The UI is ugly, it is not good, when comparing with other ide, I think developer may need pay more attention to the ui design. The user experience is very important for each software.
other dislike part. there is a lack of versatility install and many fantastic small functions. Some other other editors like sublime text 3, atom (and even for a certain period of time brackets) so popular.

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

It's anything but difficult to take a thought from origin to execution and has definitely less requirements and obstructions to passage contrasted with a normal web stack. Basically utilizing IIS and SQL Server, a little organization can rapidly and moderately essentially meet a large portion of their managerial side web needs and maybe even actualize customer confronting locales if the necessities are not very vigorous. The ColdFusion sentence structure auto-complete is the most strong of any supervisor I've utilized. The inline blunder linting is additionally genuinely precise and supportive; more than I've encountered with different editors for CFML.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

It is situated on less servers.First thing permit is particularly costly and it will consume moderate room to introduce it in a system. If some body has been working with heritage forms additionally than they can recognize what's going on inside however 10 and 11 renditions are abnormal state yet it is great here and there and not useful for another way.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

It's progressively similar to ColdFusion isn't going to be your dialect of decision yet it is worth to learn and work if the association is ColdFusion based. The compensation of CFML engineer is likewise very great too.Just bounce in and begin utilizing ColdFusion. It rushes to convey and learn. In the blink of an eye, you will stunning web applications!

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compelling reports by state,Video entryway with live digital TV and streaming,Platform that organizations and customers can use to team up on line on innovative works, Video assets for instructors. The past organization is running different web applications with ColdFusion including internet learning stage and coordinations framework. These task fulfills the time constraint and the necessities.

  ### 10. ColdFusion Builder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan S. | Senior Web Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2017

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion Builder has great insight when creating code. ColdFusion Builder also offers a Debug tool built in. The Intelligent code assist is great when referencing functions inside of objects., Built into the tool is the ability to track all of the tasks you still have left to do. For an example, in the code, you can put TODO's and FIX ME so you will be able to see them in a list of tasks in the Task Panel. You can also your own custom keyboard shortcuts to help you accomplish tasks more quickly. Another nice feature is you can keep a copy of your most common snippets so that you can not have to retype them over and over again. For the code snippets, you can also put in some trigger text so that when you type the trigger text and hit the tab button it will input the text from the snippet. This is an excellent addition.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Due to the product based on Eclipse the same errors that can happen with Eclipse shows up in ColdFusion Builder. Even though it has a code formatting function I tend to not like the results I get.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

This is the first tool I have recommended using at the last few jobs I have worked at. Since it came out it has only gotten better. It is the IDE tool to have for working with ColdFusion.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is the tool for building business applications.and I have used it at several jobs to quickly complete my tasks.

  ### 11. Not for Newbies

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela V. | Registrar and Data Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Allows us to extract data from our database as needed. It works well for doing basic report writing.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

There are limits to how much can be done without a solid understanding of SQL. This is not a tool for someone with limited report-writing experience.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

A strong understanding of SQL is very important for doing anything beyond very basic reports.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is the report writing software for our student database. It adds stronger report generation than we have with the original software.

  ### 12. A Solid CF IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel G. | Senior Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2017

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion Builder has great code hints when developing. Since it is built on top of Eclipse, I also appreciate how you can utilize those plugins in the program. With the latest 2016 version, it also offers a great way of scanning your code for security.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

It is not as fast when compared to other text editors like Sublime. Because it is based on Eclipse, it also feels a little clunky when compared to new editors.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

The security scanning features in 2016 are definitely worth checking out.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use ColdFusion Builder for the integrated security scanning as well as the ability to manage resource bundles using the ResourceBundle Editor plugin.

  ### 13. Buggy, takes time to load

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2017

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

I like the fact that it comes with Intellisense and also the ability to configure servers and test out the codes directly in the IDE. It also comes tightly integrated with the ColdFusion. Step-through debugging is also another interesting feature.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

There is a lot not to like here, ranging from being buggy, lags, very slow often times and Adobe not being interested in the product. And also when the lines of code are 1000 and above, it misbehaves or hangs. The Intellisense sometimes misstates the wrong syntaxes.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

VS Code and CF Plugins, Eclipse

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintaining legacy applications written in ColdFusion.

  ### 14. Web Application Development made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yashas J S. | Graduate Student Intern, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

PDF generating feature is possible without any additional coding and such a document can be sent to another client or saved on the disk. It also comes up with Apache Tomcat server built-in.
Developers can easily publish their ColdFusion component as a Representational State Transfer (REST) Web service with built-in support for all HTTP methods, along with JSON and XML serialization and de-serialization. Hence it is great for small mobile apps with limited functionality.
Newer versions come up with language enhancement help in readability and code quality.
Adding social network features on the website is pretty coll feature.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Use of tricky syntax probably difficult for programmers
Quite a lot of bugs, often crashes.
It has a very small talent pool compared to other tools.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Futuristic technologies that deliver high-performing applications and first-in-class user experiences using unique HTML5 integration.
Developers can build applications quickly using language enhancements and enhanced scripting support that help in building complex logic into fewer lines of code.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem was to connect the HTML with the databases using simple tools that is easy to understand and comprehend. ColdFusion provided an IDE as well as a scripting language in realizing this.

  ### 15. Coldfusion is a simplified approach to web solutions with severe limitations.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony K. | Senior Web Developer/Proposal Support, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

It's very easy to take an idea from inception to execution and has drastically fewer prerequisites and barriers to entry compared to an average web stack. Simply using IIS and SQL Server, a small company can quickly and relatively simply meet most of their administrative side web needs and perhaps even implement client facing sites if the requirements are not very vigorous.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Coldfusion is old. There are many alternatives that do what it does and do it better. In a legacy environment at a small non technical firm it can often still make sense. That is why I don't say that it is completely obsolete. But it is limited. Time and again I find myself working around what it can't do or altogether having to abandon ambitious features that could only be implemented in a more robust environment. I would never recommend it to a company that is just beginning development of a modern website.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Find a more robust product. The days of ColdFusion are over and you will thank me that you avoided it.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am implementing standard web features on a legacy site that lacks them. I'm also adding additional reports and CRUD(create, read, update, delete) pages with very little in the way of business intelligence. Our goal is to move beyond the basic needs into a sphere where we could provide usable advantages in a proactive way but that will be phase 2.

  ### 16. There are Better ColdFusion Editors (Review of ColdFusion Builder not ColdFusion Application Server)

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

The ColdFusion syntax auto-complete is the most robust of any editor I've used. The inline error linting is also fairly accurate and helpful; more than I've experienced with other editors for CFML.

Version 3 was much easier to install and set up than the previous versions. It's built for ColdFusion developers, so if that's strictly what you're working on, it offers more features than you're gonna find elsewhere and doesn't require the customization that other editors do to support ColdFusion.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

It's an IDE. I prefer a code editor. That's really what it comes down to.

It's ugly, bloated (the download is massive), and limited in use outside of strictly ColdFusion projects.

It lacks the speed, customization, versatility, and many of the fantastic little features that make editors like Sublime Text 3, Atom (and even for a period of time Brackets), so popular.

The PhoneGap integration seems super out of place.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

1) Realize that most of the reviews here (as of 9/30/2016) are for ColdFusion Application Server, and not ColdFusion Builder.

2) Take a look at code editors, such as Sublime Text 3 and Atom. There are CFML packages that provide some pretty great features. (for example, https://github.com/jcberquist/sublimetext-cfml)

Also, keep in mind that the newest version of Dreamweaver appears to be bringing back ColdFusion syntax support.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a tool to make ColdFusion development as fast and easy as possible. I originally developed in Dreamweaver, but it dropped support for ColdFusion syntax auto-complete (and crashed so frequently).

I tried CF Builder, which does retain much of the experience from Dreamweaver. However, I've found that Sublime Text 3, with the CFML package, ultimately offers a better development experience.

  ### 17. very good programming tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandro B. | Auxiliaire d'enseignement, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

without being well known, Cold Fusion is an excellent tool for developing web applications. It is a scripting language, like ASP, but much simpler to use and learn, and tag-based structure is very familiar to people accustomed to HTML.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

It is located on fewer servers.

The only problem there is with this wonder is that even though some of the great use it is present in very few servers, because of cost it is much higher than php or ASP (both free)

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

the latest version includes interesting features such as: Server Monitor, generation and interaction with documents and forms in PDF format, integration with .NET and Microsoft Exchange Server, including several very interesting to use

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The principal advantage of ColdFusion is rapidly build large and complex web applications. As a result, we obtain a high increase in productivity of the company.

  ### 18. Mark-up language that makes web development easy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aung Thu Rha H. | Senior Security Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Tag based development is the key component that makes developer to learn ColdFusion easier with a small learning curve. Adobe ColdFusion Builder provides all the language specific features required for the developers. Also, every new version releases come up with the supports of latest web technology.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Lack of solid frameworks is the first thing that let me down. Also, license is expensive and also IDEs. It's still buggy and have to download update patches to solve the issue. Also, market demand for CFML developers is lower than PHP or Python.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

It's more like ColdFusion is not gonna be your language of choice but it is worth to learn and work if the organization is ColdFusion based. The salary of CFML developer is also quite good too.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The previous company is running various web applications with ColdFusion including online learning platform and logistics system. These project meets the deadline and the requirements.

  ### 19. Powerful features without addons

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

The best part of ColdFusion, in my opinion, is the fact that it works out of the box with so many features. You don't have to install an extra library just to get PDF reports. Its built-in. Same for ajax, forms, remote protocols, and more.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

The cost to get any version beyond standard is a bit pricey, but if you compare the overall cost vs free options that then require you to purchase extra libraries, the cost becomes a bargain.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Just jump in and start using ColdFusion. It is quick to deploy and learn. In no time, you will amazing web applications!

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid development with robust features. That is where ColdFusion shines. I 100% am better with ColdFusion.

  ### 20. Still simple and useful but might be dying

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roman S. | President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

I love ColdFusion syntax. I've been working with it for about 10 years, and I think it's very easy to read and quick to develop new things.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

The industry has a negative view on the language for some reason, most likely from way back when it was so easy to use that a lot of non-developers started using it for development and ruined the reputation. There are probably better lower cost alternatives available today, but it's still an amazing product, although the latest version has been getting some bad press.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Node.js and Angular.js would be pretty awesome to use as a back-end and front-end tools. Many ColdFusion developers have switched to Ruby on Rails.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been able to single-handedly develop an scoring system to run major golf tournaments in ColdFusion with SQL Server. It's very quick to get new concepts developed. Many advanced tasks like PDF creation and parsing can be done with just one line of code.

  ### 21. Coldfusion and the Modern Web

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Coldfusion, is one of the oldest web development platforms available. It is not only a jack of all trades, it's a master of many as well.

It's owned by Adobe, which gives it excellent document processing abilities. Think PDF creation. It handles MS Excel creation as well.

It integrates nicely with the latest technologies. For example I use it seamlessly with Amazon S3 storage, to read and write. Use it with the latest Bootstrap releases and it plays nicely living on the same server with PHP on my Linux boxes. Handles JSON, XML in and out. I use it to consume and publish APIs from a variety of sources.

While I don't use these now, I have used it in the past as an FTP server, POP, IMAP, client and more.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

With less people using it these days, it could be harder to get support for advanced usage, however there are plenty of large legacy apps still in us at large organizations and educational institutions.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Coldfusion does everything I need. I serve several large and medium sites with it. There are still Coldfusion jobs out there. If it's you're only language, you're going to have a problem, otherwise an invaluable tools once given the opportunity to impress.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, CF is great for rapid prototyping. I can put together a fully-featured application without having to use several tools.

  ### 22. Best RAPID APP Tool in market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kona Laxman D. | Lead Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2015

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

As technology growing day by day so parallel tools also providing more comfortability to the end users.I Like best things in this is Robust caching and publish a component as REST service.Boost performance by caching portions of pages with infrequently updated data, and improve custom handling of region-specific data by creating multiple cache regions on the fly. Improve server performance by sparing server resources through a parallel caching process and advanced caching libraries.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

First thing licence is very much expensive and it will take moderate space to install it in a system. If some body has been working with legacy versions also than they can know what happening inside but 10 and 11 versions are very very high level but it is good in some way and not good for another way.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Its a quick rapid application development tool.ColdFusion Mobile Platform is great for quick, small mobile apps that do not need a lot of functionality.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Effective reports by state,Video portal with live cable TV and streaming,Platform that agencies and clients can use to collaborate on line on creative works, Video resources for instructors.

  ### 23. Quick and easy database-connected web development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allan J. | Project Manager, Law Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2015

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion allows for rapid development of database-driven websites. All the functions of a CRUD app with design and functionality can be developed quickly and easily. There is a short learning curve for the language which is nice.

I like the ability to create ColdFusion components that you can re-use among your applications. The ColdFusion scheduler is nice too for scheduling processes.

There are many features that I haven't even used but know they are there if I need them.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Cost and availability. I have wrote some pretty nice applications that I couldn't sell to others because of the platform.

New developers coming into our team usually do not know the language.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to create a site quickly and get the users to managing their data. The product has been around for a long time and is supported with frequent upgrades.

The search engine works for us.

  ### 24. A good solution for the web designing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandip D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

The good markup language for the great Web designing.
It also providing the enterprise leval using LDAP and other connectivity features which healps the organization to improve security. A client side validation. And word to pdf is best.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

ide is not as good as the other ide in the market and make the life hard to deploy.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for the software and Application development using the ide and one of the best solution for the web and development.

  ### 25. Program for Creating Web Apps

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion allows for rapid development of database-driven websites. There is a short learning curve for the language which makes it a breeze.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

The cost is extremely high and the language is fairly unknown to new developers.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

The community is not very active so you may need to look elsewhere if you need heavy support. The language is also fairly hard to learn.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a website where users can easily manage date in a fast and efficient way.

  ### 26. 15 years building Enterprise Solutions with ColdFusion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian M. | Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Creating a proof of concept application is a breeze, using either procedural or OO coding styles. Using a mature MVC framework like ColdBox with its related testing and mock up tools, it's quite easy to build extremely secure applications of any size. The latest versions of ColdFusion include native functionality to sanitize user input, secure against Cross-Site Scripting attacks and protect against the rest of OWASP Top Ten list. Connecting to various databases, cloud services and other systems are relatively easy.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

The native functions to create UI controls and JavaScript form validation should never be used. There are much more mature JavaScript libraries that can handle that type of functionality very easily. They need the ability to disable groups of functionality like those at the server level.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

1. Run through the tutorials at http://learncfinaweek.com/.
2. Look into the ColdBox MVC framework http://www.coldbox.org/.
3. There is a lot of FUD spread about ColdFusion. If someone hasn't used the product in the last five years and have never used it in an enterprise environment, they have no real basis for comment.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have built N-tier web application with ColdFusion for many lines of business including Securities, Travel Reservation, Language Management, Inventory Management, Document Management, Auto Insurance (Claims, Payments, etc.), 401k Plan Management, K - 12 Testing and Real Estate / Foreclosure Workflow Management. I have used it to solve problems from integrating with multiple payment processors to applying complex pricing algorithms across large inventories to automating banking and government workflows related to residential properties. It's been my experience that teams using ColdFusion can deliver secure and accurate applications more quickly than comparable teams using other technology stacks (e.g. Java, PHP, .NET).

  ### 27. Long time CF developer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitai A. | Founder, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Colfusion allows for a quick turnaround to any project. The platform has been around for a long time, and while there have been some misconception about it in the past, it is still a very valid platform to build web application with it. New users will learn it fast and it is purely a scripting language.

With the advent of open source CFML engines there is no reason not to use it for some projects.

Especially the easy interaction with databases is a big plus of Coldfusion.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Though, the syntax has changed or let's say you have the option to write in pure cfscript, the XML syntax might not be something to every ones liking, especially for people coming from more "pure" languages.

No command line support and the rather small community is also something that might not work for some. Rather small "solutions/packages" out there. So one ends up writing a lot of code.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build a complete Digital Asset Management platform - Razuna - with ColdFusion. It made it possible to integrate easily with different databases. At the time, when we started (over 9 years ago) Coldfusion was the only viable solution without either being a "early adopter of a language that *might* take off". It served us well.

  ### 28. Good but not great

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell M. | Application Engineer, Primary/Secondary Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2015

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

Very easy to pick up and start developing in. Coldfusion is built specifically for building web applications so there are many convenience functions built into the language itself. The framework CfWheels provides a Ruby on Rails like framework that is worth trying.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Very easy to create unmaintainable code because of it's scripting origins. Objects were an afterthought and the cfscript (a new syntax that looks more like java) is missing functionality.
There are a lot of weird things that Coldfusion does that are coldfusion specific and have a questionable design. For example, booleans when outputted on a page will display as "YES" or "NO" or that numbers are sometimes strings but not always.

There is not a ton of community support and the support that does exist is mostly outdated. Because of the lack of community support there are not a lot of tools and libraries. Those that do exist are usually not updated and require tweaking.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Coldfusion is only a good language. With so many great languages and frameworks out there it would be a shame to use coldfusion unless necessary. It is lacking of a killer framework, although CfWheels is getting good, that just doesn't compare to something like RoR. Adobe doesn't seem to know what direction they are heading in and is trying to force object orientation on a scripting language.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly used for building internal business applications that handle registrations and tracking organization information. It is good for quickly building web applications that are database heavy.

  ### 29. Best chioce for rapid web development

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak K. | Software Engineer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

CF is very easy to learn. After learning for a week or two you direct jump to development. There are very good frameworks are available in the market like cfwheel,ColdBox,fw etc. There are open source options also available for CF like Lucee.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

There are a lot of open bugs for the product still available in the bugbase. Adobe is bit slower in fixing them up. Adobe should put more focus on that.
License cost is bit higher, So clients hesitate a bit to buy it. Its not properly marketed by Adobe, that's why its not much famous.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

ColdFusion community is not much active. There should be more activity on communities like github, stackoverfolw . Though now there is a slack channel which is very active.

Adobe Should market ColdFusion properly and should release updates frequently. Adobe should take client's feedback and work on the features which clients want.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have seen ColdFusion being used in all domains starting from E-Commerce, Healthcare, Supply-Chain Mgmt, Real Estate, Govt projects. Its best suited for all kind of project. But the thing is you must use it with a MVC framework, otherwise the whole codebase becomes a big mess.

  ### 30. Development of business web applicatoins in the health care sector.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake B. | Senior Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2015

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

It is a well-structured tag-based scripting language. Applications are scope with event handlers at application, session and request level.
It is easy to write database queries without the need to concatenate strings, although using query parameters can inhibit this a little.
Strong integration with the Java makes Coldfusion fully-compatible with Java libraries.
It is relatively easy to write a SOAP server and client for testing or implementing web services.
cfscript allows you to breakaway from writing tag-based code, although the syntax for some constructs is unusual.
The XML functions have proved handy to interpret and process raw data extracted from databases.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

The reliance on a Java Virtual Machine can make Coldfusion a bit clunky for small web apps. Code need to be interpreted by the application server which itself runs inside a JVM. It's better suited for large enterprise applications.
Integration with IIS and .NET services can be cumbersome.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staff Intranet.
Self-assessment applications for primary and secondary health care environments.
Health awareness questionaires.
Business web applications, eg time tracking, project workflow.

  ### 31. Long time CFML dev

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion's ability to connect to databases and query them is definitely one of its greatest features to this day.

Features aside, it's always been a fairly simple language and environment to jump right into and start churning away.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

When considering its caretaker, Adobe, it lacks some necessary language development to meet what exists in other langs of the modern dev world.

Bugs that are stalling and/or sensible additions/fixes drag for sometimes years (YEARS!!!).

Save a few awesome individuals, much of the Adobe team in near completely silent to the community or comes off as quite disconnected from the very language and platform they are building.

These things harm ColdFusion as a product. Not just a language platform.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Look into Lucee, a free, open source alternative to Adobe's platform. Just all around better experience with the product, features, bug resolutions and community involvement. It has its own headaches like anything you'll encounter in the dev world but it's a solid product.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly develop solutions for small businesses. In general, ColdFusion has always sufficed to get the job done.

The number one benefit over the years has without a doubt been the ability to scaffold out a working product quickly.

  ### 32. Never again

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

I don't think I have a single positive thing to say about working with CFML. It's literally pain from the moment you begin until the moment you free yourself from its evil hold on slow moving businesses.

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

Everything. Starting with the fact that there are two syntax's that are not equal. It's a half assed version of the worst parts of javascript and the worst parts of xml ideology. It's awful for modern applications. It's difficult to learn. It's horrible to use on a Mac. Or any *nix. It encourages anti-pattern after anti-pattern. The community is awful. I mean awful. Anyone who was good moved on years ago. Anyone still using it is either forced to, or hasn't bothered to look out the window in a while. There's very little help available. I had to use OpenBD which is an open source CFML implementation, which only further complicated learning by being ever so slightly undocumentedly different. Everyday of writing it was a maddening endeavor. I've used a lot of languages, on a lot of platforms, compiled and script, and none are as frustrating as CFML, at least, OpenBD's version of it. Using CFML today is like using a pair of scissors to mow your lawn and watching all your neighbors use riding lawnmowers. I'd recommend literally anything else if you are starting a new project.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Don't. This is a dying tech stack. It has the worst community. It has a fractured community. It hasn't evolved meaningfully in years. For the love of your employees, coworkers, families, children, puppies, parents, bosses, neighbors, the community and country, do not inflict this awful nightmare upon yourself.

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing. Delays. Unwieldy garbage code.

  ### 33. Still a contender

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2015

**What do you like best about ColdFusion Builder?**

ColdFusion is an easy to use scripting language that still competes in the dynamic, web application space. Often dismissed as an "also ran", ColdFusion is a platform that is still in use on many high traffic websites, and also supports real time credit card transactions and e-commerce. In my more than twenty years using this excellent product, I have yet to find a problem I couldn't solve with it. I have written website scraping apps for currency conversion, a shopping cart, and many data transformation applications. Still a very worthy investment and still a contender. Love it!!!

**What do you dislike about ColdFusion Builder?**

There is nothing I dislike about ColdFusion except finding a host is not as simple as finding say, a PHP capable host or a host that supports MySQL. It's still a niche.

**Recommendations to others considering ColdFusion Builder:**

Compare to other titles, but don't dismiss CF!

**What problems is ColdFusion Builder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

E-commerce, data transformation and migrations
