Their additional value add functions are good, but most are not worth the additional costs. Admin and integration is difficult (M2) and does require technical dev/sys admin. **What do you dislike about Algolia?** Their cost structure and quoting are smoke and mirrors and increasing rapidly. They are making it difficult to understand, predict, manage and rolling out increasingly hostile overages. The end goal appears to allow themselves the first glance view of being competitively priced to get you contracted in, then hit you with overage charges. They know that switching between suppliers is costly - thus most customers wont. **What problems is Algolia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Great for controlling complex searches for fashion, allowing us to control results for things like newness, stock levels, discounts etc. We also use their preview search to great effect allowing people to adjust their searches on the fly using the visual feed back of the garments. We also inject promotional content into search eg: Search Socks and the "Socks Multibuy" banner comes up in results. ### 15. Also, got a learning path on how does Algolia search algorithm works. There is an Algolia search academy for that! The business representative was quick to on-board. Also, the pricing is great! Extremely economical. **What do you dislike about Algolia?** The search algorithm is a black box. Had to do a lot of hit-and-trial iterations. Also, don't understand how can I fully optimise the algorithm. Would need more case studies on this (industry-specific case studies to improve search) **What problems is Algolia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Search is one of the most critical features for an end-user to find out what they are looking for on any platform. As part of this project; we have evaluated how effective our current search is. Based on the evaluation; we have found out that the relevance of the first search result for current Razorpay docs is 0.47 as compared to 0.80 for Stripe. We evaluated a few search solutions and were able to achieve a first search relevance score of 0.87 with Algolia search API. This project improved the relevance of our search results drastically and create a better experience for end users. The CTR of first search results improved by 10%. ### 23. A significant benefit of it is that you can use it for everything and implement it with most, if not all, popular coding languages. If your project is written with PHP, JS, or even React, you can quickly pick it up and create endless possibilities. I like that it allows me to work with PHP and have the option to create UI components rapidly. Another benefit of Algolia is the huge community of developers who can help you if you struggle with something, just jump into the Algolia community forum and ask, or even tag some Algolia Team members - they're always happy to help you as long as you describe your issue properly and provide details where you stuck. **What do you dislike about Algolia?** Honestly, there aren't many things that I dislike, although a recent change in the Dashboard UI made some options more difficult to access than the previous UI/UX revisions. If you're working on some demo project, the trial will be enough, but if you start using it in some big project, your bill might be an issue, but if your website/project generates good revenue, this should pay for itself. **What problems is Algolia solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helps with providing users with the best User Experience during search interaction on the main website and allowed us to handle a lot of queries with different sets of filters as well as sorting and suggestions behind the scene. Now that we've integrated it into our search system, we can iterate often as we learn more about our users and test search ranking improvements. For the business side, I like the ability to see clear usage analytics as well as the system proactively offering synonyms and other options to further boost our search experience. In addition, their team is very easy to work with and has been receptive to feedback and supports us as necessary. It does feel like Algolia offers great service and it has been very appreciated by our team. **What do you dislike about Algolia?** Some tools still feel MVP which can be a drag. An example of that is Algolia offers synonyms (where you can make similar phrases return the same result) but the AI re-ranker feature doesn't fully respect them which can break your user experience goals. In addition to it being lightning fast, we ended up using it to power our searching and filtering across certain content pages in addition to it powering our search. **What do you dislike about Algolia?** One downside to consider is that running multiple environments on different payment plans so that you are not overpaying for your development data, there was no easy way to migrate settings from indices from one plan to another under the same organization.
