"Secure File Sharing with Manual Integration Challenges"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I really value Kiteworks for its robust granular access-control and automatic file-expiry functionalities. It allows me to grant temporary document access to external stakeholders and freelance tech contractors, setting files to expire automatically after review. This is crucial as it removes the risk of confidential IT reports lingering in uncontrolled circulation. The ready-made security features significantly reduce manual oversight for our team, which lacks dedicated IT admins, saving us from a lot of extra security checks during our workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

Kiteworks struggles with poor native integration and clunky exported audit-log formatting for our consulting workflows. Exported log files do not align with our project-management tool’s fields, forcing us to re-edit records manually. Its custom reporting options are limited, and we cannot build client-ready compliance summaries directly inside the platform. Without dedicated IT admins, our consulting staff bears all this extra cleanup work. Better API connectivity and customizable compliance reports would greatly lower our repetitive post-project administrative overhead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Reliable File Sharing That Inspires Confidence"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I like the security and reliability of Kiteworks. It makes it easy to share sensitive files while keeping control over access, and I feel confident that documents are protected when sending them outside the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

Managing access for external clients can sometimes be confusing. Some recipients need extra guidance to open shared files or complete the access steps, which can slow down collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure File Sharing and Email with Strong Encryption and Access Controls"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

Kiteworks provides a secure way to share files and send emails with sensitive information. I used it to upload files and compose secure emails when sharing documents with internal teams and external stakeholders. The security features like encryption and access control help ensure that confidential data is protected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

The interface can take some time to get used to, especially for new users. Sometimes navigating between features like file sharing and secure email can feel a bit complex. Also, transferring very large files may take longer depending on the network speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Central Nervous System for Sensitive Content Governance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

What I value most is the platform's ability to create a single, governed environment for all sensitive content communication. Before Kiteworks, our organization used a scattered mix of email, consumer-grade file-sharing apps, and SFTP servers, which created massive visibility gaps and compliance risks. Kiteworks unified these channels—email, secure file sharing, web forms, SFTP/MFT—into one controlled platform. The "click the Kiteworks button" philosophy has standardized secure behavior across our teams, giving our security leadership complete visibility and control over where sensitive data like PII, PHI, and IP is going, with whom, and when. It turns security policy from an abstract rule into an enforceable, integrated workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

As an enterprise-grade security platform, it requires dedicated resources for initial configuration and ongoing policy management to realize its full value. It is not a "set it and forget it" tool; tailoring its powerful governance rules to your organization's specific workflows and compliance needs takes careful planning. "Enterprise-Grade Secure File Sharing with Strong Governance and Compliance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

What I like best about Kiteworks is its strong focus on secure file sharing and data protection. It offers end-to-end encryption, granular access controls, and detailed audit logs, which make it ideal for organizations handling sensitive or regulated data. The centralized governance over emails, file sharing, and managed file transfers ensures compliance while still being easy for teams to collaborate securely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

One aspect I dislike about Kiteworks is that the initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for smaller teams or first-time users. The interface, while powerful, may feel less intuitive compared to some modern file-sharing platforms, and certain advanced features require training or technical support to use effectively. Additionally, the cost can be on the higher side for organizations that do not need its full enterprise-level security capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Security and Compliance with Kiteworks"
5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I like Kiteworks for its strong security and compliance controls, which gives me confidence when handling sensitive data. The built-in encryption, access controls, and policy enforcement mean secure behavior is the standard without having to remember additional steps. This significantly reduces accidental data exposure and makes compliance manageable. I appreciate the unified platform that consolidates secure email, managed file transfers, external collaboration, and audit reporting, simplifying workflows and reducing costs. The comprehensive audit trails and visibility help quickly answer questions like who accessed a file and when a download was shared. I also value Kiteworks' tight integration with identity providers, allowing user access and permissions to be managed centrally and making Kiteworks feel like a natural extension of our IT environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

The initial setup and configuration of Kiteworks can be complex, especially for organizations without dedicated IT or security resources. The onboarding process, particularly configuring policies, identity integration (SSO/LDAP), and encryption settings, can feel overwhelming. There are many powerful options, which can mean a steeper learning curve up front. The security and policy configuration has many moving parts and requires careful configuration to avoid impacting compliance or usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Trackable File Sharing with Room for UX Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I mainly use Kiteworks for securely sharing sensitive files and important documents with clients and colleagues. The audit log is one of my favorite features because I can see exactly who opened a file and when. This transparency makes file sharing much more trustworthy. I really like how easily I can control who can view, download, or forward the files. Setting permissions feels very straightforward and reliable. I also appreciate that they make file sharing safer and more transparent as I can manage access easily and track every action taken on my documents. Additionally, the integration with Microsoft Outlook for sending secure links and notifications is handy, and after the basic configuration, my team got comfortable quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

Some parts of Kiteworks feel a little complex for new users. The interface could be smoother and more modern. Large file uploads can be slow sometimes. Mobile usability could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Security with Room for UI Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I love Kiteworks for its strong security and easy file sharing. The compliance and centralized governance features stand out to me, as well as the integration capabilities. I also highlight Kiteworks for its customizable features, which allow me to tailor workflows and access controls to fit my business needs. The audit logs feature provides detailed tracking for compliance and security monitoring, and mobile access allows me to securely access files and data on-the-go via the mobile app. The customer support is a positive aspect as well. Additionally, I value specific features like secure file sharing, with granular access controls and encryption, audit logs, managed file transfer which is reliable and automated, and email security with end-to-end encryption for sensitive communications. These features streamline secure collaboration and compliance. The initial setup was extremely easy, which I really appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

Kiteworks has some areas for improvement. Here are a few: I find the interface a bit complex, especially for new users, because of its strong security features. Customer support could be faster; sometimes there are delays in their response. I wish there was more customization available in workflows and UI. The file management and organization aren't the best and could be improved. Pricing is on the higher side, and this might be challenging for smaller businesses. I've faced some integration challenges with other tools. The mobile app isn't very polished and could be more user-friendly. There's no automated offboarding process for end-users, which is a hassle. Lastly, I think a scheduled upgrade function would be helpful instead of manual updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Data Security and Stellar Compliance Features"
5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I like the robust security features and seamless integrations of Kiteworks. It makes securing data exchanges easy without disrupting workflows. The customer support is responsive and helpful, and the audit logs are super detailed, making compliance checks a breeze. The integrations, especially with Office 365, are excellent, allowing easy sharing of files directly from Outlook or Teams. It provides peace of mind with its robust security for sharing sensitive data externally. The version control feature is handy as it tracks changes even when files are shared externally. I also appreciate that users don't need extra logins, it just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

UI navigation can be a bit clunky. Would love more customization for compliance templates and more flexible reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Feature-Packed, but Complex to Manage"
5/5
What do you like best about Kiteworks?

I like that Kiteworks emphasizes enterprise-grade security with features like encryption, granular access controls, and immutable audit trails. It supports compliance with major frameworks like GDPR, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and PCIDSS, making it appealing for organizations handling sensitive data. I appreciate how it consolidates secure file sharing, manages transfers, secure web forms, and encrypted messaging under one platform. Its integration with familiar tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Office apps is also useful, helping reduce user friction and streamline workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kiteworks?

What doesn't work for me well is the setup and maintenance. Initial setup and configuration sometimes require dedicated IT involvement, and upgrades can be manual and complex. Occasionally, needing more storage resources during updates. Kiteworks is typically positioned as a premium enterprise solution. Pricing details are often not publicly listed and can seem high compared to consumer or base cloud collaboration tools, which may deter small organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
