The core platform function is still useful. I like that you can feed a high volume of data sources into Alphasense and search across it, allowing you to go deep in a company or topic. Alphasense keeps acquiring their biggest competitors (Sentio, Tegus) and then gutting the product. Tegus was a fantastic standalone platform - BamSEC was an incredible product because it was simple and it just worked - but when AS acquired it, they didn't port over all the same useful features. Feels like they're trying to build an empire that can be broadly applicable to anyone in finance, and broadening the focus so significantly has diluted the core strength of the product.
