Klevu's quick installation for Shopify Plus works well, integrating within the platform to get up and running quickly. Insights and merchandising are tied to the app, though I'm reviewing Klevu more so from a technical and development position. There's also a new "JSV2" product that allows for deeper integration into the platform, essentially allowing for complete control over the look and feel. For those using the standard Klevu functionality, I do like the functionality that the Klevu team has introduced into our setup specifically. Bespoke features - when it comes to algorithm and data collection, have been implemented quickly. The Klevu team overall, from support to client success, is solid. It may take some time for certain specific issues to be ironed out, but the team is dedicated and quick to respond to any issues. **What do you dislike about Athos Commerce?** The biggest challenge with Klevu so far has been data collection due to the bespoke and more custom nature of our business. We have specific rules and merchandising requirements that have made some of the more granular functionality harder to implement. Klevu's team, however, has been responsive and quick to get to where we need to be, but the need to customize some merchandising rules beyond what's out of the box has meant it has taken longer to become fine-tuned. Another challenge has been front-end loading - lazy load, for example, is available but not fully working with pagination, nor is the ability to preserve filtered attributes when clicking the "back" button. These UX improvements were implemented by Klevu quickly, but it is certainly one to improve in the core platform. The JSV2 product does allow for complete control over functionality, but it would need more developer input. **Recommendations to others considering Athos Commerce:** Klevu is quick to set up and use its out-of-the-box features, from search to merch. The team is also working on adding personalizing and recommendation features, which we haven't used, but it's good to see. For those considering Klevu, from a technical perspective, I would view any bespoke rules and automation needed, plus how flexible the front-end needs to be, as this will influence how long it may take to get up and running. **What problems is Athos Commerce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Klevu's algorithm and fine-tuning have allowed us to create a robust user experience, putting our products and categories at the forefront of the website. Fine-tuning the logic has taken some time, but we are moving towards a better overall solution. Search conversion has worked well - with good growth and usage. It's an area that we haven't taken much manual tuning (compared to curated category pages), so it has been working well out of the box. ### 6. We also liked their ability to merchandise product on site and create custom merchandising campaigns. Search spring ended up be the solution to many of our on site needs and we absolutely love them for it. We have customizable site filters, intelligent search which can also be controlled and merchandized. We were able to add helpful design elements to our category pages to help site navigation. Now we are adding their intuitive product recommendation functions that are personalized to the user. Our site has become much more user friendly to navigate and has also been a great tool for on site marketing. We get in depth reporting built in which has helped us craft informed site campaigns and helped lead customers to results more often. **What do you dislike about Athos Commerce?** Currently when an update is made to a campaign or a change is made to products in the back end, you are required to Index to see the changes go live. That process can slow down changes live on the site. We are told that this year that time lag will be instantaneous. **Recommendations to others considering Athos Commerce:** They are a great choice! We are very happy clients and we are looking forward to many more years partnered with them. Helping fine tune customers search results with the use of synonyms. Some UX issues were also solved such as highlighting new products with a "new" tag. Informing customers of additional colors available. Creating banners on site to help promote sales, inline category page marketing, custom collection assortment pages. ### 7. They offer a vast array of features to help us merchandise our products based on very specific criteria. We were even able to set up mini-stores for our customers, where they can just search for a keyword (such as a company name) and see a specific set of products. This saves our customers a lot of time and provides a more personalized experience on our store. The Searching support team is extremely responsive and they even assisted us to fix a bug that was related to an entirely different app. That bug was preventing our website from functioning and they quickly provided support. **What do you dislike about Athos Commerce?** There is nothing that I dislike. I don't have anything that stands out of dislike. Cost is what I expect for the level of service/product I'm getting. So... not cheap, but I'm getting what I pay for. Make sure you schedule time to go over the product and on-board with them, it will really help. There are a lot of great features that will only come to life after you set them up correctly, and sometimes you need a little help, and they are there to help you quickly. Its a very comprehensive soltuion, so make sure you get the most out of it. We used it for a few years without diving in deep, which was a mistake on our part, you should really spend some time each week in the software to make improvements, as it is not a set it and forget it if you want to get the most out of it. **What do you dislike about Athos Commerce?** It's minor- but better instructions and clearer "information" buttons to help you navigate. Sometimes there is so much information that it could get overwhelming. That's a good thing because it is a very comprehensive solution. In the very beginning years ago, they had different solutions, and now it seems they have simplified the pricing and options, which is great. The out of box search feature on BC is pretty weak. Also category pages. We are working with them right now to update our category pages and facets to help customers narrow down the search much better than Big Commerce out of box solution. The banners that are you are able to put up in the search results really help as well, and can be customized quite a bit. Now you can even put videos, which we have not tried yet. Merchandising pages work well too, which we are using more and more. Lots of great boost rules so you can basically customize it to whatever you really want. ### 21. Solid platform. With Searchspring, my requests are handled initially by experts who are able to solve my problem immediately without escalation. Their front line staff are extremely knowledgeable and are considered subject matter experts in their respective fields. For smaller stores, their pricing plans may be a little on the pricey side, but for omni retailers like us, we consider it money put to good use.
