The pricing is very competitive. **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** After purchasing licensing for one module or another, you cannot automatically obtain a trial for other items. EG: If you have a workstation or VM backup license and want to try out the O365 backup, you will need to buy a license (or possibly request a trial license manually). Linux support is still a hit or miss (mostly a miss), when there is a new update (resulting in a broken backup server). **Recommendations to others considering BDRShield:** Please consider using Windows for the on-prem BDR as the Linux version still has some backend issues that will pop up more frequently than the Windows version. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** With every Linux on-prem BDR server update released there appears to be a number of issues that require a reinstall. Further there have been unresolved memory leaks for the Linux on-prem server that are not resolved. Stick to the Windows on-prem BDR. ### 2. The team did a great job of walking us through the prodcut set. **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** So far their are not many downsides, however only during the trial of the product did we realise that we needed a fully licnesed (Standard) VM evnrionmet for the product to work. It will not work with any free licnese of VM ware as it requires access to the API (not sure if its avaialbe for the essentials). If any suggestions are taken I would recommended stating that some where on the website. But other than that its great company to work with. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to find a solution that was cost effective to satify one of or clients business continuity requirements and BDR Suite had the feature set that we needed. We usually get immediate reply from the support team. We try to push the product to take Virtual Machine backup which is mostly required at customer place. We haven't configure integration with any other apps so not sure how it works. If possible, please schedule a Demo session for the same. Pricing is good in Oman market. The biggest advantage is that we get Perpetual licensing as it help us to convince customer to buy than any other Vendors such as Veeam/Veritas/Acronis. **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** As there is not much of talks in the market, no one really knows the product which becomes difficult to put in front of the customer. It backs up all of the company data that requires backup in one place. I love that the backup is done on our own dedicated machine so that we have it off-site and off-line. Setup was super easy and configuration was straight forward with the ability to fine tune the items that need to be included. My mind is as ease becuase I setup the system to send me the backup result email. If anything goes wrong I know imediately after the backup is complete. If there are issues, the customer service is very prompt in analizyng the issue and patching the server. Kudos to the programers at Vembu! **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** The restore GUI does the job but could be further improved. The dashboard is very comprehensive and easy to use, I also get an email telling me whether the backup was successful of not. **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** It isn't a massive thing but it is a lilttle confusing when paying for more storage, twice I have added the credit to the wrong product but an email to the support team sorted it out within 24 hours. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** Microsoft 365 doesn't have a backup product so it is important to backup emails separately. Setting up VM backups for disaster recovery is straightforward and works great. I receive image integrity reports showing the boot status of the backed up VMs and I can perform a manual test recovery in a few minutes. Just works for both my Hyper-V and VMware VMs and physical servers. Licensing options are reasonably priced - especially the small business less than 6 CPU licenses- allow annual subscriptions or one time purchases. **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** The only negative I have about the software is that the upgrade process can be a bit tedious and some random issues usually come up after a version upgrade. **Recommendations to others considering BDRShield:** Support is excellent-- At all hours I have submitted simple to complicated questions and I receive responses almost immediately and support assists until issue is resolved. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** Needed a comprehensive backup solution for multiple VMs for both Hyper-V and VMware. Recovery a single file or folder --or recovering an entire VM; process is easy and straightforward. Image integrity checks have always been accurate to let me know I can count on our backups. BDRSuite helped me recover my Windows and Linux systems when the system had an error. It helped me many times. In both times, the issue was resolved on the first try. That rates 5* **What do you dislike about BDRShield?** Learning curve is a little steep. Support is oriented toward VembuBDR on Windows. Some Windows -> Linux translation is required when reading KB articles. It would be nice if KB articles had both a Windows version and a Linux version. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nightly back up of important VMs on my VMware vSphere environment. This can sometimes conflict with Server group policies on internet browsers and/or webpages. The licensing model i think is a bit inconveniencing but atleast you can run 1 full backup of a host before you cannot back it up anymore. There is no handy tool for clearing space on the backup target drive easily. **Recommendations to others considering BDRShield:** Pricing is better than veeam and the solution offers just as much, if not more. It is feature rich, cost effect solution with even more features than I myself have managed to explore. There is a perpetual licensing option if you ask for it, instead of paying annually. **What problems is BDRShield solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backing up of Important VM's and also there is less space consumed with the backups thanks to the incremental backup solution. This also has numerous restore points depending on how you have set up the backups to run, Previously we could not automate backups within the software, we had to run a script in windows and schedule the script. now we do not need to worry about that anymore. The email notifications are a huge help and takes a lot of manual work out of the process.
