What I like best about 4castplus is having project costs, forecasting, procurement, and progress tracking all in one place. 4castplus is an amazing piece of software. It’s extremely user-friendly and very well organized. I haven’t worked much with integrations or project pricing requirements yet, but from what I’ve seen, its capabilities are more than enough to handle these regular project tasks. My only dislike is the process and time required to generate invoices one by one for each project profile, since we have to repeat the exact same steps. There are times when we have over 100 project invoices per semi-monthly billing cycle. We have to drive into each project profile one by one to commit the invoice and generate the Excel invoice, entering the same information over and over again. For example, all we need to do is select the invoice date and the date parameters: May 16th invoice date and May 1-15th semi-monthly date parameters. We have mentioned this to the support team a few times. Automating or batch-processing this would save our accounting team a tremendous amount of time on billing days. It is clearly designed to support project work, with a defined start and finish schedule, but it isn’t as intuitively adaptable for tracking the performance of other parts of the business that aren’t project-based, such as fixed facilities that interact with those projects. We are using 4castplus for purchasing and vendor management, and the flexibility of the software supported a straightforward implementation. The 4castplus team demonstrated strong product knowledge during training, which was helpful in preparing users to work effectively within the system. The platform is comprehensive and user friendly, making vendor and material purchasing management easier to maintain and providing clear visibility into the current status of each purchase order.

While integration with our accounting system is still in progress, we are nearing that phase. There are only minor areas for improvement. When preparing a new purchase order and a rate change is identified, the rate must be updated directly in the cost rate table. Entering the correct rate on the purchase order itself does not automatically save it for future use, which adds an extra step. Additionally, there are a few field terminology differences that may not align with all user preferences; however, this is largely subjective, and the current approach generally supports broader usability. I use it to log my timesheet hours for each project I’ve worked on. The ability to search directly by project number is especially useful, because it saves me from having to look up the client first and then hunt down the right project. I also like that it shows my most recently used projects, so it’s quick to jump back in and keep going where I left off. Overall, it’s straightforward, efficient, and it saves me time. When I generate a Timesheet Report, I can select a From Date and a To Date, and it then lists all projects within that time period. I find 4castplus mostly intuitive, which I like. The reporting feature is great for keeping track of job progress, understanding where we stand, how much we've spent, and all those details. Additionally, its flexibility allows us to build jobs the way we need them, letting us track costs, revenue, and invoice clients in their preferred formats. My biggest wish for 4castplus is having some kind of mobile implementation for timesheet entry. It would be great if the guys in the field could submit their time tickets from their phones, and then they could be approved by a manager. Right now, we have to rely on Excel or paper forms and then have one person do all the data entry. Also, it would be nice to have quicker access to support when needed. I like the native integration between project cost management and procurement in 4castplus. The excellent dashboards are a plus, providing faster time to insights. As an upstream oil and gas company, our use case is fairly lightweight compared with the system’s full capabilities. We couldn’t find another lighter-weight product that still covered what we need.
