What do you dislike about Slim4?

Like any advanced planning platform, there is a learning curve when first implementing and adopting the system. Some of the more sophisticated functionality requires user training and experience to fully leverage. Slim4 helps us improve forecast accuracy, manage inventory levels more effectively and make better purchasing decisions. Prior to using a specialised planning platform, much of this analysis relied on spreadsheets and manual intervention. Slim4 enables us to proactively identify inventory risks, forecast future stock positions and make more informed replenishment decisions. I wouldn't say there is anything I dislike. Like any advanced planning tool, it requires commitment during implementation and continuous fine-tuning, but that's also what allows it to deliver accurate and reliable results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slim4 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slim4 is solving two key challenges for us: managing inventory more accurately and making the planning process more efficient. Before Slim4, planners spent a significant amount of time on manual activities and it was difficult to fully account for the variability of supplier lead times. Today, we can plan based on more reliable data, automatically consider supplier lead times at item level, and focus our attention on the exceptions that really matter. An intuitive interface that is easy to learn has made it possible for our purchasing personnel to optimize their time spent, while also gaining several tools which help minimize transportation costs related to supplier requirements. User friendly interface, deviation based approach helps us to easily find what is not normal and to dig into abnormal things/parameters. Easy to focus on prioritized items (AA) and hence, not wasting time on items that don´t need attention. A lot of useful functions that we didn´t have before. such as order fill, supplier calendar (when not to order or not to deliver), dynamic safety stocks, clustering items, adding tasks to be executed daily/weekly/monthly. giving the users more insights of the demand and let them control the parameters to influence it. This all leads better replenishment decisions and eventually to lower inventories which is the main benefit.
