&lt;p&gt;Oh for no-code custom databases a small team can shape themselves, Ninox is a standout,  and people build their own tables, fields and workflows without a developer, and it&#39;s affordable. Kintone  is the other strong one, a no-code database plus workflow builder aimed at teams, so business folks set up processes without IT. Microsoft Access is the classic and very capable, but honestly it&#39;s more technical and dated feeling, and it&#39;s Windows-bound, so I&#39;d only go there if your team already knows it. For customize-it-yourself without external cost, I&#39;d trial Ninox and Kintone first. How complex are the workflows, simple record-keeping or multi-step approvals?&lt;/p&gt;
