As a FedEx sales rep, I’m on the road a lot—anywhere from 2000 to 3000 km a month—and the last thing I want to do is worry about logging every trip manually. Cardata tracks everything in the background without me having to think about it. The app is simple, clean, and makes mileage tracking stress-free. Plus, anytime I’ve had questions, their customer support has been super quick and helpful, which I appreciate. I have had to manage my insurance and update it several times, and they take action and get things resolved within 24 business hours - which I love. The app itself is great. It tracks everything in the background, and then you designate trips as business or personal each month. If it misses a trip, you can add it pretty quickly. There are some hiccups with address searching in the create a trip screen, but its good overall. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** The main downside I’ve noticed is that sometimes the GPS doesn’t pick up properly in certain areas, like when I’m driving through the country in my rural routes. When that happens, I have to go in and fix the trip manually, which can be frustrating. It would be nice if it could connect with things like my calendar to make classifying trips even faster. The only other obstacle is battery usage, which can sometimes be significant. The reminders for monthly seperation of business and personal is a great feature as well. I have not had to use customer support much but the communication between email has been easy. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** I dislike having to record my insurance every few months but other than that, the application is pretty easy to use and not difficult to understand. My company wants a five year or newer midsize sedan to be "in compliance" With the retail costs, insurance at the required levels they require (which is significantly higher than the state minimum required coverages) and the increased costs of maintennance and repairs; I lose money every month I drive with their software. For example, on my trips for one day if I have 15 stops, there are 15 different maps for each stop and I'd prefer to see a list style. I dislike having to press "delete" every time I delete a trip. It sounds small but a "yes or no" prompt to answer Are you sure? would make a big difference. It can happen on occasion that a trip won't show up for some time after the trip is ended. I also like that trips can be cancelled. The mileage recording app we used previously depleted the phone's battery much more than CarData, although both apps require location to aleays be turned on for best results. It was easy to understand and implement the app on my phone. It is relatively easy to add a trip that was somehow missed. It doesn’t always run, it sometimes stops tracking, and randomly logs you out so you have to enter credentials to get back in. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** Everything - the user experience for confirming mileage looks like an embedded google sheets document. A recent example of why I don’t like the app: I confirmed the app was tracking me at the beginning of my day (which you have to do because it isn’t reliable). The first part of my trip was tracked successfully but the second leg of 150+ miles, was not at all. So now I get to go back and guesstimate on my mileage and reimbursement. This isn’t the first time this has happened. The app has also stopped tracking in heavy congestion and doesn’t always start back up after through the congestion…how many miles have I lost in these situations? Dunno. For several months I ended up subscribed to another mileage tracking app just to get a second opinion on my monthly miles - Cardata never matched the other apps miles and was always much less. This should not be an exhausting effort added to the daily to do list for traveling sales reps. Set it and forget it because it is reliable should be the goal. It doesn't always track your drive, and you need to check it a couple times a week at and a few times every month. It's never consistent. With the new update, the program will remember locations/trips and pre-classify them for you, so you don't have to, making it even more user friendly. It was an easy intregration into the company and replaced a previous vendor. Quick replies can make a big difference when you need help. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** Encountered some frustrating issues with the app. Missing a notification for something as important as uploading a new insurance card, especially when it affects your reimbursement, is definitely a big inconvenience. My notifications are on, but it’s concerning that I didn’t receive it. The issue with the app automatically turning off my schedule for recording mileage periodically also seems like a significant problem. Having to manually enter my mileage can be time-consuming and defeats the purpose of having an automated system. Not a fan of the platform either.
