**What do you like best about Calamari?**

As a small business, administrative tasks can be very tedious. Keeping track of employee time off has always been a headache until I found calamari. Simple set up and it integrates well with  Slack so that time off can be requested. approved,other team members notified of upcoming time off of colleagues,  Balances are automatically updated throughout the year. I don't even have to remember to reset everything at the beginning of the year.

I haven't found anything that Ididn't like.

Save me so much time and communication is seamless.

**What do you like best about Calamari?**

We use the HR module in Calamari to handle vacations/sick leaves and regular employee leaves. Our team is distributed across Serbia, BiH and Jordan. Having an easy to use online platform, with fair per user pricing plans that is available to all our employees cross border was crucial. Our teams use it daily, we rely on its data to issue our service invoices. We track entitlements, vacation trends and much more. We recently integrate it via the API using an automation platform to issue invoices on a monthly basis. We rarely require customer support as the documentation is very good and clear with step by step instructions. Whenever we needed extra help the team at Calamari was amazing. The move to Clamari was easy, it took us couple of hours to setup the teams and we were good to go.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

The mobile app for Calamari is functional. It can be polished a little bit more, however, it does deliver the main focus for us which allows our managers to approve/decline requests on the go especially during travel time. The platform is very stable, it had one or two outages since we started using it in January 2022 (2.5 years so far). The communication of outages or maintenance events can be enhanced. To be fair, those two incidents were solved quickly (less than a couple of hours) and it had no impact on our day to day business.

**What problems is Calamari solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are an SME. When we were a small 5-10 employees team a Google Sheet was sufficient to log vacation. As we grew to +50 employees we required a service that allows employees to easily request absence as well as provide us with accurate reporting on total work days. Furthermore, having 3 locations with a single online paltform made a world of difference to streamline this aspect.

CS - the communication with Calamari team is super fast and efficient. Especially Agnieszka - the best customer support I have ever received. Always helpful, will find any solution to any real or imaginary problem :)))))

It solves the issue of managing employee leave requests by allowing employees to easily submit their vacation requests. With notifications integrated into MS Teams and email, I am continuously updated on all submissions. The entire process is 100% electronic, which significantly simplifies time management. Additionally, Calamari meets legal requirements, making this format acceptable for authorities, which is a considerable advantage for our organization.

Getting time off is usually a headache, but Calamari turns it into an easy process. Click, click, bam – vacation requested! Plus, it's got this cool auto-calculate thing for leaves. No more brain gymnastics trying to figure out if you've got enough days left.

I find it hard to pinpoint any aspects that I dislike.

I like the fact that I can just enter the dates needed to take time off from work rather than going through a whole long process of completing forms and all of that extra jazz

To be honest there is not much to dislike, however, I wish we were given the option of also entering when we would like our days off during our time off requests

The problem it is solving is avoiding the use of going through completing a whole form to request time off from work. You even have the option of requesting sick leaves, pretty cool.

it is very easy to keep track of your time off. i'm only using it as a user and to be fair it's not too much different than other annual leave management software. has integrations with slack which is good

not that i think it should be more complex, however the design seems a bit bland and boring. maybe the developers should work on making it a bit more colourful and playful or something as the logo gives me this kind of vibe

it's solving the problem of having to track people's annual leave. it benefits me because a lot of the time i don't even have to ask verbally for a day off, when i can just request it in the app

Calamari's function is simple - to manage stuff days off. So is a Calamari itself - a simple tool without any excess features, very comprehensible and user-friendly.

I didn't see any things that could be considered flaws in Calamari. Maybe one thing, more emotional than functional: you should use Calamari when you are sick, so sometimes it reminds you about not-so-happy times.

Thanks to Calamari you can control the number of annual leave days left. The second important thing: your team can see that you are not available and who is your substitute.

It is very easy to track when teammates are off, as well as see your total vs current time off entitlement. Plus, the reminder emails ensure I always get back to my team.

The Apply and Calendar pages look nearly identical and should be combined. I often find myself trying to do tasks appropriate to one on the other. The Board section itself is also redundant with the tabs on the left hand side

Calamari makes it super simple to count the days you'll be off work. Whether you are sick, taking a vacation, or something else, their system helps you in a few steps to get it done and approved by your supervisor.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

I don't dislike anything about Calamari. I've been using it as a supervisor and with my own boss. It works great both ways. It's very simple to use it and it doesn't take much time like other similar softwares.

Calamari helps me speed up the process of approving days off for the people I supervise. I also use it to request my days off or sick days. It's been great to have a system instead of sending a bunch of emails back and forth that can eventually end up being lost.

Vacation allotments, booking, changing and reviewing dates of myself and colleagues was easy to use and explain to others. Clean simple interface.

Didn't use all of the features as a user so there was not a ton to dislike about the platform. Mobile app needed maybe?

**What do you like best about Calamari?**

The interface is very modern, and I thought it was relatively user-friendly (some of my staff disagreed, however). I really liked that I could set flows for PTO approval, so it could be OK'ed by their manager, and then sent to me to mark the calendar and get things settled from the HR end.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

Because I was only using their time off management system, as opposed to both their time off and time clock systems, employees could not accrue time. I simply had it set that on the first of the year, they could see all 120 hours available to them. Despite instructions to employees that they needed to look at their timecard to get actual accruals, and that hourly employees may not accrue all 120 hours if they do not work a full workweek, etc, employees had a lot of difficulty understanding that what Calamari listed was not necessarily entirely accurate. And while I felt that this software was pretty intuitive, employees would often forget to change the dropdown type of time off (Bereavement was listed first, alphabetically), or asking for partial days off. 

I chose not to use their time clock system because I did not like the options. I was looking for a kiosk or app that could be used with a PIN or biometric data or something else where it is not necessary to individually log in to clock in. Not all employees have a computer to use the browser. Using an iBeacon doesn't allow people to clock in/out for breaks, so that didn't work. Additionally, salaried employees could not accrue unless they also clocked in/out.

Using their time off management system is much better than the previous paper system we were using. It has saved time and money, and reduced errors.

The Calendar for knowing who's in/out the office is great.  easy for user and admin. Good to keep track of days off.  platform is somewhat customizable.  good support. integrates with google calendar. can clock in with qr code or from computer depending on settings

company is not in USA so have to pay through paypal which can feel and look a bit strange.  employees do not all have the same amount of time off allowed per year so admin has to edit by hand days off each year for each employee

**What do you like best about Calamari?**

Previously, we were managing leave requests with tools that weren't specifically made for this purpose, thus it required significant manual effort.
We switched to Calamari about a year ago and it has made the process much simpler both for managers and also for employees. Nobody in the company has any noteworthy complaints.
For any configuration questions and issues, Calamari's support provides quick, helpful and personal assistance.
All in all, we are happy with Calamari and will continue using it.

Some of the configuration options are not self-explanatory, but for any questions, Calamari Support provides help.

Simplified leave request and approval procedure. Convenient way to see who is on holiday when. Good way to record and manage basic employee data.

Staff worked with us to fully explain and customize the platform to what we needed. Love that it syncs with Google calendar

It would be nice if the google sync wasn't an all or nothing solution.  Our company has 3 divisions using our Calamari account and it would be nice to just see the people in our own division's team calendar events and not everybody's.

We have been able to get rid of a clock in software and our manual request off and logging software.  We mounted a tablet by our door and employees use the QR code scanner when they enter to clock in and out instead of having to log in on their computer--and they actually have to be here and can't be sneaky and do it remotely

Kamil really helped me out a lot when I was trying to configure some unique rules. Fast replies and customer service. The Slack integration is really helpful so that managers are also able to approve/reject requests directly on Slack. The best thing about Calamari is also it's UI/UX design which is clean and easy to navigate around.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

There is nothing to dislike. Kamil went above and beyond to help me out.

Easy to learn software that is easy to set up and use. The team at Calamari is also great with customer service and is constantly improving their features.

Working in a company with numerous remote staff, being able to create different leave rules for the various staff really helps in helping us track their leaves and holidays better.

**What do you like best about Calamari?**

Easy to setup and introduce to the team. It is easy to start thanks to integration with Google Apps and others. Whole team is ready to use Calamari right away. The best feature is to check how many days you got left, so you can plan you next vacation. From the manager point of view, you got calendar that shows you each day with team presence.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

Not so much.  UI can be modern, all it can be customized for company brand colors, not is only green. To setup custom leave rules you need to dig a bit, but after a while you now how to do that.

Just try and see if it fits your need.

Leave Managment for my team. Easy to track holidays for my team. Before that we use Excel, which was super easy to start, but was har to colaborate.

I like the Slack bot integration, especially when I'm able to accept a vacation request from within Slack.

**What do you dislike about Calamari?**

The employee who was submitting hours for me to approve was regularly screwing it up and having to make second or third requests to update the hours. I wish they could just update the hours themselves. Also, the software should probably know that he didn't work 30+ hours in a row!

**What problems is Calamari solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking vacation and intern hours. As a manager it's not super helpful, but I do like that it remembers how much vacation someone has used that year so far.

It's like a step in to the future. No more leave request forms and signing attendance list. Clear, user friendly and intuitive interface, great mobile apps for beacons and superb customer service. Once you try it you will love it!

Easily manage your own holidays. Ability to suspect at any time how many days I can use. Applying (even under when you drunk) leave on demand (no need to call the boss)

Color in the application is not my favorite. You can't buy more holiday days: P

People holidaysmanagment. We resigned from paper applications, everyone know how many days can use and when other workers take holiday. They can flexibly chose and negotiate vacation without engage administartion.
