Arctic Wolf is a much-needed augmentation to our small IT/security team, we use it daily. After firing up the POC we were able to easily integrate many log and data sources right away and were seeing events within the afternoon. The platform and alerting is intuitive and easy to understand. The concierge team has been great supporting our environment, answering questions and providing ongoing support and updates. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** There is nothing we "dislike" about Arctic Wolf, there is some fine tuning required but as time goes on we are seeing continuous improvements to the configuration. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Arctic Wolf solves the problem of continuous monitoring where we do not have enough dedicated staff to have our own SOC or to staff all shifts 24/7/365. ### 2. Because ArcticWolf can collect log information from all our security systems, they become the single source for knowing risks within our environment. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** I would like ArcticWolf to find a better way to notify us on security threats. These notifications currently are handled within the ticketing system, so we get email alerts on ticket updates the same as an urgent issues. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having MDR is a requirement for our cyber insurance, and ArcticWolf is filling that role. It also provides security alerts with the managed risk features, notifies us when scanners go offline which is an early indicator that we have an issue at an office location, agent alerts from our endpoints when risks are detected, and they analyze log files from our firewalls and endpoint protection. ### 3. They're always keeping an eye out for things, helping us resolve issues, and they reach out anytime there are critical issues. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** There is no way to see your active feeds. You have to request the information from Arctic Wolf and then it comes in a CSV with minimal identifying information outside of an IP address. It would be helpful to be able to see the feeds, their status, and add some descriptions to them from the dashboard. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** They solve the issue of having minimal staff at our organization with minimal cyber security training. Educational sessions, quizzes, and phishing simulations are distributed regularly to employees without any action required by our internal IT team. The content is short and engaging, and the information is relevant. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** Updating the list of employees as folks are hired or termed can be a slow process because we need to send an updated list to the team at Arctic Wolf and they use that to update our information. We cannot customize the phishing simulation templates to tailor the messages to our company or industry - though the emails that Arctic Wolf sends are good examples of phishing. I'd like to see an email client add-on which allows employees to easily report phishing attempts to our IT team. These are minor complaints and Arctic Wolf has stated that they plan to work on these enhancements as they continue to develop the Managed Security Awareness solution. **Recommendations to others considering Arctic Wolf:** Arctic Wolf has been easy to work with and you can tell they care about the success of their customers. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** The cybersecurity education program we used before was hard to maintain and it was difficult to track employee participation and progress. Using Arctic Wolf's MSA program has made it easier to educate our employees and easier to see where our strengths and weaknesses are. They appear to be consistently focussed on the cyber landscape, and notifying us when they believe our security posture is vulnerable to it. Relevant threats in the wild are identified and communicated to us on a regular basis. Customer service ethos and high level of professionalism is apparent. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** I don't have a lot to say on the negative side at this point. Regarding the programming of custom rules, it must be done with the Python programming language, which costs a bit of work if you do not master programming, in particular, the dashboard gives you an overview. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** I don't think there is a lot to dislike about this product. **Recommendations to others considering Arctic Wolf:** I would recommend this to everyone as it is a nice application and easy to Deploy. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have had few incidents where we wanted to understand what's going on in the machines. The console is easy to use and helpful in keeping the system up to date. We have this software installed on about 800 devices. In some cases tuning is required - if staff uses a lot of powershell or python scripts, this will require tuning. If you purchase Threat Zero services, the company will have a quarterly call with staff and go over findings and help tune the software. This is a great service. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** First you will need to have Cylance help with installation and initial tuning (the service is also called Threat Zero). If Threat Zero is not purchased, you will likely fail to install and configure the software correctly. Second, this is not a plug and play A/V tool. You will need someone to look at the Cylance console on a regular basis. Once staff is used to this, the process only takes a few minutes, but it will take some time getting to this level of expertise and comfort. Third, phone support has disappeared since BlackBerry bought the company. This is my most serious issue with the company. When you are fighting an issue with malware, you want/need to talk to support immediately, sending an email and waiting for a return call is not my idea of great support. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had problems with our previous A/V tool in a few areas. It wasn't catching all threats, some workstations and servers ran slower with our old tool. Updating client versions didn't work well. Cylance solved all of these issues. ### 13. AWN is able to ingest the log information from our ISP firewalls and give us feedback to request further adjustments from our vendor. Their Concierge team coverage, support, and response are optimal for our IT department. Quarterly reviews with our account manager and analyst help us to stay on track with our initiatives. A plethora of reports assists in presenting our department position when it comes to security with senior managers and our insurance company. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** The dashboard risk management GUI still could improve areas like whitelisting/blacklisting IPs. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Discovering the lack of security patches on third-party devices on the network. Moving the reluctant devices to a separate VLAN and contacting the vendor's tech support has helped not only upgrading the devices but to rewrite our renewal contracts with them. Also not having to review the condition of endpoints throughout the day give us time for other projects. The ability to isolate a device from the network when the agent detects an abnormality without human intervention during off-hours is great. ### 14. Great onboarding team that walked me through the whole process. The reporting is great and the threat reports are incredibly thorough. The agent is also very reliable. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** I don't think the MacOS client is as reliable as the Windows client. We had numerous issues after upgrading to Mojave with Cylance. The issue was fixed with an agent update but that took over a month. **Recommendations to others considering Arctic Wolf:** Cylance is a great product and definitely worth the money. You should still pair it with other security solutions (application whitelisting, limiting administrative rights etc). **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cylance provides another layer of defense for our endpoints. We have centralized reporting and oversight with Cylance. We have also been able to tweak the security settings based on departments and users. ### 20. We have had several incidents where we needed this to dig into what was happening on our computers. This helped us drill down and find what was happening. **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** We dont have much control as users but we leave that to our IT personnel. Our than that not much to dislike. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to have peace of mind that our computers are protected and that if there is something that gets through we can find out what happened. One of the main benefits in this product is how light it is. This does not make our machines run slow like other products. ### 21. It gives you the info you need at a glance about threats on your pc **What do you dislike about Arctic Wolf?** The backend management interface can be slow at times but it is robust. It does seem to flag an awful lot of things as threats though they aren't. Like built in windows processes get flagged for some reason and you have to go in and allow each process. **What problems is Arctic Wolf solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being that Cylance is available for both mac and pc we are able to successfully protect all of the computing devices that we deploy. ### 22.
