## Altair Reviews
  ### 1. User Friendly Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Altair?**

User Friendliness for using software also we are getting knowledge of basics while using software

**What do you dislike about Altair?**

Old GUI are used in Altair Hypermesh, This needs to improve. Also Some Sort of automation possible while preprocessing.

**What problems is Altair solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Meshing And Solver deck preparation for FEA Analysis. Good Quality Meshing with reduced element count.

  ### 2. Just about does the job

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elenos P. | Application Support Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Altair?**

It has all the functionality that is needed from this kind of platform, but it doesn't go much more than that. All in all it is just a very average platform and meets all the basic requirments.

**What do you dislike about Altair?**

Its lay out and wording is for users with a finance background, general users struggle. Also, the UX is very poor, with multiple buttons that do the same job. This just confuses users.

**Recommendations to others considering Altair:**

If you are looking for an average and fair-priced platform it does the job, if you want to pay a bit more you can go to a slightly more expenses competitor.

**What problems is Altair solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, it helps with the ERP side of things, especially in the financial realm. Yet again it just about meets this, it doesnt go over and above in this department like some of the other alternatives.

  ### 3. Altair has the best CAE tools as per my experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you dislike about Altair?**

Optistrut solver can be upgraded like abaqus for non-linearity

**Recommendations to others considering Altair:**

Very easy to use, their ttutorials to learn the software are very good and easy to understand

**What problems is Altair solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Linear and non-linear simulations.
Hypermesh for prer-processing

  ### 4. Altair Support and Forum are Awesome!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerome T. | Research Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Altair?**

There are already a lot of the general questions that have been asked in the forums which will be very helpful if you just started.
However, if you need more profound insight, you can post a new question, I usually get the reply from experts within 1-2 days.
Also, you can create a case to request technical support, I got helped with all the experts worldwide, so it is a good software company I would say.

**What do you dislike about Altair?**

Nothing much I can dislike.
One thing, since some of the software, for example Altair Flux is commercial software, it is not too easy to customize.
I have some trouble when I want to introduce a new physics equation to include and compatible with the solver and computational process.

**What problems is Altair solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Flux as a process simulation tool for induction welding, especially for thermoplastic welding.
However, traditionally it is for conventional materials. Although we did not get to the point that we want yet, but so far the comparative results been really helpful to understand the insight.

  ### 5. Review on Altair products like Hypermesh/ optistrtuct etc

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohit M. | Assistant Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Altair?**

User-friendly tools provided by Altair are very effective and anyone can use this easily. Altair product has a wide range of applications irrespective of domain like mechanical / electrical / electronics etc . Also, Altair provides all the support learning material, student's edition license copy free of cost which enables everyone to learn effectively. Also once you understood the process you can apply this to any type of problem. Also, Altair has very good or we can say strong help portal where you can search for anything and you will get all kinds of help from there.

**What do you dislike about Altair?**

The file size is very large but this we can see in all kinds of products n the market. and this is not a major issue that can be manageable. But all other things are perfect.

**Recommendations to others considering Altair:**

You can use this for any kind of work education, research, or actual practical components. If you are a research scholar then you can request the research copy from Altair and they provide it to you. So if you are a students / research scholar or professional all kinds of personals cam use this for their domain. And you can learn this software from Altair university website.

**What problems is Altair solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Altair tools, one can solve any kind of problem with Altair starting from mechanical, civil, computer, electrical etc. I normally do static analysis, modal analysis, thermal, dynamic like stress analysis of mechanical components, modal analysis of bridges to calculate natural frequencies, CFD analysis of batteries, etc we can do with it.
