For the cost, it was easy for us to go into another direction. ### 4. It is used by well-reputed companies around the world. It is very user-friendly and attached with Solidworks and also rhino software. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** I can dislike this because it's expensive for students, and i face little bit of bugs a in it and the customer care service is slow and its not available on cloud working **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** BobCAD-CAM offers more functionality than ever. The main focus is usability and more toolpath power, and its helps in waterjet, miller, power tooling turner and in more programs ### 5. I use BobCAD v33 for Plasma, Vibratory Engraving, 3 Axis Routing, 4 Axis Routing, and Laser. I do very complex projects, and I have been able to complete them all using BobCAD. What I have found during my career is that you will select a software package, take the time to learn it, then at some point you find the limits of that software package. Now you have to choose a new software package and start again. I have never had that with BobCAD. It is a powerful product that does not disappoint. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** To date, I have not found anything I do not like. Any issue I have found is usually due to my error. The top-notch tech support always shows me what was wrong and how to fix it. **Recommendations to others considering BobCAD-CAM:** Do not choose a CAD-CAM system based on price. Choose based on features it always cost more if you don't. **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been using CAD since 1985. I am a foreman, and programmer, in a small shop, and before bobcad we did not have any sort of CAD/CAM system. Also, we had minimal experience with CNC when I first started. I was able to learn Bobcad exceptionally quickly and explain it to others. It is very user-friendly. The customer service is fantastic too. They have tons of resources via youtube, Facebook, and their website for tech Tuesdays. I love telling other shops about bobcad and how beneficial it was for us. A genuine small shop can not spend over $20,000 for a program. This is a program that just about anyone can figure out, without taking months worth of classes. We've been using bobcad for over 6 years now and look forward to where they are headed. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** Just like with any other CAD/CAM there are some glitchy moments. But as long as you frequently save, as you should, it isn't a huge problem. **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** We went from doing everything manually to 90% CNC. We've been able to take more advanced parts and a higher quantity. ### 7. I've been using BobCAD-CAM for over 10 years. I've machined parts for many industries - Ranging from custom motorcycles, cars, firearms, D.O.D. , aerospace, and oil & gas. I like how it allows me to take control of my tool paths without holding me back. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** The learning curve when converting from another software can be a bit steep. I highly suggest taking their training classes or watching their instructional videos. I've done both. This will help you learn how to navigate the software quicker. **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Circa 2009-2010, my company was feeling the effects of a hurting economy. We were looking to cut costs in every way possible to keep us afloat. We made the switch to BobCAD-CAM so that we wouldn't need to continue paying the fees to keep our "more expensive" software going. Haven't looked back since. ### 8. The BobCad afterdark page is also an excellent resource. I have also used fusion 360 and dabbled in mastercam. Plotting points and lines is straightforward and extruding into solids is very easy. Coming or going from any software can be cumbersome and take patience. We have not had a part come through our shop that we have not been able to quote and machine. Our shop does everything from 2-5 axis, including millturn and we couldn't be happier with the software. We are on the advantage plan, so we do get the new version every year. I've found by putting in feature requests, the company listens and I have even seen a few from our shop in the next version. I would highly recommend this product to any company looking for CADCAM software. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** Currently I do not have any dislikes with the current version. In the previous versions there were some quirks in which the company addressed. **Recommendations to others considering BobCAD-CAM:** If you are looking for a powerful and affordable CADCAM software this is what you need. **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems within our shop have been getting into multi axis machining, with help from BobCad that has been solved and we are programming new and more complex parts everyday. ### 9. The guys there are helpful and are sure that any issues that you have are resolved before you get off the phone. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** Trying to draw anything in 2D or a 3D model is the worst. If you have ever used AutoCad, Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidWorks, Vectric, or anything else, you will be disappointed. DON’T WAST YOUR MONEY! This software makes you go around the world trying to do anything that other software can do in just a couple of clicks. If you can get the part drawn, it will give you G-code, but the trade-off with cost and functionality are not worth it. **Recommendations to others considering BobCAD-CAM:** STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFWARE!! **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** It produces G-code for my Shapoko CNC router. ### 11. We were having trouble trouble cutting out logos. Stl etc. No issues on importing files from autocad for example. Allows manual calibrating and adjustments for complicated cuts. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** Not too excited about the price. There are similiar programs for a better price. **Recommendations to others considering BobCAD-CAM:** Its legit software, keep an eye out for deals and reductions in the price and it will be well worth the investment. **What problems is BobCAD-CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used to cut with free programs but this software allows much more options for customized cutting. Aluminium turbine veins are a breeze to cut on 3 axis. ### 13. Good phone support. **What do you dislike about BobCAD-CAM?** Lacking in many modern features, post processors, limited tool paths in all versions, Limited toolpath control requires hand coding more than would be acceptable **Recommendations to others considering BobCAD-CAM:** Bob CAD/CAM is best suited to wood milling and mach type router tables.
