**What do you like best about HelloID?**

First off their customer service is amazing, we have been working with their team for a while now and they still amaze me with their speed and how helpful they are. Secondly, the product works great, they maintain it on a regular basis, and have custom scripts to import with 90% of the work done for you. I have implemented scripts from their GitHub integration, as well as a few scripts of my own. Easy to do, and amazing to see in action. The audit reports work great, I can see who did what, when, and if it worked. The fact that I can sign into the dashboard outside of my domain, see audits, make changes, and get results is mind-blowing.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Some issues on upgrades cause you to have to reboot the service on the DC, but honestly not a major deal. I just created a task to restart the service nightly, not really needed, but I just wanted to be covered. 

Some of the features make perfect sense to use but are hard to explain to an end-user that is not tech-savvy. For example, in account creation, there is the option to have the account expire, which is easy to understand what it does, but apparently not, we have had to remove this option from our script as our HR department would mess this up. Not an issue with the product, more of an issue with the department.

It can take a while to hear back from a rep if you are working on something, as many people are moving over to HelloID now. But when they do get back to you, they are helpful and make sure you get the answers you are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

Train your end-users to understand the functions of what each part does, it will help with a lot of the headaches you could encounter.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted our HR department to create users easier, with a notification sent to them upon success. We also utilized the ability to have our field techs do password resets, account unlocks, and more without directly touching Active Directory. This helps in minimizing the chance of someone messing up in AD, something that I am definitely happy to have.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

The best thing about HelloID is the ability to manage user provisioning yourself instead of relying on a vendor to do it.  The rules are very granular and allow a lot of control.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

We are just at the beginning of our switch to HelloID.  Right now it is a complex system but it is getting easier with use.  I can definitely see the power that HelloID provides.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to take one source system and then provision those users with a myriad of other services.  Once the rules are in place then this is automated and hands-off.  Coming from UMRA which wasn't managed by us and was opaque, HelloID is a welcome change.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

The integration between a proprietary HR package and Active Directory saves us time and cost.  In the past, we had to run reports to see who was active and what accounts we needed inactivate.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

The interface is very clean and organized, but there are a lot of options and as a newer customer, we find ourselves going to support often when there are ways we can support ourselves.  I would also like to see more options for group memberships and removing accounts from non-default groups when an account is inactivated.

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

HelloID can be very technical and difficult to set up initially.  Once it is running, the management becomes much easier.  There is not a lot of training from HelloID, but their support is competent and quick to respond.   There can be trial and error, so watch your logs for unexpected results.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to automate account creation, along with Google directory sync, which is saving us time and money.   Our return on investment is this automation process and the fact that we now have 1 or 2 people managing a directory.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

The admin console is easy to navigate. On the user side, users can see icons on their dashboard and login with one click. I haven't used other competitors, so I am not really sure how it compares.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

With some apps, after a password in Active Directory, users have to go in and update their credentials.  I wish there were some sort of indicator, like a red dot or something to let them know. We get lots of calls about this after password changes.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hello ID has solved the problem of our younger students having to remember passwords.  This has helped us with having to reset passwords all the time and it also saves time in the classroom.

Hello ID gives us the flexibility to do the things we want to do and support typically gets right back to me and is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Setup is complicated and documentation is often incomplete or not up to date. I wouldn't get real far without support.

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

I think this is a very good solution compared to what we had before which was done with scripts run once per day.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've delegated out password changes so that a persons identity can be verified by a trusted person that would know their users. 
We have Automated staff and student account move add suspend changes and it is working very well. HR and SIS departments pretty much handle all changes now.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

From start to finish HelloID was great with the project. They actively would revisit custom scripts to meet our needs. MSAD and Google Workspace automation from Skyward exports.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Apart from a very minor detail or two in the Admin Console (Menu Paths), I can't find any complaints about their services at HelloID. Their customer service is also very helpful and knowledgable.

Contact them and ask questions. They will answer.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once setup is complete, and the product settings tuned, this tool runs Automation like a Champion. This product definitely has helped us improve efficiency by allowing us to focus on other projects by reducing time spent with Account Creation.

it is portal-based now so you can write rules now instead of writing code for the scripts. there are videos now on how to create rules. it can sync with Azure and Google as well.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

The password sync module is not there which we used in the past through the UMRA product. Because of that, we have to use a separate server for just the PSM module.

using this product we already solved the problem of user account and group management. we are saving a ton of time because of that. it is automated so we can use the time on other projects.

Hello ID has completely revolutionized the way we provide IT support at my job. We've more the doubled our efficiency when it comes to provisioning users and helping our customers.

The only negative my team has experienced is that there was a small transition when we implemented Hello ID that caused minor confusion among some staff members.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our implementation of Hello ID was aimed at providing easy-to-use automation when it comes to provisioning users. After getting everything set up and working properly the time it would take us to create a user was reduced by a substantial amount.

HelloID was very easy to setup and configure. For the most part, it's been a "set and forget" kind of system for us.

In my experience, the tools and technology used seem a bit outdated. I think the server side could be cleaned up and simplified a bit.

Give them a chance, they won't let you down.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, we rely on HelloID for an SSO portal, self-service password reset, and user provisioning. It does exactly what we need at a fraction of the cost of the big companies, especially Okta.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

We worked with both HelloID and SSRPM and found both to be very flexible and could be customized to fit our environment. I enjoy working with PowerShell so working with the modules was interesting. Support for both products was very responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Maybe the only thing was sometimes support had to wait for an answer from developers who worked overseas, delaying the response.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using HelloID for some of our admin users to manage their own distribution lists. Of course, this has reduced the number of Helpdesk calls we get for this type of matter. We have not as of yet implemented SSRPM but plan to in the near future.

Easy to work with, scheduling with the implementation tech was easy and open.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

We initially went with HelloID because they said they work with Infinite Campus, but it turned out that we still needed to pay IC to help implement their product (the import).

We're using Hello-ID to automate staff and student user account provisioning.  We're a small district, so it was important to get our small IT staff away from user creation to focus on more important things.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

Using HelloID is like having an extra department.  Everything account-related that we used to spend multiple weeks' worths of time dealing with is now all done automatically before we start our day.  The support is also fantastic.  No issue has gone unresolved.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

There is a pretty steep learning curve and the logs leave a little to be desired.  We wish there was more information provided when we receive an error.  There are multiple places you have to look to find a problem instead of a dashboard that could point you in the right direction.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were having to manually move students every time they changed grades or schools.  The time this required was never-ending and included a long delay for a resolution to the end-user.  We barely have think about any of this now.

An identity and access management product that keeps expanding and evolving features, by a software manufacturer that values end-user and admin feature requests. The product utilizes an intuitive admin and end-user interface.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

There is not much to dislike. If I would have to point something out, there is still room for more features and functions (but there is already a lot in development).

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

Once you get started and get to know the product, it isn't a very large learning curve to really dive into the product. Also Tools4ever is very helpful when setting up the product and is very knowledgeable.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting all the customers systems, to fully automate the end-user on-boarding, re-boarding and off-boarding process. No more need to manually create accounts, send credentials and assign permissions in all the systems. 

Also, end-user automation to perform complicated tasks, using an easy form-based front-end is something the product is very good at.

Ease of use and access to support service for help with projects and automation. The SSO piece is great for our k-2 students and allows them to sign in with their Google Account and have access to a dashboard of SSO Apps. In my opinion, you will not work with a company that is more professional in sales, implementation, and post support than this company. They are the best in the businesss.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

There is nothing I dislike about Hello ID. Hello ID sales and post support are amazing. If there are tweaks or fixes that need to be made in your system support is very fast to respond.

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

Discuss your user management process internally and then talk with Hello ID to discuss how How HelloID can improve all those processes. Also, be sure to discuss the accuracy of people doing this vs the HelloID automation.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making our k-2 students have an easier time with SSO into several of our apps their teachers use. One-click logins once SSO is set up. Hello ID provisioning is used to automate all our student accounts with Google and our local active directory. Our source data is PowerSchool SIS. This is like having an additional employee.

I like best that HelloID has streamed lined our process. The implentatoin process in my opinion was that hardest, but all those issues were resolved by Tools4Ever tech support. Implementing HelloID has paid dividends especially with student accounts.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

I don't have anything that I serisouly dislike about the product. The issues I've encountered were not caused by Tools4Ever, but by our SIS. The problems affected HelloID but were not caused by HelloID. My biggest issue is with employee accounts. Again, the issue is with our SIS and how they classify active/inactive employees. Lastly, overall the look is a little "clunky",but that's not the end of the world.

Do this before the start of your fiscal/school year.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we resolved was generating student accounts. Initially, we would spend days and multiple spreadsheet exports trying to create user accounts and then bulk edit Active Directory. One of the benefits is that we have reduced the number of misspellings and password mistakes.

What I like most about HelloID is the ability to customize it to fit our needs. They are able to work with almost any platform for Single Sign On and can customize the data sent to ensure the integration works correctly. Their support has always been great, we have always received quick responses and any issue we have has been solved expediently.

There is always room to grow in adding more third-party platforms and having templates for them to make adding a new app faster.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HelloID gave our users,  both staff and students, a landing page where they can easily access all the applications that they use in the classroom. This made it so much easier for them to get into an application without the hassle of typing the web address, authenticating, and managing a password for each and every one. The time that the process saves gets added back to the instructional time that students typically lose when a teacher would introduce an app for our students to use.

I like how flexible the software is and how great the support is. I feel like I can pretty much accomplish anything I want to between the flexibility and the out of box thinking from the support team.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

The product is still pretty new so it can be difficult when working with other vendors because they're not familiar with HelloID even though HelloID is compatible. The MFA is a little weird and could use some work.

We use HelloID for account provisioning and SSO. We are a small private school and this past year we had so many students coming in and out with COVID and I truly could not imagine where we would be at without the account provisioning tool. It has saved us an enormous amount of time and headache.

How simple it is. You set it up and then you can forget about it. I like how it automates the integration between my SIS and AD and Google. It stands above any other software like this I have used.

It is the best product I have purchased this year. I have recommended it to other school systems.

The project manager spent a lot of time with us, getting everything working the way we wanted and needed it.  Since HelloID is in the cloud, we don't have to worry about updating it.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Creating forms requires a bit of programming knowledge to execute.  A GUI builder for creating forms that would output automatic Powershell code would be most helpful.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product replaced an offboarding/onboarding process from 2009 or 11 years ago that we were using.  We can now call technical support with any issues versus using a custom solution created by a former employee.

The control we have over so many different logins, all centrally managed by one directory sync, is by far our favorite feature.

We wish it had broader integration with outside vendors. There is a way to add generic applications; but many 3rd party companies still aren't familiar with the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

Support is excellent. The agents are speedy in responding and very helpful. Pricing is another plus; there are no hidden fees and escalating costs.

We solved logins in the lower grades with QR codes; and eliminated confusion over multiple logins.

Very difficult to get troubleshooting or assistance done in a timely manner when you have to work with multiple companies.

The Portal can be configured for SSO. It is nice that the Portal is a springboard for most everything we need.

Sometimes there are problems with SSO. Transparancy of the urls where icons will take a user would be helpful.

I like the fact that we can truly have ONE login for everything. It's been a game changer.

HelloID does rely on our servers so if we have any issues, HelloID won't work. This can cause issues. Luckily this doesn't happen often.

We are resetting much fewer passwords than before and younger students can login via QR code.

Not all of the site we use are supported out of the box, but they have been easy to add.

I would use SAML for your authentication when possible, it works great with HelloID.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

Early on in our implementation, there were some glitches at a certain time every morning, but they were resolved very quickly.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows our students not to have to remember a password for every program we use

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

The most helpful is Joe Karr.  He always answers my calls, and emails in a timely manner and is so knowledgeable in helping with any issue we might have.

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

I don't really have a downside of the HelloID product.

**What problems is HelloID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use for our students and faculty.  The teachers love how easy it is to login one time and have access to all platforms at your fingertips and with one click.

**What do you like best about HelloID?**

Hello ID has allowed our staff and  students to maintain a single sign on experiance across many different systems that they utilize.  HelloID provides them single pane of glass for access to all internal and third party software that they need. 

**What do you dislike about HelloID?**

I am not a fan of different modules,  I would love for it to become an all inclusive package. 

**Recommendations to others considering HelloID:**

Go for it.

The Single Sign On has been the biggest accomplisment for our uses at this time. We are in the process of adding the on boarding module and the ability to add forms for password resets.
