Infiltration tasks automatically generated based on a rainfall threshold. This gives us timely tasks generated for our crews and a record of work done on the issue. All automated.

  ### 9. Cartegraph is my go to software for asset management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | Maintenance Journeyman, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

I spend most of my time in the assets section of Cartegraph and it has been indispensable for what I do. All the information I need is with me in the field with Cartegraph

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

There really isn't anything I dislike about Cartegraph

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm usually out in the field so I spend a lot of time on the app version of Cartegraph and it's constantly getting better. It's getting better and better with being able to manage assets in the field.

  ### 10. Cartegraph is very easy to learn even with very limited knowledge of GIS systems.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle V. | City Forester, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Being able to set up a personalized layout view that works best for me. The cartegraph one app complements the web-based version very well. It is also much simpler to understand than programs such as ARC Online.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The biggest time waste I ran into was repetitively editing multiple assets with the same note over and over. However, this was remedied with a bulk edit feature that was recently added in an update.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cartegraph is used by me to inventory and track trees as assets on city properties. The task feature communicates with my contractor to coordinate work that needs to get done and keeps all records of past work done for future reference.

  ### 11. The team at Cartegraph has been very supportive while we fully implement the software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica S. | GIS Specialist / Systems Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

I like the functionality of Cartegraph including the use of mapping in or out of the field.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

I would like to see the syncing with ESRI improve.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

Make sure to use all services when using the software, such as Cartegraph Campus.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cartegraph has been working with us to solve some of the syncing issues. Some of these problems were solved by additional training for our employees.

  ### 12. Asset Management that works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Administrators can easily create and customize assets, end users can easily log their time, obtain detailed information and attach inspection/asset pictures. The ability to utilize automation is another favorite of ours. Continuous improvement on the mobile app. and their customer service and support staff are always top-notch.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Reporting functionality in Cartegraph. Advanced reports are not as easy to use as other reporting software such as Crystal Reports.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We finally have everyone using Cartegraph, which we did not have with the previous asset management software.

  ### 13. I've been very pleased with Cartegraph OMS's capabilities and functionality.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor H. | Business Systems Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Automation manager and the support staff.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Honestly, nothing comes to mind we love it.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Asset management and operation management. This is allowing us to provide better service and save money.

  ### 14. The staff has been create getting us set up and answering our questions.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Centralizing our fleet, utilities, parks

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Creating reports is not user friendly - too much programming involved for the novace.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

It is a great tool for tracking facilities, fleet and utilities. Collects data for budgeting, fleet management and maintenance. Useful now and for the future.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking our fleet, facilities and maintenance of storm, sewer, water utilities. More data for us and more efficiencies for our team.

  ### 15. Very easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill C. | Maintenace supervisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Well organized format. Very helpful in keeping inventory.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

So far I have not come across anything that I dislike.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my inventory straight is most helpful.

  ### 16. Cartegraph's famous line, "This feature may not be available in every package."

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The tech support is definitely the best feature. Their support team is small (less than 10 people), but it is very capable. They can respond instantly via phone, but it usually takes a few days for them to return an email.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The development is very stagnant. New, useful features are rare. They very rarely incorporate highly suggested features in a timely manner. Their update cycle is about every 6 months. The system feels clunky and needs an overhaul even though it is only a few years old.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

Look around before committing to this. They may have been in the market for a while, but I feel there the system is not very user-friendly for non-technologically-inclined users. I personally feel more training would have gone a long way. Additional if you can see how other users use this system would be extremely beneficial.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Cartegraph for our asset management and work order system. We are able to see what work has been completed on a map. It integrates well with Esri's ArcGIS, but it does not work with any other GIS platforms including but not limited to Google Maps API and QGIS.

  ### 17. My experience with Cartegraph has been positive with both the software and the company itself.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The flexibility and ability to customize the software on your own.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

It would be nice to have more industry advice built into the system on typical asset condition curves and suggestions on how to extend the life of assets through optimally timed maintenance efforts.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency gains have been realized across the organization, all while simultaneously performing more thorough documentation and asset information capture.

  ### 18. Excellent system capable of making the workplace productive.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2020

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Excellent customer service when you need it the most.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Sometimes the automations can be tedious to set up in order to function properly.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

It’s a phenomenal system but you need to really spend time to get to figure out all the bells and whistles.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To improve the efficiency of my workplace.

  ### 19. Asset Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley O. | Field Engineer Intern, Civil Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Very easy to create fields, sort assets, view labor and equipment use. We are able to use the software for many other purposes such as inspections for environmental concerns.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

With Cartegraph there is a quite a few nuances to getting it to work perfectly. Often it will take quite some time to apply filters correctly after years of data compilation.

**Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management:**

Look into all of the features the software can offer

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to track tasks more efficiently

  ### 20. An integrated view of asset information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee H. | Vice President of Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

We really liked the flexibility and usability of Cartegraph. The configuration tools gave the Cartegraph administrators in our organization the flexibility we needed to address a lot of different unique needs. We also were able to create very simple work processes to support different end user populations with varying degrees of technical competence.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The pricing methodology can be confusing for customers and Cartegraph seems to have a strategy of segmenting out features into additional offerings. While that may make sense for smaller organizations that don't need everything, for larger municipal customers it seems to me there should be an easy to understand enterprise license that includes the full scope of Cartegraph functionality.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped us get a handle on all of our different assets that were previously tracked in a variety of spreadsheets. With Cartegraph we have a single source of truth that we can use to make decisions.

  ### 21. Quality asset Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2019

**What do you like best about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

The way that assets intuitively are connected to tasks and then work orders.

**What do you dislike about OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management?**

Sometimes it doesn't allow you to organize and filter assets the way you'd expect.

**What problems is OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing assets with missing information and creating tasks and work orders to help fix missing or incorrect data.
