It is fairly easy to configure and configurations around SSO (Single Sign-on) are straightforward. You can also embed different parts of the community into your website. We also love the customization aspect and the ability to pick and choose different apps. **What do you dislike about Bettermode?** They need to work more on the SEO configurations. There should be an option to add some domains into the whitelist so regular/do-follow links can be created directly from the community. **What problems is Bettermode solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a really small team to manage the customer community. We wanted to create a social place so our customers can congregate in one online platform. A place where they can voice their opinions and learn from each other. So far, we have been able to do that successfully and we see Tribe as a powerful platform for customer success. ### 2. When I found tribe I was very pleased when I saw that they had a free plan because it meant that it wouldn’t cost me anything and I was making my tribe for our family to connect over lockdown (as younger children wouldn’t have been allowed facebook or Instagram) so I looked for a safer alternative where I could add everyone and only them meaning the children wouldn’t be getting followed by strangers. Since then I have recommended Tribe to one of my friends who owns a school and they have implemented it for there students to stay in touch and also we have made one for students and staff to keep in touch in my own boarding house. For anyone who owns a business is part of a large family or would even like to start a random community with people they don’t know, i completely recommend Tribe as it is very easy to get started and their team is always happy to help. **What do you dislike about Bettermode?** If they had to improve something it would be really nice if they had a mobile app although you can add it to your home screen on apple devices. It was really easy to set up and great quality considering there’s no payment needed! I understand there are more features with the paid version, which as my platform grows I’ll be very interested to check them out. So far our experience has been great and Tribe suits our needs perfectly. **What do you dislike about Bettermode?** There are a couple of tweaks that would make the experience better but they're very minor. Things like, when inviting members, being able to save your invite message so it's there the next time, or letting you know when you've already invited a user. **What problems is Bettermode solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm using it as an alternative to a facebook group, essentially. It's a space for my customers to interact and discuss their products every month. My customer base is quite political and many have objections to Facebook and Amazon (who own Goodreads which would have been our other option) so Tribe provides a space that's not tainted with all of these ethical problems. ### 21. It creates a modern approach to community discussion which my team loves. The forum tool, for so long experienced little growth; the static nature of forums has made teams and communities switch to platforms like Discord or Slack, which possess disadvantages including inconvenient threading, the inability for messages to be indexed and horrible user profiles. Tribe is one of the few platforms that has created a home page for forum communities that people want to use. The home page is dynamic with gamification elements, channels take the place of boards in forums while maintaining the same functionality, and it means that Tribe feels like a community chat platform with the functionality of a forum, but the UX of a beautifully crafted Slack or Discord competitor - which it will be. **What do you dislike about Bettermode?** As a proponent for open-source software and development, I am disappointed that Tribe is not open-source because I feel that so many people that use Tribe for their communities would have so much to give and offer Tribe through developing, however, this is something that doesn't really matter and regardless the project is going to go in the right directions, as seen by the recent update history. Richer user profiles with galleries (like in Buddypress) are something I missed after using Buddypress, and for someone who moderates/maintains a community that shares a lot of files a dedicated file space attributed to users and groups would be excellent. Deep linking with tools like Github & Gitlab for issues and discussions would be good; a lot of developers discuss their software on platforms like Tribe and this is something that I feel is quite important. The pricing plans are relatively expensive but if you can afford it, it's worth it. **What problems is Bettermode solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm finding that my community is enjoying using the forums more and we've seen a dramatic increase in posts after switching to platforms like Tribe - we're still trialling multiple platforms (Buddypress, Discourse, Gitter, etc) but the community does love tribe! ### 23.
