**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
When researching a company in a new industry or maintaining awareness in a followed industry, Stream saves a significant amount of time by sourcing quality interviewees. It has become a go-to source early in the research process for me.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
These are a bit nitpicky, but Stream could be better in a couple of areas. The first is better integration with other investing tools like BamSEC and other data analytics providers. The second would be better search results. For example, sometimes the search tool misses keywords, and sometimes I need to search around the exact keyword I want to find what I'm looking for. This doesn't often happen, though, and I am generally quite happy with the tool.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
If you are looking for data/insights to determine a company's next quarter, Stream is NOT for you. However, if you want a service and tool to quickly build industry awareness early in the research process, Stream is definitely for you.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Stream helps bring together industry participants to discuss current industry trends, future developments, and company-specific perspectives. Historically, this research step takes a great effort to curate the correct interviewees. Stream saves significant time by curating qualified interviewees and then providing tools to catalog and help find specific research items.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I like that I have the ability to do calls and read transcripts from other calls to learn unique insights about many companies and industries. Steam sources many excellent experts.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
My largest complaint is that sometimes the volume of experts sourced by Stream is not as high as I would like. In other words, I like the product and can not get enough of it.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
I recommend trying it and reaching out to Carrie to learn more.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
It provides a high quality library of expert network calls to help me get information from a wide variety of sources that I can piece together to make better investment decisions. It also sources experts for me to do calls that will end up in the library.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
My favorite part is the summaries. It allows me to digest a ton of information and screen which calls will be most helpful and relevant. Other services don't have this.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
My only concern is these services become table stakes for all analysts. Ie the extra benefit is no longer a benefit but a requirement. Even if so, its an incredible resource for learning quickly, which will always make my life as an analyst much easier.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
Strongly recommend, arguably my favorite resource out there.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
They help find amazing contacts and their analysts do a great on calls asking the important questions. I can schedule follow up calls to go deeper if i want. This makes my life easier as an analyst.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I like the volume of available expert calls and insights from the library. When I want to get up to speed, I can read or listen to 10-20 calls which help me get into the mindset of industry participants and help me ask better questions when conducting my investment underwriting process.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
The history of the library only goes back a couple of years (lacks some depth), the mobile app could work better (there are some minor UX/UI issues), I am not a huge fan of the sentiment analysis overlay generated by AlphaSense (just don't add value for me but doesn't necessarily detract).
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
Figure out how to use Stream as part of your investment process. It is best used in conjunction with standard fundamental work (Ks & Qs). It can certainly draw insights not available by just reading the SEC filings. Also figure out how to gauge the context from which each expert's perspective is derived. There is some clear bias from some experts but that doesn't mean their views don't have validity/signal.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Provides on-the-ground commentary from experts in any given company or industry. I use Stream as part of my research process when researching potential investments and staying up to speed on current trends in an industry I am familiar with.

All the information is collated in one place. You will get all the hits just by searching the keyword.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
The only drawback is that you get a limited downloadable target based on your subscription. That is why one should use it judicially.

Collating all the relevant data on a particular topic and deriving meaningful insights from them. It sure is beneficial.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I love how AlphaSense enables me to quickly and easily search for data from multiple sources, such as companies, research, the SEC, and the press. I appreciate the most, however, the ability to quickly share specific tables, charts, and paragraphs with colleagues and other stakeholders. AlphaSense makes it easy to pinpoint essential data and verify claims.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
When I search within a document, AlphaSense crashes and takes a long time to load. Additionally, I prefer to have the option to disable sentiment by default, since it takes a long time to load.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
With AlphaSense, I can quickly access large amounts of data and gain insights that would otherwise have been impossible. AlphaSense has enabled me to make informed decisions and uncover new growth opportunities.

The question of whether or not to pay for Stream comes down to your own personal budget and how much you value your time. I believe that you only get quality insights from having numerous conversations with people about a subject. Stream helps me in that sense because they have proven capable of sourcing numerous experts on a given subject/company and that expedites my research process. I can either very quickly pass on a company or go deeper in ways that were previously much slower.

It is primarily helping me to more efficiently allocate my time when it comes to research. I can quickly get up to speed on a business and go deeper when necessary.

I appreciate the ease of navigating the library, learning more about the companies in each industry, and the ability to download information for consumption on the go.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
It is occasionally difficult to understand the quality of an interview or the lens from which they are reporting. The contact cues are very important, as are the variety of insights around a company or sector. Hopefully they will interview more competitors and former employers.

Take advantage of the ability to request data coverage on a company.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Working in the startup space, there is a tremendous need for detailed information within the market research, product market and portfolio, and customer/supplier areas. Stream has built a massive library that's constantly updating with information for me to identify trends, learn the inner workings of companies, and develop investment theses on companies and sectors.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I like the AlphaSense interface and how user-friendly it is. I also appreciate the search parameters that can be modified to meet my needs as a researcher (for example, boolean searching and intelligent searching). It's great that the outcomes are highlighted for convenience of reference. The team behind this resource is accessible and always open to user feedback, which is fantastic. And finally, I love that you can export financial data tables from AlphaSense - hopefully, this will be available for Canadian banks too!
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
What I dislike about AlphaSense is that finding trustworthy information can be difficult due to the abundance of available resources. However, this is ultimately more of a benefit than a drawback because the AlphaSense team is always willing to provide a demonstration if you have any questions about the platform or any of its features.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
The search function on AlphaSense is beneficial for finding information about businesses. I can easily find what I'm looking for, whether it's current or historical management commentary or specific report numbers. Additionally, I can save reports for later use and download data for use in Excel. All of these functions are quick and easy to carry out.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
The curated newsfeed is like having a superpower at work where every competitor's maneuver is in your inbox as soon as the press release drops. It's a breeze to use and so helpful in scanning financial filings.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
It's a bit of a struggle the one area they don't really blow the competition out of the water is their profiles on private companies can sometimes be a bit less robust than other platform like Pitchbook or Factset, but I'm sure they are actively working to improve this functionality.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Alphasense is helping us maintain our strategic edge, it helps us identify trends within our competitors, identify new partnerships that may require strategic action and help us move to a more proactive way of managing strategy.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
Being able to read transcripts from other analysts gives insights not only into answers but into questions. Also, enables efficiency of being able to find the most relevant transcripts and read them prior or potentially instead of talking to the experts.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
I think they are great. I hate managing the scheduling part, but Stream is very helpful in doing it for me. They also do preliminary expert screening which saves time.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
I recommend AlphaSence - really saves time and gives another perspective on prospective or existing investments. I found it to be an important part of my research process.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Learning about insider's perspectives on company strategies, implementation and skill set of the management teams. Performing channel checks. Getting up to speed on an industry and keeping informed about the latest issues in the industry. Able to find both strategic and technical talent that help form a view of what happens with the company with specific positive or negative scenarios.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
Stream helps give me a clearer view of reality in terms of a company's underlying drivers and what is happening under the hood. This is very different from reading what a journalist or Wall Street analyst has to say, which is often biased, filtered, and incomplete. I can see why Goldman Sachs is an investor.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
There's nothing that comes to mind. I'm excited to see what Stream comes up with next in terms of new functionality and other improvements.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
You're at a disadvantage from an investment standpoint if you aren't utilizing Stream. You'll be surprised by the wealth of information, search functionality, ease of use, and quality of the experts that the company sources.

Relying on secondhand information is dangerous. Stream helps me to conduct effective primary research.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
What I truly like about Stream by Alphasense is the very broad range offered in terms of not only tickers/industry covered but also in terms of the experts' backgrounds.
The Stream by AlphaSense team is super responsive and resourceful when I request a specific expert profile - even for the most niche companies - they always deliver.
Stream by AlphaSense has become an essential part of my research process and an extremely valuable tool to generate new investment ideas.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
Honestly I struggled a bit with the search function when I started using Stream by Alphasense - but this was with the old version of the platform. The new and current platform has a completely different search function that is capable of understanding different nuances, which is very useful when I am researching companies in complex fields like pharma and biotech.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
I have used a wide range of expert networks over the last years as part of my research. Other than the prohibitive cost of a single expert call, the quality of the experts was very hit-and-miss and usually the scope of what the experts were truly knowledgeable about was pretty limited - which meant that multiple calls were required to properly cover a specific area. Stream by AlphaSense basically solves all of these problems at a fraction of the cost.

Relevant, quality results. I appreciate the sophisticated search functionality. I also really like the preview of each result without needing to download to view and search the report. The positive/negative connotation feature is also extremely helpful for earnings transcripts. Love the keywords hits that direct me to the relevant pages to minimize scrolling.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
When I receive the automated emails pertaining to my saved searches, I often end up with the same headline repeated over and over and over in one email (different articles from different searches, but SAME headline). e.g., Shell Partners with XYZ on XYZ Project. The email will come to me with that same headline repeated 10 times from 10 different sources. Suppose it's good to know that many sources are talking about same headline, but if there were some way that it could be bucketed... e.g., Headline X and there are 10 different places to read about it. Would like for Alphasense to open up doors to additional research subscriptions. e.g., if you are an Alphasense member, you can access a certain number of BNEF reports per month as a subscription benefit. Expanded access to premium content in Energy sector would continue to be huge benefit!
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Improving our research process. Alerts us on topics we are tracking which saves time in running searches elsewhere or monitoring 10 other platforms. Reducing time to find the information needed. Very helpful in competitive analysis / peer monitoring with the sentiment and key word abilities in earnings transcripts and reports. I really need to get our own Teams content integrated to the platform soon... would be huge boost in value!

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I have been using Alphasense for the past 4 years and have never looked back! I love that I can quickly search for a specific topic related to a particular company/stock. I also appreciate the analyst reports, and I like the newly added feature of the expert calls!
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
Sometimes the pages take a long time to load, and the search button within a text sometimes doesn't work correctly. Also, I don't particularly appreciate when there is a limit on the page you can read/download.

I am more productive because It's making my research process faster as I don't have to sort through lots of pages that are not relevant to me. Accessing the analyst reports has also allowed me to deliver extra content to senior managements

There is no concrete evidence that AlphaSense produces better results than other search engines. Also, the software may be expensive, limiting its use to only those who can afford it.

Honestly, while this is a tech company, it is a relationship business. I was honestly pretty hesitant initially, but the service has been top-notch, and the quality of the experts is just as good if not better, than other networks.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
I wish Stream had better expert coverage outside of the United States, especially in Asia. Non-English speaking experts can't have calls transcribed, so this isn't a strategic fit.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
I think it's a no-brainer to use Stream. After their acquisition by AlphaSense, the underlying technology has improved a lot, and I believe they are not just a technology leader but a terrific partner for my research process.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Expert networks are opaque and wasteful as the call is typically a 1x1 relationship. Stream does a great job increasing transparency through its library while also making calls available at a price point that makes expert calls far more accessible earlier in the research process. Rather than compromise on just doing a few calls, I can get up to speed quickly and dive in on topics earlier.

We are just starting to look into emergent and secondary market research, which is not directly related to our needs.

It is a challenge to keep up only with UI when it changes frequently and frequently. You enjoy a few of the new features, but you want others.

Stream's best feature is the summary and table of contents at the beginning of each transcript. This allows me to quickly figure out if the transcript is relevant to me and skip to the relevant parts.

One functionality I would like would be the double click a part of the transcript and have the audio begin playing there. Currently, there is no way to navigate the audio recording efficiently - I just can guess where I am in the transcript.

AlphaSense smart searches are far superior to competitors. Also the access to all sellside content in one place is very convenient. Email alerts are also part of my daily workflow.

I think there are a few UI frictions that could be ironed out (certain broker notes don't load well, or download as PDF correctly, etc.). Sometimes searches that go back several years seem to be missing content.

Having a single workspace to view research, company docs, filings, and news in one place has made AS one of my top two programs I use for equity research. Very helpful!

I'm responsible for keeping on top of news headlines and analyst reports in my industry. The quantity of news and reports can be overwhelming at times and AlphaSense helps me filter the most important items.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
Getting acclimated to all the functions and features takes time. However, both the sales and support team are great at answering any questions I have!
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
See point 1: Too much "market noise" in terms of information, news, and reports. AlphaSense does a great job helping me filter unimportant "noise".

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
AlphaSense has three distinct aspects that I really enjoy/appreciate. The first, is the power of the search capabilities in being able to efficiently deliver on-target search results. Second is the breadth of information sources. The third builds on the two prior points and is the ability to deliver real-time alerts on companies and topics of interest.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
There have been times when I felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information I received and have been challenged to navigate the site/selection criteria. Both issues were relatively easily resolved, in part due to the great user support the platform offers.
**Recommendations to others considering AlphaSense:**
I have used and demoed various information sources/providers and found AlphaSense to be one of the most efficient platforms with one of the broadest sets of information sources.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
As part of my job, I research different types of cancer, including drugs in development and those commercially available, clinical trials, and companies developing these drugs and sponsoring these clinical trials. The platform can efficiently provide refined and high-quality search results relating to my queries.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
I work in the competitive intelligence function and I particularly use the analyst research reports and the feature in alpha sense allows for scanning through key words pertaining to our business. Instead of manually reading through several reports, the AI-based text, positives and negatives feature helps with saving time to scan across major industry conference presentations. I am looking forward for the earnings transcript calls. The team was also very helpful to help set up my dashboards. The platform is very intuitive
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
Not all brokerage research was available to me and this had to be manually added in several cases. Alphasense should also work with vendors such as Frost & Sullivan and Science and medicine syndicated research service providers to provide more market research related reports in one place. This can offer a comprehensive view for market researchers.

Consider taking a relook at broker coverage and ensure the analysts covering your industry and showing in your account.

Speed to analyze data has been very helpful. Helps tracking market share for our products.

Centralization of company-published documents

The smart search capabilities are still somewhat in development- i.e., Google's search can often generate more relevant content, but it's way better than a strict logical search.
The company and search alerts (email) aren't very well targeted yet. Part of this is user error- I haven't spent much time refining the alerts- but I suspect many people would not. I mostly delete the emails

Replace your Capital IQ subscription with AlphaSense and save money

General market research, competitive intelligence, and specific fact finding

AlphaSense enables a) current and potential investors to make better investment decisions; and b) corporate employees and their advisors to improve corporate performance.

I don't dislike anything. AlphaSense continues to develop their product to make it easier to use and with more functionality.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
AlphaSense enables corporate employees and their advisors (management consultants, investment banks, lenders, rating agencies, ESG, etc.) to remain informed real-time about how customers, suppliers, and competitors are performing; how their short- and long-term outlooks are changing; and if the reasons for their changes in outlook are due to macro factors or to changes in their own products, services, and costs. This enables the AlphaSense user to be of significantly increased value to their company's sales/marketing, procurement, operations, strategic planning, budgeting/forecasting, M&A, and relations with equity and debt investors, banks, and rating agencies.
AlphaSense enables current and potential investors and their advisors (research analysts, rating agencies, proxy advisors, etc.) to remain advised of and quickly locate all statements made by companies, competitors, supply chain participants, and research analysts that impact valuation models. This results in better investment decisions and management meetings where more useful information is obtained. AlphaSense is equally valuable in helping investors to improve their voting decisions about ESG items.

**What do you like best about AlphaSense?**
We love the vast amount of high-quality research that Alpha Sense brings to our market intelligence team. And it's not just research that focuses directly on our markets but also on ancillary and emerging markets that we are just beginning to investigate. The price point for this subscription is very competitive, and we have found nothing out there like it in the market.
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
One of the strengths of Alpha Sense is perhaps also a weakness - there is just so much information that it's not always easy to find what you are looking for, despite the AI search engine, which does make searches more intuitive.
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Our core backbone of market intelligence we obtain from other vendors often does not have the information we need for our marketing and R&D teams that are engaged in creating products and services for new markets and applications. For these kinds of market intelligence challenges, we turn to Alpha Sense. We value the breadth of research and sources, some well-known (i.e., Morgan Stanley, Bank of America) and others that are smaller boutique firms.

Very advanced AI technology that allows you to search for the keywords you want from analyst reports, & market studies, including synonyms; also a great thing is that search can be conditional/correlational, (e.g. search for subject X given condition or context of B), this makes sure all results are relevant
**What do you dislike about AlphaSense?**
A little bit less layers of the UI would be helpful - right now the UI is very document viewer like and content-heavy, feels like a legal search software, but that is expected given the nature of the software; could have aligned a bit more with financial software like factset
**What problems is AlphaSense solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Primarily use with market research to get data points and commentary about specific products we are studying; it is helpful for us to quickly navigate what we want

The interface is excellent. The PDF search tools are extremely valuable given so many reports needed for access are pdfs.

Setting up the alerts function is not entirely intuitive. For existing alerts, it is difficult to modify, rather than deleting and creating from scratch
