"Efficient scheduling and alerts for servers"
What do you like best about BackBox?

The best part of BackBox is how it reduces the stress of managing network devices. I use it regularly to track backups and updates. Its features for automation and scheduling save a lot of time and prevent mistakes. It also helps my team coordinate and stay aware of each device’s status. Overall, it has made our workflow more reliable and less prone to errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

What bothers me about it is the lack of advanced reporting. I often need granular details for audits, but the built in reports don’t cover everything. I have to spend extra time formatting data outside the software, which interrupts my workflow and adds unnecessary steps to my backup management tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"BackBox supports our structured automation in network environments"
What do you like best about BackBox?

What I like most about it is how it simplifies backup and management of network devices. I rely on it often, so frequency of use is consistent in my workflow. It integrates well with tools like ServiceNow, which improves coordination. The number of features for automation and scheduling is very helpful. Implementation didn’t take too long, and it now supports my daily work by reducing manual steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

What I don’t like is that BackBox doesn’t always adapt well to uncommon setups. Implementation took longer because we had to tweak things manually. Even with a solid number of features, some options lack flexibility. This reduces frequency of use when dealing with edge cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It has clear structure for managing multiple network devices"
What do you like best about BackBox?

I personally like that BackBox is able to reduce the number of repetitive tasks in my day to day network work. I will not have to undergo the same configuration steps over and over again because I will be able to trust it to do it efficiently. I combine it with SSH tools and service desk systems, which can keep everything on track. I have the variety of features that provide me with sufficient control to handle the usage of various devices, and it allows me to be consistent without having to check each action manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

BackBox has failed to provide quick changes needed when I want them. Although it has plenty of features, they might turn straightforward tasks into the complex ones. My workflow is also impacted by the fact that I have encountered small problems with the usage of the same with SSH tools or service desk systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It keeps network systems organized every day"
What do you like best about BackBox?

The greatest benefit of this software to me is that it eliminates the aspect of repeating the same network activities again and again. Setting up configurations was tedious, but currently, I can count on the functionality of automation. The features related to scheduling of tasks are sufficient to my requirements. I also combine it with SolarWinds that helps in keeping things in check. It has made my daily work to be more structured and easy to handle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

I do not like how BackBox may seem limited when working with a very specific network configuration. Other features are too shallow and this implies that I occasionally have to leave the platform to complete an assignment. The amount of features is good, though not necessarily high in case of advanced requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable protection for routers, switches and firewalls"
What do you like best about BackBox?

One of the things that I like about BackBox is that it assists in avoiding misconfigurations of our network devices. Our online retail IT setting is full of routers and firewalls that have to be constantly updated and the platform is perfect in ensuring that any change is documented and backed up. With alerts and versioning and data provided by SolarWinds and incident tickets provided by ServiceNow we have the opportunity to identify problems before they can impact service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

A weakness that I have observed in BackBox is that it is a bit cumbersome to write reports on several devices simultaneously. At times, to get a consolidated view of all backups in our IT team, we have had to manually export data in the platform, which will add additional work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our teams can efficiently manage backup versions"
What do you like best about BackBox?

The most appropriate thing about BackBox is that it guards our infrastructure, backing up all network devices automation. When it comes to the management of IT systems, I was involved in the process of manual backups that were costly in terms of time, and in some cases, the configurations were lost. BackBox offers a scheduled backup, a versioning facility and automated restore which is a massive relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

My experience shows that one of the weaknesses of BackBox is that not all external alerting configurations can be configured automatically. In IT operations, the implementation of BackBox with Slack or ServiceNow to receive notifications in their entirety required some troubleshooting, now and then. "It's real reliable network automation for daily operations"
What do you like best about BackBox?

My favorite feature of BackBox is the manner in which it looks after repetitive network tasks in an organized manner. The implementation process was not disruptive because it was seen as controlled. We have connected it to ServiceNow and our alerting systems within the company so that changes and backups are synchronized. I spend almost every day on the platform, which demonstrates how it is an important part of my everyday life. My work is much more predictable due to the number of features that are oriented to device configuration and policy validation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

A disadvantage of BackBox is that certain complex workflows need more technical scripting expertise slowing down the assimilation amongst junior team members. As part of the implementation, we discovered that some jobs could not be customized as easily as they were supposed to be customized. Although it can be integrated with other systems, it may need time to fine-tune all connections. This affects our work as it introduces additional procedures when we are in need of deploying new automation operations fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Stronger backup discipline across distributed devices"
What do you like best about BackBox?

The greatest benefit of BackBox to me is that it paves consistency in network operations. I use it day by day to support configurations throughout routers and security appliances, a level of manual intervention is minimized. We matched it with our service desk platform internally to record the results of tasks in order to comply. The implementation was a matter of planning, but once it was done it became part of our routine. It is able to maintain stable infrastructure due to its automation capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

The thing that I consider difficult about BackBox is the preparation that has to be done at the start. Determining the type of devices and establishing correct credentials was more time consuming. Our frequency of use is high and so even slight set-up errors impacted on scheduled tasks. The features are robust, but the features can cause the environment to be technical. This added work load to our network team at the initial stages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Never worry about losing configurations again"
What do you like best about BackBox?

I like BackBox since it will provide our IT department with assurance in recoverability preparedness. The version history of automated backups of the network devices or server that has gone down means that we can have the networks reconfigured in a short period of time. It has enhanced our daily workflow, and the characteristics of grouping the devices and controlling the storage allocations have helped us to preserve the compliance as well as prevent any inconveniences during the updates or maintenance windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

The ability to control the complexity of groups of devices and backup versions at the same time is the primary disadvantage to me. Making sure that devices were carefully mapped to schedules during rollout was necessary. The mistakes are easily spotted because of the number of times that they are used on a daily basis, which might have an impact on the confidence with the system. This is because alerting is a simple procedure, hence additional time is required to verify the failed backups and intervention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
