**What do you like best about caralegal?**

The best thing about caralegal is that I can document processes, but it reduces the effort for manual follow-ups. The responsible employees/stakeholders are assigned structured tasks and the data protection team has an overview of the progress. The UI is clear and guides you through the process in a structured way. The features are useful for data protection teams and cover a large part of the relevant documentation tasks and process topics in data protection.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

Some users need a bit more onboarding to understand the workflow logic, but this may be more due to a general understanding of data protection issues than to caralegal. Once the users have been introduced, it generally works very well and is gladly used.

**What problems is caralegal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that caralegal solves is the need to "chase after" information across multiple departments/contacts. The tool provides better process visibility, ensures faster responses, and thus leads to significantly more complete documentation.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

I really appreciate how caralegal keeps information synchronized across workflows. Inputs from business users can be reused in assessments, documentation and follow-up tasks, which avoids duplicate work. The user experience is clean and makes it easier for non-experts to contribute.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

For very complex organizations, the initial data model and responsibilities need to be thought through carefully. That is not really a product weakness, but it is important for a successful rollout.

**What problems is caralegal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

caralegal helps us connect people, processes and documentation. Before, information was fragmented across different tools and teams. Now we have better visibility into the status of privacy activities, open tasks and required documentation. This improves collaboration and makes audits much easier to prepare.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

We use caralegal in the Group Data Privacy environment of an internationally operating corporation and have had very good experiences with it.
Particularly noteworthy is the practical design of the tool: caralegal helps to map complex data protection processes – such as DSARs, DPIAs, or Incident Management – in a structured and comprehensible manner. Especially in a decentralized setup with many participants, the clear process guidance is extremely helpful.
The continuous development based on customer feedback is also noticeable. Everyday requirements are taken seriously and visibly incorporated into the product. The exchange at the customer event confirmed this once again.
Another plus point is the good balance between standardization and flexibility: The system provides clear guidelines but at the same time leaves enough room to accommodate company-specific requirements.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

We see potential for improvement in the usability of individual functions and in further integration with existing system landscapes – however, we are confident that this will also develop over time.

**What problems is caralegal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conclusion: caralegal is a very good tool for companies that want to professionalize and scale their data protection management – especially in complex, international structures.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

caralegal is not just a static document storage platform, but enables active collaboration between responsible employees, departments, and, if necessary, the external data protection officer. It supports data protection documentation in all central areas (e.g., RPA, data protection incidents, data subject requests, deletion, service provider overview) and allows for easy updating of documents. Additionally, the AI integration assists less technically inclined employees with the required documentation. Automations enable efficient and swift processing. The caralegal team is always available for external support.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

More complex features currently require more fine-tuning to offer the possibility of mapping actual corporate structures and implementations. However, caralegal has consistently demonstrated in the past that feedback and requests for adjustments are implemented promptly. Revisions are made regularly.

**What problems is caralegal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

caralegal helps companies manage data protection more efficiently and in a clearly structured manner. Documents and documentation are centrally located and can be quickly accessed and updated by the responsible persons. Manual documentation is largely replaced, responsibilities are more clearly organized, and can be more efficiently adapted and reevaluated for new processes.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

What I like best is how intuitive caralegal is for both privacy teams and business users. The guided workflows make complex compliance tasks much easier to complete, especially when input is needed from different departments. The platform reduces back-and-forth communication and helps everyone understand what they need to do.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

Some advanced configuration options require initial setup and internal alignment. Once the workflows are configured, the day-to-day use is very smooth.

caralegal helps us move away from scattered emails, spreadsheets and manual follow-ups. It gives us a central place to collect information, assign responsibilities, track status and document decisions. This improves transparency, reduces manual effort and helps us complete privacy tasks faster and more consistently.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

What I love most about caralegal is how it takes the absolute headache out of data privacy compliance and actually makes it collaborative. Instead of drowning in endless spreadsheets and chasing down different departments for DPAs or PAs, everything is centralized and automated.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

If you are looking for an all-in-one, massive GRC platform that handles absolutely everything from financial auditing to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) tracking, caralegal isn't going to be that tool. It is strictly and deeply focused on information security, AI governance, and data privacy regulations.

A concrete example: Our corporate sustainability team recently asked if we could manage our carbon footprint tracking and ESG documentation within the same platform we use for compliance. We realized caralegal doesn’t support that. However, for our legal and IT teams, this "limitation" is actually a massive plus. Because they don't try to be a jack-of-all-trades GRC tool, they are incredibly sharp at what they do do. Instead of bloatware, we get a hyper-focused platform that perfectly handles heavy-hitting digital regulations. When we had to map out our compliance roadmap for NIS2 and the new Data Act last quarter, the specialized templates and workflows within caralegal made it seamless—something a generic, broad GRC tool would have made way too complicated.

What I appreciate most is the clear assignment of responsibilities. caralegal makes it easy to see who needs to do what, what is still open and where a workflow currently stands.

Some workflow templates could be expanded further for more specialized use cases. The standard workflows already cover our main needs well.

caralegal solves the challenge of unclear ownership in privacy processes. Tasks, deadlines and responsibilities are more transparent, which helps us complete work faster and with better documentation.

The biggest benefit is automation. caralegal turns recurring privacy tasks into structured workflows with clear owners, reminders and documentation. This is especially valuable for assessments and data mapping, where we otherwise had to manually chase information from multiple stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about caralegal?**

There is still room to expand integrations with some internal tools, but the existing workflow automation already creates a strong efficiency gain.

caralegal solves the problem of repetitive manual work in privacy management. We can trigger surveys, collect answers, classify data and keep documentation synchronized without constantly managing everything manually. This saves time and makes our processes more reliable.

While the tool is able to mirror the internal processes, the setup including the different roles requires some effort. This, however, is basically the same with all tools out there and not Caralegal's fault.

**What do you like best about caralegal?**

Our primary concern when selecting was to ensure the comprehensiveness to cover all our compliance needs, yet remaining an easy to use platform for all employees. Caralegal had everything I needed from processing activities over risks to deletion concepts, it was the most comprehensive software we evaluated without just saying “you can create your own templates”. All the legal concept work is already done. When we onboarded our team though, we were really impressed as no one complaint about compliance. They rather were surprised by the ease and smart legal assistance due to the user-friendly interface. Having worked over a year with the software we get happier every day as caralegal is developing on a fast and secure path into new fields. E. g. we just upgraded to not only use the strengths within the privacy and vendor processes (they call it flows) but also within risk management and ai governance.

To summarise, despite its robust features, caralegal is intuitive and accessible, making it easy to navigate even for those who aren’t privacy specialists. It effectively combines depth and simplicity, allowing us to manage complex data protection tasks without the software feeling cumbersome. In my experience, Caralegal delivers a powerful, comprehensive solution that enhances our compliance processes while being straightforward to use.

A year ago they didn’t have something for the ropa 2 (Art. 30 Abs. 2) but now they have it even connected to the ropa 1 which is automating so much work for us.

Caralegal helps us solve all our compliance needs and makes this process incredibly easy! Sth we were not able to do well or easily before.. now it is!

Caralegal has suitable data protection mechansims, and they all impact of privacy and clarity. Besides,  Caralegal has proper data access modalities, all increasing the operational efficiency of a company. In case there is the breach of data, an immediate notification is made.
