**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

with Blue Iris, we cloud view live video feeds, record and playback video footage, and receive alerts when motion or sound is detected. The software also includes advanced features such as motion detection, facial recognition, and license plate recognition.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

I noticed  that Blue Iris requires a powerful computer with a dedicated graphics card to operate smoothly. It might feel complex and costly to some people would recommend a user-friendly approach in terms of requirement

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blue Iris allows monitoring and recording of video footage from security cameras, providing a way to keep property and belongings safe. It also allows access to remote control of security cameras and automates specific tasks, such as recording footage when detecting motion or sound.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Ease of installation and  configuration.  Great added on for face recognition.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

Not much,  Could have more camera drivers for different models

Replaced hardare NVRs that are limited on config and screen setup.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Simple web interface for remote access via PC  web browser and Android app

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

Having to pay for the upgrades.  I believe in paying once for a product and not the total purchase price again and again.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The automatic erasure of old images is not working, and they have no solution for me to try.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Mobile friendly. Captures video in easy to organize tiles. Tiles can be played back just like any other audio/movie file. Captures video, audio, and gives ability to monitor all cameras/video in one place. The alert feature is really helpful too.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

UI is a little old/outdated looking but it is very functional. In a lot of ways that is way more important. Little bit of a learning curve to get started and would have liked a little more guidance but I figured it out and its been great ever since.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rental property needed surveillance. The camera gives us better protection against any property damage, insurance claims, and keeping our property safe when we are out of town.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Inexpensive software that is Easy to set up. It Runs on a regular computer (PC), so dedicated hardware is not needed. Also, because it is Compatible with most of the cameras out there, you aren't cornered by a particular brand

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

A little bit of a learning curve is needed to understand how to get your cameras up and to run. Also even though it is great for small to medium set ups it would not work well for large installations.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blue Iris is solving our survailence needs without costing an arm and a leg. We could use some of our existing cameras, as well as be able to pick up cost-efficient hardware when needed

Blue Iris is able to integrate almost any surveillance camera in its software. It also has lots of capabilities to save storage space (motion detect), but also great AI tools to recognize license plates, objects,...

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

The software is a little bit resource intensive (CPU, RAM)

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a mix of different camera's (Axis, Vivotek, Hikvision). Lots of solutions are delivered by the vendor itself as NVR, and other surveillance software is quite expensive. Blue Iris solves these two problems

Low cost, ease of access, intuitive. Easy to export, share, view.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

It's not as pretty as it could be which can slow adoption. Not a huge deal for us as not a ton of people access it.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to log in and see all cameras across sites. Checking back on incident reports to resolve potential issues at different sites.

I can open to app on my phone wherever I am. I can see real- time video of the outside of our home and review past activity too.

Sometimes the cameras go out but it is not a blue iris issue.

None that I am aware of.

Very intuitive and easy to operate. I like the fact you can set up accounts with different access rules.

Crashes sometimes. I sometimes have problems syncing other tools to the sofware.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Very comprehensive and easy-to-use software. Easy to set up with any cameras that we used.  Very powerful software with ability to see all your cameras from any remote connection

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

not any real dislikes with the software. It was a little difficult to figure out how to set up overwrites.  Searching footage was a little clunky
the search functionality should be updated

**Recommendations to others considering Blue Iris:**

this is a good piece of software to start with

we did not have any cameras inside or outside our shop.  We were able to run 16 cameras on this software with very few instances of issues.
we were able to utilize all our cameras and review footage if necessary

I like the ability to see live grid views with motion highlighted by red box.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

The setup was a little advanced and required help from IT.

Blue Iris allows us to access our security camera feeds from anywhere. We are never unprepared or left wondering why an alarm or motion sensor was set off because we can access video feeds from my phone anywhere.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Performs well on all tested hardware. Does not create a heavy burden on machines its running on, which is ideal for small (under 5 camera) locations running Blue Iris in the background on a workstation.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

More flexibility in display pages would be nice, giving the ability to customize the order and look of the camera displays.


**Recommendations to others considering Blue Iris:**

Even if you decide that you will outgrow the product, hard to beat at the price point!

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for small locations (under 40 cameras) that need solid surveillance system. Especially good when transitioning from analog to IP cameras as it can support a wide variety of hardware side by side.

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

Simple to setup and use on multiple cameras. The system doubles as a security system by sending images right to my phone when "alarms" are triggered. I set the time of day to alarm, and can choose from sound, motion, and many other alarm triggers.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

I wish it was cloud based. It needs to be run on a physical machine.

**Recommendations to others considering Blue Iris:**

Confirm what you need from a DVR solution, then compare platforms. Make sure whatever software you are considering that it is compatible with your hardware and operating system.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to setup cameras at different job sites to monitor progress and act as a security guard. I also use it as a baby monitor at home.

The ability to view multiple cameras at the same time. The clarity is great. And the setup is easy.

Server setup is tacking. Easy on some PC’s others very difficult.

Ability to view cameras across the country and the assurance the product does in fact work well

**What do you like best about Blue Iris?**

This is the best NVR software I have ever used.  It is compatible with any RTSP enabled camera and can even support Nest cameras.  It does a fantastic job with motion detection and smart home integration with MQTT.  Paired with TensorFlow and you have the smartest security system money can buy.

**What do you dislike about Blue Iris?**

There are so many options it can be very confusing to use if you don't know what you are doing.

**What problems is Blue Iris solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to have a centralized recording software that integrates and reports as expected.
