They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Givebutter?** Give Butter has added the wallet feature so there is a lot more flexibility in how much money when we transfer. This allows me better reporting as I can pull the exact amount to each account that I need to. I believe this has also meant you can edit transactions to be directed to different campaigns or people, which is really helpful as well when someone makes an error they don't have to completely redo the transaction. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** They have added a subscription to access more of the features. I still think we can get what we need on the free platform, but I am sure much of their focus has been on the paid platform. I still am looking for targeted access for users on just certain campaigns, but it is a minor ask. Still very pleased with the product. The fees/tipping confuses our donors quite a bit so we just disable it and deal with the higher platform fees. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** GiveButter allows us to use platforms like Venmo to accept donations. They now offer a whole host of paid services that I have yet to explore because the free version of the platform is still meeting my organization’s needs; as we grow, I will absolutely explore the paid services. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** Would love an option to change some of the original account settings — there may be a solution I haven’t found, but would love to se it more intuitive for things like changing organization’s phone number, etc. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Givebutter has filled our needs for short term fundraising efforts like auctions, events, and campaigns which is more than we anticipated when we first signed up with the platform. We use a separate CRM (I won’t mention the name) that offers only the bare minimum across the board. Fortunately, Givebutter integrates with it, which allows us to actually take advantage of strong fundraising tools. Whenever we think about embedding forms or a button on our website, Givebutter has it. Silent auction? Givebutter has it. The features are so user-friendly that even when I’m using them for the first time, it still feels like I’m a pro. It has improved my own performance and our department’s overall performance. Givebutter consistently delivers. On top of that, their support is premium—responses are prompt, and they help fix the problem right away. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** There's one specific thing about Silent Auction feature that I'd suggest improving - the receipt. I learned that auction bidder received the same receipt as someone bought the tickets, which could be confusing. It would be great to make a separate receipt for auction. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been in development for almost 10 years. I have a deep respect for Givebutter. One, they're free. And recently they offer a paid version, which is understandable. But, unlike other platform, they keep their free version user friendly, and only take away premium feature like text message for example. Small non-profits that may not have funding to spend on CRM can now turn to Givebutter. Most of their donors cover those fees. It's easy to use and we use it for all of our campaigns. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** It would be great to add bulk tags inside of the transactions section. I can pull anyone who participated in a campaign, but I can't add tags to them as a group. In my case, I needed people who participated at a specific level within the campaign. We also had a donor process a refund due to a communication issue. As a person who is not overwhelmingly tech-savvy, so many of the functions on Givebutter are super intuitive. Any time I have felt "stuck", it's been easy to get answers and resolve my challenges. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** Not at this time. I am loving GB! There's no coding, no having to host it ourselves and that saves a lot of time and money. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** I don't like that we can't customize it more, especially the donate button and the interface. We have had several donors complain that they were tricked into "tipping", assuming that the money was going to our nonprofit, only to realize it went to Givebutter. Along with the donate button, we often use the event portion. However, Givebutter makes you go through with donating and then the event, which confuses some of our "users". **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's solving the problem of having a place to host our events and having a ticket system/place to capture data that we can then use. I continue to be impressed with Givebutter's commitment to continually improving its already robust no-charge basic platform. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** Givebutter is doing a much better job of beta testing new enhancements and modules before release. I would like Givebutter to consider offering the marketing and communications features of Givebutter+ (paid tier) as stand-alone modules available to basic Givebutter users for a flat fee. I feel that would encourage no-charge tier users to eventually upgrade to Givebutter+. Especially since the donor data is already captured, I'd rather pay Givebutter for marketing and communications than to the stand-alone solutions like Mailchimp or Constant Contact. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Givebutter allows me to easily create professional-looking campaigns at a low-to-no cost. Since I started using GB, it has saved me a lot. I also like having the ability to sell tickets. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** I don’t like having to learn yet another program. That said, their support is excellent, and they offer a Bootcamp to help you get started. The other thing I struggle with is that it can be difficult to see all of the information from submissions in one place-without printing it out as a csv. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** The number one reason I switched to GiveButter is that it gives me a platform where I can create forms that accept payments. My previous go-to is Google Forms and then send an invoice. I work with a lot of government entities that can’t access Google. GiveButter has been a great alternative for that. It is intuitive and pretty easy to learn. Top improvements for me would be: 1. Standard fees across the different types of campaigns is an improvement. 2. Being able to tailor the portion of ticket sales that are tax-deductible. 3. Automations **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** I am still disappointed by the limitations on finding duplicate accounts. I have also found that there are several reporting needs for which Givebutter doesn't have capacity. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need an integrated platform for monthly gifts, peer-to-peer, auction and raffle sales. In addition, our state is very particular about deposits and raffle sales. UPDATE: We transitioned to GiveCampus about a year ago. We currently still have the platform because we had a few remaining recurring gifts that are processed through G.B. We attempted to contact those donors on multiple occasions to migrate the recurring gift but have been unsuccessful. It was super easy for our volunteers to set up their pages. This is what make GiveButter fantastic - easy enough for non-tech people to use but sophisticated enough to securely capture all the data we need for donors, donations, and reporting. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** The check-out process for donors can be a bit tricky. If they prefer not to leave a tip they need to unclick the box. However, the GiveButter support staff has been spectacular anytime I called asking for help in refunding the tip. I have found places where there are gaps in its abilities, but it gives you the power to vote for an addition to the software and I have been using GiveButter long enough and it changes often enough that I have seen things I voted for be implemented. It feels like the updates are always useful and I rarely if ever encounter bugs or oddities. We have added a newsletter sign up to our website interconnecting GiveButter and our other systems and it has worked flawlessly. I would love to connect it with other systems too. I think for the price and the charging model it is absolutely the best system out there for small non-profits who want to keep all their information in one place, email from one place, and continue to grow with this great tool. **What do you dislike about Givebutter?** It is a more limited tool than some fundraising CRM systems, but it is covering more things a little bit and in my mind it's workable and helpful. Especially as a non-profit with razor thin margins it's been so helpful to eliminate multiple more elaborate systems in exchange for it all being in one place. But I know there are things still missing that I would like to take advantage of, especially in the reporting category, but I have seen GiveButter grow and improve and believe it will continue that way. **What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?** GiveButter is putting all of our contacts into one place and as a small school that helps me communicate with all of our different audiences in an easier way.
