What is Ahrefs, and what problem is it built to solve?

Ahrefs is an all-in-one SEO toolset built to help grow search traffic and optimize websites. It makes web data available through a straightforward interface for SEO research and analysis.

What languages does Ahrefs support?

Ahrefs supports 13 languages: Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, English, French, and German, among others.

What company sizes and industries is Ahrefs the best fit for?

Ahrefs appears to fit a range of organizations, with positive reviewer profiles clustering most around smaller and mid-sized businesses and marketing- and technology-related industries.
  • Company size — Small businesses: The most represented segment, including organizations with 50 or fewer employees.
  • Company size — Mid-market: Also strongly represented, including organizations with 51–1,000 employees.
  • Industry — Marketing and advertising: A prominent segment among positive reviewers.
  • Industry — Information technology and software: Another well-represented group.
  • Industry — Market research and online media: These also appear among the more common segments.

How long does it take to implement Ahrefs across a team?

Ahrefs is often quick to get started with, with setup commonly taking less than a day. Longer implementations are also reported, particularly when a team’s rollout involves more setup or coordination.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Less than 1 day Most common
Less than 1 month Also reported
1–3 months Less common
3–6 months Occasional
More than 12 months Rare

What customer support options does Ahrefs provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Ahrefs provides support through chat, email/help desk, phone support, and self-service resources such as its knowledge base and FAQs/forum. The support experience is mixed: users describe helpful, responsive assistance, while others report slow replies or difficulty getting account issues resolved.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Ahrefs from another tool?

Switching to Ahrefs has often meant moving from tools such as Semrush, Moz, Mangools, and Ubersuggest for more detailed SEO data, stronger backlink research, broader capabilities, or a cleaner interface. Users describe finding richer competitor and keyword insights in one place, though the transition can still involve learning the platform and getting used to its plans and usage limits.

What features or capabilities could make Ahrefs even more useful?

Ahrefs could become more useful with stronger guidance and flexibility in areas that users want to handle directly in the platform.
  • Improve AI visibility and optimization guidance, including clearer recommendations for improving performance in AI search.
  • Expand keyword research with deeper coverage, more filtering, and more dependable ranking and volume updates.
  • Make reporting more customizable, with easier exports and client-ready or branded reports.
  • Strengthen local SEO tools for location-based keyword trends and rankings.
  • Offer more flexible usage limits so intensive research and audits are easier to manage.

How useful do Ahrefs users find its AI features in everyday use?

Ahrefs’ AI features are useful to some users for exploring AI search visibility and supporting content work, but the experience is mixed, with concerns about accuracy and the maturity of some insights.
  • AI writing and content assistance: Includes text generation, summarization, and content ideas.
  • Answer Engine Optimization: Includes AI mention tracking, AI search ranking insights, and AI visibility reporting.
In everyday use, users value AI visibility data and suggestions that can speed up research or content planning. However, they also describe inconsistent tracking and recommendations that may need review, so these features are better treated as inputs to SEO work than as a substitute for judgment.

What do you like best about Ahrefs?

Brand Radar Report and the AI Data. Including competitor analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ahrefs?

For large groups, I’ve found that the setup time and grouping capabilities are somewhat limited. A more robust API for bulk creation would also be a nice-to-have. Aside from that, I’m really loving it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI, Comprehensive SEO Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ahrefs?

I really like Ahrefs' simple user interface. Even though it's visually simple, it can do many things without having to click through lots of drop-downs or menus. It helps me see the insights readily at hand, and they don't make it complex to find important insights. In fact, they actually give me shortcuts to find the relevant insights for my client sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ahrefs?

Sometimes, Ahrefs runs maintenance work ad hoc, and I feel like if these could have been moved to a more quiet time, something that doesn't affect my time zone, which is UTC plus eight or Singapore time, that'd be really great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
