## About Apify
Apify is the largest marketplace of tools for AI. At its core is Apify Store, a marketplace where builders create, publish, and monetize tools called Actors. Actors are serverless cloud programs that get web data and automate tasks on the web. Builders create them with JavaScript or Python. Build an Actor once and publish it to Apify Store. Thousands of builders already have. Earn when others use it - Apify handles all the infrastructure, billing, and monthly payouts. For everyone else, Apify means never building from scratch. Apify Store has thousands of ready-to-run Actors for extracting Amazon product data, scraping Google Maps listings, monitoring competitor prices, pulling social media content, generating leads, and hundreds of other jobs on the web. Pick the Actor you need, run it, and get your data. Behind the scenes, Actors handle proxy rotation, CAPTCHA solving, JavaScript rendering, headless browsers, scaling, storage, and scheduling. The Apify platform runs with 99.95% uptime. It&#39;s SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and CCPA compliant, and trusted by companies and organizations such as Intercom, Groupon, and the European Commission. Run Actors through Apify Console, integrate them with Zapier and Make, or connect them to AI frameworks like LangChain and Hugging Face to feed LLMs and vector databases. Apify&#39;s MCP server lets AIs like Claude discover and use Actors as tools dynamically, so an agent can ask &quot;find the top 10 Indian restaurants in San Francisco&quot; and automatically use the right Actor to get that data. Use cases span competitive intelligence, lead generation, market research, SEO monitoring, and crawling websites for AI context. If there&#39;s data on the web, there&#39;s probably an Actor for it. Apify has residential and datacenter proxies, browser automation with Puppeteer and Playwright, automatic retries, error handling, monitoring dashboards, and APIs. Schedule runs to keep data fresh and export to JSON, CSV, Excel, Google Sheets, databases, or push straight into your workflows. Beyond Apify Store, the Professional Services team builds and maintains custom solutions with dedicated data experts and long-term project maintenance. Start free with $5 in prepaid monthly platform usage; paid plans scale with compute, storage, and proxy usage (see https://apify.com/pricing).

## Apify Reviews
  ### 1. A True Merchant of Record Marketplace with Fast CLI/API Deploy and Strong Discovery

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dosmukhamed Z. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify is the only marketplace I've found that works as a true merchant of record for a solo, unincorporated developer — it handles buyer billing, payouts, and support, so I can publish a paid Actor and start earning without building a payments stack myself. The CLI/API deploy flow is fast once you know it, and the Apify Store's internal search actually surfaces a brand-new listing to real buyers on day one, which is rare for any marketplace. Automated QA test-runs published Actors and flags broken ones as "under maintenance" — it caught a failure of mine before users did. Actors expose input/output schemas that AI agents read directly, and the API covers builds, pricing and schedules, so my whole publish pipeline runs from CI.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Revenue and payout data are Console-only — most useful endpoints for reading back earnings, monetization, and payout status simply 404 on the public API, so you're stuck clicking through the dashboard instead of scripting it. Personal-account payout documentation is thin, and some account fields (bio, picture, payout billing info) can only be set through the Console, not the API, which breaks automation workflows that otherwise deploy and price actors end to end via CLI/API.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a solo, unincorporated developer in the UAE, I can't get a merchant account or payment processor of my own for selling software directly to global buyers. Apify solves that by being the actual merchant of record: I publish a paid Actor, it handles buyer billing and currency, and pays me out — no company entity, no payment gateway integration, no invoicing buyers myself. That turned a side project into something with real, measurable monthly revenue within weeks of first publishing.

  ### 2. Pre-Built Actors Cut Setup Time and Deliver Fast, Reliable Web Scraping

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerald V. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What stands out most for our web scraping and data extraction work is how much setup time the pre-built Actors save. Instead of writing scrapers from scratch for every new site, we can usually find an Actor that's already close to what we need and adjust it, which cuts our time-to-first-data from days to hours. Performance has been solid too — runs come back fast, which matters when we're pulling data on a regular cadence. It's also been easy to plug into our own pipeline — the API and standard output formats (JSON/CSV) mean we're not writing custom glue code, and it integrates well with Claude, so we can feed scraped data straight into an AI workflow without extra transformation steps. On pricing, the free tier made it easy to prove out value before committing any spend, which lowered the barrier to actually trying it against our real use case.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The graphical user interface could be more streamlined — navigating between Actors, runs, and storage sometimes takes more clicks than it should, and it can feel a bit cluttered when you're trying to quickly check on a job or find a specific dataset. A cleaner, more consolidated dashboard view would make it faster to manage things day-to-day.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were struggling to keep up with content creation for our social media pages — sourcing fresh, relevant material consistently took a lot of manual research time. Apify has let us automate that data-gathering step, pulling in content and information from the web on a regular basis instead of doing it by hand. That's freed up time to focus on actually crafting and posting content rather than hunting for source material, and it's helped us post more consistently, which has translated into improved traffic to our social pages.

  ### 3. Apify’s MCP Integration Makes AI-Driven Data Extraction Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avenca D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify offers an incredible variety of scrapers, but what really stands out is how seamlessly it connects via MCP. Being able to trigger actors and pull high-quality data directly inside AI-driven workflows and agents has made data extraction faster, more practical, and truly automated end to end. They offer $5 in monthly credits, which is already enough to run some tests and extract quite a bit of information. For new users, you can get an extra $5 by completing tasks like following their page, among other things.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The initial learning curve can be steep. At first, the dashboard may feel overwhelming and confusing because of the sheer number of features, settings, and available actors. This can make it difficult for newcomers to quickly figure out which specific actor or setup best matches their particular use case.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it for various purposes in my workflow, from extracting potential contacts to integrating with specific tools within my applications. Before standardizing on Apify, our web data extraction was fragmented and high-maintenance. Apify is solving problems on the business side, with market research and lead extraction, as well as extracting public information that is used in our application.

  ### 4. Rich Actor Library and MCP Connectors Make AI Agents Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khalid Ibne H. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through Google using a business email account

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Aside from the fact that it has a rich library of actors, I love their MCP connectors, which make it very easy to get AI agents to do things for me.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The store is deep but uneven per source. For Canadian real estate listings I ended up wiring three different community actors for the same site, because no single one returned everything I needed - one for search, one for enrichment, one for detail pages - each with its own input schema and field shapes. And there's no way to know what fields an actor actually returns until you pay for a run to find out, so I wrote my own probe script for that.

Cost visibility is the bigger gap. run-sync-get-dataset-items hands back the items but no usage figure, so in a multi-tenant app where I attribute spend per tenant, every dollar number I report is an estimate rather than a billed one. A place-name normalization bug on my side once tripled my paid runs on a daily cron and nothing flagged it. Returning usage on the sync endpoint, plus per-actor daily ceilings and a spend anomaly alert, would fix both. Synchronous runs are also slow enough that two of them plus enrichment crowds a 300s serverless function.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives my agents a reliable way to get structured listing data out of sites that have no public API. Instead of maintaining my own scrapers and fighting anti-bot measures, I point a scheduled job at an actor and get clean records back. That turned a nightly data-collection problem into a config change, and let me spend my time on the agent logic and the domain math instead.

  ### 5. Simple Web Scraping with Time-Saving Actors and Fast, Helpful Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarun K. | data engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through Google One Tap using a business email account

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

I really like how simple Apify makes web scraping. Their library of ready-made actors saved us a ton of time, and setting up custom scrapers was smooth and straightforward. Customer support has also been fast and helpful whenever I’ve gotten stuck.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

there's a slight learning curve if you're completely new to code, and pricing can scale up a bit fast if you run large scraping jobs constantly. but the docs and support make it pretty easy to handle.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

apify helps us automate large-scale data collection and web scraping without having to manage complex server infrastructure. before using it, we spent way too much time setting up proxies, handling dynamic content, and maintaining fragile scrapers. with apify, we can launch pre-built actors or deploy custom scrapers in minutes, saving our team hours of manual dev work every week and letting us focus on analyzing the data instead

  ### 6. Apify Eliminates Scraper Maintenance with Reliable Scheduling and a Great Actor Marketplace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oaida A. | Frontend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The thing I like best is that it removed the worst part of web scraping for me — the maintenance. I used to run my own scripts for price tracking, and every couple of weeks a site would change its markup and my whole pipeline would quietly die. With Apify I set the jobs on a schedule and they just run; when something does fail, it tells me, and I can see exactly what happened instead of discovering a week later that my data's been empty.

The actor marketplace is a close second. For a lot of the sources I need — e-commerce sites, registries, social platforms — someone has already built and maintained a scraper, so I spend my time on the actual project instead of reverse-engineering a website.

And more recently the MCP server has become a favourite: I can point an AI agent at Apify and it pulls live web data as a tool call. That's the kind of feature that makes you wonder why nobody else did it first

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Pricing is the main thing. It's usage-based, which I actually like in principle, but it's hard to estimate what a run will cost before you start it — prices vary by actor and there's a compute component on top. I once left a misconfigured job running and watched my credit balance drop faster than I expected; I learned my lesson and set limits, but it would be much better if the platform told you 'this run will cost about X' upfront instead of making you find out after.

The marketplace can be uneven too. Anyone can publish an actor, and while that's great for variety, it means some popular actors are poorly maintained. I've had an actor break after its maintainer pushed an update and only found out when my pipeline started failing. A clearer signal about how recently an actor was updated would save a lot of users a lot of headaches.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two problems, mainly.

First, reliability. I run data collection for price monitoring and small research projects, and before Apify that meant maintaining my own scrapers — which broke constantly. Every site redesign was a small crisis, and I'd find out a pipeline was dead only when I needed the data. Apify solved that by handling scheduling, retries, and monitoring for me. Now the jobs run themselves, and when something fails I know about it immediately instead of a week later.

Second, speed. A lot of the sources I need are already covered by actors in the marketplace, so I skip the whole build-and-maintain cycle for common scraping tasks. That's let me take on projects I wouldn't have started before — the setup cost was just too high. The API also means I can plug collected data straight into my own small apps, and the MCP server does the same for AI agents, which has been a nice shortcut.

The benefit in one line: I get dependable, current data without spending my evenings keeping scrapers alive.

  ### 7. MCP in Cursor actually runs my Actors

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The Store plus cloud runtime in one place. I can ship a packaged Actor with inputs, datasets, proxies, and billing, list it publicly, and price it pay-per-event instead of building my own SaaS. The other piece I use daily is MCP: I pin my Actors in Cursor, and the agent can start real runs and read bounded output instead of inventing scrape code. Local Playwright/Crawlee development still maps cleanly to apify push, so what I test locally is what buyers run in the cloud. That combination — distribution, rerunnable cloud jobs, and agent-callable tools — is what I could not get from a script on my laptop or from n8n/Make alone.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Debugging cloud runs that work locally but return empty datasets. Logs, proxy settings, the request queue, and dataset preview live in different Console screens, so a failed run still means a lot of tab-hopping before you know whether it was proxy, timeout, or extraction.

MCP setup does not travel well across tools. I repeat OAuth and server config in Cursor, Claude, and Codex. Narrow Actor pins help, but it feels like setup tax every time I switch IDE.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed repeatable supplier research for CEE/EU work — find companies, enrich contacts, map dealer networks, pull public PDFs, watch pages for changes — without maintaining my own scrape farm, job queue, or billing stack. Apify solves that by packaging each workflow as an Actor: cloud runs, proxies, datasets, schedules, and a public Store listing buyers can run on their own balance.

  ### 8. Apify: Easy to Use, Easy to Integrate, and Packed with Scraping Actors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Okta N. | Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** This review contains authentic analysis and has been reviewed by our team

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like about Apify is, firstly, that it has a wide range of scraping actors; secondly, it’s easy to use; and thirdly, it’s easy to integrate into various systems. My experience with Apify’s automation and AI capabilities has been very smooth. Using pre-built actors eliminated the need to maintain web scrapers whenever website structures change. When connected to AI tools, it allowed fast, structured content extraction directly into JSON/CSV formats, making it easy to bridge raw web data into my statistical workflows.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

There is still a lack of built-in scraping actors in Apify and, in my opinion, for some actors, the price is still a bit too high.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem Apify solved on my project involved scraping social media data; the benefit was that I obtained clean data from the scraping process, which helped me complete my final-year project as a requirement for graduation.

  ### 9. Seamless Actor Deployment, But Compute Costs and Serverless Debugging Can Be Opaque

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The seamless developer experience for deploying and monetizing data pipelines. The platform handles all the underlying infrastructure, serverless execution, and proxy rotation out of the box. This makes it incredibly easy to package Python scraping scripts—like custom review or transcript extractors—into scalable micro-SaaS Actors without having to manage backend operations.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

While developing and monetizing Actors, managing compute unit consumption for heavier browser automation tasks requires strict optimization to maintain a good profit margin. Projecting the exact cost profile and billing events before scaling a workflow can sometimes be opaque. Additionally, when an edge-case failure occurs in production—such as an issue with a Python-based transcript generator or review scraper—debugging within the isolated serverless environment can occasionally be more tedious than stepping through the Crawlee script in a local setup.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify eliminates the massive infrastructure overhead required to run and scale data pipelines. It provides a reliable serverless environment with built-in proxy rotation, solving the constant headache of anti-bot measures and server maintenance.<br><br>This benefits me by allowing me to focus purely on extraction logic for my scraping scripts rather than backend operations. Furthermore, the Actor ecosystem lets me easily package, deploy, and monetize these Python tools as micro-SaaS products directly to users, completely bypassing the need to build a custom commercial backend.

  ### 10. The actor store means I never had to build or babysit a scraper

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Đặng Q. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** This review contains authentic analysis and has been reviewed by our team

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The Actor Store is the whole value for me. I'm a one-person engineering team, and building plus maintaining scrapers for two marketplaces that change their markup every few weeks was never going to be a good use of my time. I found existing actors for both sources I needed, and I've been running them in production for months without touching scraper code once. The `run-sync-get-dataset-items` endpoint is also underrated: it's a single authenticated HTTP call that returns the parsed dataset in the same request, so I integrated Apify into a serverless route in about twenty minutes with no SDK and no queue or webhook plumbing.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Prepaid credits don't roll over — whatever you haven't spent when the billing cycle ends is simply gone. I lost part of a month's budget before I realised that, and I've since had to write my own end-of-cycle job that spends the remainder down on purpose. For a metered infrastructure product I'd expect at least a short grace window, or a warning email when a cycle is about to close with a meaningful balance unused.

Cost predictability is the other rough edge. Pay-per-event actors charge a start event priced per GB of run memory, so the same job costs double at the 4 GB default versus 2 GB — a knob that isn't obvious until you go looking for it. When several jobs share one account, attributing spend back to which job caused it takes real effort.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's my entire data-acquisition layer. Every day a scheduled job pulls fresh best-selling products and matching short-form video into my database, and that dataset is the product my users actually pay for. Apify turned "hire or become a scraping team" into a line item under twenty dollars a month. The API also exposes the current billing cycle and usage, which let me automate my own spend controls — combined with the account-level monthly usage cap, I can leave the crons running unattended and know the worst case is a failed run rather than a surprise invoice.

  ### 11. Proxies and billing included, customer run logs missing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Residential proxies come with the platform, so I pin or rotate the exit IP per session without signing up with a second vendor. Build tags let me test a beta build against latest before paying users ever see it. Pay-per-event billing meters dataset items for me, so a run that returns nothing costs the client nothing. I run and sell from the same place.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

As an Actor owner I see aggregate stats for customer runs but never their logs, so I debug failures I cannot reproduce. The automated daily test flags healthy Actors as under maintenance when the default input is heavy. Residential pool quality swings, and some sites reject every rotation for a whole window. Monetization data lives only in the Console, with no API.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I monitor marketplace prices, research companies against open registries, and sell the scrapers as products. Sites behind anti-bot protection need residential proxies and a real browser, which I would otherwise assemble and maintain myself. Six Actors run on schedule every night and served about 470 customer runs last month, without a single server of mine involved.

  ### 12. Incredible Pre-Built Scrapers, Slight Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omkar M. | owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The huge ecosystem of pre-built "Actors" is a real lifesaver. Rather than building web scrapers from scratch for major sites like Google Maps, Instagram, or Amazon, I can deploy a ready-made solution in just minutes. The built-in proxy rotation and browser management have worked flawlessly for me, saving me hours of troubleshooting and dealing with anti-bot blocks.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The learning curve can be pretty steep if you need to customize an Actor beyond the basic settings. The platform feels very developer-centric, so non-technical users may struggle once they get into the more advanced JavaScript/Python configuration. Monitoring costs can also be a bit tricky, since memory-intensive tasks can burn through platform credits faster than you might expect.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of manual data collection and the constant maintenance headache of broken scrapers. We use it to automatically extract B2B leads and track competitor pricing. The biggest benefit for us is the automation: we get clean, structured data delivered straight into our Google Sheets every day, without having to manage servers or any infrastructure.

  ### 13. Excellent Monetization and Fast Publishing with Apify

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarek E. | Solo developer and founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The monetization side is the part I didn’t expect to be this good. With pay-per-event, I can set a price per result my Actor actually returns, and the platform takes care of billing, invoicing, and payouts for me. I can publish an Actor and have it become a product the same day, complete with its own store page, separate indexed pages for each configuration, and an API and MCP endpoint I didn’t have to build myself. Deploying is straightforward: I just push the source and add a build tag. Support replies in hours, not days, and they’ve even raised my account limits when I asked.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The limits that end up constraining you aren’t just the ones shown in the plan object, and some of them don’t seem to be documented anywhere. Publishing is rate-limited on a rolling 24-hour basis, and you only learn what the cap is after you hit a 429. The monthly external data transfer allowance appears to count every byte the API sends back, including routine metadata and listing/enumeration calls. Once an account grows past a few thousand tasks, that allowance gets consumed by enumeration rather than by actual data, and on my plan there’s no option to raise it. The Actor quality score also seems to be calculated over a rolling 30-day window, so even if you fix a defect today, it continues to be reported for weeks with no way to indicate that the issue has been resolved.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a portfolio of data Actors as a solo operator. For me, Apify is the storefront, billing, scheduling, proxy, and distribution all in one place, so the only thing I truly own and maintain is the code that collects the data. The MCP endpoint has mattered more than I expected: AI agents can discover and call my Actors directly, which creates a sales channel that didn’t exist two years ago and that I wouldn’t have any practical way to reach on my own.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

MCP! It works great and Claude code and Codex gets it very fast. Many different resources available and different options for the same/similars, so we are able to test them and choose the best for our use case. The resources in general are a great value for their cost, much better than any other lead enrichment platform I have tried using for the Brazilian market. With GPT, Claude or any agent that can run APIs and is able to learn the structure of the replies, it works great, cheap and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

To use it manually is not easy or simple, but at the same time it is not meant to be used this way and I have only used it manually on the first tests, after all by code made by hand or by Claude.

  ### 15. Actor Marketplace Made LinkedIn Scraping Fast, Flexible, and Pay-Per-Use

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The actor marketplace. I needed a LinkedIn scraper that returned specific fields like the About section, recent roles, and posts in a clean structured format. Instead of building one myself, I found a maintained actor, configured the inputs, and had it running in minutes. For a solo operation without engineering resources, that is the difference between having a daily lead pipeline and not having one. The pay-per-usage pricing also means I only pay for what I actually scrape, which at my volume works out to a fraction of a cent per profile.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Rate limit guidance is missing. I had to figure out through failed runs that LinkedIn scrapes need to go out in small batches with gaps between them, and the platform never told me that upfront. Also, different LinkedIn actors return different fields and there is no clear comparison showing which actor pulls what before you spend credits testing them. I wasted runs discovering that some actors do not return recent posts or activity data, which are the most valuable fields for my use case.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manual lead sourcing did not scale. I consult across five geographies and need to review 15 to 20 new profiles daily to keep my outreach pipeline running. Before Apify, that meant browsing LinkedIn one profile at a time and copying details manually, maybe 8 to 10 on a good morning. Now I run a batch in 30 minutes and get clean structured data I feed directly into my outreach workflow. More profiles reviewed means more personalized connection notes sent, which means more conversations started. One converted lead per month covers my entire annual Apify spend several times over.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is the massive library of ready-to-use Actors combined with a robust cloud infrastructure. It completely eliminates the need to build scrapers from scratch and saves our team hours of development and maintenance time every week.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

There isn't much to dislike, but the learning curve for advanced custom actors can be a bit steep at first. More out-of-the-box workflow templates for third-party integrations would also be a nice addition.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We struggled with manual data collection and maintaining custom scrapers, but now we can use Apify's pre-built actors and reliable cloud automation to extract structured data seamlessly, which has resulted in significantly faster project execution and saved our team dozens of hours each month. For instance, we specifically use it to automatically scrape and structure product data and contact lists for our web development and automation projects, replacing tedious manual copy-pasting with clean JSON and CSV exports.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The best thing is the connection via MCP (I use claude code for that) and the easiness to say a prompt, search between thousands of actors and to get you a good amount of leads. The free plan to start is also awesome.
The UI was really good but I used the mcp more than the actual platform. Performance was amazing and also was suppot. Did not use AI fetures inside the platform.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The limits on free plan. They should be more. Also they could make slight improvements in connections to different ai or llm to make the connection with tools like claude code more seamless.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best thing is the connection via MCP (I use claude code for that) and the easiness to say a prompt, search between thousands of actors and to get you a good amount of leads. The free plan to start is also awesome. The feature to connect to your favorite llm and mostly automate the entire scraping process was amazing.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

I'm a computer science student from Namibia who started building web scraping actors on Apify about 6 months ago. I now have 2 live monetized actors on the Apify Store covering African real estate and e-commerce data, and I've already received my first payout.
The platform is genuinely well built. The actor system makes it easy to package and monetize scraping tools, the proxy infrastructure is reliable, and the store gives you real distribution. The documentation is solid and the developer relations team has been supportive.
If you're a developer looking to build and monetize data products, Apify is the best platform I've found for it. The pay-per-result pricing model works well for both sides.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The free tier limits make it difficult to test actors thoroughly before publishing, running out of compute credits mid-test is frustrating when you're still in development. The automated quality testing system that flags actors as "under maintenance" can also be overly aggressive; it flagged my actor repeatedly even after fixing the issue, which temporarily hurt my store visibility. Better documentation around the input schema defaults required for automated testing would save new developers a lot of time.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the problem of building, hosting, and monetizing web scraping tools without needing to manage your own infrastructure. As a developer in Namibia, I was able to build scrapers for African real estate and e-commerce data, markets that are largely ignored by existing data providers, and publish them to a global marketplace where paying customers can find and use them.
The platform handles proxies, scheduling, storage, billing, and payouts. That means I can focus purely on building the scraper logic rather than DevOps. Within a few months I went from zero to three live monetized actors covering Property24 across 9 African countries and Takealot product data, and received my first payout of over $200.
For developers in emerging markets especially, Apify levels the playing field, you can build a data product once and sell it globally without needing a company, payment infrastructure, or marketing budget beyond the store listing itself.

  ### 19. Apify: Effortless, Scalable Web Scraping with Cloud Actors

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is its ability to automate large-scale web scraping with minimal operational overhead. The Actor ecosystem, cloud execution, scheduling, and built-in proxy management make it easy to build reliable scraping workflows without managing infrastructure. It’s especially valuable for competitor ad monitoring and recurring data collection, saving significant manual effort while scaling effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The biggest drawbacks are the learning curve and debugging experience. While the platform is powerful, new users can find the documentation and Actor ecosystem overwhelming. When a scraper fails, identifying the root cause from execution logs can take time. I’d also like to see better Actor discovery, clearer quality metrics, and more visual workflow-building capabilities for complex automation pipelines.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify automates the collection of publicly available web data, eliminating hours of manual research. In my case, it helps monitor competitor ads and pricing, collect market intelligence on a schedule, and deliver consistent data for analysis. This saves time, improves decision-making, and allows the team to focus on insights rather than repetitive data collection.

  ### 20. Apify Makes Complex Data Collection Reliable, Scalable, and Hands-Off

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Apify?**

I like that Apify gives me a reliable way to automate complex data‑collection tasks without needing to build or maintain my own infrastructure. The platform scales effortlessly, handles dynamic websites better than most tools I’ve tried, and provides clean, structured data that’s easy to plug into dashboards or AI workflows. What stands out most is the combination of flexibility and stability — once a workflow is set up, it runs consistently in the background and frees up a huge amount of time that would otherwise be spent on manual research or repetitive tasks.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

I dislike that some parts of Apify still feel overly technical, especially for users who aren’t deeply familiar with JSON, selectors, or debugging automation workflows. Certain actors have inconsistent input formats, which makes setup less intuitive than it could be. Error messages can also be vague at times, requiring extra trial and error to understand what went wrong. While the platform is powerful, the usability gaps mean that even simple tasks can take longer than expected for non‑technical users.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the problem of collecting reliable data at scale without manual effort. It automates repetitive research tasks, keeps information up to date, and removes the need to maintain custom scraping tools. This saves time, reduces errors, and lets me focus on analysis and decision‑making instead of data gathering.

  ### 21. Apify Made Large-Scale Google Maps Scraping Fast, Reliable, and Automatable

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

As a solo founder, what I value most is that Apify let me skip building any scraping infrastructure. The ready-made Google Maps Actor pulls thousands of real venues per run (some of mine returned over 5,000 places), with proxies and anti-blocking handled for me.
Performance has been excellent: every run I have launched completed successfully, and large pulls of several thousand places finish quickly, which is what let me build verified catalogues for nine cities, each in about an afternoon.
The integrations are a big part of the appeal. Output comes back as clean, structured data that drops straight into my pipeline, and the MCP server lets me trigger and pull runs directly from my AI workflow, so the whole process is automatable rather than manual. That AI-driven workflow is genuinely useful.
The console is clear once you know it: launching, monitoring and exporting a run is straightforward, and the Actor documentation and ready-made templates meant I could onboard myself without contacting support.
On pricing, the pay-as-you-go model suits a bootstrapped budget, and the ROI has been strong: a modest spend produced thousands of verified venues that are now the core of my product.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Here's the "dislike" answer, balanced and constructive, and it deepens the two topics that were still unchecked (UI/UX and Onboarding) plus the cost side of Pricing/ROI:

A few honest downsides. First, the usage-based billing needs active watching. Costs can climb faster than you expect on big runs, the spend controls are not front and center, and I would like a clear cost estimate shown before a run rather than after. Spend limits do exist, so it is manageable, but new users should turn them on early.

Second, Actor quality is inconsistent across the marketplace. Because anyone can publish, some Actors are excellent while others break when the target site changes or behave differently from their documentation. A stronger verified or production-grade tier, with clearer reliability signals, would let you trust an Actor without testing several first.

Third, the first-run experience is steeper than it should be for a non-developer. Configuring an Actor's input fields and proxy options took some trial and error, documentation quality varies between community Actors, and onboarding is entirely self-serve, so you work it out yourself. Once you are over that initial climb it runs smoothly, but the ramp could be gentler.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My product lives or dies on one thing: real, verified restaurants, not the invented places generic AI tools produce. Collecting that data accurately and at scale was the single hardest part of building it, and it is the problem Apify solved for me.
Instead of manually compiling venues or building and maintaining my own scrapers, I run a proven Google Maps Actor per city and get thousands of verified venues back (names, ratings, photos, coordinates) in one deep pass. I have done this for nine cities so far, each in about an afternoon.
The benefit is twofold. Practically, it turned a months-long data problem into a repeatable, near-hands-off step, at a modest pay-as-you-go cost a bootstrapped solo founder can afford. Strategically, that verified dataset is now my core differentiator: I can offer travellers real, trustworthy venues instead of the unreliable results AI invents. Without Apify, that value proposition would not exist.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The best part about Apify is definitely their Store with pre-built actors. It saves our team a ton of development time because we rarely have to write scrapers completely from scratch. The built-in proxy management is also a huge plus, handling all the rotation seamlessly without us having to configure it manually.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Estimating the exact compute costs for large-scale scraping jobs can be a bit confusing at first. Also, while they offer an excellent developer plan (just $12/month which gives you $85 in credits for 6 months), the major downside is that you cannot use pre-built actors from the Store on this specific tier. You are forced to use only your own custom actors, which slightly limits the out-of-the-box convenience if you are on that budget plan.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Apify, our team struggled with building and maintaining our own scraping infrastructure, which took up way too much engineering time. Managing IP rotation to avoid getting blocked was a constant headache. Apify solves this by providing a reliable, serverless environment with built-in proxy management. The main benefit is that we save dozens of hours a month on maintenance and can focus directly on analyzing the data we extract via their API, rather than fixing broken scrapers.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The thing that actually changed how I work is that publishing an Actor costs nothing up front. I have built and published 23 of them as a solo developer, and at no point did I need my own server, container registry, scheduler or payment processor. I write the code, push it, and it goes live with an input schema, a run history and usage-based billing already attached.

The API is unusually complete for a platform this size. Almost everything the Console does is reachable programmatically, so I update a README with a PUT to the build endpoint instead of re-pushing the whole source, and I pull my own Store statistics with a small script instead of reading dashboards by hand. That let me automate my own release checks across all 23 Actors.

Output schemas turned out to be the highest-leverage thing I added. Putting one in raised the quality score on my Actors from 74 to 78-79 across the board, and it is roughly ten minutes of work each.

The free compute tier is genuinely enough to develop on. I built and tested everything I have shipped so far without paying anything, which matters a lot when you are testing an idea rather than running a business on it yet.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The biggest one for me: a published Actor is excluded from Store search until the developer passes identity verification, and nothing in the publishing flow says so. I published 23 Actors over several weeks and only found the problem when I compared the Store search API with and without an auth token. Logged in as myself, my Actors ranked #1 and #2 for their keywords; to a logged-out visitor they did not appear at all. Everything looked healthy from the inside. A banner on the Actor page, or one line in the publish confirmation, would have saved me weeks of tuning titles and descriptions for a shelf I was not actually on.

The verification itself has been hard to finish from Japan. The document check does not accept a Japanese driver's licence because the name is in Japanese characters rather than Latin script, which in practice leaves a passport as the only route. Support has been responsive and is still working on it with me, but the flow assumes documents that not every country's residents hold.

Second, the container has no outbound access on SMTP ports 25, 587 and 465. I tested four different mail domains and every one refused or timed out, while DNS resolved fine, so it took a while to work out that the block was at the network level rather than in my code. That rules out a whole category of Actors, and I could not find it documented anywhere.

Third, cost is hard to predict before a run. I like usage-based pricing in principle, but compute units are not something you can estimate from outside, and the number you actually care about only appears after the run has finished.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a one-person operation trying to sell small automation tools, and the problem Apify solves is distribution and billing without infrastructure. Before this, shipping a tool meant standing up a server, keeping it patched, writing a job runner, and wiring in a payment provider before a single person could use it. On Apify all of that comes with the platform, so the distance between "this script works on my machine" and "someone else can run it and be charged for it" is one push.

Concretely, it let me put 23 tools in front of an audience I do not have to recruit myself. Most of mine are auditing tools rather than scrapers - checking a site's robots.txt and llms.txt against 26 AI crawlers, finding broken links and stale RSS feeds, auditing App Store listings for EU availability. Those are things I would never have hosted on my own because the traffic is too sporadic to justify a server, but they cost nothing to leave published here.

The second benefit is that the platform gives me numbers I can act on. Run counts, unique users over the last 30 days, and quality scores are all in the API, so I can measure which tools people actually return to instead of guessing. I have used that to decide what to build next more than once, and it has stopped me from writing tools nobody wanted.

The honest limit is that none of this converts to revenue until identity verification is done, since unverified developers are kept out of Store search - so right now the value I get is the build-and-ship pipeline rather than the sales channel.

  ### 24. Apify Speeds Up Data Collection Workflows for Lead Scraping and Research

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is the speed it gives me when building data collection workflows. Instead of creating custom scrapers from scratch, I can usually find an actor that gets me most of the way there, then adjust the inputs and clean the output afterward.

For my work, it is especially helpful for lead scraping, Google Maps data, company research, and sourcing structured information for outbound campaigns. The outputs are easy to use in Google Sheets, Airtable, Make, n8n, and CRM workflows, which makes it practical for real client delivery.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The main downside is that not every actor behaves the same way, so there is sometimes a testing period before finding the right setup. Some runs need cleanup afterward, especially when the data is being used for lead generation. It would also be helpful if pricing, run limits, and expected output volume were easier to estimate before running certain actors.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

That's allowing me to source leads from my clients a lot cheaper than usual market prices.

  ### 25. The most reliable web scraping platform on the cloud

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The absolute best thing is their massive library of pre-built "Actors". Instead of wasting time writing custom scrapers from scratch and fighting IP blocks, you just pick an Actor from their store, plug in your target URLs or keywords, and get clean, structured data back in seconds. Also, their built-in proxy management is top-notch and handles all the heavy lifting behind the scenes seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

There isn't much to dislike, but the platform's dashboard can be a bit overwhelming at first for complete beginners. It takes a little bit of time to understand how the credit system and compute units are consumed by different scripts, though their documentation is very good and helps you figure it out quickly.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the constant headache of writing, maintaining, and scaling web scrapers. Since website structures change constantly and IPs get blocked easily, handling everything in-house was a nightmare. Offloading this to Apify saves us dozens of developer hours every month and provides a highly reliable, automated pipeline of clean data for our market research and lead generation.

  ### 26. Great platform for web scraping and automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Azeem A. | Freelance Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like most is how quickly I can set up and run web scraping projects without managing the infrastructure myself. The ready-made Actors, scheduling, proxy options, and API integrations make it very convenient for regular data collection. Overall, the AI and automation features have been useful for getting scrapers running faster and handling repetitive tasks. They work well for common scraping needs, though complex websites still require some manual adjustments and testing.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Pricing can get expensive when you’re doing high-volume scraping, and troubleshooting failed Actors sometimes takes a bit of time. I also think some of the more advanced features could be explained more clearly, since they can be harder for new users to understand.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify helps us automate web scraping and data collection that would otherwise require a lot of manual work and custom infrastructure. It saves development time, keeps data updated automatically, and lets us focus more on our core application instead of maintaining scraping systems.

  ### 27. Reliable Google Scraper Actor for Automation Workflows

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is how easy it makes web scraping without needing to build everything from scratch. I use the Google Scraper actor as part of my n8n automation workflow, and it integrates smoothly — I just call the actor and get clean, structured data back that I can use directly in my automation. Setup was quick, and I didn't have to maintain any scraping infrastructure myself. The reliability and consistency of the results have made it a core part of my workflow. It's saved me a lot of development time and effort.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The only downside I've experienced is that the documentation could be a bit more beginner-friendly, especially for someone integrating Apify actors into external automation tools like n8n. It took me some trial and error initially to get the setup exactly right. Pricing for higher usage volumes could also be a consideration for smaller projects. That said, once everything is set up, it runs smoothly and reliably.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Apify, I struggled with building and maintaining my own web scraping scripts — handling proxies, rate limits, and anti-bot measures took a lot of time and constant maintenance. Now, I use Apify's Google Scraper actor as part of my n8n automation workflow, which handles the entire scraping layer reliably. This has resulted in significant time savings on development and maintenance, more consistent and structured data output, and a much more scalable automation workflow overall. What used to take hours of scripting and debugging now runs automatically and reliably in the background.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The store is the whole thing for me. I'm in sales, not engineering, and I had a working scraper running in about twenty minutes without touching code — searched Google Maps, picked the actor with the most runs, typed in a location and hit start. First usable CSV came out before I'd finished my coffee.

The part I didn't expect to care about is that it just handles blocked requests, retries and pagination on its own. I ran one job that pulled a few thousand records over an afternoon and never had to check on it. Output columns are consistent every run, so my contact sheet doesn't need cleaning up each time, and our developer wired the API into it in an afternoon so results land automatically now.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Pricing is the main one. It's usage based and I still can't tell what a run will cost before I start it — same actor, same search, different week, and the compute units come out way off. There's no estimate on the input screen and no warning while it's running. I got a couple of bills I wasn't expecting before I worked out to set memory and timeout limits on everything.

The other thing is that store actors go stale. Two I was relying on broke when the target site changed its layout. One got patched within a week, the other still comes back empty instead of throwing an error, which took me a while to even notice. You can see run counts and star ratings before you pick one, but not when it was last updated or whether it's currently working.

Docs are also written for developers. Plenty of Node examples, not much for someone who just wants to configure an existing actor.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prospect list building. I run corporate catering sales for a restaurant group, and finding the offices and hotels worth calling in our delivery area used to mean hours of copying from Google Maps by hand. It was painful enough that I'd put it off or only get halfway through, so a lot of the accounts in our catchment were never actually reached.

Now that's an afternoon instead of a project, and I'm working off a much bigger contact base than I'd have built manually. Early days still, but it's running at around two new corporate bookings a month off lists that started in Apify — small numbers, but those are bookings we wouldn't have had otherwise.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify has a clean and functional UI/UX that makes it easy to manage scraping tasks, especially through its dashboard and prebuilt Actors. While beginners may need some time to understand the workflow, the overall experience is well structured.
In terms of integrations, Apify works well with APIs, webhooks, and external tools, making it easy to connect data pipelines or export results to other systems.
Performance is generally strong, even for larger scraping jobs, and the cloud infrastructure handles scaling without requiring manual setup.
From a pricing and ROI perspective, it is reasonable considering the time saved from not having to build and maintain scrapers from scratch. It is especially valuable for teams that rely heavily on data extraction.
Support and onboarding are helpful, with documentation and examples that make it easier to get started. However, advanced use cases may still require some technical learning.
For AI / intelligence features, Apify is not primarily an AI tool, but it can be combined with AI workflows when processing scraped data.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

While Apify is a powerful platform, there are a few areas that could be improved. The learning curve can be steep for beginners, especially when working with custom Actors or advanced configurations. Some users may need time to fully understand the workflow and platform structure.
In terms of UI/UX, the interface is generally clean, but managing multiple complex scraping tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when handling many Actors at once.
It would also be helpful to have more beginner-friendly guides or simplified templates for common use cases to reduce setup time.
Overall, these are not major issues, but improving onboarding and simplifying some advanced workflows would make the platform even more accessible.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the problem of building and maintaining web scraping and automation infrastructure. Instead of developing custom scrapers from scratch, I can use prebuilt Actors or quickly create my own, which significantly reduces development time and effort.
It also handles scaling, scheduling, and running scraping jobs in the cloud, which removes the need to manage servers or infrastructure.
This benefits me by saving time, improving productivity, and allowing me to focus more on data usage and analysis rather than maintenance and setup. It is especially useful for repetitive data collection tasks and automation workflows.

  ### 30. Makes web scraping and automation genuinely easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through a business email account added to their profile

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The huge library of ready-made Actors is what sold me. Instead of building and maintaining custom scrapers for every site I need data from, I can usually find an existing Actor and have it running in minutes. Apify also handles proxy rotation and browser infrastructure automatically, which used to be the most time-consuming part of scraping at scale. The dashboard makes it easy to monitor runs, check logs, and debug failures, and scheduling plus API access plug straight into my existing automation workflows without extra glue code.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The credit-based pricing takes some getting used to, especially for heavier browser-automation jobs where it's not always obvious upfront how much a run will cost. Customizing an Actor beyond its default input settings, or building one from scratch, also has a real learning curve if you're not already comfortable with JS or Python.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Apify I was spending a lot of time building and maintaining one-off scrapers for general web scraping and automation tasks, which broke constantly whenever a site changed its markup. Now I lean on pre-built Actors for most of that work, so I get structured data reliably without babysitting scraper code, and I can schedule recurring jobs instead of running things manually. That's saved me a meaningful amount of time every week that I can put toward actually using the data instead of collecting it.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify Store & Pre-built Actors: The marketplace of pre-built Actors (scrapers for social media, search engines, e-commerce, etc.) saves a huge amount of setup time. You can start collecting structured data right away with zero coding required.

Developer Ecosystem (Crawlee & Apify SDK): When I need custom scrapers, the open-source Crawlee library and Apify SDK offer strong support for Playwright, Puppeteer, and Cheerio, along with built-in proxy rotation, fingerprint generation, and queue management.

Serverless Infrastructure: Being able to run scrapers in the cloud without managing VM instances, IP rotations, or Docker containers really streamlines the overall data pipeline.

Integrations & Webhooks: Native webhooks, automated scheduling, and straightforward integrations with platforms like Zapier, Make, and cloud databases (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, AWS S3) make downstream workflows feel effortless.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Pricing Complexity (Compute Units): At first, it can be hard to estimate Compute Unit (CU) consumption for long-running scrapers or complex, dynamic browser-based scraping. Setting firm usage limits is essential to prevent unexpected overages.

Learning Curve for Advanced Customization: Pre-built Actors are largely plug-and-play, but once you move into multi-step dynamic workflows or more complex headless-browser bypasses, the setup becomes more demanding. In my experience, it helps to have strong JavaScript/Node.js or Python knowledge to configure everything correctly.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify completely solves the operational burden of maintaining web scrapers, proxy pools, and headless browser infrastructure. It allows small teams and solo developers to collect large-scale, structured web data reliably without needing dedicated DevOps or data engineering staff.

  ### 32. User-Friendly Automation with Seamless Social Media Scraping at Scale

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify is very user friendly tool, and it has all the essentials to perform a automation on the fly
Like How easily it handles social media profile scraping for influencer marketing automation. Pulling creator data, follower counts, and engagement metrics at scale usually means dealing with constant IP blocks and broken scripts, but Apify’s pre-built Actors and built-in proxy rotation handle all the heavy lifting seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Calculating exactly how many compute credits a large profile-scraping run will consume takes a bit of trial and error until you get used to monitoring the usage logs.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It completely automated our influencer discovery and data collection workflow. Instead of manually auditing profiles or writing complex scrapers from scratch, we just connect Apify's API directly into our automation pipeline to feed clean creator data straight into our system.

  ### 33. Huge Time Saver for Automated Scraping and Data Collection

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The biggest thing for me is being able to automate scraping and data collection instead of doing it by hand -- that alone has saved a ton of time. I especially like how you can tailor Actors to your specific use case and then just pull the results straight into CSV or JSON without any hassle.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The flip side of having so many features is that it takes a little while to find your footing -- getting comfortable with how Actors are configured, how to read the logs, how everything fits together. A more beginner-friendly onboarding flow and clearer explanations when something goes wrong would make it a lot easier to get started.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solved a real problem for us -- manually pulling and organizing public info from multiple sites was just eating up too much time. Being able to automate that part of the process has freed things up enough that we can actually put that time toward analyzing the data or working on other projects instead.

  ### 34. Powerful, flexible and just works

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The combination of flexibility and reliability is what keeps me coming back. I can grab a ready-made actor from the marketplace and be collecting data within minutes, or build something fully custom when the use case demands it. Either way, the results are consistent and the output is clean and structured – ready to plug straight into my workflow without any cleanup. For someone running multiple automated pipelines across different sources, that kind of dependability is everything.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The learning curve when building custom actors can be steep if you're not comfortable with JavaScript or Python. It's not a dealbreaker, but newer users without a technical background might need some time to get past the basics. Better visual tooling or more guided templates for custom builds would make the platform accessible to a much wider audience.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Apify, monitoring job boards, discussion groups, and lead sources was eating 2-3 hours of my day. Now it runs automatically in the background and I check structured results in minutes. That time saving alone is significant, but the bigger benefit is speed – being first to spot and respond to new opportunities directly translates to more business won. On top of that, delivering automated data pipelines has become a service I actively offer to clients, so Apify went from being a personal productivity tool to a billable part of my work.

  ### 35. The best way to automate your business

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Huge Actor Store with ready-made scrapers for almost any site, so you rarely start from scratch. Clean, well-documented API and native n8n integration that make it easy to plug into automated workflows. Reliable runs, easy dataset exports (JSON, CSV, Excel) and pay-as-you-go pricing that works for small projects and scales as you grow.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Quality of third-party Actors varies, and some are poorly maintained or break when target sites change. Costs can add up quickly on high-volume scraping if you don't monitor usage. Building custom Actors requires some coding knowledge, so it's less accessible for non-technical users.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating my own business and increase my productivity

  ### 36. The scraping layer that makes my AI agents actually work

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The Actor Store is what gets me every time. I remember when I first needed Instagram data for an AI agent I was building, I was ready to spend weeks coding a scraper from scratch, dealing with proxies, anti-bot systems, the whole headache. Then I found Apify, searched the Store, found exactly what I needed, configured it in maybe 20 minutes, and the data was flowing into my n8n pipeline.
That's the thing that really stuck with me. As a solo developer running multiple projects at the same time, I can't afford to waste time reinventing the wheel. Apify basically handed me enterprise-level scraping infrastructure without asking me to become an infrastructure engineer first. The reliability is also something I genuinely appreciate, once an Actor is running on a schedule, it just works. Clean output, consistent delivery, no surprises. That kind of dependability is rare and it's what keeps me coming back.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The pricing model is honestly the biggest friction point. There are two layers, platform credits and per-Actor costs on top of that, and when you're just starting out it's not immediately obvious how fast things can add up. I had a couple of runs that burned through credits faster than expected because I didn't fully understand how a specific Actor charged per result. A clearer cost estimator before you hit run would save a lot of headaches.
The UI also has room to grow. It's functional, but debugging a failed run takes more clicks than it should. When something breaks mid-pipeline, I want to know exactly what went wrong without having to dig through logs manually. Better inline error reporting would make a real difference for developers running Apify in production environments.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem was data. My AI sales agent needed real Instagram data to function, and without a reliable way to collect it, the whole system just didn't work. I was either scraping manually, which doesn't scale at all, or looking at building my own scraper from scratch, which would've taken weeks and still probably broken every time Instagram updated something.
Apify solved that completely. Now the data flows automatically into my n8n pipeline, lands clean in Supabase, and my AI agents pick it up from there to qualify leads and trigger WhatsApp outreach sequences. The whole thing runs on its own.
In practical terms: what used to be a bottleneck that blocked the entire system is now something I don't think about anymore. I went from spending time fighting infrastructure to spending time improving the actual intelligence layer, the prompts, the logic, the client results. That shift alone is worth a lot when you're a solo developer trying to build something serious with limited time and resources.

  ### 37. Apify Makes Large-Scale Data Collection Fast, Reliable, and Easy to Manage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven W. | Business Owner / Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The biggest benefit for us has been the ability to automate large scale social media and web data collection without needing to constantly maintain custom scraping systems ourselves. We regularly use Apify for competitor monitoring, trend analysis, and collecting public engagement data, and it has reduced hours of manual research work each week.

The Apify Store is one of the strongest parts of the platform because many common scraping tasks already have ready made Actors available. Instead of building workflows from scratch, we can usually deploy and customise an existing Actor quite quickly. The scheduling system is reliable, data exports are straightforward, and integrating outputs into spreadsheets and reporting workflows is simple.

The interface is also much cleaner and easier to manage than many other scraping platforms we tested. Even for more advanced workflows, the dashboard makes it easy to monitor runs, troubleshoot issues, and manage datasets. Pricing can increase on larger projects, but for the amount of time it saves and the scale of data it allows us to collect, the ROI has been very good overall.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The only real downside we have found is that some community maintained Actors can occasionally break when websites change their layouts or anti bot protections. It is usually resolved quite quickly, but it does mean certain workflows sometimes need small adjustments or maintenance to keep them running smoothly.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the problem of manually collecting and organising large amounts of public web and social media data. It allows us to automate competitor monitoring, trend research, and data collection workflows that would otherwise take hours each week to do manually. This has improved efficiency, made reporting more consistent, and allowed us to analyse much larger datasets than would be practical with manual research alone.

  ### 38. The Ultimate Platform for Heavy-Duty Web Scraping, Anti-Bot Bypass, and Real-Time Data Pipelines

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo R. | Analista de datos, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is how seamlessly it brings together intuitive design, high-performance infrastructure, and cutting-edge data extraction. Right from the onboarding stage, the platform proved to be remarkably accessible; the UI/UX of the console is clean and well-structured, allowing our team to configure complex scrapers, inspect live datasets, and schedule jobs without unnecessary friction, all backed by excellent documentation and a fast, responsive technical support team.
In terms of raw performance and reliability, Apify completely stands out. When extracting complex real estate data from heavily protected platforms like Idealista, traditional scrapers fail against strict DataDome and Cloudflare defenses. Apify handles this effortlessly with its managed residential proxies, smart browser fingerprinting, and auto-scaling serverless compute, delivering near-100% success rates. This level of reliability has yielded a massive ROI for our business, eliminating the need for dedicated maintenance engineers and saving us thousands of dollars in infrastructure and development costs every month.
Finally, its ecosystem and integration capabilities are best-in-class, especially for modern AI workflows. Through its robust REST APIs, Webhooks, and the new Apify MCP Server, we can seamlessly pipe structured real-time web data directly into our databases and AI agents. It does not just scrape the web; it acts as an intelligent data layer that powers our downstream LLMs and valuation models with fresh, verified context

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

While Apify is an exceptional platform, there are a few minor areas with room for improvement. The primary challenge we have encountered revolves around real-time cost predictability during large, intensive crawling jobs. Because compute units and residential proxy bandwidth are consumed dynamically, an unoptimized run or an unexpected loop on a dynamic website can consume credits faster than anticipated. Having more granular, hard-stop budget limits per individual Actor execution—along with a live cost meter directly inside the console—would make financial forecasting much simpler.
Additionally, while the UI/UX is fantastic for developers and data engineers, the sheer depth of advanced parameters like memory allocation, concurrency controls, and proxy group configurations can create a slight learning curve for purely non-technical teammates. Lastly, while official Apify-maintained Actors are updated rapidly, the quality and maintenance frequency of third-party community Actors in the Store can vary, so having automated health status indicators or recent run success-rate badges directly on store listings would save valuable testing time.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify primarily solves the heavy operational burden and technical complexity of extracting data from strictly protected web platforms at scale. In our industry, accessing up-to-date real estate metrics from portals like Idealista was historically bottlenecked by aggressive anti-bot protections, frequent IP bans, and fragile scrapers that constantly broke with layout updates. Apify eliminated this friction entirely by providing a fully managed serverless infrastructure with built-in residential proxy rotation and automated browser fingerprinting. This has benefited our organization by saving dozens of engineering hours every week, allowing our technical team to stop fighting maintenance fires and focus entirely on core product development.
On a strategic level, Apify solves the problem of data latency by turning slow, manual market research into a reliable, automated intelligence pipeline. Through scheduled executions and seamless API integration, we can detect new property listings, monitor price reductions, and calculate rental yields the moment they hit the market. Delivering clean, structured datasets directly into our databases and AI workflows allows our automated valuation models and investment teams to operate with fresh, verified context, giving us a substantial competitive edge and accelerating our decision-making speed.

  ### 39. Apify’s Stable Actors Make Social Media Data Extraction Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like most about Apify is its exceptional ability to handle complex data extraction from dynamic social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X without constantly breaking.

Instead of dealing with the headache of changing web layouts and anti-scraping blocks yourself, Apify provides highly stable, ready-to-use "Actors" that deliver clean, structured data seamlessly. For anyone relying on real-time market research, the platform is a massive timesaver. It allows you to automate the tracking of competitor activity and consumer buying habits, turning raw web data into actionable business strategy effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

What I dislike most is the steep initial learning curve and the technical complexity required to configure advanced settings.

While the pre-built "Actors" are powerful, navigating the interface and fine-tuning configurations can involve a lot of trial and error if you aren't a seasoned developer. Additionally, because social media platforms like Facebook and X constantly update their layouts and anti-scraping measures, you occasionally have to deal with unexpected actor failures or spend extra time adjusting settings to keep your data pipelines running smoothly.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves the massive technical headache of manually tracking market dynamics and gathering web data at scale. Social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X constantly update their interfaces and enforce strict anti-scraping measures, which usually makes reliable data collection a nightmare to build and maintain from scratch. Apify completely removes this roadblock by providing stable, managed infrastructure and ready-to-use data extraction tools.

Here is how that directly benefits me:

Automated Competitive Intelligence: Instead of spending hours manually browsing competitor pages, Apify automatically maps out exactly what they are doing in real-time. This keeps me updated on the latest industry improvements without the manual effort.

Data-Driven Content & Product Optimization: By extracting trending data and tracking consumer behavior, I can see exactly what people are buying and talking about right now. This allows me to optimize my content strategy and align my products perfectly with current market demand.

Massive Time and Resource Savings: Because Apify handles the maintenance of the scraping pipelines, I don't have to constantly fix broken code whenever a social network changes its layout. This frees up my time to focus entirely on turning that raw data into actionable business growth.

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What sets Apify apart is how much it puts in one place. The actor marketplace means you're rarely starting from scratch — whether you need LinkedIn contacts, Google Maps data, or social media insights, there's almost always a ready-built solution waiting. It's easy to use, competitively priced, and reliable enough to make it a core part of our lead generation stack. For a small team, that combination is hard to beat.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The main frustration is inconsistent actor quality. Since anyone can publish an actor, the standard varies quite a bit

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify solves one of the biggest bottlenecks for a small growth team — getting quality data at scale without hiring dedicated resources or building fragile in-house scrapers. Before Apify, pulling lead lists, researching competitors, and enriching contact data was slow, manual, and expensive. Now it's fast, automated, and affordable. The result has been a 50–100% growth in our lead pipeline, 2–5 hours saved per week, and a cost saving of $500–$1,000 per month compared to alternative solutions. It has essentially levelled the playing field for us against much larger competitors.

  ### 43. Solid actor marketplace for scalable web scraping

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify is exceptionally well suited for structured B2B prospecting at scale. In my case, I need to verify hundreds of potential clients per month by cross-referencing data from public directories, company websites, and professional networks. Instead of having a junior researcher manually copy-paste information for hours, I can configure an Apify actor once and run it on a schedule.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

It's not the best fit for one-time research with unique parameters per query. The setup overhead doesn't justify the time savings if you're only scraping a handful of pages with irregular structures.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Apify to run specific actors that automate our B2B lead verification process. It helps us evaluate and validate potential clients at scale, saving hours of manual research. The main business problem it solves is reducing the time our team spends on prospect validation while improving data accuracy.

**Describe the project or task Apify helped with:**

Apify provides a platform for automating web scraping tasks using Actors, which are pre-configured scripts that can be customized to suit specific needs.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Apify makes it much easier to build and operate web scraping workflows without having to manage all the surrounding infrastructure yourself.

I particularly like the combination of Actors, scheduling, datasets, proxies and API access. The marketplace of existing Actors is also useful for quickly testing different approaches.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

As workflows become more complex, debugging and understanding resource consumption can require some attention. Community Actors also vary in quality and documentation.

**Recommendations to others considering Apify:**

To improve the experience, it would be beneficial to enhance the documentation and provide more detailed examples for complex workflows.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It removes a lot of the operational work involved in web scraping and lets me focus more on the actual application logic and use of the resulting data.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

Great reliable API for Instagram scraping
Pros: Extremely fast response times, high data accuracy, and easy API integration. Works smoothly even for larger profile workloads.
Cons: A bit pricey compared to self-hosted setups, though the quality justifies it.
Overall: I'm really satisfied with the results. If you need clean, reliable Instagram profile data without dealing with proxy headaches, Apify is worth every penny.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

A bit pricey compared to self-hosted setups, though the quality justifies it.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Apify’s Instagram API to process roughly 1000 profiles every month, and the speed and accuracy have been phenomenal. Before Apify, custom scrapers were constantly breaking due to rate limits, taking up 15–20 hours of engineering time every week just on proxy maintenance and repairs. Apify solved all of that with a 99%+ data delivery accuracy rate. It's slightly on the pricier side, but the speed, reliability, and hundreds of engineering hours saved make the ROI a no-brainer.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

I like how Apify connects easily to Claude code. It really saves me time by finding a list of prospects from Google Maps that I would otherwise have to locate manually. The user interface is easy to understand, making it simple to use, and the initial setup was very straightforward and impressive. The cost is also a lot better compared to other options I tried.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Sometimes when it's searching multiple areas, I get a lot of duplicates, which then I have to spend a lot more time going through and deleting.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify saves me time by automating the search for prospects on Google Maps, providing a quality list quickly and easily.

**What do you like best about Apify?**

It just does whats promised, for using the actors, integrating over mcp, documentations for easy access and learning, all does its best, i would say actors publised few sometimes feel below average or doesnt work, i would say more better modertation is needed or the team themself being among the contributors in building their own to show really makes impact i can say Yes it was completely worth it Yes it was completely worth it

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The quality of actors are sometimes not that great, need to have better actors or support

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the biggest headache of automation of scrapping datas from various sites, i am using actors to scrap job postings and find postings to apply as im searching phase

  ### 48. Best-in-Class Developer Experience and Support on the Apify Store

**What do you like best about Apify?**

I publish my own automation tools (Actors) on the Apify Store, and the developer experience is the best I've seen on a marketplace of this kind. Support is genuinely effective — real humans who solve the problem, and they even proactively doubled my daily publishing limit when I asked. The documentation walks you through every step of the process clearly, and their YouTube channel is full of best-practice walkthroughs whenever something is unclear. Scheduling, monitoring, proxies and MCP integration work out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

Honestly, very little. As a seller I would love richer earnings analytics in the API (today the detailed monetization numbers live only in the Console UI), and new accounts have a daily cap on how many Actors you can publish — though support raised mine quickly when I asked. Neither has stopped me from shipping.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify gives me the whole business infrastructure for selling data-extraction and monitoring tools: hosting, scheduling, billing, a storefront with real buyers, and pay-per-event monetization. Instead of building payments, infra and distribution myself, I ship an Actor and it is immediately runnable, schedulable and sellable. It turned side-project scrapers into a product line with zero infrastructure work on my side.

  ### 49. Apify Delivers a Fantastic Developer Experience with a Rich Actor Ecosystem

**What do you like best about Apify?**

What I like best about Apify is the overall developer experience. The platform has excellent documentation, a very good CLI, strong MCP support, and a huge ecosystem of ready-made Actors and integrations. It makes building scraping and automation workflows much faster compared to doing everything manually.

I also like how easy it is to experiment and build creative projects on Apify. The platform is flexible enough for both simple monitoring tasks and larger automation workflows. On top of that, the community and developer events around Apify are very active and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

One thing I dislike about Apify is the way Actor earnings and negative balances are handled for developers. Sometimes if one Actor goes into negative profit, it can affect overall earnings for a long time before adjustments are processed. I would prefer a shorter settlement cycle, like weekly instead of monthly.

Another issue is that some community Actors can vary in quality and reliability, so it occasionally takes time to find the best solution for a specific use case. Better discovery and quality ranking for Actors would improve the experience further.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apify helps us solve the problem of collecting and monitoring public feedback from many platforms in one automated workflow. We use it to track discussions, reviews, complaints, and sentiment from Reddit, Google Reviews, X (Twitter), Quora, Instagram, Threads, and Glassdoor.

Without Apify, this work would require a lot of manual searching and monitoring every day. With automation, we can find customer feedback faster, monitor competitor products more efficiently, and identify product issues earlier. This saves time, improves visibility into customer sentiment, and helps us make better product decisions.

  ### 50. Apify Is a Game-Changer for Automation: Huge Actor Store, Seamless API, Strong Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Apify?**

The Apify Store is a game-changer — thousands of ready-made actors mean I rarely have to build scrapers from scratch. The API integrates seamlessly into my n8n automation workflows, and the new MCP server support lets AI agents access scraping tools directly, which saves hours of manual work every week. Performance on large crawling jobs is consistently solid, and the documentation is thorough enough that onboarding is straightforward even for complex use cases. The AI/intelligence direction Apify is heading — especially with the MCP integration — makes it one of the most forward-thinking platforms in the automation space.

**What do you dislike about Apify?**

The pricing model can become costly quickly once you scale up — compute unit consumption adds up faster than expected, and there's no very affordable middle tier between the free plan and the paid options. This makes it harder to justify for smaller projects or budget-conscious teams. The UI could also be more intuitive; navigating between actors, runs, storage, and settings feels a bit fragmented at times, especially for new users. A cleaner dashboard overview and more granular cost monitoring per workflow would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

**What problems is Apify solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Apify, collecting data from websites required building and maintaining custom scrapers from scratch — time-consuming and fragile. Apify solves this by providing a reliable infrastructure for web scraping and browser automation that I can plug directly into my existing workflows. I integrate Apify via API into n8n to automate data collection pipelines that previously took hours of manual work. The MCP server integration is a particular game-changer: my AI agents can now trigger scraping tasks autonomously, extracting structured data from social media, e-commerce sites, and search engines in real time. This has reduced data collection time by a significant margin and allowed me to scale automation projects that simply weren't feasible before.
