## Buildxact Reviews
  ### 1. Simplicity Lost, Frustrating Experience

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I appreciated Buildxact's simplicity, particularly on the estimating side. No matter what size project, the estimating function was simple yet very accurate. The more I used it, the more repeatable everything became. The scheduling function was also simple, with no fuss, yet it had all the info needed and presented a professional schedule.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The entire take-off and estimating function are now unbearable. If I'm part way through an estimate and want to review a past take-off, instead of simply clicking the tool button and being taken directly to the take-off, it reverts to the take-off page where I have to sift through the pages to find the take-off. Any updates that have been done over the past 24 months have been horrendous.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Buildxact for estimating and scheduling. Its simplicity in estimating makes projects of any size manageable and provides very accurate results. The scheduling feature is straightforward, containing all needed info and presenting professional schedules.

  ### 2. Buildxact Excels at Estimating and Quote Generation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rod H. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Buildxact is a great estimating and quote generation program, whilst it does have some limits with financial tracking and site programs etc its strengths lie in estimating and quotes

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

buildxact is not all inclusive for onsite works, whilst linking to safety programs and whilst being able to send out for quoting etc , often what is seen at other users scene doesnt look as good as it could when sent through buildxact

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

buildxact is speeding up the programs with use of auto scaling etc, the downside is that over the recent months ive noticed the program is slowing down and often buffers

  ### 3. Buildxact’s Estimating and Quote Tools Make Tasks Faster

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I like the system’s estimating functions. The setup process is intuitive, and the AI helps speed up tasks as well. Another thing I enjoy is the way Buildxact presents quotes, along with the ability to modify them so I can change what the client sees.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

I would like it more if the scheduling side of tyhe software were a bit more user friendly. specifically i want to be able to view in full screen, zoom in and out more effectively, and see the timeline of every project on the same screen, and where potential overlaps are.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildxact has taken our average estimate time on a new build from 6 hours to about 15 minutes.

  ### 4. Streamlined Quoting and Scheduling Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I appreciate Buildxact for its time efficiency and how it simplifies tasks like quoting. The great templates make this process easier. I like that everything I need is in one software. Additionally, I value the takeoff tools that help with getting accurate pricing. The initial setup was very easy, which is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Maybe a section where you could have all jobs on the one schedule - so you can see a bigger picture if you are running multiple projects at once

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Buildxact simplifies and is time efficient for quoting with great templates, and everything is in one software. I like the take-off tools for accurate pricing.

  ### 5. Fast Takeoffs, Accurate Estimating & Seamless Project Management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

The best things i like about Builodxact are:
-The fast digital takeoffs and estimating that cut quoting time dramatically, -Live supplier price lists keeping numbers accurate.
-It runs the whole workflow — leads, quotes, schedules, POs, invoices . ----The Xero integration is excellent
-Reusable estimate templates suits my modular products pod, and live cost-vs-estimate tracking improves future quotes.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The mobile app needs refinement, very weak compared to others in the market.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides transparencey across my estimating team, allows me to track products cost easily.

  ### 6. Smooth, Well-Designed Layout That Flows Naturally

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross O. | Builder/Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

The layout and how it flows work well for me.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The mobile phone version is a bit tricky, although I wouldnt want to risk pricing or quoting on a phone.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Templates and the ability to quote quickly.

  ### 7. Easy to Use—A Smooth Transition Even with Limited Computer Skills

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deon H. | Construction Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

It is easy to use. Coming from a trade back groud with limited computer skills, the transition has been really easy.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Some of the features feel a bit limited when it comes to how much you can customise them.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now that I’ve spent some time setting up price lists and recipes, it’s saving me hours. I can use that time to refine my quotes and make them extremely thorough.

  ### 8. Loaded with functionality without the high sticker price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan C. | Owner/President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

All the tools I need to run the day to day activities of my business at a price point that enabled us to onboard the platform from the opening of our business which gave us a professional platform to output consistent polished deliverables and manage all our data from estimates through the project completion. Very easy to implement, intuitive interface that even the non-computer leaning folks can use it.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The software is geared toward residential contractors - a version for subcontractors would be awesome.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the workflow from estimating to project start and through the end of the project is essential. Too many companies use multiplatform tools that are easy to make mistakes and look different depending on who is sending them. Buildxact gives us a system to run our entire project within one platform creating profession estimates, invoices, work orders, purchase orders, and everything in between.

  ### 9. As easy as Excel but 100X better

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken L. | Director/Builder, Construction, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I liked how easy it was to get started and how intuitive it was after using excel spreadsheets for many years. I was able to step straight into using it in live quotes and jobs. The videos and live support were super helpful but mostly it seemed natural and was easy to pick up.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

How much of the program's power there is still to master after 18 months of use.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speeds up Lead to Estimate, Smooth switch from Estimate to contract. Purchase and Work Orders are a few clicks to sent out. Variations are now super simple so I'm capturing a lot more value from my jobs. Estimate Version Capture means that when clints want to see how much something will cost I can still jump back to the original quotes. The Communication platform looks amazing but that is the next thing I'm going to Master.

  ### 10. Customisable Templates and Supplier Integration Make Estimating Far More Versatile

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Having a fully customisable template with direct supplier integration makes estimating far more versatile than the old spreadsheet method

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The customisation for quote outputs is somewhat limited, there is a code option but a simplified, highly customisable design dashboard seems like a much better way forward than the current system

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all quotes in the one place and making takeoffs much faster

  ### 11. Easy to Use, Great Value—Professional Quotes and Smooth Xero Linking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I find it easy to use. The accounting part links easily across to Xero. It also makes my quotes easier to prepare for potential clients, and the quote layout looks professional helping me secure more work. It’s good value for money. The overall performance is well above my expectations. They have good backup support and they have the added bonus of the AI as well.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

I don't believe I have any dislikes with buildxact.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster quoting

  ### 12. Streamlined Success: From Takeoff to Project Completion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stoyan P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

It combines takeoff, estimating and project management in one easy to use platform. Keeps everything organized in one place. Definitely decrease time and errors compare to other platforms I used.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Would be nice to see more supplier integrations for Canada.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Besides takeoffs, it is helping me clearly see where my projects are making or losing money. That insight allows me to adjust my estimating process for better accuracy on future jobs.

  ### 13. Buildxact is a great package for a small to medium sized Residential company.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** stuart s. | director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I like the fact that the software is evolving and that suggestions on how to improve the app are taken on board and incorporated into the system. The system is relatively easy to use and adaptable to your existing systems.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The subscription fee is a little high but thats all.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting most of the information in one place.

  ### 14. Buildxact is perfect for my small building company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

How organised it helps me stay with all the different leads and live projects. My clients like the client face portal to look at the site diary.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Im not using buildxact to its potential so its hard to be negative about it.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its currently providing AI to check over my estimates which sounds great

  ### 15. Great Software, Efficient and User friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

The possibility to get back to any quote I have sent for the past 4 years, the possibility to have my contractors rate saved up and no time wasted on formatting.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The main downside is the cost. It was quite competitive at first however now the cost kept on increasing.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildxact keeps records of all the previous job quoted, the rates of my contractors, the possibility to perform take off without having to use another software and invoicing is made easy especially on percentage invoice.

  ### 16. excellent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitch S. | Project manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

ease of access to job information, links with other programs

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

onsite app needs to have tasks list in the jobs section and document folders

getting better at on site platform

  ### 17. I've found Buildxact easy to use, clearly set out, and really helpful for keeping me organised.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Buildxact takes me from the quote stage wight through to the last invoice.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The only thing i kind of dislike about Buildxact is that it is always guessing what i want to type and sometimes it enters in by my mistake.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildxact is timesaving which is money saving and everything is all in the one program.

  ### 18. i love how intuitive the program has become

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

estimating ease
running a full project
team work together with my employees
speed
saving of material

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

too much saving
need more color and fun to gant

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ease and location of everything in one spot

  ### 19. Company thrives on Buildxact

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly B. | Administration Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Our Company has been using Buildxact for a couple of years. At first it was only used as a quoting program, with its advanced take off feature it made quoting more efficient. We are now utilising the job part more effectively with the amaizng help from all the buildxact staff, any questions or queries they are happy to help, with free sessions to ensure we are understanding the program. We are able to track all costs for all jobs and link our labours hours via deputy so nothing will get missed.
Another great feature is the site diary, this enables communication between all employees. This is done daily with the Buildxact Onsite App.
Buildxact has made day to day duties much easier, wouldn't know where we'd be without it.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

As the program continues to upgrade there can be a few hick ups, the app can have a few glitches but it's understandable.
Unfortunetly MYOB is not as intregrated as XERO.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost Tracking would be our number one benefit, followed by the estimating process. The take off tool real helps the estimaters get accurate measurements. And adding the costs to the job on each line item helps guide you on where you over or under estimated.

  ### 20. Buildxact Review - Renovare Franchisee

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kane B. | Director, Builder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Ease of use for estimating and qty calculation. I use it every single day for all my qty's. The client portal is good, but the time it' takes to get the client onboard can be a bit hard. The customer support is great. I've had a few glitch issues and they've been onto it within minutes or at the latest within the hour.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Project management transferance to trades and contractor down to a task level. Implementation with a full business scope is limited with the transference of billing, invoicing & time/cost tracking not seemless from an accounting forward or back process. The quote request function is a little difficult as some companies (especially larger suppliers) have security measures that prevent them from gaining access to the portal.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Estimating, cost tracking (limited - time consuming and cluncky), Purchase/Work orders, Invoicing. Keeps my project specific detail in one place for ease of access and management.

  ### 21. Efficient Construction Management Software with a User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Buildxact is an excellent solution for small and medium-sized construction enterprises. Its user-friendly design makes managing estimates, schedules, and budgets much easier. The software's ability to produce quick bids and manage project deadlines is a significant time saver. I found the interaction with accounting software such as Xero to be seamless, which aids in keeping funds organised.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

While it meets the majority of the requirements for minor construction projects, it has limits when dealing with larger, more complex projects. The reporting features could be more extensive, and I believe the mobile app experience should be enhanced for better on-site administration.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildxact addresses the difficulty of efficiently managing construction projects from inception to completion. By simplifying the estimating process, I can provide accurate bids faster, saving time and reducing errors. The project management and scheduling capabilities ensure that jobs are organised and deadlines are met, which increases overall efficiency. Additionally, the smooth interaction with accounting software allows for real-time tracking of expenditures and budgets, reducing financial disparities. Overall, it has proven an effective tool for streamlining project workflows and increasing productivity in construction management.

  ### 22. A great tool for your building business!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | Builder - Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Locating all of your quotes and costings in one place. Being able to quote using current pricing is great. Implementation of all of its features takes some time to get your head aropund but there is plenty of documentation and instructions to help you out. Xero integrates with Buildxact almost seamlessly, a bit tricky at the start.

Overall a great product that is improving all the time.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The price per month is pretty high. I would love an option to have a proper site diary set up that employees and subcon tractors can track the time spent oonsite and those times to be put towards a perticular project

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speediing up the quoting process and presenting a professional looking quote. Seemless transition form quoting to invoicing.

  ### 23. 6 Month In and we've noticed how much is missing

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Tracks costs and revenue on jobs.
Turn around time for helpdesk is quite fast.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The system is missing many basic features - you are unable to track which user has performed a task so anyone with access is able to make updates with no further trace. If you're running multiple companies you will need a different log in for each.

Once a purchase order is raised, if it was accidentally put to the wrong job it can't just be moved. It needs to be cancelled and reentered from scratch. Invoice dates and wording are hard coded, invoice presentation is not very professional and needs a redesign. If you have estimated something will cost you $1,000 but it only costs $800 there is no way to close that cost category and it impacts the WIP. Feature requests go unanswered for months and features are slow to be released. Overall, while it does a good job of tracking costs and revenue for jobs, it lacks in every other area. We are still having to manually invoice our clients through our accounting system, manually track and enter employee expense claims, manually record our WIP figures,

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track expenditure on jobs down to the cost category level.

  ### 24. Awesomely powerful estimating software package!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mick W. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

The receipe feature allows us to establish baseline costs to the business of a product (say m2 of concrete @ 150mm), then tweak margin separately, either directly to the item, section of the quote or overall project. Very flexible.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

I don't like that you can't do a curved lm (linear meter) takeoff. This has to be. done as a series of straight lines and can get crowded in the takeoff. Also, dont like that once you have send out an RFQ for an item it essentailly locks this item to further manipulation (e.g if you wanted to add install etc to a suppliers quote).

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

complete quoting package.

  ### 25. Just a bloody great and powerful resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen K. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Integration with other software is awesome The ability to have access to suppliers catelogues with prices being constantly reviewed and updated right there on the app. Means I'm not caught out in if prices rise during estimating.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The bulk of the work is needed at the start to input all of the data and recipes to be used while estimating. But once it's all inputted it is a phenomenal tool.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contrustion Estimating:

The simple drag and drop features when it comes to scaling up plans and then just drawing/tracing over the top of them with the relevant input/recipe selected is phenomenal. No longer do I have to sit there with the rule over the printed out plans trying to figure out the scaled equivalent of the materials I need. It does it all for me. It's saved me probably about 10 hours worth of work right there.

Take offs:
Based off your estimates and your recipes that you've already in putted, the take off sheet is done automatically there and then. It's crazy how power that function is. I literally just selected a different tab in the project file and it's all there ready for me to send off to my suppliers. Honestly, I'm bloody smiling while I'm writing this because of how mind-blowing that feature is and just how much time it's saved me in the long run. SOOOOOOOOO much time is saved. It's insane.

Construction Project Management:
Love how I can just toggle on a schedule button in the estimate and it automatically gives me a detailed Gantt chart schedule for me to see what is need and when. The ability to set and send reminders to both myself, my site supervisor and my suppliers means that everyone know where and when they need to have materials to site and when they're getting installed and by whom. Very, very, VERY, impressive tool that has really made us look like Rockstars

Jobsite Management:
The ability for the lads onsite to have an app on there phone to take photos and give us updates on the jobs progress, which means we know where the job is up to and can compare that against where we should be in relation to our predicted schedule. The foreman and site supervisors can see it too so they're able to tell whether they're ahead, on, or behind schedule and can adjust their priority task list accordingly.

Additionally, the boys onsite can upload photos of any hazards identified on site and everyone logged into that job, from site supervisor to site labouror, can see it and address it instantly. It's actually made our sites a safer place too with hazard identification happening and being shared across the whole site instantly has meant we're retifiying hazards in a timely manner too. It's been great.

  ### 26. Buildxact is great at most things, however there is a few things i find annoying

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

all in one platform with most of the features required
easy to learn without any training, but training is provided free if required
AI chat is helpful if i need to know how to do something most of the time, and if AI cant help, a real person usauly replies pretty quick withing trading hours

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Im going to be a bit critical with some nit picking things becasue i want to still use build xact and want to help make it better
- Price compared to similar products, the monthly cost makes it tempting to try and learn how to use another program
- iphone app is useless, to begin with it barely had anything to do with the website, and using website on any device other than computer is difficult. iPad app would be great
- Awkward workflow restrictions, for example, once a job has been accepted, theres no easy way to do a take off/measurement without either reverting to draft, same with adjusting category allowances, on some occasions ive wanted to move extra money from one category to another to even it all up and not show negative, but it almost feels like its punishing me for getting the estimate wrong.
- sometimes slow, if you start clicking subcategory items to fast, it will say slow down, however when you are in edit mode its fine, not sure why theres a speed limitation if i dont click edit first
- new lead/estimate data entry is a little bit clunky, 1. requires client phone number and email when sometimes i might not have that information on hand, not sure why its a requirements to proceed 2. have to input client information in lean and in estimate, i understand sometimes these two could be differnet, but most of the time they are the same, at least give option to choose " same as before"
- workflow could be improved, Some form of visual Kanban style
- job scheduling is still difficult to play around with, doesnt play nice with all browsers. Also option to share job schedule on client portal would be good
- Client portal needs more interactive features, request for information, Option selection polls, easy upload of pc selections etc, Some communication can be done here, but its not worth doing any of it if you cant do it all.
- Only has option to calculate project markup, not Margin, i know it can be easy to calculate a 20% margin is roughly 25% markup, This is something new builders may not know the difference and could be loosing out.
- "Apply to all" function on category options

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Take off and estimating

  ### 27. Great Estimating Software!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

What I like best about Buildxact is how it simplifies the entire workflow for our construction projects. I like how user-friendly it is. Even if you're not super tech-savvy, you'll find it pretty easy to navigate. It's nice to use it for estimating, and once a job is in progress, it is simple to manage purchase orders, variations and outgoing invoices. It makes it so much easier to keep track of everything and stay organized. Plus the customer support is also great.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

I think one thing that could be improved is the real-time syncing. When several team members are working on the same job, editing costs/quantities. If one person saves their work, it doesn't automatically update for the other person and they have to refresh their page before making any edits, or they risk losing their changes. I like how they inform when other team member made changes, but I feel like it can cause some mix-ups if we aren't careful. Real-time syncing would greatly improve our workflow efficiency.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Estimating Tenders, Managing Purchase Orders, Handling Variations.

  ### 28. Its like having a virtual office assistant

**Reviewed by:** John K. | Builder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Quoting and take offs are easy, even changing a quote when a client decides to add or change an item. Easy in just a couple of clicks. Inputing actual costings against quoted items is quick an easy to help track financials against our jobs.
Easy to check jobs costings and quotes while on site, variations can be done while in front of the client and sent straight away saving time and any confusion.
Loads of features which are all very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Havent really found any downsides, we have been using the system for about 2 years now and couldnt run without it now.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of job costings and schedules

  ### 29. Best tool for contractors

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

What I like about Buildexact is the ease of creating an estimate. Easy uploading of plans and ease in executing the various takeoffs. I like the different choices for including your markup. The customer don't have to see your markup if you don't want them to. There's so many good aspects in using Buildexact just do a trial offer and you will see for yourself.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

I really don't see any down side, except taking the time to learn how to use the program.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solving using multiple programs to complete a professional estimate.

  ### 30. Excellent Estimating Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

The ability to manage projects from estimating to contracts and invoices all in the one place. Creating a database of items and recipes as well as the number of business' that will import their own pricing to create accurate price lists.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Small issues that typically arise with more complex measures. A common problem I'm having at the moment is not being able to measure off the previously scaled plans inside of a recipe. Typically every issue that arises is patched or addresssed very quickly.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildxact has made our quotes and tender submissions look much more proffessional, and allowed us to track projects from estimating through to contracts admin. This has streamilined the procurement process and allowed us to further assist our PM's and Site Managers.

  ### 31. Easy to use once set up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon L. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

Once you have set up all your templates it is so much easier and quicker to use for quoting. Yes setting up the templates takes time but it is well worth it in the end.
If you get stuck on something the customer service team can help you out via their chat system .

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The cost to upgrade for more users is rather expensive.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once set up Buildxact saves a lot of time in quoting and you are less likely to miss something of from the quote

  ### 32. Better invoicing and job costing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick F. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Buildxact?**

I like how it allows for detailed backend estimating and easily customize invoices/estimates to show as much or little as detail as needed. This detail on the backend allows for more accurate estimating and job costing.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Main downsides of buildxact is the platform is basically limited to desktop only. There is not really an app that allows you to operate this program.

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More accurate and detailed estimating that can easily be sent off as a quote with custom levels of visibility of the cost of the job. I really love this feature because it saves me from going back thru multiple spreadsheets and converting it manually into an estimate/invoice in a separate software.

Having a template that holds all my master costings, specifications and misses nothing i need to inform the client.

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

Client portal i have found not easy to use

**What problems is Buildxact solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Avoiding using excel and missing things to calculate. Having to calculate in excel and then use another app to send proposal and another app for signing. Now it is much more professional, fast, and accurate.

Very easy to pick up and start straight away with the online tutorials you can learn as you go through.
The click and count take offs make it really easy and quick

**What do you dislike about Buildxact?**

The transfer of take offs or cost centres from project to project requires some work to enable similar projects to be copied without having to create a template

Take off and quantiy take offs are much quicker
