## Boomi Reviews
  ### 1. The simplest way of integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SHANKAR Y. | Software Engineer, Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The best and perfect ui and better explanation of each component I have completed first level certificate only by reading reference guide and few exercises.......:)

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

I have achieved every which was possible using only one thing that I was unhappy that when I split document based on element of profile it should provide functionality to map split document to profile so that in next profile we can easily work on it.......

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

following ....

1) third party payroll integration......

2) hell lot of reporting through Booomi

3) Attendance integration.....

4) many more............

  ### 2. Worked as a B2B Integration Specialist on the Boomi and Boomi Atomsphere platform for past six years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wayne C. | EDI Developer/Analyst, Logistics and Supply Chain, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Flexibility and versatility of integration options.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Licensing of the product by Trading Partners and connections is limiting and can be expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Good B2B/EDI solution for a small to mid-size company with integration needs.
The licensing of the product does not lend itself to a large number of trading partner and connection needs.
Would be a much more scalable product if was licensed by adapter type and perhaps a sliding scale of trading partners deployed, instead of by every trading partner and connection.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

B2B/EDI/XML/CSV/MSSQL and cloud integrations over SFTP, FTP, AS2 communications.

  ### 3. A great iPaaS with enormous potential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik I. | Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

There are many good things about Dell Boomi that I have come to like and use in everyday work, the overall capabilities together with continuous improvements from the R&D team creates a product that you feel is not satisfying itself with its current status but always trying to adhere to customer needs and suggestion. To mention a few of the parts I like the most I would point out the following:

Environment management between Test and Production, or whatever other steps in between, is made very easy through Boomi and this makes the overall development and maintenance a pure delight once you have this setup to cover your needs.

The Scripting functionalities, both inside a process and inside a Map function, give you a very extensive set of new ways to solve a complex business case for a Customer. Covering both JavaScript and Groovy this is a very powerful addition which makes the development easy even in tough use cases.
API management and the overall capabilities for creating and maintaining Web Services, it is very easy to setup and utilize as part of your integration.

Last but not least, Boomi is doing more and more updates to increase the usability and the user experience which I find very interesting and good. There is almost always some improvements regarding UI etc. in new releases and they manage to do this without making it difficult for us, the users, to keep up and adapting to the new look and feel.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

There are small areas where I really hope that they make some improvements:

When it comes to custom scripting utilizing JavaScript or Groovy it would be very good to have syntax highlighting or similar regular features to simplify the development and minimize the risk of syntax issues.

The very good SOAP Connector, which is used for all connections using the SOAP framework, does not support NTLM/Kerberos authentication, which leaves you with the only option (if your use case cannot use oData) to develop a branded connector.

Overall the documentation is ok, and their new Community is very good, but I would like some more concrete examples in their regular documentation. Very often I read documentation about a Connector or some other shape and the bare minimal is available; sometimes a checkbox is explained by re-typing its label, which is quite annoying if you are looking for a deeper explanation of the impact of actually checking this checkbox.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Read up on licensing and how you best maintain and handle your connections in regard to the contract that you sign with Boomi. This is not a cheap product but well worth it if implemented and maintained in the correct and suggested way.

Take time to analyze and plan your integration before starting the development, know what you should do and have a clear idea of how you will do it before is very good to not get lost with the many ways that a process can be developed to meet a certain business case. From my experience with Boomi it is not so much the question “Can this be done?” that is the important one, but rather “How can we best do this?”.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration to multiple systems including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics Navision and third party vendors.

Developing and maintaining API and web services is a key aspect that is necessary for our implementation, this together with integration towards Salesforce for not only custom built web services but also standard operations such as Querying, Insert/Upsert/Update/Merge/Delete is vital for the success to be achieved.

Ability to streamline the integration and having a cloud based solution

  ### 4. Best integration product I have worked with in the market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** vidhya k. | Assistant System Engineer Trainee, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The flexibility that the application provides in integration is not seen in other tools in the market
The clear knowledge base documentation - help.boomi.com
We dont really need to know any computing knowledge to get started with the integration

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

There are still few limitations in the product
No clear knowledge base for learning groovy

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Great product for the integration.
Best product in the market so far.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) Working from Operations Team for SAP
2) I'm doing an integration for reporting purpose within the organization using Boomi as thw middleware

  ### 5. Simple, fast and powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zhen Yueh L. | Integration Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The simple and easy to use UI really helps to speed up the development

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Memory hunger UI when there are a lot of components or complex xml profile to be loaded.

It does not allow us to upload custom library when using cloud atom.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of our customer has a very tight dateline yet complicated projects. And, Boomi comes in handy because it allows us to achieve the goals. It has shorten the development time greatly compares to the legacy tools (not to mention the name here :D).

  ### 6. I've found it easy to use and intuitive, real time saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason B. | Sr. Systems Integrator (Consultant), Machinery, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

It's really easy to develop complex integration processes with visual tools. The GUI really helps make sense of complex jobs.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Performance problems and debugging can be more difficult due to abstraction from the lower layers...

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Too many to list, we've done dozens of integrations between many different systems.

  ### 7. Boomi solutions for systems and b2b i

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Warehousing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Boomi simplifies integration from coding and makes complex integrations sound simple

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Boomi help in debugging needs some improvement. Some messages can really be non-descriptive !!!
Documentation from Boomi for customer files can be really difficult especially if the integration exists and you are forced to create documentation for example for a 50 column file which needs to be documented. You actually need to open the field and gets it characteristics field by field

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Any integration product is as good as its foundation and the team responsible. Any product may be made to look bad based on the user. But other than its debugging headaches Boomi is a class product which removes the headache of coding and managing interfaces.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer integrations - Simplified

  ### 8. Good Product, with stable updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

1. Good UI features,
2. The updates are mostly stable(as per my experience for past 1 year).

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

1. Some features of configuration can be optimized, i.e. the credentials from the environment can be sourced on connectors while executing in Test mode.)

Although the support is active in community blog, would suggest to produce more documentation on EDI development

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Integration with various application
2. Data sync.
3. EDI communication

  ### 9. Solid Integration Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The scheduling and consistency of the tool is great. The UI to create integrations is pretty good, once you learn how to use it. Boomi is better than most integration tools that I have worked with.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

There are some additional features that I would like to see (per process alert subscriptions). The pricing model does not fit well with small to medium size businesses that need to create a lot of small integrations between many systems. The pricing makes the most sense, when you need to create a lot of integrations between a small number of systems (pricing is per connection).

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Dell Boomi to integrate Salesforce with application databases.

  ### 10. Best Cloud Integration Tool - Dell Boomi

I have several ETL tools but what i like in boomi is its easy learning curve, ease of use with simple UI. Yet it provide wise variety of features. Also has nice documentation, good support.

Boomi has many nice features including the ability to autogenerate a "profile" (Xml, JSON, Database) for requests/responses and the ability to use the mapping to transform these documents between systems/workflows.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

It would be nice if it were easier to see a "fiddler" style call of the raw HTTP Requests/Responses that go over the wire from a debugging standpoint.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with typical uses cases for integrating one or multiple systems.

  ### 13. Boomi as a Mapping Tool for Benefit Files

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The large variety of prebuilt connectors was an immediate win for us. The ability to connect directly to our many cloud applications was a huge factor in our final decision to go with Boomi

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

We are a heavy user, and memory issues cause issues especially at the beginning of the month. Also, some of the connectors end up working a little differently than others in terms of documents (Database vs Salesforce, for example)

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our largest issue is integrating disparate cloud-based systems with on-premise (AWS) systems. Specifically Salesforce, Zuora, Intacct, MySql, etc. The out-of-the-box compatibility with all of those was huge for us.

  ### 16. Decent experience working with Boomi

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit G. | Principal Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Simple UI, Easy development, Nice support, Quick updates to the tool, version control..

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

There are some improvement areas like better support for custom scripting. Documentation is nice theoretically but better to have more examples.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly used for integrating salesforce with other source systems like database or any homegrown systems through web services.

  ### 17. Nice interface and easy to use, good middle ware

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Best is the kind of flow diagram in user interface that makes in easy to use

easy Connection with success factor

Data Integration tasks, Easy to use.

  ### 19. Could be so much better

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

SOCL queries returned as XML makes it fairly plug and play and easier to work with.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Finding a changed component, when the project is very complex is virtually impossible.
Storing returned data 'in memory' is way more complex than it should be.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Linking silo-ed applications.

ETL between disparate systems is useful.

Hosting Atoms on own infrastructure appears to be bad, very flaky, writing GBs of log files even when all endpoints are set to low latency.

Overall quite frustrating.

  ### 20. Good Experience using Dell Boomi

  ### 31. Heading in the right direction

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer E. | IT & Systems Manager, Staffing and Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2015

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Capable of complex data transformations and is capable of a wide berth of use cases. Support can be very helpful and responsive. There have been several instances where we've had mission critical breakdowns and support has been awesome in putting in the hours until we got it figured out.
Their Revision History is great, especially when you're first learning the platform or want extreme version control. There's a lot of little places where you can do some major damage and having great version control mitigates development time. It's not listed as a connector, but it will work with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 2015 and eConnect 2014 which was nice (they do need to update the documentation for this connection though).
We had a mission critical integration that used a scripting component to sort data that would break every time there was a major update. Eventually, Boomi gave us a resource to help re-engineer the process so that it worked more in line with their development road map. This went a long way in fostering good will.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Sometimes seemingly simple needs turn out to be very complex problems, eg sorting line item detail records on the header master record. Editing and creating custom XML profiles can be tricky, fortunately the Revision History component is fantastic. Connector management could be better, the same connector with a different ID won't deploy if you're at your cap, a problem which happens more often than you would imagine due to the strange and dangerous ways you copy processes and components. Getting at the root cause of an issue is often like peeling an onion.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Consider it carefully. If you're a small shop it can easily become your biggest administrative burden, but it can save your organization time with it's enterprise connections.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary intent of getting on the Boomi platform was to create a bi-directional sync between our Salesforce org and our instance of Great Plains which runs on a dedicated hosted server. With the some of the automation we've been able to realize using Boomi and various other applications has been profound, but when platform stability threatens that it can be harmful to our organization.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The ease of use and simplicity to do integration.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

We use wide range of apps in our company, so integration between a lot of systems would be tedious if we set up each and everyone of them.

Integrations between our existing landscape.

  ### 39. Implemented Dell Boomi for Salesforce, Intacct/NetSuite, AtTask, and internal tools integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake J. D. | Director of Finance, Revenue Operations, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

It solved all of our problems and also gave us ability to do more, where we didn't previously have the capabilities to do so.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

There was a shaky relationship at the beginning where we were undersold. Though, Dell's services team was able to rectify the situation.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Make sure they fully understanding the business problems you are trying to solve. Even possibly have their solution architect come on-site prior to purchasing/committing to a set number of connectors.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was the only product that solved all of our business case needs. We were replacing an internal tool that we used in conjunction with order processing. We needed a systematic approach to push data to hundreds of fields (and manipulate them int the process) when processing our customer's orders. We were able to solve this with little technical help. Along with that, we were also able to implement some new processes that we didn't realize previously that were possible. It works smooth, and much better than the internal tool we were using.

  ### 40. Great visual Integration platform but lack of documentation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francois G. | Sr. Manager, Business System Development, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Easy to troubleshoot where there is an issue. You can simply examine elements 1 by 1 and see where the problem happened. You can then examine the data that went in that element and also what was returned. I also like the fact that you can access logs and states of all the elements of the integration from the log history. You can by example see what data was processed x days ago.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

The documentation is very basic and not very well organized. I understand the platform is still young but sometime it is very hard to find answers and examples that can help solve an issue.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to be able to create/maintain Integration job between different system easily and not necessarily use a professional DBA to do so. This goal was achieved. I would like to mention that I received an outstanding good service by Anton Damiani. He was our trainer and we also bought some consulting service from Boomi with him as resource. He definitely go above and beyond to give help when needed.

  ### 41. Awesome Integration Tool

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Ease of use, online help, web interface, large number of ready connectors

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Sometimes the UI will become very slow and unresponsive

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Quickly learn the key abstractions, such as parameters, the documents, etc.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration betrween heterogenous systems

  ### 42. The Dell Boomi Atomsphere IPaaS is an intuitive and enjoyable platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The tool is very straight forward to use. Also, if you cannot figure something out the various help sections can get you where you need to be quick and clearly.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

I wouldn't really say that I have a dislike about the platform itself. Sometimes testing through the clouds can be a bit lagged. I do not believe this is the platforms problem but sometimes connectivity issues with Axway sites.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has solved several problems for me. The most note-able is the amount of time it previously took to set up new integration's with clients. In using Boomi there is also more insight to logs and obtaining both the inbound and outbound files for validation and troubleshooting.

  ### 43. Best IPAAS product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Easy of use, great reporting, Boomi suggest feature

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Not much to dislike. Their support turnaround time in the past was not so great but they have improved recently.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EDI, Salesforce integration. EDI development time is now measure in minutes versus weeks.

  ### 44. Boomi Training is amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

The training for Dell Boomi was some of the best I've EVER seen.
The fact that you had 2 instructors - one for the course, and one as technical support - was so helpful and absolutely necessary. We had quite a few people in the online course and at any given time a couple of them needed help - having someone dedicated meant this didn't slow the class down.
It was an impressive feat in any case, being able to do an online ETL course and have the great majority of us NOT have technical glitches.
The exercises and overall story were beyond excellent. I especially love that there were little mistakes baked in that we had to troubleshoot - so much more true to life than most training.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

I'm afraid I've not yet used it much at clients. I think the price scares some off.
SAP connect is very expensive, especially.
I found admin troubleshooting a bit difficult. Perhaps some more help/training or just more intuitive places to go would help that area.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Definitely go to training!

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, I've not been on the teams using the product.
I was on a sales call where we were attempting to use Boomi to pull data into Host. They were considering the SAP connector, but it is far too expensive. Also, they had several multidimensional sources to connect to and that was not possible with Boomi.

  ### 45. 3rd Party Partner that proved invaluable EDI and integration resources.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert H.

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

Attractive GUI interface. Multi-Channel independent processing using Atoms. Completely customizable using javascirpt and groovy.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

Product Support somewhat weak. This may have improved with the acquisition by Dell.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Highly recommended due to ease of use and relatively simple implementation.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Replaced internal EDI solution eliminating single channel challenges. Successful mapping and integration with Quickbooks.

  ### 46. The reasons I think your product needs improvement...

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2014

**What do you like best about Boomi?**

I enjoy the ability to work using a browser. The general process flow is good. The learning curve is fairly low was well.

**What do you dislike about Boomi?**

The support is very poor. The knowledge base is very poor as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Boomi:**

Really use the product on a trial basis for something you are needing to accomplish. Hire a good consultant and document everything. Then you might have a chance on making it work for you.

**What problems is Boomi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to do simple process is easy to do. However, the product is very arcane in the fact that it requires you to do things in the process flow without many options to change and customize.

**Official Response from Ralph Hibbs:**

> Dear Reviewer,

We noticed you reviewed Dell Boomi about 2.5 years ago on G2Crowd, and you were critical of our customer support and knowledge base.

Since then we have made significant investments in expanding our customer support and launching community.boomi.com to enable collaboration and knowledge sharing among users.

We are curious if your opinion of Dell Boomi has changed since your review. If it hasn’t is there anything we can do to improve your experience?
